The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is where luxury marries
The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is where luxury marries unparalleled service. From the moment you step foot in this opulent marble white lobby accented in emerald green, you're greeted with smiles and helpful staff. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel's design is lavish and over the top. The service at the Waldorf Astoria is extraordinary. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest's needs are exceeded. Whether it's arranging transportation or providing recommendations for the best dining options in the area, the staff's dedication to hospitality is unmatched. My junior suite was beautiful. It had a fireplace which was a standout and rare feature. Every corner of the Waldorf Astoria exudes elegance and charm! I absolutely loved my stay.

Ten, give it a ten! Thank you to my Hilton card Amazing value They recently bumped the annual fee on my Hilton card from 99 to 150 or something like that. Still my go to card. The points on the card do not compute quite the same as some others, but with the bonus points on restaurants, gas stations, nights at Hiltons and some other categories you still come out ahead. Meet the minimum card spend for the year and get a free night for almost anywhere in the Hilton portfolio. Thus, my stay here. Concierge reached out a week or so before the stay. Asked if any special requests. Told him high floor and early check in time. Both requests were fulfilled. Arrived early on Friday, allowed to check in and got a floor just a couple away from the top. Reality land the night before and after at other Hiltons. Still great at those, though. Fantastic to stay one night at the cynosure of all things civilized in Chicago!

First time we have stayed at this property and loved everything about the hotel. Every member of the staff was helpful and friendly. We stopped at Bernard's and even though we did not have a reservation, they made space for us. I loved the Speakeasy feel to the bar. My wife loved the spa and was amazed by the array of Pilates equipment. When checking out we learned the hotel was pet friendly and met a super sweet pitty. look forward to staying there again.

Be the first to ReplyReally loved this hotel and their hospitality.
It's understated but still elegant. It's practically a boutique-type of hotel because I believe there's only about 10 rooms per floor. The room itself was very comfortable and I absolutely loved the balcony. The balcony and fireplace in the room are worth coming back for simply because it makes the rooms feel so cozy...and I love being able to get fresh air in a hotel room. Also, beautiful view and superb location. Close to everything and in a very walkable area of town. It's not as "bougie" as hotels off Magnificent Mile seem to be but I actually much prefer this area as it has it's own unique vibe. The staff was very attentive and they made the stay very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if I came back to Chicago!

Super nice hotel! Love the terrace (although I'm scared of heights), the room service, customer service and room amenities. Very clean rooms and room service is extra nice - they fold your clothes that are laying around! Definitely a luxurious hotel experience.

Enjoyed our stay here as the location was perfect for walking just about everywhere. Rooms are top notch. Gym was small and space near by was under construction so hopefully it will be bigger eventually.

I was a victim of domestic violence, I called for help, the pretended to keep me safe then they asked me to also leave in the pouring rain with no car after spending $600 for my room. It was a mediocre hotel at best our room was small and stunk like mildew and not to mention our sheets were dirty on checking in. worst experience of my life. Don't waste your money on this old dump.

Booked this hotel and had to cancel due to a family emergency. I missed the 48 window cancellation and called 36 hours before. The front desk charged me still and even though I am a diamond member, they did not care and were very rude to me. I have stayed at Hilton properties for decades and have never experienced this bad of customer service. If you want to be treated with respect, I would avoid this hotel. They are rude and do not care about customers.

What can I say the hotel as you know is lovely; the food at this restaurant is terrific. They're doing an amazing job. The ambience is just wonderful. Service impeccable and the food is delicious.
Be the first to ReplyThis hotel is just gorgeous.
We stayed in a terrace suite with a fireplace situated on the 12th floor. I've spent 31 of the last 35 days in hotels thanks to a combination of work travel and leisurely travel and the Waldorf-Astoria impressed me like no other. We decided to have an easy morning and just enjoy the room and order in room service for breakfast. It was delicious. I had the Lobster Toast, he had the Eggs Basket breakfast, and we shared the coffee cake pancakes. It was a perfect way to ease into day!I can't give enough compliments about the staff either. Everyone was kind, delightful, and eager to accommodate. Easily a five star hotel stay that I hope to experience again in the future.

