A 'hidden gem' is what I would call this place.
Has been our go-to for the past few years. Located in a quiet lot between Stanford Hospital and Mall. Always good parking. Have yet to have a bad experience here. Staff is always nice, kind, eager to help, and make great recommendations. Food is always above average quality, fresh pasta, decent cocktails, and tasty deserts.

Returning to Vina Enoteca, Palo Alto is always a highlight, and my latest visit reaffirmed why this Italian restaurant holds a special place in my heart. The beautiful aesthetic, paired with an excellent wine/bar and fantastic food, makes for a perfect dining experience. However, what truly sets Vina Enoteca apart is its impeccable service. The quality of both food and service here never falters. During my latest visit, I witnessed Monica S., the Event Coordinator, handling a discussion with a prospective wedding client. Her approach was marked by grace and sensitivity, reflecting the highest standards of service and respect. Levent, the Manager, embodies the exceptional service Vina Enoteca is known for. His welcoming style and personal touch make you feel right at home. I was geeted with a warm hug and genuine inquiry about my well-being, I felt truly valued as a guest. I am particular about my food choices, preferring to lead a Gluten Free Keto Vegetarian lifestyle, yet I trust Levent implicitly with my meal selections. Rare, because I don't like to give up control! On my last two visits, he has chosen superbly, never disappointing me. This time, the bolognese served over perfectly cooked gluten-free pasta was rich, hearty, and incredibly satisfying--a testament to the kitchen's ability to cater to specific dietary needs without compromising on taste. I was thoughtfully offered toasted gluten-free bread with olive oil, allowing me to enjoy a classic Italian tradition. I ate every bit! Cheat day, no carbs starting again tomorrow! It's gestures like these that demonstrate Vina Enoteca's commitment to personalized service. From the ambiance to the food and, most importantly, the service, it's a place that consistently exceeds expectations. I love every moment spent there and eagerly anticipate my next visit.

Nice interior, we have no reservations snd are seated immediately. The menu was sparse and the language needed to be translated, so understanding what you are ordering is difficult. Ordered the sashimi salad, or whatever it's called , it came to the table in a pretty huge bowl , 8" across. The salad was very little greens and 3 pieces of small cut sashimi , probably tuna. It looked like super d so mall portions for $28! I had to order the Brussels sprouts. They tasted amazing snd the presentation was in a small bowl , overflowing with sprouts!! Good job! Very good service, very neat and clean facility. For the price snd size, won't come here very often. Once a year or two.

We had reservations and I'd recommend making some as the place gets pretty busy. Really like the ambiance of this place. We were super hungry and skipped on ordering apps. I ordered a Margherita pizza and a blood orange spritz to drink. My company ordered the burger. Blood orange spritz was super tasty and the pizza was light with a fluffy crust! Great flavor. I tried some of the fries and dipping sauce that came with the burger and they were delicious. The bar area was super busy and they have a very cute outside tented patio with heaters as well. Overall we enjoyed our experience and we would come back!

The place has great ambience however the last 3 times the server named Levan has been very rude by not allowing us to come into the restaurant. The place was absolutely empty when he refused to offer us a table and made us feel uncomfortable. We will no longer come to this place. Drinks are amazing, bartender is great but the way we were treated is unacceptable.
Be the first to ReplyDropped by Vina Enoteca on a Saturday night with a couple
Dropped by Vina Enoteca on a Saturday night with a couple of friends and enjoyed some delicious bites. We made a pretty last minute reservation so glad that they were able to accommodate us! I do recommend making a reservation since it was pretty darn busy when we dropped in and the wait would have been considerable otherwise. Let me just advertise the two types of bread that were served at the start of our meal with a simple little olive oil that was delicious! We didn't order any apps and dove right in with a couple of pizzas and pastas. My friends had the bolognese and the cacio e pepe - both of which the enjoyed. I had the margherita pizza which was a total sight to behold and also deeelicious. Honestly would eat that again in a heart beat! I do wish they had at least one red sauce pasta that was vegetarian, but hey I got my red sauce on pizza as my carb instead of pasta :P Next time, I would definitely be interested in trying some of the appetizers as well! Service was friendly and helpful without making us feel suffocated or overwhelmed. The interior and exterior are both sooo pretty and our food came out at a good pace. Prices are definitely on par with what you get in terms of taste and quality. Parking can be a bit difficult and it does fill up. Swing by if you're in the area and craving some pasta/pizza goodness!

Their burrata and apps were amazing! Ambiance is sophisticated but down to earth. Pizza was pretty standard but the funghi stood out!

I love Vina Enoteca! We are so lucky to have it so close to the hospital. I probably eat here at least a couple times a month at Stanford events or with my guests. I think the star is the pizza. The margarita pizza in my opinion is absolutely perfect Neopolitian wood fired pizza. I highly recommend eating it fresh on site but I have also ordered the pizza for takeout which was still delicious. There menu does change a little bit with the seasons. I like their ravioli and bolognese. My least favorite is their cacio e Pepe. They make all their pastas fresh and in house. They allow well behaved dogs both inside and outside! They have an excellent wine list and I have shared many bottles of wine here. All were hits. I do try to make reservations on Tock when I'm dining with friends, especially on busy nights like Friday or Saturday.

