Super pricy sushi restaurant right in front of the Palazzo
Super pricy sushi restaurant right in front of the Palazzo Hotel check in lobby. Service is good and the restaurant has fun decor with unique design features in the hallway, main dining area and bathroom foyer. Menu has various unique and staple sushi/sashimi items. We enjoyed all of our fish items but the meat/wagyu items were served at a lower temperature than we preferred. All food comes out beautifully plated!

This place was amazing and is a must try if you love Japanese food. Everything consisted of high-quality ingredients, and you could taste how well thought out each dish was from their salmon nori tacos to their wagyu gyoza. The service was top notch. I casually mentioned how I've never tried potato vodka before and one of the bartenders was kind enough to pour me a little to try. We were celebrating a birthday as well and they brought out some decadent ice cream with edible gold on top. Classy af. The ambiance here had the right amount of darkness to compliment the luxurious japanese theme they have going on. Overall, this place was amazing and I will be back.

Be the first to ReplyWe had an incredible birthday dinner here.
Craig our server was amazing and truly made the experience. We told them how much per person we wanted to spend and just let the chef choose what to bring. The sushi and sashimi dishes were all 10/10! Vibe inside is also super fun, great music!

Wakuda was truly one of the most unique and incredible restaurants I've ever been to, and it left my family and I speechless. From the chef to our waiter, Curt, everything was top notch. It was clear that there is a real passion in the food and a focus on delivering a world-class experience for guests. If you are going to Las Vegas, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is still low-key enough to feel like a hidden gem and it delivers above and beyond in every single facet. MUST GO!

5 hr later. We sat at the bar and Chris, our bartender was so awesome! He was very knowledgeable regarding the cocktails and gave us great recommendation for food too. They made our birthday celebration so special!

Recommended for perfection in Japanese cuisine and impeccable service, at a very dear price, although not bracing for Las Vegas and the Venetia, generally. We dined about 7pm, February 26, 2024. The ambiance is low lighting, brown upholstery with beige accents, and Japanese-ish art, notably with two bright-white sumo sculptures squaring off in the center of the dining room. Dark, we had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. The music was kind of thumpy, energetic disco-ish, louder than pleasant. We received an enthusiastic welcome and prompt seating upon arrival. The hosts asked if it was an occasion; unfortunately, not. Upon seating, our waiter came over to point out drinks ideas. I went with a "Ode to Senpai" (Japanese whiskey, ginger, honey, lemon), somewhere between an old-fashioned and a whiskey sour, and my wife tried a "Snow Monkey" (Monkey 47 gin, Lo-Fi Gentian Amaro, lemon, yuzu, egg white, kinako powder), pretty unique flavor, closer to a Collins? For dinner we went with the six course chef's tasting menu ($175/diner): mixed seafood ceviche, oysters, sea bass miso, salmon nori tacos, and a selection of sushi. The ceviche came first, brilliant, super-thin slices stacked in the ceviche sauce. Otherwise, the nori tacos were quite delicious but the nori wrapper was a little tough for a clean bite, while the tacos were just too big to work in one mouthful . The sushi was great too. The standouts were the sea bass and the oysters. The sea bass was perfection on a plate, the miso baste added amazing umami to the incredibly tender fish preparation. This would be my choice for an entree order. The oysters, seemingly on the small side, burst with flavors of the sea, with two different sauces, one coming through a saucy topping of rice wine-vinegar and chiles, the others with more of a citrus-vinegar note. Tasting menu portions were satisfying, not over-generous. I'd guess a la carte ordering might offer larger plates for larger appetites.
Be the first to ReplyService sucks.
Food & Ambiance is good but the hostess at the front desk had the worst customer service, this place was not at all welcoming whatsoever. The girl with the purple hair needs better training!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant really knocked it out of the park.
The ambiance when you arrive is posh and artistic. Start your meal with a drink, you won't be disappointed. As a sober gal I really appreciated the quality and attention to detail on the mocktails. I tried both and they were 10/10. I also really appreciate that they have a low abv cocktail menu as well. We came here in celebration of my birthday and were interested in doing the chefs selection. Due to my shellfish allergy, our fantastic server Vincent was able to customize a tasting menu just for us in the same price range as the 6 course tasting option. Every single dish they served us was phenomenal. It is not hard to see why Chef Wakuda has been awarded 2 Michelin stars. My favorite dish was definitely the Kanpachi Carpaccio! I could just eat 4 plates of that and be satisfied This is a high end restaurant so expect to pay high dollar. It's worth it for a special occasion or celebration!

Gone here multiple times like way too many times because it's so good and addicting. There are multiple pictures from this restaurant scattered all over my camera rolls so here are pictures only from my last visit. The food? absolutely breathtaking, absolutely amazing, it's wonderful you've got to try. My favorite dessert is the miso ice cream with the gold foil on top, makes my body feel cool afterwards and it's so yummy i get one every time. Our server is always extremely helpful and patient also super polite to our family and always there when we have questions about the menu. They also tell us all the details about the food once brought out which i find super helpful. The decorations are really pretty and the lightings is dark which gives me an after dark arcade kind of vibes. There is always music playing which helps enlighten the mood. I totally recommend you give this sushi restaurant a visit next time you visit the palazo or las vegas!
Be the first to ReplyWay overpriced for level of service and ambience.
We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and I do not recommend. Just not...special. Decent but not remarkable food. Timing of courses was way off -- we felt rushed with a new course being set down as we were taking last bite of prior course. Like they were trying to turn the table. Oysters were good. Sea bass yummy. Good wine selection and friendly, helpful sommelier. A little loud as well - a bit clubby. Overall I say save your money and get your Japanese food fix elsewhere.