It is difficult to imagine that there is a nicer hotel than the Waldorf out there. Maybe there is. But everything about this place is high end, from the location, to the property itself, to the staff, it is truly a 5-star experience.I don't think I've ever really stayed at a place with door-people. And I have only had my car valeted once or twice in my life. So those were new experiences for me. My room was not quite ready when we arrived, which was disappointing, but we had a glass of wine at the restaurant in the lobby while we waited. A bit pricey, but what do you expect? It was tasty and convenient. The room was certainly worth the wait. We ended up with a suite on the second highest floor, complete with a balcony. The view was absolutely stunning, but the room was even better. There is a bar area, a living space with a fireplace, a very large bedroom, and then a stunning bathroom with a massive tub separate from the shower area. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable, and there are two mirrors/sinks which helps with getting ready for going out.Room service was expensive, but quick and friendly. We requested the cart to just be left outside the door most of the time, but they are happy to bring it right into your room if you'd like. One thing that I found confusing was that the website had mentioned a "No Tipping" policy. And our room service checks included an 18% "Gratuity". But there was still a line for tips. Which I mostly left. But I didn't bring cash, because I wasn't expecting to be doing any tipping. So while I was able to tip my valet and the man who brought our bags up, I didn't have cash for the guy who brought our beers one night, or the housekeepers. I was disappointed over the confusion. I always want to make sure that people are taken care of. And although the prices here are extremely high, I would still have been happy to tip additional if I had known that was something that would be expected. So maybe bring some cash if you're like me, haha.Lastly, the area is just really spectacular. I grew up about an hour south of the city, and this was how I always pictured Chicago. There are so many great restaurants and bars within walking distance. Lots of shops, and public transportation is very convenient. You won't really want for anything in this area.I haven't been so pleased by a high-end experience in a long time. This was a rare occasion, meant as a celebration for my birthday, so it might be awhile before we do something like this again. But if you are looking for a spectacular experience and have the money in your pocket, I think you would find this an extremely pleasant accommodation.
Be the first to ReplyIt's the Waldorf Astoria.
Granted, not *the* Waldorf Astoria in New York, but it carries the brand name very, very, very well. Everything you would expect from the Waldorf, with great, attentive service, very clean public areas and rooms, phenomenal friendly staff, super comfy beds, etc. We enjoyed it every bit as much as we enjoyed the Waldorf Astoria Berlin. We had a Deluxe King. The room was huge, and not even close to their largest. There was a working fireplace which we put to use a couple times while there to make it cozy and it was Chicago in December, so why not? The private bar was well stocked, and we enjoyed a small bottle of rosé to unwind between things. Room service was excellent and friendly. Had a bottle of sparkling wine brought up. Later we had turn down service - I don't know what the review from Levi S experienced, but our experience was great. We each had a bottle of water and a chocolate left for us when we came back to the room from an evening out.The bed was SOO comfy I had a hard time getting out of it to get the day's events started. I could have just nested there for hours longer.Reviews of the bar and the restaurant will be separate (hint: they were also excellent).
Be the first to ReplyI made reservations for one night for my husband's birthday
I made reservations for one night for my husband's birthday along with our wedding celebration since our honeymoon is not until Jan. I called the hotel a few days before and asked if I had dessert sent to the hotel, would they plate it and put it in the room so when we got back from dinner it would be there. They said they could do that. I also called back the next day to tell them the David Yurman store were going to drop off my husband's gift to the hotel and if they would hold it until the next day when we arrived, as we were coming from out of town. they said no problem as long as the name matched the reservation, which it did. Saturday we checked in, no gift. I called David Yurman and was told the girl at the front desk, most likely the same one I spoke to, refused to accept the gift. Saturday was the Lighting of the Lights parade so DT was a mess. I couldn't get to the store to pick it up so huge kudos to David Yurman store because the manager showed up a second time at the hotel an hr before her shift on Sunday to drop of the present. Also, dessert was left in the room in the brown bag it came in and no utensils. I had to call room service and waited for forks. I really wanted my husband's birthday to be extra special and thought the a hotel like the Waldorf Astoria would be able to handle a couple requests. With the amount spent for a single night, you would think they could manage customer requests. I have worked in several hotels and/or country clubs and never failed on customers requests. So disappointed. thankfully David Yurman and Eddie V's has exceptional customer service! On another note, the spa needs some updating. Showers were out of service and its outdated. we also woke up Sunday to no hot water. The only hot water was in the spa.
Be the first to ReplyWe really enjoy our stay thus far here.
A bit disappointed in the room. The picture for the room I picked showed a couch and we only have one chair and no table except the desk. Wanted to spend the holiday in our room playing cribbage but with no table that will be tough. Also the room " had a fridge" but it is basically a wet bar filled with alcohol and no real room for anything. The view is beautiful and the bed is super comfy, love the pillows and bathroom. The terrace is very nice with two chairs but again no table! There is not even a small coffee pot which is disappointing. We will come here again but will definitely choose a different room. Still enjoying our stay and look forward to the holiday. The peacock lounge is stunning and Bernard's lounge is very lovely

What a beautiful hotel with great staff! I had lunch at the restaurant- Steak and Fries - and they were cooked perfectly (the potatoes in duck fat yum!). Everything was seasoned well and served with ketchup AND mayo (I appreciated that).I had my car washed while I ate.The staff from valet, to security, to concierge, to front desk, to hostess and my awesome bartender Floyd were amazing. This hotel is pristine. My bill for the amazing food and a cocktail was only $46 too!

Yea it's expensive here- yes the prices are a more different than the last time you were here- I agree it's very overpriced but the service and amenities are so worth it/ the spa is Divine- and my goodness it's worth it! You're worth it!!!
Be the first to ReplyI went for a quick last minute trip with two of my kids.
The staff was amazing during our stay. Thanks Adam( the new guy from Cali) lol my daughter still talking about the princess in the hotel hiding . The house car drivers were extremely helpful and made sure I got my daughter meds. I gave three stars because I wasn't aware renovations were going on. The shower wasn't draining properly and the housekeeper( which I'm hoping was just an accident and believe it to be kind of) threw my toddler purse away. She's a toddler so I have no idea what all was in her purse/tote but I do know my pandora bracelet was in it. The lack of follow up is my concern. I've heard from two gentleman now in regards to it but it was only to say someone else would contact me. I'm heartbroken because some charms I've found out will not be able to be replaced. I want to believe it was honestly an accident but the material of the purse is a give away.
