Famous Cuban Restaurant
Famous Cuban restaurant in Little Havana- must go for the authentic Cubano sandwich. Parking is free at their adjoining parking lot. The decor is curious as there are lots of mirrors (think Palace of Versailles, France) but ordinary tables and chairs, cafe style. Prices are reasonable and service is prompt. If you are not a ham lover avoid the Cubano sandwich as it is loaded with ham. However, there are lots of other choices on the menu.

Dinner last night was expecting more from quality per reviews and recommendations. Service in beginning was great, fast and smiling waitress, entrees too more time but was hoping for great food.Wife ordered chunks of cod dinner she said was very good and especially the sweet plantains, I ordered paella Versailles which is a seafood dish, all seafood was way overcooked some almost tough. Rice and sweet plantains were spot on. When I told waitress she said nothing. Must be normal then. This place was hopping from time we arrived around 7:15 and we left 8:30 there was about 75 people waiting outside.I won't recommend this restaurant but seems it had a great following so choose something other than Paella Versailles.

This was our first Cuban restaurant in Miami, and it was definitely a good one! It was one of the highest rated and most recommended across many platforms. I booked a reservation about one week ahead and was seated about 10 minutes after arrival. They have lots of seating and parking outside the restaurant. The menu was a bit overwhelming for me since I don't think I've been in a Cuban restaurant before. Thankfully our server was super helpful and pointed out the most popular dishes. Service was fast and food was amazing!! The pricing is reasonable. We stopped by the bakery to grab some Guava-cheese pastries that were also amazing! This is on the way from MIA to downtown Miami / Miami Beach so I highly recommend a quick bite after your flight!!

I get it why this place has so many reviews with such a high star. The food was real goood.Roast pork - served shredded, the pork was very tender and well-seasoned. It came with Moros rice, combination of the black rice and bean was nicely seasoned, it paired really well with the pork. And it came with a piece of pork skin that was crunchy giving extra texture and the onions giving extra sweetness to the dish.Braised oxtail - very tender and flavorful too! Came with a side of white rice and plantains.Paella versailles - The paella was my least favorite. It was on a "wet" side and not with the dry crispy bottom like Spanish paella. It was also not as flavorful as the other dishes. But the texture of the rice was just right and packed with seafood; shrimp, fish, mussels, clams, squid, chicken. It also came with a side of plantains. I really liked the plantains. It wasn't mushy, still got some texture, and not overly caramelized which means wasn't too sweet.Pina colada - it was such a nice drink to get. Very refreshing as it was frozen and also sweet. But i could taste the pineapple and coconut. We came at lunch time so it was crowded but the restaurant is big and has a lot of seatings. We had to wait around 30 mins but the time went by as we stopped by the bakery to grab some baked goods too. Definitely a really good spot and a must stop when you're in Miami!

Food was not. Cold and flavorless food.Casavana simply tastes better. Can I give zero stars?
Hands down you're going to have to wait to get in! Plan to queue for up to 45 minutes.... and no, you cannot call and book ahead! They don't make exceptions. That in and of itself displays this restaurant's popularity. Long story short you won't be disappointed. Whatever torture you endured inhaling gorgeous food aromas while waiting will be well rewarded. When you're done eating they'll kinda expect you to go on your way so others can also enjoy. In my opinion it's only fair.
😍
I'll start by saying go early to the bakery side.
We visited the bakery part one evening and I'll be very honest it was too crowded and it seems like they didn't have much left. So we went to the restaurant part and it was also full, signs of a good choice to stop at. We ordered dessert and cafecito. The coffee full flavor Cuban and desserts had very good flavor. The chocolate cake wasn't too sweet and the flan is just right. We were taken care of well and the place is very clean. They will continue to check on you. The feel for this restaurant is very welcoming.
..No frills just good down to earth Cuban food. Service is typical Miami...quick fast in a hurry.
I came here after hearing so many good reviews about how this was the best Cuban place in Miami. The food was great and the service is great too. They really have the place running like a well-oiled machine. Also, the prices are very reasonable.
We got here early for lunch, and had a short wait. The restaurant was packed but service was excellent and food wonderful. We had the Cubano Regular sandwich, Ropa Viejo, with plantains, rice, black beans. Flan and Cafe Cubano for desert. Wonderful! Highly recommend.

