Had dinner tonight, amazing food and service! The server made note "all compliments go to the chef", spoke volumes to their culture and style. Nestled in the heart of west village, this gem needs to be on your list.

Food: Ueki's 17-course omakase was an exquisite culinary journey, leaving a lasting impression on my palate. The highlight was undoubtedly the dry-aged fatty toro, which was nothing short of delicious, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience that I've rarely encountered elsewhere. The inclusion of wagyu meats added a luxurious touch, their rich flavors and tender textures demonstrating the chef's skill in selecting and preparing high-quality ingredients. The sashimi was exceptionally fresh, seasoned to perfection, allowing the natural flavors of the fish to shine through. Each course was thoughtfully prepared with just the right amount of searing, preserving the delicate essence of the ingredients. Also, made the best egg custard I've had in my life. Ambiance: The ambiance at Ueki's struck a perfect balance between cozy and refined. The dining space, with its lightly dimmed lighting, created an intimate and comfortable atmosphere, making the entire omakase experience feel exclusive and personal. The setting was ideal for savoring each meticulously prepared dish, allowing for a full appreciation of the artistry involved in their creation. The understated elegance of the decor contributed to the serene and welcoming environment. Service: The service at Ueki's was impeccable and truly set the experience apart. The host was incredibly friendly, making us feel welcomed and valued as guests. The level of attention to detail was remarkable, with each dish being explained thoroughly, providing insight into the ingredients and preparation methods. This educational aspect enriched the dining experience, enhancing our appreciation for each course. The staff's professionalism and warmth ensured that the entire evening flowed seamlessly, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit.
Be the first to ReplyUeki, nestled in the West Village, has become my favorite
Ueki, nestled in the West Village, has become my favorite omakase experience in New York. The subdued ambiance with its dim lighting creates an understated, intimate setting, making it suitable for a casual yet subtly high-end dining experience. There are 12-seats. I believe 8 around the bar. The chefs and Jack are all very friendly and provide excellent service, a friendly smile always, and fun experience. letting you enjoy the atmosphere, food, and experiennce while providing you with any knowledge you require. Not much to be added here! Moving on to the food - it's consistently delicious and yet constantly improving. The sushi assortment is skillfully prepared, showcasing a reliable standard of freshness. Each dish is thoughtfully executed with its unique differences in the sushi's composition and flavors. I think there was a light plum sauce on one I enjoyed and one topped with oats I believe that was delightful. If you fancy a drink, highly recommend to pair with the Blue Ribbon sake selections! Guaranteed a good time. 5/5!

Ueki is a culinary gem, offering an omakase experience that surpasses expectations. With every dish, the chefs showcase their mastery. What sets Ueki apart is their unique and ever-changing menu, ensuring that each visit brings new surprises and delights. The intimate space was chic and inviting, the service was impeccable, and Jack added an extra layer of fun with his charm, humor and expert knowledge. The wine and sake list is amazing. Ueki has firmly secured its place as my favorite omakase spot in the city, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to indulge in their culinary wonders.

An intimate, cozy omakase experience that was truly unlike anything I have had before. The biggest highlight was the 10-week dry-aged otoro! The chef explained each course, and it was such a comfortable environment to enjoy delicious food. Honestly a steal - 19 courses for $195. A true hidden gem in the west village.

Wonderful food and wonderful experience. Everything was delicious but especially enjoyed three different kinds of uni, from Santa Barbara, Hokkaido and Maine(!)
Be the first to ReplyUeki Sushi is the new omakase restaurant from Blue Ribbon
Ueki Sushi is the new omakase restaurant from Blue Ribbon Sushi. While the service and the setting are terrific, they have not yet reached the level you would expect from a top omakase (Ito, Yoshino, Noz, etc). Very good, but lacking that extra element.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent omakase by team Blue Ribbon.
The course starts with few appetizers, including Uni, Lobster, caviar, wagyu, sashimi platter and series of sushi. Atmosphere is very friendly and at home.

It is absolutely the best; really fun, funny, top-to-tail delicious. Exactly the right degree of luxuriousness and wittiness in equal balance. It feels like a meal in somebody's home in the best possible way.

12 seats only, so make a resy and arrive on time. The host and the chef were both friendly and attentive. The decor was gorgeous, having the feel of a speakeasy and an intimate secluded bar. The drink menu was more than adequate for me as I am not a big drinker. Good choices of Sake and Champs on the menu. There were more courses than I could count...each one more delicious than the last. We lost track of time and were never bored. It wasn't just dinner, but it was a full experience. Totally worth the money and the time spent. I will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyFood 5/5 was impeccable, everything was extremely well
Food 5/5 was impeccable, everything was extremely well plated and paired. Including only some snippets here. Service 5/5 was above and beyond. Two things I appreciated a lot - the chef asked if I was left handed so that he could rotate the piece for ease of picking it up with my dominant hand; the dishes that were meant to be served hot, he would wait to smoke the pieces individually for guests that went to use the restroom. Ambiance 5/5 very intimate and friendly, as the chefs and waitstaff said, really felt like all the guests were family. Bowie also made an appearance and it was great to meet him in the flesh!
