Very tasty, attentive service, top wine accompaniment!
Very tasty food, attentive service. Certainly a very high price segment but the dishes were all very tasty. We had booked the wine accompaniment and did not regret it. We were very surprised that sherry goes well with white asparagus. The little cake at the end for my husband's birthday was also very thoughtful and delicious! We would love to come back!

We made a reservation here to celebrate being together for 5 years. It was the perfect choice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone living in or visiting Barcelona. The staff were excellent and catered to our every need. The food was impeccable, I couldn't name a single fault. The atmosphere was beautifully intimate but not quiet. The setting gave a feeling of high quality, which was delivered in every aspect. 11/10.

Fantastic food experience - we were challenged on taste, texture and appearance. And the wine was suitable - we took the small wine menu, but still had a hard time keeping up and getting drunk ;-)

All the dishes were salty! I thought it was amateurish cooking with no ingenuity or technique. The paired wine also had a strong flavor that I didn't like. The sake, especially the daiginjo, was a terrible drink made from chemical fertilizer. In the end, they wouldn't accept the 500€ note.

Everything is subjective and so is this criticism. Second visit, the first very good: surprise menu, 10-12 passes....we had to tell the waiter at the desserts (very attentive and professional) that he would please finish the bottle of wine, since starting the dessert he removed it missing 1/4 of a bottle per serving... if we don't say anything, that bottle at 2.5 times the consumer purchase price (not the price at which the restaurant buys it) is lost in limbo, for a place like this... .questionable. In one of the dishes, pasta, they tell us that if we want truffle there is an additional cost...20 euros per person (I prefer that they advertise the menu for 20 euros more and I decide if I go before seeing that cost on the bill). my opinion excessive). 2 Lustau Pedro Ximenez vermouth for 32 euros and just as the waitress told us, Italian vermouth (Bodegas Lustau is from Jerez de la Frontera) unless you know the origin at that price which is 1.5 times what the entire bottle is worth, right? ?? Conclusion: we will not return again, disappointment. 2 and no more.... Tomas..!!!

Surprise tasting with truly interesting and bold dishes, with international flavours, but always balanced. For me a truly wonderful experience, including most of the beverage pairings. The only flaw: with the chef's table reservation they made us sit at a table behind the kitchen, not at the counter, and the "chef's table" experience was completely missing. For the rest, EXCEPTIONAL.

We had dinner for two, the service is extraordinary, the dishes are fine and refined! We had an idyllic evening, 10 dishes and 2 desserts, there is also the possibility of adding extras like tasting black truffle or having a cheese platter… Some seats in the restaurant allow you to see the chef at work, the kitchen is open and we can therefore enjoy watching our dishes being made! The products are fresh and local! There are few tables in the room which allows you to keep an intimate feel which is very nice! We highly recommend!

Really cool concept executed incredibly well. Delicious tasting menu from start to finish with well chosen wine pairings. We sat at the chef’s table where you can see all dishes being preferred and many of the specific techniques used to achieve the final results. Well worth the splurge if you want to. Food was like art and tasted just as good, and the menu changes nightly so your experience will always be unique.

We visited Uma roughly 10 years ago and the whole experience was utterly amazing. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was buzzing, so we decided to visit again with friends. Sadly, it was quite disappointing. The restaurant was very quiet and lacking in atmosphere, the chef did not come over to introduce himself, which we though rather odd. All of this would have been irrelevant had the food wowed us, it did not. A lot of the courses seemed very similar, a lot of truffle (which in moderation is lovey) , lots of soup like dishes and no meat at all. I get that there is no menu, however, i think if they are not serving any meat courses we should have been told. None of the courses stood out, unlike our previous visit when we were so impressed with everything. For £350 per couple this was daylight robbery. Such a shame as it was to be the highlight of our trip.

Let s start with the positive… really interesting concept: no menu, with an open kitchen and really few tables. The food itself was really good with really interesting combinations and really unusual flavours. We chose the pairing wine and to be fair they were absolutely right choice for the food. The chef had a really light touch and every dish really was well presented. BUT the service itself was a bit underwhelming with various waiters changing plates and leaving glasses of propria wines on the tables, they need to learn how to change cutlery in the right way. And finally the price. 400€… which was more or less what we were expecting but they charge us 10€ for an extra bread (really???) and I asked for a cake for my wife birthday… 25€ for a very very very very tiny tiramisu with a candle on it… honestly those are the details that need improvement.

We had a lovely time at Uma for lunch yesterday. Incredible experience watching the chef's prepare what felts like a personalised meal. The service was great, we really appreciated Martin, the young server who explained all the dishes to us in clear English. We felt all the staff were super friendly, and prompt with meeting our every needs. We were served a number of lovely dishes and two desserts, all but one of our main dishes were seafood, so I guess if we were to ask for one wish, it would have been to have slightly more variety in the meat. That said, each dish was wonderful and well presented. It was a really special meal and would be something we would recommend to our friends!

