I visited Uchi for a special occasion and had a wonderful time! We happened to get a reservation during happy hour and sampled a few options from the happy hour menu and regular menu. I enjoyed the happy hour items the most! Our server was fantastic and helpful as we wanted to narrow down what we ordered. I would come back for special occasions but based on the prices, Uchi wouldn't be my go-to sushi spot.

Great service and amazing sushi . Traveling through Denver with family and we had a great time there

Absolutely phenomenal! We are so glad that we came back and gave this place a second shot. We had amazing service; we couldn't decide on which wine we wanted and our server had great recommendations and brought a few tastings to help us decide. The fish was very fresh and everything tasted so good that we got seconds of multiple items. Highly recommend the S-omakase (servers choice). We told our server what we liked and she KILLED IT! Going right at the end of happy hour was the move, the crowd level was perfect! This will not be the last time here, that's for sure
Be the first to ReplyLet me start by saying the food was amazing.
We ordered the Omakase and every dish was prepared to perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed every single bite. The cocktails were also delicious. But when you spend $400 for a meal before service, you expect good service. We ordered a 10 course Omakase, and throughout the meal our courses came out on top of one another, and at one point we had three courses delivered to our table none of the servers bothered to remove the finished plates. I felt it was rushed because the courses just came out on top of each other instead of being spaced. I also found that the noise level made it so that I couldn't even hear what the servers were describing for each course. Overall I spent close to $500. The food was delicious but service needs much work. For that amount of money I almost expect white tablecloth service, and this was far from it.

For all the hype this place gets, I didn't think the overall experience or food was worth it or great. If you're going to spend on sushi, go somewhere where you can enjoy the service and space. This place is always packed and hard to get a reservation, yet inside it's very loud, was stuffy and the decor doesn't align with the prices. It felt like a sushi place rather than fine dining that was meant to be an experience. The service was mediocre, our waitress didn't explain the menu or say what the specials or favorites were. She just took our order and then the food was arriving and delivered by a bunch of others. It felt rushed and not relaxing. The food overall lacked creativity and imagination. The best thing we had was the foie nigiri, for a sushi place it's just funny. The fish was fresh, but the sashimi was a bit bland, there was no soy sauce or wasabi served with it, and the rolls were the regular suspects, nothing creative. I'd rather go to Kumoya which is overall better at every level.

Wow. Amazing!! Best sushi I've had in Denver by far! Everything was so fresh and delicious. I went for a happy hour on my birthday and we got one drink each and a bottle of wine off their happy hour menu. I got the Ube Punch (pictured) and it was so refreshing and tasty. The happy hour nigiri is such a good deal and we got so many orders! Sushi rolls were awesome too. The service was great. Our waitress helped us understand the menu and kept coming around seeing if we wanted to order more. It was delivered to our table quickly. It's on the expensive side, but the happy hour is a great deal. Great vibes in there. 10/10 will be back!

Service was exceptional and loved the food. Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyThis was an amazing experience.
The food was delicious. We ordered the HH omakase, the Hama chili, kinoko nabe, walu walu and some various sashimi. All of it was great! They have a wonderful variety of fish options. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys seafood! The ambience was very cool. I noticed that it does get louder as it gets later. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed it very much. Reservations are highly recommended for how busy they can get. Definitely worth going to and trying everything on the menu!

Uchi is one of my favorite restaurants and I can't wait to go back! The staff is always so delightful and I love how fresh everything is. I love how different Uchi in other cities there's specialty that has to do with that city, so and Denver one there's some more meat, focused dishes that change seasonally. I'm going back this weekend and I can't wait!

I'm drooling writing this review...seriously. Uchi rocked my world. My expectations could not have been higher I was still blown away. BLOWN. AWAY. We started with the wagyu tartare which is arguably my new favorite dish of all time (hot take?). I love love love tartare and this was the best I've ever had. Next we moved to the Hama Chili which I was mentally comparing to the yellow tail sashimi from Nobu. Totally different and in the best way possible. I genuinely considered picking up the plate to drink that delicious broth. The citrus was the perfect compliment to the delicate hamachi. Otoro time: We got the sashimi served with a bowl of rice and it was so wonderful. Melt on your tongue & dissolve into buttery heaven type bite. Dredging the otoro in the sauce was by no means necessary but oh so good. We ordered a round of Lychee Martinis which are my absolute favorite cocktail that I rarely have the opportunity to drink. SO yum. The service was wonderful & atmosphere was pretty impressive especially for a 9pm reservation. We finished with the fried milk which is a must. I have a major sweet tooth but typically am too full after a meal to order a dessert. The fried milk was next level. Every single element of the dish was perfect. All in all one of my favorite dining experiences in Denver. Can't wait to find an excuse to come back soon. Cheers.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of our favorite spots in Denver.
Every time I visit I have to come! The service is amazing, they are very accommodating and have great pace when bringing dishes. They've even give us a few gift cards sometimes, which is very thoughtful. Do make sure to make an reservation in advance, they can get very busy! The place is beautiful and has great ambience. But the best part of course is the food! Everything Ive tried is delicious. I don't even order seafood often, but here I do. Some must haves include the ham and eggs, nasu, butter lobster, pork belly and the fried milk. Their desserts are all delicious as well! My favorite restaurant in Denver!

