Pity about the service
Staying locally to visit family in Brooklyn who recommended this restaurant We are Australian and weโll travelled Nice ambience but if youโre over 55 bring a torch - you wonโt be able to read the menu Pleasant wait staff with good advice for a $80 bottle of white This was poured into each glass once then plonked on the table for us to help ourselves - it was a well heated restaurant so after an hour the wine was room temperature Not sure what Brooklyn expects of white wine delivery but we in Aus like it chilled and served as needed Water was served once and not refilled The bill was US $162 for one bread, one entree one side and one main which were good We have been told to tip in the US but measured to the service We left cash US $180 Not sure if this is considered value for money in Brooklyn ???? Itโs not so in Australia

Very cute, quaint restaurant off the beaten path in Brooklyn. The food was delicious and the restaurant vibe was very cool. We ate downstairs near the fireplace which was really nice on the cold day. Highly recommend the sourdough pancakes. Staff was friendly and we really enjoyed our time there.
Be the first to ReplyTip-top brunch in a homey setting
We stopped here midday Sunday for brunch. Plenty of outdoor seating, but all taken; we were the sole indoor diners.
We had typical brunch food: an omelette, bacon, toast, potatoes, greek yogurt, fresh juices. The menu is not large, but each of these things was perfectly made.
We also had their house-made Bloody Marys, which were well into "best of breed" territory.
Good, friendly service, good food, great value.
Very good but awful in terms of service and quantity
When we ordered our Cacio e pepe, we were told that it would take 25 minutes before being served. We didn't receive any explanation why. After 40 minutes, we finally received our plate. The quantity was far beyond what could have been expected. Definitively not enough !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We arrived about 10 minutes early in the pouring rain to watch the front staff sheepishly watch us get soaked while two of them walked in and out of the restaurant. It would have been so much more welcoming to invite us in and offer us a warm drink. We were finally invited in when we looked like drenched rats at about 10:27 p.m. It was positioned as a favor. We were one of three parties standing outside in the rain. We were immediately sent to the basement, where I could smell carbon monoxide. We were taken away from a fully empty restaurant that was bright and had windows, and escorted downstairs. That was ageist and unwelcoming. The food? The grits were great. My $18 ham and cheese grilled sandwich was delicious but way overpriced. The coffee was poorly brewed, weak and extremely mediocre. There was only milk, no cream or half and half. The front staff needs to take a class in service. I would not drive to Brooklyn to spend almost $90 on brunch for three, when the staff did not have the skills to be welcoming. I have never written a bad review before.

Love the vibe of this cozy place in the beautiful DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn. Very easy to get to from city on F train, and a nice scenic walk from the station to the place. My boyfriend and I went for drinks and a snack as our first stop of the night for his bday celebration. We both had the Vinegar Hill drink and it was outstanding. We also ordered the bread and butter....DELICIOUS. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the artistry of the bartender, as well as the chefs in the open kitchen with hearth oven. Definitely coming back here for drinks and dinner!

My friend and I loved our brunch here. The blueberry pancake was especially excellent. The atmosphere is chill and cozy, and the staff is lovely. The menu is very limited, but that just guarantees you that youโll get good dishes. Prices for each were around $16. Make sure to make a reservation, as it fills up pretty quickly.

Very enjoyable evening
A quiet, out of the way location, in Brooklyn, that I have been to before but never rated
Staff was attentive and friendly and both our meals were well above average. Definitely a place to go back to.
Terrific neighborhood atmosphere, but food left us wanting
A refuge on a rainy night. Cozy as people gathered around the small bar waiting for tables. Eclectic, thoughtful wine and beer list, reasonably priced . . . Really wanted to like this place but hate to say that bread and butter, which were awesome, outshone everything else. The cheroulah spice on the halibut overwhelmed the fish, and everything else I put in my mouth the next 24 hours. I should've said something but I didn't want to wait for another dish. The pork chop was sliced, with little else on the plate, and didn't have the wow factor. Maybe I'm being unfair and if others have enjoyed the food, perhaps it was my off night . . .

We had brunch here and although there were constructions around the place, it was really quiet inside. The food is great, not a huge menu but I think the owner is quite confident of the whole menu, food was good and service too.
