Super classy very Italian place.
The restaurant is very big and the food was excellent! Ulivo makes you feel fancy while paying very decent prices. The waitress was super nice and helpful. The perfect place to go for lunch. My friend and I spent a few hours here catching up and it was just amazing. Definitely going again.

We came here and were immediately seated without a reservation on Saturday evening. Our server was good and attentive. The ravioli special was excellent and it was the best of our three entrees. The margherita pizza was very good as well. The branzino was tasty but overcooked. Thumbs up for the side of potatoes. Enjoyed the cannoli, we wouldn't order the Italian cake again.

We sat at the bar; because my boyfriend likes to be able to hear me. He feels that it gets a bit noisy when sitting at at table. The restaurant is nice. My salmon over the spinach and creamy cauliflower was delicious.

The ambience was ambient. Creating a warm vibe and cozy atmosphere. Their breads were a little dry but their balaamic vinegrette with lentils was amazing. We also ordered Margerita Pizza, the sauce was really good but the crust was a little thick and doughy. Their pesto pasta was one of the best i have ever had. Right amount of pesto, with right amount of nut and pasta were al dante. The raviolli was great but the sauce was ok. It looked like it was not cooked andstraight out of the can. We also ordered tiramisu which was as expected

This restaurant was one of the best parts of my NY experience. Staff was quick, knowledgeable, and very attentive to us. We ordered the raviolis (the normal plate and also a special plate with stuffed corn and truffle) both were absolutely delicious. It was a little pricey but I have no regrets. I also ordered the eggplant appetizer which I gobbled up. My friend said that the arugula salad was the best salad she's ever had. The ambiance was very peaceful and beautiful. One thing I really enjoyed was that someone came and gracefully cleaned our table before and after our main meal, so the table was always neat and tidy. I will definitely be back when I'm back in the city.
Be the first to ReplyFood's great, the pici alla bottarga is a thing of the gods.
Atmosphere's really quiet. Good cocktail and wine selection!

I've been coming to this place since 4 months ago and is amazing. The food is fabulous home made pasta, super fresh. It just feel like a taste of Italy in Manhattan. The cocktails are also AMAZING we set at the Bar and the Bartender (Juan) gave as almost a mixologist lesson. We are going to come back, for sure!
Be the first to ReplyHad a pleasant family dinner during an NYC trip.
The homemade pastas were great, and there were a lot of tasty and unusual options like spreadable 'nduja in the salami and cheese board, and a special homemade ravioli with truffles and something else I can't remember because it was so good I ate it in about 45 seconds.Nice selection of regional draft beers at the bar, which is unusual for an Italian restaurant, and a wine list with interesting items I hadn't had before. (The one I got was good enough that I found a store online from my phone that had it in stock and mail ordered a case.)Service was attentive and pleasant without being cloying. We'll be back.

Great food, service and ambience! We had a bit of everything and great cocktails also!

I walked across the street to come here after the line out Kazu Nori stretched as far as the day is long. I felt like I was stopping by a tavern on a snowy evening, not expecting to be seated immediately. To my surprise, our party of 2 was immediately given a spot in a cute corner booth from which we could survey the impeccable incandescent atmosphere and artistic touches in the lamps and corkscrews on the wall. We just ordered entrees, and the waiter was very non-judgmental despite the chi-chi nature of the establishment. The cocktails looked good, for what it's worth, but pricey at $17. Our plates came *fast*, within about 5-7 minutes of ordering. They were fantastic - the pesto was excellent, and the cheese in it very sophisticated in flavor. The squid ink was also great, but be prepared for a typically salty and seafoody taste. Our water was militantly attended to and the complimentary bread was a seasoned lentil and olive oil mix instead of bland olive oil or butter. Great service, fantastic Italian that doesn't leave you feeling heavy, either. Looked to have an excellent charcuterie selection also, which I look forward to checking out next time.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my absolute favorite restaurant in Manhattan.
The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. The manager she is very friendly and nice ! Can't wait to return!!! Their cocktail is so good!!! Must try!!

The atmosphere was great. We walked in without a reservation for a party of two and were seated immediately. The short rib ragu (canelloni el forno) was to die for. I got the our New York's Cup cocktail which was so refreshing. ย I would definitely come back to ulivo.
Be the first to ReplyVisited Ulivio during a trip to NYC! The food was FANTASTIC.
It was nice that this place had vegetarian options too! I studied abroad in Italy, and the food brought me back to that time. I recommend the pesto pasta dish and the margherita pizza. The Pinot noir and Chardonnay were also excellent!