This restaurant was an extraordinary culinary adventure for us last Thursday night. The ambience was perfect to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We ordered the Chef's tasting menu (6 courses for 2), which was recommended by our fabulous server Sam. She was so knowledgable about all Ushi offerings & listened intently to our preferences. Next time we are in Denver, we will plan a return dinner visit to Uchi
Be the first to ReplyExpensive hipster sushi.
Definitely have to be cool to go here. Makes you feel like you're in LA or Miami when they make you wait for a table even though there's plenty available. Sauces are on nearly every dish so not a whole lotta fish flavor going on. The food was pretty good. They definitely try to do too much to make things overly fancy. Menu was difficult to understand. The simple menu items were marginal at best and I think that's because they want you to spend high-dollar for what I just said was the overly fancy options. You have to ask for soy sauce and wasabi because apparently you're not cool if you use it with sushi. I get the traditional approach but when the server made my company feel uncomfortable I thought that was pretty lame. Not necessarily her fault... She had clearly been trained to suggest soy sauce was not appropriate at the restaurant.Otherwise, really great service.

The service and the ambiance were awful. A very negative experience and of course, rude staff. They served us Foie Gras and I DONT RECOMMEND THIS. This is the worst dish on the menu. Ever since I dined here, I'll never come back.
Be the first to ReplyFor such a fine artsy dining experience.
Why did this place has such poor ventilation. Along with the wood interior and all the beef grilling. The wood would absorbed all that meaty smell. The foods were a hit or miss based on the contrasting ingredients. The Hama chili was a refreshing appetizer. Couldn't taste much of the yellowtail due to the strong citrus sauce. Zero sen just taste like a normal tuna California roll. Biendo taste like any regular spring roll. Last bit not least are the pork belly and gyutoro overpriced nigiri. Was not impressed.I would have to say the service was really fast seeing hoe busy it was. And the banana cake was the best dish of the meal. Coffee flavored ice cream, top it off with bitter caramel and banana cake. 8/10 would not recommend this restaurant for a meal leaving you full for the night.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. The menu was unique and had a great variety of dishes to choose from. The ambiance was cozy and intimate, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant

We came here for our 9 year anniversary and was not disappointed (It was our first time at Uchi). We opted for the six course signature tasting menu and added some delicious oysters on the side. Our server Javier was great and made the experience more enjoyable.Out of the 6 courses the standouts were the hama chili, kinoko nabe, and the fried milk for dessert. Everything though was super delicious, but those were my favorite dishes. For first timers I would would recommend the tasting menu, to try as many dishes as you can (Note: there is a 6 and 10 course tasting menu that are worth every penny). Our whole meal was a lot less than other restaurants of this caliber. We will definitely be back for more delicious food!
Be the first to ReplyPro tip: Make a reservation for happy hour.
The food is definitely worth the regular price, so my pro tip is mostly for y'all to try all the dishes possible. They truly are just smaller versions of the regular menu. What I truly love about this place is that it doesn't try to do sushi; it really is about taking Japanese cooking techniques to food. I love the walu walu and the amberjack if you need suggestions. The drinks are also delightful. My favorite is the yame yaki but please explore.

The unbelievable staff at Uchi were outstanding during our visit. We had friends in town who had been slightly over served before we got to our dinner reservation and invited another member to our party without informing us, but Uchi (on a very busy Saturday night) made accommodations for our group. Our server had the patience of a saint and took the time to explain the menu to our guests, including one who kept trying to order fried rice (which isn't on the menu)The food itself was top tier. Everything was amazing, and I generally don't eat sushi or seafood. The ambiance is romantic and upscale and feels like the food tastes (top quality)If there was a knock it is the price point which like the food previously mentioned is top tier. Be prepared to open your wallet here.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and atmosphere.
Has a great time and able to try lots of smaller items on happy hour and mix with items from the full menu we also wanted to try. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, but the price was higher than expected at $200
Great food, but the price was higher than expected at $200 per person for the Omokase, not $120 as I saw a few people mention on Yelp. After drinks and tip we were out the door for $300 a head. Definitely more expensive than intended, but delicious nonetheless.
Be the first to ReplyThe sushi here is not the traditional one.
The chefs here have added their own personal flavor to the sushi dishes, resulting in a fusion style sushi. We ordered 16 different types of sushi and a dessert to top it off. While all of them were good, three of them stood out as our favorites - the Foie Gras, Walu Walu, and Dulcey Trifle. However, we were disappointed by the small sizes of the sushi pieces, which made the price point quite steep. Our server Wade was attentive and provided us with informative insights on the dishes. The other staff members were also quick to clear out the plates, making the dining experience quite enjoyable. In terms of quality and service, this place definitely met our expectations. However, the value for money was not up to par, especially given the small portion sizes. I think Sushi Den has all the qualities that I'm looking for.The restaurant is quite busy, so we recommend making a reservation beforehand. Additionally, street parking can be a hassle, so we suggest taking advantage of the valet parking services.

Have been coming here for years and every time somehow tops the previous visit. We've been lucky enough to have the same incredible server, Eric, who not only knows the menu front to back but isn't afraid to give his insight into the hidden gems on the menu. You can't go wrong with this menu but the Sake Salmon and Hama Chili tuna will always have us coming back from more.