The food was amazing! We did the private dinning for my birthday and had the opportunity to taste a lot of the dishes and I was blown away with every bite!!! Everything tasted so good! My trip is short else I would go back there again and again!

My husband and I were here for the convention and could not wait to try Wakuda! The ambiance is amazing, the staff was spectaculr, and the food was high quality and fresh! We would most defiantly be back! We highly recommend this Resturant to anyone who loves Japanese!
Be the first to ReplyTHE FOOD IS NOT GOOD.
With those prices you would think it'd be at least somewhat decent. Wagyu roll had no flavor. The sushi (including the most expensive one otoro fatty) was fishy. The carpaccio which is what they advertise the most was chewy and not that great. THE SERVICE IS MID. Waiter was snobby and pretentious. Like chill you're literally just a waiter. The ambiance is the only thing they have going for them but in Vegas you can find somewhere with ambience AND good food. Hard pass.

Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance, quality service, food was not good.
I took a date here and we had a great time and enjoyed our drinks and conversation. We both have eaten at good restaurants all over the country. We are experienced foodies and both immediately commented after each bite of every dish. We were on the same page. The food was garbage. Was it worth the $720 bill? Maybe for the experience and the good laughs we had together. But we both left hungry after ordering so many different dishes that we only took one bite from . I would recommend Wakuda as a spot to pregame it in the lounge for drinks and enjoy the wall art of the geisha with condoms in her hair.
Be the first to ReplyMost of the food has great flavor, but pricing is very high.
A $45 king crab means getting the smallest crab leg in my history, literally a half inch diameter at best. Actually a real joke. The whole lobster was pretty good and the sushi was very tasty, everything is just quite expensive for what you get. The staff was very good,
Be the first to ReplyI'm really mixed on our evening at Wakuda.
The space: Beautiful. Separated from the casino lobby by a long hallway, with gorgeous Japanese-style woodworking accents, modern art, pretty lighting. The food: Exceptional. The Iberico yakitori will haunt me. The nagiri is stunning in presentation and quality. Surf and Turf really lovely. Even the edamame was exceptional. But vegetable tempura was nice, but not stunning. The drinks: Amazing but brief Japanese beer list. Fantastic cocktails in beautiful glassware that paired well with the food and made use of interesting Japanese ingredients. We didn't order wine or sake but a scan of the list showed some really high quality choices, particularly beyond the usual suspects (though we did witness the Somm convince the table next to us to buy two bottles of a monster $500 Napa cab to go with their lobster tempura...)The service: Our server was great; he was knowledgable, helpful, gracious, and everything you would want. However-- the bussing staff were overly eager to clear and managed to time their attempts at questions to the instant we placed high priced delicious food into our mouths, on three separate occasions. No, I'm not going to gulp it to answer you. Go away. The pacing: Terrible. Very slow to get rolling because they don't drop the food menus until you've ordered drinks. 45 minutes from being seated until first food arrived, on a slowish night. Not a dealbreaker, but still not great.I'm always leery of fine dining that relies upon the tired "our plates are made for sharing" trope to hide the fact that the kitchen can't pace the meal. And there was an interminable gap between our tempura and the arrival of the surf and turf, seemingly because the kitchen wanted to batch several orders of that together, as one of our neighbor tables received two plates of that at the same instant we did.The expense: Huge, in a town known for expensive restaurants. Not really okay given the missteps noted. And that's why I'm not sure I'll go back. Honestly, I kinda wished Morels was still there.
Be the first to ReplySorry to say our experience did not meet our expectations.
We were excited to try Wakuda, and while the ambiance is lovely, it took forever for our server to show up, and then she confused Chardonnay with Cabernet, mistakenly thought we ordered 1 salmon dish instead of 2, and when we asked about vegetables, she recommended the Wagyu beef. The premium sashimi looked interesting, but at $200 was enough to feed a baby bird. The roasted vegetables were very dry with a dash of sauce. Can't order a decent bottle of wine for under $200. The espresso martini was good, according to the couple we dined with. The dessert was the highlight of the evening, which literally looked like a rock but contained a delicious Cointreau mousse. At $800 for a dinner for four, I'd say there's way too much competition for fabulous dinners in this town to say we'd ever return.

The ambiance was 5 star and the hostess were inviting and friendly. We only came for drinks since we had a reservation for food else where ahead of time. Let's just say the drinks are perfectly crafted with a knowledgeable staff. Our mixologist was an Australian gal who recommended incredible cocktails and treated us like royalty. We definitely recommend this place for a fun night out or if you just want quality drinks and service. Thank you everyone at Wakuda for a memorable experience definitely returning and bringing friends.
Be the first to ReplySo yummy ms all the staff were so attentive.
The dining experience along with the quality of the dishes was stellar. Jeremy was our server, he knew so much about each dish and didn't make us wait on anything, we loved talking with him.

Wanted to give this place a chance and give them a good review as well but here are the negatives:- Sloppy with reservation, confirmed but when we got there they said it was cancelled- Once the reservation was reinstated, it took forever to get seated (not a huge deal but we were needing to get to the club in a timely manner)- Waiter was NOT friendly, pushy to have us order massive amounts of food considering we were a group made up of primarily tiny asian girls who just wanted a quick bite before the club- We're all American born Asians but felt like we were treated like second class citizen FOBS the way we were spoken to by the waiter...come on, this is an ASIAN-themed establishmentOther than that, food was decent, ambiance is what you expect from an overpriced Vegas restaurant. Definitely would not recommend unless you're going there on someone else's tab!
