Be the first to ReplyGreat Indian veg food near mall of the Emirates’ hotels
This was a hidden gem near our hotel and we only figured the second last day of our trip! But since then made sure to have most of our meals here. Situated right next to the hotels near the mall of the Emirates, they serve excellent, wholesome Indian food at very decent prices and perfectly hygienic and clean (unlike some of the other Indian restaurants I went to during my trip here). The staff does a great job right from cleaning to engaging! Do try if you’re nearby

Be the first to ReplyAffordable and Best South Indian food!
Some of the best South Indian food in Dubai. Variety of options are available and it is all very affordable. Great place for all three meals of the day. Their ghee dosa and filter coffee is my favorite!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible manager at karama branch
Grumpy manager at counter thinks he owns the place with that bad attitude of his. If you are unhappy there then please move on and please don’t reflect it on your customer service. I ask for oothappam and I get served set dosa. I asked him to give me what I asked for and he says both are the same !! What nonsense .

If you are finding difficulty in getting pure vegetarian or especially south Indian food then you can try Vasanta Bhavan, one of the few pure south indian ana pure vegetarian restaurants in Dubai. You will get good quality south indian stuff here.

Be the first to ReplyVery good for BreakFast
Went there twice to have breakfast during my stay in Dubai along with friends. Very clean, tasty and not crowded. We've enjoyed most of the delicacies on offer during both days and price was as well very economical. Will surely visit there in future.
Be the first to ReplyComplete Meal in a Budget
I ate at most of the restaurants near Dubai Civil Defense in Karama except for Vasanta Bhavan. We don’t want to have unlimited Thali as what other nearby restaurants offer, so we went inside Vasanta Bhavan to give their Saturday Special a shot.
We ordered Mysore Masala Dosa and one of the Saturday Specials, Stuffed Paneer Dosa.
Mysore Masala Dosa- is a little bit spicy to my taste. The filling has more onions than potatoes. It is mediocre.
Stuffed Paneer Dosa- is filled with paneer pieces inside. I understand that different restaurants have different take on the texture of the dosa, Vasanta Bhavam has a crepe texture. I prefer it crispy. As for the filling, I like the filling as it isn’t as spicy compared to other paneer stuffed dosas I had. It is affordable too, for only AED 10.00 you already have a complete meal.
Vasanta Bhavan serves reasonable priced food and has a satisfactory service too. It will attract more customers if they can improve the ambiance of the restaurant. I am giving them 3/5.

Vasanta Bhavan is one in a long list of South Indian restaurants with the Bhavan suffix; other notables being Saravana, Ananda and Sivestar. This Al Nahda branch on the very fringe of Dubai and Sharjah is one of four branches. Its interior is simple, presentable and most importantly, clean and cool. There’s a big glass display which allows one to look into their busy kitchen, always a treat when they’re making their giant paper dosas.
I have a weekly routine of pigging out on South Indian for breakfast on Fridays. This was my first time doing the same for dinner…on a week night. And as I was shaking up the norms, I thought I’d try a couple of new items at the same time, breaking with my usual dosa, idli, vada combo. Vasanta has a different set menu for each day of the week. So, from that day’s menu I chose the Paruppu Vada, a crispy and savoury deep-fried fritter made from channa dal and spices. It comes by default with sambar and chutneys. The sambar, heavily accented with ground coriander seed, is excellent. It reminded me so much of the sambar at Royal Garden in Karama.
I then tried their Vendhaya Dosa, a soft and spongy paratha-sized dosa prepared with rice and fenugreek seeds. It is the closest thing you will get to a homemade dosa. I guarantee, if you have this with South Indian friends there will be some reference to mums and/or aunties. Again, this is served with that beautiful sambar and their three chutneys; coconut, coriander and onion – all delicious.
Just to have a reference point against other similar restaurants I have visited, I also ordered an idli and (my favourite) a vada, something my smiley waiter found hard to believe after he’d seen me struggle to finish my last dish. He actually looked back at me on his way to the kitchen and asked with frowned brows and a deep nod, are you sure? The lengths I go to to bring you a balanced restaurant review. The idli, although not made fresh, was fluffy and light. The vada, non-oily with a beautiful crunch to its crust. Both were simply taken to another level with that lovely sambar.
The staff at Vasanta, although polite, only really warmed to me when I was half way through pigging out. It’s usually at this point when I forego all self-esteem and slobber, chomp, munch, slurp and burp my way through the rest of my meal. They must have thought, this crazy Ferengi must either be really hungry or really like our food, because from then on, they were all over me, offering me water and tissues and OMG, the best South Indian filter coffee this side of Meena Bazaar. They can be a friendly lot at Vasanta. So, there you have it – Vasanta, not just your average Bhavan and well worth a visit.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.

Good food in a budget
We had lunch / dinner here. Food was good and filling. The pricing was reasonable (compared to other vegetarian restaurants around). The ambience is not that great. We had to search quite a lot to find this restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyVery good South Indian Eatery
It is very good family eatery for the breakfast , lunch and dinner.
I love sambar and all the other vegetarian foods. Veg.buffet is available in the weekends on Thursday night and Friday night. Really it is worth. All the vegetarian lovers must visit this eatery .
Most HOPELESS South Indian Restaurant
Most Hopeless South Indian Restaurant I have visited ever. No food quality at all. Only solid Chillies. Went with family but came out without eating anything interesting. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