We took our whole family to Versailles the day before a wedding. It was about a 45 min wait for a table for 10 people. I started with a guava and jalapeño margarita which was really good! My family ordered some empanadas for the table and I got the seafood paella. The portion was so large I felt like I barely go through much of it. Our waitress packed it up for me to take back to the hotel. Would definitely recommend!

I do not know what happened to this place, but it was one
I do not know what happened to this place, but it was one of the worst dining experiences I had ever had. Waited 45 minutes to get a table in the blazing sun. No shade for the 50 or more customers standing outside. Just a few outside table with umbrellas. Finally got to a table, after 10 minutes a waitress came over and I asked for water for the table. After we received our water we waited for 20 for our order to be taken. I had to go to the manager to complain for him to do anything about it. The food was nothing to brag about. I've been to dozens of Cuban restaurants with much better food. This place is supposedly famous, it certainly isn't for the customer service or the food. Save your time and money, go somewhere else.
Clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and ready to help with the menu items.

Classic and AMAZING! Best Cuban restaurant in Miami! Once you go in and smell the food around you, you're going to go back for more!
😍
This restaurant is located on a corner of the street.
It is a very large restaurant you wouldn't think so looking on the outside. They do not except reservations so expect at least a 45 minute wait. It was very overly packed when I went, but it went quickly because there's little stores around it you can go to the even have the desert bakery right next-door. The service was not the best, but not the worst either, they have a large selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. They have drinks and dessert. Also, they have more desserts in their bakery next-door than what they offer on their menu. I say anything that you took your will be really good everything my table got was super flavorful. I would definitely come back to try every item on their menu.

Best Cuban food in Miami
Hands down the best cuban food I've ever had. Service was amazing, and food was off the chain. I will come back every time I visit Miami. We had the empanadas, calamari, cuban sandwich, and paella Versailles. Everything was delicious. Ask for the cilantro sauce with the sandwich, it's so good.. I always order the empanadas at cuban restaurants. They were so good but the beef was over the top. This place will not disappoint. A must try in Miami.

I love cuban food and I love what Versailles stands for by the quality is horrible now. Every year it gets worst and worst. It's used to be delicious cheap eats now even the plantains come out rock hard, old and burnt. Very disappointed even the pastelitos are not fresh anymore take a like an old piece of bread.

We were passing through Miami on a very long drive home and thought 3:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon would be an okay time to visit Versailles. Wrong. Despite being a Miami institution (& arguably an "American Classic" ) their waitlist system desperately needs improvement. They need to alert guests by text instead of calling names (w/ no amplification) beside a very busy street. After waiting 1.5 hours, our food was as good as we expected (Chicken Versailles, Imperial Chicken & Midnight Sandwiches) but the service was a surprise. Our Server clocked out without notice after delivering our order. Her minimally apologetic replacement was deeply "in the weeds" so getting water or a check was almost impossible. All things considered....we'll regrettably go elsewhere next time.

I know you have read it before, but Don't,Don't , Don't miss this restaurant! There is a reason there is a line out the door and a one hour wait! The food here is so good . Very authentic Cuban food. Our server Wilma helped us with the menu and deciding what we wanted. I had the "Classic " which had large chunks of pork, picadillo, ham croquette, tamale and rice&beans. Delicious! No matter how good it is, don't forget to leave room for dessert. The flan and tres leches cake was unbelievably good as well. The prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. Glad I live on the west coast . If I live within 100 miles of this place, I would have to eat here once a week.
Always ready to please. Great food, ambiance and service. Highly recommended.

This place was amazing! The wait was not as long as expected and the prices were very very good for the food. The shrimp paella was by far my favorite thing, and all the plantains were extremely tasty. The ambiance was quite loud and lively! Amazing vibe and great food

During our stay in Miami, this restaurant was highly recommended on our walk through Calle Ocho. We waited for about 5 minutes and walked into a huge dining area and were seated by the windows. It was a little cold as we were right under the vents. Waiter was pretty attentive. And food was 5/5, delicious, affordable, and provided a great way for us to try Cuban food! The total for 4 people was less than $80, and we were stuffed!
We read about the restaurant online and figured we would give it a try on a recent visit to Miami. Glad we did. The food was great and the service welcoming. The bakery next door was pretty wonderful too.

