Great food but dress code of staff is strange
Great food and location but we are not sure of dress code of staff members. Only one waiter was wearing white shirt and clean apron and he was only one who went around to each table and asked how was food and did you enjoyed. One guy was looking he is going to seaside with small shorts and a dirty shoes. Food is delicious as always but dress code definitely is not impressive.
Be the first to ReplyThey tried to charge me for tap water!!!!
A lovely quiet coffee and a glass of wine. Then the bill came with Water £1 on it 😂. They did take it off when I suggested they did, but really…..,,????
Be the first to Replyno female toilet
Myself and my daughter had lunch today at the restaurant ,meal was fine and staff were lovely ,however on visiting the toilets there was a sign "toilets for all " which really has made me quite angry ,I am not happy to share hand washing facilities with men ,a place were women would retouch their make up fix themselves looking in mirror ,have conversations with other women that would be private amongst women ,letting small children into toilets themselves to help make them independent. Im quite sure that also me would like the same privacy !.I do not understand the way this world is going and if establishments wish to follow this same path then please put a clear sign outside stating that toilets are for all so that people can make THEIR choice on visiting said places .
Be the first to ReplyCoffee in the sun....
Visited Vardo's recently and what a place to people watch. Went to the Gallery near by but before that we thought we grab coffees and a snack. The location is superb, staff are very friendly and my go to place, worth a visit highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyA disaster
Lack of respect to the people standing in line, letting people “skip” the line. On a nice sunny day, Sunday afternoon, it is only normal to have more demand than the place can offer. This is London. Famous to respect people standing in line! On top of that, at 5:00 pm they ran out of sweetener… Never again!
Be the first to ReplyService was ok & food was ok!!
After deciding not to wait an hour and half at another brunch place in Chelsea, we decided to go to Vardo. Huge amount of outdoor seating and we were seated quickly. It's a Saturday so Vardo have a brunch menu. We ordered the spiced golden yogurt granola with berries and whilst it was good, not enough berries and there were only strawberries on our dish. We ordered the hot smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough bread but this dish only came with one piece of sourdough and I feel the portion was tiny. We also ordered the baked eggs in tomato sauce and this dish was good but more bread please. I felt the yogurt dish should have been slightly larger with more different kind of berries and the hot smoked salmon with scrambled eggs needed to be a slightly larger portion The service was ok but Vardo was busy and each time we had to catch the staff's eye to indicate we needed them We also had specifically requested the yogurt to start then the rest of the dishes but obviously the waiter did not take heed and everything came at once. An ok experience nothing special.

appalling service! what's happened to this place? - I would not go back here unless just having coffee.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently good
Had another amazing meal and warm, friendly and gracious service last night at Vardo. I work in the area a few days a week and always make sure I meet friends or business colleagues here and it never disappoints. Ample outside seating area is a definite plus on warm days/evenings and the staff are always super friendly and welcoming. A really fabulous menu with lots of choice and always fresh and delicious. The pizzas should be award winning (as well as the Margarita cocktails!) Highly recommnend.
Be the first to ReplyLocation and food worth going for - staff - not so much - more smiles needed
Expected to wait for a table for lunch on a sunny midweek day. Many of the staff were not very welcoming- a smile was missing from most of them, and service a little haphazard. However, the food and setting made up for all that and we would return again. Prices reasonable considering the location.
Be the first to ReplyGreat outdoor brunch experience
Maybe the only place with such spacious outdoor sitting on King road. Predominantly it is a brunch type cafe, with simple hot and cold foods and drinks. While it took a while to be placed (long queues due to Chelsea blossom festival), service was very fast and attentive. Good job. Liked their amazing batch filter coffee (blend of Kenyan and Peruvian coffees), recommended. Baked eggs plate, fried halloumi, french fries, pressed juice, tea and coffee came at 35 GBP to us (12.5% discretionary service fee included). There are toilets inside. Wheelchair accessible.

Goregous mid morning brunch on the outside seating area in London cool sunshine.
Great coffee, nice brunch and good service
PLEASE SMILE!!!
Food was great, ambience was great - BUT did one if the staff’s relatives die recently? If not, please get them to smile and make their clients feel they are enjoying having them there. All three waiters barely cracked a smile, all had a sullen look on their faces and quite frankly made us feel they couldn’t give a damn!

The food is simply the best! The atmosphere is fabulous, decor is gorgeous everything done so beautifully, great service, delicious cocktails, excellent location!
I highly recommend it!
Always chaos but cheerful
I like Vardo for a quick bite to eat. The food is good and isn’t too expensive. It’s always a bit chaotic and very busy. The interior is nice and bright so, good for breakfast and lunch.
Be the first to ReplyGreat breakfast
We had breakfast here and the food, service and ambience were fantastic. I would highly recommend. Great prices and menu too.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and nice building
Your cannot miss Vardo along the Kings Road: just standing all alone in the middle of York Square!
The place is full of people (rather young) and has a variety of options for drinking and eating and cater for every pit of the day (and night!). Service was very nice and prices…well…they are ok!
Amazing service
Really beautiful restaurant with a great menu and wide variety of drinks, on top of that service is great, all staff is amazing and friendly.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible
We were kept outside waiting for a long time 20 min at least, whilst loads of tables were available. Staff were inefficient and walking around without cleaning tables. We then sat down. Tried ordering and got ignored. We then just left to caffe concerto across the road to finally have a drink.
Be the first to ReplyTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
On arrival the smell and feel inside this restaurant immediately felt dirty and unkept. The wicker chairs on the left-hand side with huge cushions looked messy and uncared for therefore we chose a table with wooden chairs on the right. The table was sticky and looking around the whole restaurant it looked very unappealing. This was at 9.20am in the morning just 20 minutes after opening time!
We ordered breakfast and as soon as mine arrived I knew I will have difficulty eating it as the eggs and the whole plate was covered with chives. This was not mentioned on the menu, so I had no chance of telling the waitress to serve it without. Despite my initial reservations I went ahead and tasted the eggs which were simply disgusting! I don’t eat pork (sausage, bacon) and they were clearly cooked on the griddle where they cook the rest of the breakfast on. Needless to say, I didn’t have a second bite and I left the entire breakfast untouched.
My partner had the full breakfast, and he wasn’t happy with the quality of the ingredients and the presentation either. They must cook everything here on a griddle in the kitchen which doesn’t get cleaned very often, henceforth the awful taste to the food.
The service was very laid back and no attention was given to us whatsoever. Nobody came to find out if we are enjoying our breakfast, or if we needed anything else. They didn’t even notice that I left all my breakfast untouched!
My partner went downstairs to the bathroom, which is UNISEX. According to his description the whole downstairs area including the bathroom was shockingly unkept and felt dirty.
We couldn’t wait to leave Vardo and although we live nearby we would never return! This place overall badly needs to improve on its cleaning and hygiene standards, as well as its staff training to give customers a much better experience!