Such a cute little Italian restaurant! The food is amazing. They have this delicious pizza that's almost like on a focaccia type bread? Pasta is amazing and their panna cotta is to die for! Great service and the venue is beautiful with its huge lighting structures inside, brick walls, big bar, and adorable patio outside! Actually did an event here and their staff is amazing as well! Definitely dropping by again if I'm in the area!

Such an incredible restaurant! Amazing service and the food was absolutely phenomenal! I felt like I was in a trattoria in Italy. Rocco and staff were wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is beautiful - especially the outdoor area.
We went in here for a Saturday date night and there were mostly couples, but still families finishing up around 8 pm. I always scout a restaurant for highchairs or if it is more kid-friendly to take my kids again. But though ambiance was casual they did not seem to have an abundant supply of highchairs for the kids where I saw parents holding their babies throughout dinner. The food was okay. Our favorite was the caesar salad (sth about having to order that at an Italian restaurant lol) and the octopus appetizers. The bolognese and lasagna was honestly forgettable. Service was okay, but generous pour on the wine!
Be the first to ReplyVenue is elegant, yet not overly fussy.
The menu is tight with excellent house pastas and authentic appetizers (e.g., recently manzo tonnato). It's surprisingly versatile - you can make it a fancier evening out or bring your family for pizza night. Delicious. Thoughtful wine selections reflecting many regions of Italy and lesser known producers, not just the wow" names that people gravitate to. The spacious bar area is its own lively vibe with excellent cocktails and a fantastic amaro selection (the $20 flight is such a great way to get acquainted). Great lounge areas for a dessert date as well as tables for groups. Dinner at the bar is a terrific solo evening plan with attentive service by bartender Giovanni (?)While some servers are less polished than others, everyone I've encountered is relatively efficient and pleasant. They're likely taking cues from Rocco, who sets a high bar for kind energy and warm, gracious hospitality. This isn't a case of an aloof GM behind the host stand or one who pals with "VIP" diners while ordering the team around. I've been there half a dozen times, and each time he is buzzing around in constant motion, taking care of things around the whole space, serving dishes alongside the team, unpretentiously explaining wine options.Pretty much the only place I've found on the Peninsula so far that transports me out of the suburbs to a local spot in a big city - blink and you're in TriBeCa.
Be the first to ReplyI came to this restaurant last summer.
Great experience with good variety including beef carpaccio and some authentic food. When I came back this winter, the menu became very limited and the restaurant inside and outside were so cold! People complained and wearing coats even inside, but nobody did anything.

Definitely a more casual upscale restaurant! The service was great and prompt. The espresso martinis are great and so is the cacio e Pepe!
Be the first to ReplyAnother awesome evening at vina enoteca.
The main dishes changed a bit to a different garnish. was not my favorite but it was good. they got rid of the tuna ceviche appetizer which was a bust. Must try the tuna if it comes back again!
Be the first to ReplyWhat great service! My wife was in the ER awaiting tests.
I ducked out to get to go dinner for me and the dog at enoteca. The extremely nice hostess got our order out in 5 minutes and refilled my 4 legged buddy's water bottle. Good food and great service!

We came here for my boyfriends birthday- very fast and attentive service on a weekday evening. The red wine bottle they recommended was delicious. Of course we had to try their pizza- the margarita and white summer squash pizza did not disappoint. they even brought him a special birthday treat after entrees. We will be returning!
Be the first to Replyawesome everytime i come here.
i kinda wish the entres change but pastas are delicious and the service is 2000 percent:)!

The location on Stanford campus can't be beat, you feel like your dining in wine country with their garden setting. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyI recently back to Palo Alto and decided to try out Vina
I recently back to Palo Alto and decided to try out Vina Enoteca with a friend for dinner. This place is so underrated! Things started out strong as we were able to sit outside on the patio, service was great, and the complimentary bread basket was delicious and fresh. Sadly, we weren't that hungry so we just split a huge margherita pizza and a burrata salad (which were both superb). The dinner ended up being a great deal with more than enough food and nobody batted an eyelash when we didn't order that much, which is saying a lot in Palo Alto. I can't wait to come back with friends to try all of their pastas and some more of the pizzas, and have definitely learned to come hungry next time. My favorite Italians in the area had previously been Terun and Italico, but Vina Enoteca has now taken the #1 spot.
Be the first to ReplyWanted to try this place for a while.
Service was ok. Had to prompt the waiter to come over on multiple occasions. Silverware started out being dirty and had to be replaced. Margherita pizza was flavorless. The pasta with the egg was delicious. Virgin drink was way overpriced for what it was.
Be the first to ReplyI just had my baby shower for 80 guests at Vina Enoteca
I just had my baby shower for 80 guests at Vina Enoteca this past weekend. I can't express what a wonderful job they did to make sure everything went great. They have management and staff that understand the details that go into an event, and they were very accommodating. Whenever we requested for things to be done, we rarely ever were told "no". They tried to accommodate all our requests from decor, menu changes, table settings, seat counts, etc etc!!It's also impressive to see the owner wear many hats and be so involved, which helps things go more smoothly.During and after the event, my guests constantly reminded me of how amazing their food was. I feel that Vina Enoteca is a hidden gem. Every time I go there for dinner, I truly enjoy their food. You can taste how fresh their produce/food is. I definitely recommend this restaurant for dinner or any private events!