Horrible experience the lady was so rude. Food was okay and definitely over priced for the experience. I wouldn't recommend just bec of the experience and not good service.
Be the first to ReplyWarm atmosphere.
Pastas are made with fresh noodles so they came out very quick. My group tried several pastas and they were all just okay. Too expensive for the amount of food.

Absolutely fantastic food and oh wow, the service! Even on a Monday night when they were short staffed, we were allowed to take our time and the service was VERY attentive! I actually ordered both an entree & wine I normally would not have based on Zhen's recommendation, both were absolutely fantastic! So incredibly wonderful all around, very much worth it!

Drinks were great. Food was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't outstanding either. Their Perciatelli Amatriciana was a little too salty for my taste. I didn't get to finish the dish because it was a bit too salty. I'm a big pasta lover- so it was a bit disappointing there. I would definitely try another dish if I get to go back there in the future.
Be the first to ReplyCozy and comfortable Italian spot.
The inside is beautiful and perfect for a date night. The service was really good, our hostess made really good recommendations. The menu has many different options suiting any type of dietary restrictions. We started the night with:funghettifried mixed mushrooms, fresh herbs, truffle oil - this was delicious and simple with each bite packed with flavor!pomodoro, bufala e basilicobuffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, basil - I am a sucker for a good caprese and this did not disappoint For our pasta course we ordered the following :busiate con pesto alla trapanesepesto made with almonds, fresh tomato, basil and garlic - the pasta was flavorful and al denteravioli ai formaggi freschi con fonduta di pomodori: stuffed with fresh cheese, topped with tomato sauce - this was delicious and not too heavyspaghettoni chitarra al pomodorino e basilicofresh cherry tomato sauce, garlic and basilWe finished off our meal with the Tiramisu. Everything was delicious and freshly made.Very quaint local spot in the neighborhood!

This restaurant has elegant decorations indoor, and they do check vaccination cards prior to entry. Food was decent, small portion but ok taste. However, our waitress was really rude to us. She never came back after serving us food, and asked how things are going to the table right next to us, then just ignored our table! I'm not sure why or what we did, maybe is because we only ordered ~$50 worth of food? If we pay the premium money to have a good experience, I expect the service would be at least decent! Very disappointed.

6/5 Food: 4.75/5 - Treat yourself and go to Ulivo. We decided to be adventurous and got the special pasta of the night, which is the rigatoni with braised short ribs and one off of their menu, the malloreddus alla campidanese. Both pasta were amazing and tried both pasta. We liked the malloreddus more at first, but later we agreed that the rigatoni was the winner. The rigatoni pasta tasted like no other pasta I had before. It has a subtle buttery taste to it, but did not overpowered the meat. The more you eat it, the more it will grow on you, like you don't want it to end. Meat sauce was delicious, well-seasoned and pasta is made in-house, so amazingly firm, thick, and chewy. The malloreddus pasta isn't made in-house, but still pretty al dente. It comes with a sweet and spicy sausage ragu. The meat sauce once again was phenomenal, hearty and meaty just how I like it. Only downside is I wished both pasta dishes were more saucier, then it would be perfect. I always like to dip my bread into the meat sauce at the end of my meal. By the way, their complimentary bread was not impressive at all, pretty hard and stale. Ambiance: 4.75/5 - Amazing ambiance for a date night or catching up with friends, both romantic and inviting feel with soft lightings and pretty decor. Definitely have one of the better date night vibes compared to other Italian restaurants. We sat in the corner booth, so the atmosphere was super cute and relaxing, able to see the whole restaurant in action and the cocktail bar too near the entrance. We came in on a weekday for dinner, inside was pretty empty and quiet, so no need to worry about distancing, and able to have a good conversation with your group. ย Price: 4.5/5 - We got two glasses of red wine at $14 per glass and two pasta as entrees, the total came up to be around $80 before tips and tax. For the price and portion, I think Ulivo really stands out, especially for a Michelin Guide restaurant, a good value and steal for all the pasta lover out there. Service: 4.5/5 - Our waitress was great. She recommended us some red wine selection and pasta, and then explained to us where its from in Italy thoroughly, super informative. I would say the service matches with the food, perfect and outstanding. Also, the Italian charm and authenticity were not missed on us. We really enjoyed the experience. BLUF: 100% would recommend this place. Shockingly good pasta, great and extensive selection of wine menu, awesome customer service. Side note: in the menu, pasta dish with an asterisk means it is not in-house/homemade pasta. Definitely try their pasta made in-house.