Fabulous setting, ambiance and service. I was disappointed that there was no wine pairing on offer as it is advertised on the web site. But the server made up for it by checking several things for us to enable us to decide on a wine. There was a good range of wines from very reasonably priced to more expensive. We picked a £34 wine (lower end of the price range) and it was delicious. The food was all beautifully presented. My favourite was the lobster dish - just delightful. And the deserts were excellent. I was disappointed that there was no meat course - a fish dish too many! I would definitely recommend it though.

Sadly, Uma you did not meet our expectations from the moment we arrived. We booked the Chefs Table with an expectation for an exemplary food/wine ‘educational’ experience including exemplary service, however, we were faced with excuses as to why a sommelier wasn’t available this day and why menu changes meant there wasn’t a wine pairing option available. As you would not share the menu in advance of our dining this also meant we could not select our own wines with the knowledge of our foods. The address of this matter to us made us feel uncomfortable from the moment we sat down. All in all for a €500 dinner for 2 you failed to provide the food quality and service expected for this expense! You failed to provide a sommelier or a wine pairing option or to discuss wine & food matching. Food was served at a tepid temperature & lamb was served raw. This was recognised and without any reference, explanation or apology we received a repeat course which was not presented as the initial dish. In addition to this a celebratory birthday dessert was served but also inedible as the filling was curdled and the chocolate was without any sugar/ sweet taste. After attempting to provide a pairing option, with no consultation you charged us €196 which is outrageous considering this was not pre planned by a sommelier or explained to us as a pairing experience. It’s been a privilege to dine in Michelin rated restaurants but sadly this experience at Uma is not at this level and the whole experience we had was a very expensive disappointment.

We were looking for a top-notch restaurant to celebrate our daughter's graduation in, and UMA was our top choice even before actually trying it. Mainly because of the great reviews, fabulous atmosphere and great food photos. Once we went to "try it out" beforehand, we were literally blown away. All the dishes were spectacular (and mind you, this was our third Michelin star restaurant in less than a month), served on incredibly beautiful plates to visually match each dish. The food was amazing, each dish more surprising than the next, and an explosion of taste and texture in your mouth. A lot of fish/seafood, which we love, so no complaints there, nor did we take the wine pairing as I was just after the tasting menu experience. The desserts were mind-blowing, I still remember so many dishes even 2 months later! The service was impeccable and very understated (not pompous and pretentious, like some of the other restaurants...). Iker himself came over to our table to explain one of the dishes we had asked about, and he was extremely generous with his time. The restaurant is also visually beautiful, with amazing works of art by the chef himself. Definitely my kind of funky, modern and quirky place! This was one of my favorite meals ever, beating several of the top-notch restauraunts in New York, LA or London that I have visited. Unfortunately we canceled the graduation dinner there (as the meal takes about 3 hours and it didn't work logistically for some guests), so I definitely want to return - next time to the Chef's table! Thanks Iker for a spectacular evening!!!

This is my all time favourite restaurant in the world! Believe me as a dedicated foodie I have eaten in many excellent eateries and Uma with Chef Iker’s magic beats them all hands down. Iker’s food is innovative ,exciting but above all always flavoursome. The restaurant is stylish and very cool. The service is a brilliant mixture of attentive and friendly. The front of house are also very knowledgeable. It is such a pleasure and a privilege to dine here and watch chef in his open kitchen prepare dish after dish of culinary alchemy. I would say to any serious foodies just get yourself here to taste Iker’s food and BTY you can also enjoy a bit of Gaudi if you need any more fab experiences! Thank you to the Uma dream team for a such a wonderful evening.

We have spent 3 nights for our wedding anniversary and wanted to try something special for our last meal, and Uma certainly delivered, with 14 courses which loved all bar one. Our service was impeccable with explanation of each dish is a nice touch, also had a good Catalonia white wine which was recommended and overly priced and complimented the mainly sea food dishes

If you enter the restaurant you will find a very stylish place which welcomes you. You will find the chef working inside the restaurant and you can watch him meanwhile. The service was very attentive and helpful and let you felled at home all times. The food extraordinary as you can expect in creation in a Michelin star restaurant until one course. This was the Peking duck course. The peace of the breast was totally rear except for the skin that was cooked. This was the main reason why I didn’t give all the five points. Perhaps it’s the intention of the chef to bring the duck to the table in this way but I don’t like rear poultry. I couldn’t understand because the duck thighs came perfectly cooked the same time. Finally it was a great experience to stay at the Uma restaurant.