The classic Cuban restaurant in Miami
I love Versailles, and I eat here whenever I'm in Miami. First off, we always go for breakfast at the coffee bar. It's cheap and amazing. Fresh squeezed orange juice, guava pastelitos (you must try these if you never have), and either cafe cubano, or cortadito, or coffee with evaporado. You just show up, take a number, get your food, and take it to a nearby table. The coffee here is as good as any place in europe. Amazing roasted flavor, and with sweetened condensed milk, or sugar, or plain, you'll want another. At breakfast it's always crowded with local workers, locals, and some tourists, but the staff keeps it moving fast. Ok, so that's the deal for breakfast...For lunch or dinner, it's always crowded, but the restaurant is enormous, and they know how to get people in and out. Even if the waiting area is packed, the most I've had to wait was like 20 minutes, so don't be discouraged if you see a crowd. I usually go for lunch, since it's informal. Inside, it's not fancy, but the wait staff are all seasoned veterans, and they will take care of you. The menu is large, with cuban classics. They have wine, beer, mojitos, etc. I always get the lechon asado (roast suckling pig), and it's like the best pork you'll ever eat. Also comes with a crunchy piece of fried pig skin, which is awesome. Other food like chicken, etc, is great. For dessert, the flan is awesome. Tres leches (cake soaked in three sweet milks) is awesome. Again, you have to get coffee of some sort. Service is prompt, you can get a quick meal, or hang out over coffee, no problem. It's always packed with locals and tourists. You'll see cuban families out for large meal together, and also japanese tourists taking selfies. The staff has you covered either way. Really, this place is an institution, it's a must-visit at least once. And for me, it's my everyday breakfast place when I'm in Miami.
Come early as this place fills up. We stopped here for breakfast and were seated promptly. It took a little while to get service, but all in all, it was very good. We had scrambled eggs with croquettes and a breakfast sandwich.
Very good food! We enjoyed it! The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend a visit. I enjoyed the shrimp creole and ordered a side of black beans and vegetables. It also came with sweet plantains. YUMMY😊
We got there a few minutes after noon on a Sunday. The line was long, but moved quickly. It was our first time there and enjoyed our food. We both got a Cuban sandwich. It was a good amount of food and very good. For dessert, we tried their tres leches cake and dulce de leche cheesecake. Both were great, but if I had to pick out of the two - the cheesecake was bomb! This is definitely a good place to stop by for some food!
This is on the main drag of Little Havana but too far from the Big Bus stop there to walk so it's nice that they have a large free parking lot. We arrived at 1:00 on a Monday and had a 20 minute wait. We ordered assorted meat empanadas for appetizers and I got the ham Croquette sandwich with yuca con mojo [tasted like potoes] and a guava mojito while my husband got the Calle Oche Special and we took home the tres leches cake [pound cake smothered in milk and topped with whipped cream].All the food was excellent and inexpensive. Our waitress was helpful but not as friendly as the one we had at Old's down the street.

Boy what an Institution of Eating! My 13 year old daughter selected this place for dinner and what a great meal it was! Food was fresh and service was prompt and courteous. I tried the Seafood au gratin which was heaped with a generous mixture of shrimp, clams, calamari, monkfish lobster in a homemade cheese souse. Served with hot buttered garlic bread which was delicious as well. Highly recommended!

A restaurant with a cuban style, deco, and food that has the Calle Ocho flavors and gusto. Large dining rooms, lots of diners and, most importantly, late open hours. Recommend the "Ropa Vieja" and the "Rabo Encendido" (although a bit pricey), both dishes are full of flavor. I almost forgot, the Cuban sandwich is delicious. Enjoy.
🤮
Buckle up because this review isn't going to be pretty.
I am generally not a please the masses type just because the restaurant has a reputation, a name, and hype. You can always count on reading an honest objective review from me and that is what this review is. So here we go. This place isn't worth the land it's built on. Versailles has changed over the years and not for the better. Sure, it's popular, sure it's packed to the gills every night, and the hype surrounding it is real. This however, IS NOT a good indicator of what is going on in the kitchen at the moment, nor the recipe of success that made it famous years ago. I grew up flying down to Miami as a kid for vacations with my family and would visit Versailles and it's sister restaurant La Carreta across the street. Every time, you can count on both of these places blowing your socks off. True authentic Cuban flavors, at reasonable prices. This isn't the case anymore. I find myself saying that a lot about multiple restaurants these days. Such a shame. It's the same caveat. Prices and hype go up, quality goes down. Where to begin. First, they now have an outdoor canopy area where their old parking lot used to be (right in front of the place) and this is the new waiting area. They set up some fans and a makeshift bar to appease the waiting public. Well, they need to try harder at appeasing because my family went to eat there a few nights ago, and we waited over an hour and a half outside in the hot muggy weather with those fans that quite frankly don't do a damn thing. The bar is a tactful distraction from the fact that you're about to wait an eternity to get a table. Smart move but also sneakily greedy. They know ppl are gonna drop a good 100 bucks outside on drinks while waiting. When we were finally called, we were escorted to the table and along our path, I noticed several (not one or two) empty clean tables with place settings all while a massive crowd of ppl were waiting outside. The place was in chaos and poorly managed. Why are you having people wait in the heat and when you have tables ready to serve inside? This is a big no-no. The conspiracy buff in me thinks that the waiting area is a scam and them not taking any reservations is purposeful to create more hype for the place. Onto the food. Ugh. If there were such a thing as Cuban fast food, this would be it. The menu is extensive with a ton of options, but I gotta say, when you have a menu that extensive, something inevitably is going to end up getting sacrificed, like food quality, which is what is happening here. I ordered the Palomilla steak, (picture is below). What a bland, tasteless "steak." Completely underwhelming and painstakingly small in portion size. That snack size steak had zero flavor! I had to empty a third of the salt shaker onto it and it still tasted like a tire. It was a hot mess. It was also completely overcooked. My wife and I shared one of the sampler options just to taste multiple things on the menu without blowing a hole in my wallet. The app had 3 small croquetas, two empanadas split in half, and a few yuca fries. Complete rip off. The food in this app is the kind of finger food snacks you could get literally anywhere in Miami. Just go to a bakery and order this stuff. The portions were once again insulting. What the blazes are three tiny croquetas gonna do for a family that is sharing from the same plate. The app was priced very high as well. We skipped desserts so I can't comment on that. I was so dissatisfied with my meal that all I was doing was counting the seconds to get my bill so I can get outta there as fast as I could. My recommendation is to skip this entirely!!! I know it's tough to stay away because of the hype and the fact that it has been on TV but if you absolutely must, I guess go for it but trust me when I tell you, there's much much better Cuban food in Miami than Versailles. As far as I could tell, the best Cuban food in Miami currently is at Palacios de los Jugos on 8th street (the original one). Versailles is letting their fame coast them down the line of mediocrity. It's unfortunate seeing a once beloved cornerstone of Cuban cuisine rapidly descending into irrelevance, to me anyway. To sum it up, it's a tourist trap. People will continue to flock towards this place, but true Cuban cuisine purists, and enthusiasts will know the difference.
😍

Versailles is the perfect place for tourists who don't eat
Versailles is the perfect place for tourists who don't eat Cuban food on the regular, as a Miami local not so much. We waited an hour for a table and the food was ok.The palomilla was not good. Half of it was gristle and the flavor was not great. The ropa vieja was decent but a bit oily. The breaded steak was a bit dry, the desserts were the best part of the meal. I'd give Versailles a try at least once to say you've been but there are so many other amazing Cuban restaurants in Miami that Versailles just doesn't compare.
Do not go to Versailles Restaurant in Miami! The staff is rude and ignorant, they do not understand or fill your order correctly unless you speak Spanish, they fill your order Wrong every time, and then they insult you if you try getting them to correct your order. Bad attitude and Bad Service Every Time! Do Not Go!
😍
Great eats, lots of people, but they move people through quickly
The line was long to get into the restaurant. However, they are extremely organized, and things went quickly. The food and ambience were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the restaurant.
We stopped in for a quick bite at the Miami airport and the food was awful! Went to the cafe 42nd St. in the past not impressed. Too expensive and not worth the hype.
😍
The best guava empanadas
A friend took us to the restaurant, we had only a few minutes and we asked for a cortadito, It is like an expresso cofee, it was delicious, but the guava empandas, were so , so delicious. Before leaving Miami, the same day, I returned for more empanadas. Friendly staff
😍
Iconic Cuban Restaurant.
Excellent food and service on an iconic place of Cuban cuisine and dessert and superb colada and cafe con leche ( cortadito). familiar place.

We did not dine in but got a bunch of empanadas, croquettes and guava pastries to go. They were so delicious, we went back a couple of days later after we went to the Everglades even though it was 30 minutes out of our way. Empanadas are stuffed full and you really can’t beat these prices!
I have been coming here for years and the lines get longer but this is pretty authentic Cuban Dining and absolutely worth a visit. My favorite dish is the Chicken Au Jus and of course the pitcher of Sangria! If your visiting Miami and touring Little Havana this a must!
