Terrible Customer Service
Having booked this restaurant months in advance for my wife very special 50th birthday and advised the team, we were placed on a table by the kitchen. We were travelling from the UK. The restaurant was busy and we were seen as second class citizens. We moved tables and the food and wine was good, however the attention to detail for a special occasion was completely ignored. Not even a happy birthday or even we hope you enjoyed your meal. At $291 for steak and chips and a bottle of wine is a complete rip off. This was a special occasion let down by poor service which we had to pay 18%. Would rather eat in the best Kosher restaurants in London who pride themselves in customer service. Would not recommend for a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyWorst restaurant Ive been to in New York
I am only giving one star because I can’t give none. The young people working there treated me like they didn’t care if I was there or not. They ate in front of me and I had to ask for service. The food was so terrible they took my plate away full and threw it in the trash without asking me if I would like to have something else prepared or offering to remove it from my bill. I live in Beverly Hills. I am used to overpriced food, but not as overpriced and undeservedly so as this restaurant. I was forced to pay more than $70 for a sandwich and a cocktail!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Name; That’s It
My wife and I are in NYC for a few days just for fun. As we keep Kosher, we look forward to the broad selection of restaurants in the City. We went tonight to Wolf and Lamb, a Kosher steakhouse I’d heard of pre-Covid. It seems to get good reviews and has a great name. Other than that, I can say nothing good about it. The service was totally disinterested, and the food was totally average. I ordered my steak medium-rare, it was medium; my wife ordered her lamb chops rare, they were medium. We sent hers back; I gave in and ate my 20 oz bone-in Ribeye, which was fatty without much meat. Not even a “sorry” (or sign of life for that matter) from the waitress for the meat having to go back. The french fries and mashed potatoes were also average. $300 for a totally bland meal and disinterested service. I don’t know if this restaurant is not what it was pre-Covid (which I’m noticing in a few places in NYC I knew from before) or it’s been living on past reputation. Whatever the case, stay away. There has to be better in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyFood is better than the service
We ate here twice. Once it took a long time, and once it took forever. And it was difficult to communicate with the staff, as almost all had poor English. The food was good, but nothing special. For the price, I would expect better all round.

Decent - if unspectacular - food, and below-average service. Our waitress was good but she was just one part of a fairly lacklustre team. Let me try and break this down for you. Arrival. We had pre-booked but had to stand ignored in the entranceway while three or four staffmembers fiddled around behind the bar to our left, including a daft-looking dude in an orange bucket hat who turned out to be one of the guys who washes the dishes. We were seated by a bus-boy with poor English and minimal social skills. Not ideal. Food. The food was ok, but cost a ton of money and was poor value. General rule of thumb: steaks were better than salads, salads were better than pastas… in terms of both taste, and value. There was a reasonably decent wine list with some pleasant Israeli selections. No more than a three out of five from us, I’m afraid.

we were for a short visit in New York. I wanted to meet my beloved cousin Jill, with her grand daughter. we met for dinner in wolf and lamb restaurant and enjoyed the meeting with great food. the only thing that disturbed me was the music that was too loud and didn't let us talk quietly.
Be the first to ReplyBistro character, low key, well flavoured food
light supper, short rib gnocchi, well cooked and flavourful. disappointing selection of wines by glass, and not great quality.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive but a great treat
Nice to be in a city with lots of kosher restaurants, and this happens to be one of the best. We walked in without a reservation, but only had to wait about 10 minutes. Delicious!
Be the first to ReplyWas here with a group of 11.
Was here with a group of 11. I had lemon and herb chicken and French fries, wife had salmon, both very good. Our host had a burger and asked for medium but it came fairly raw. Several members had steak, and all enjoyed that. The lamb chops looked awesome. On the whole, a good meal and nice ambiance but I found it a little overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing and overpriced
I've heard good things about Wolf and Lamb for years so I finally decided to try in on my recent visit to NYC. The ambiance was nice, but most of our food was very disappointing. And, the price-value was way off. We went with the casual/sandwich portions of the menu and ending spending well over $300 for burgers and chicken sandwiches for 4 people. On the positive side, the appetizer meat pizza was very tasty and the fries were great. That's there the good stuff ends. The soup of the day was awful. One chicken sandwiches was so bad (rubbery and tasteless) that I had to send it back. The replacement was acceptable, but the focaccia buns were not fresh. One of the burgers was burnt, but we ate in anyways. Very disappointing.

I got a small steak and my wife got the gnocchi. Both were good, the gnocchi maybe even a bit better than expected. But, I have to say this was my first dining experience ever in New York that I just didn't understand why the prices were so high. Everything on the menu seems to be consistently twice the price that we see at other nice restaurants. It's hard to make a direct comparison, but this place makes Tavern on the Green seem rather reasonable. If you are nearby, I'd certainly recommend Wolf & Lamb if you have an expense account credit card.

I still can't get over how good the food and experience was at Wolf and Lamb.
Food:
Everything was presented elegantly and tasted delicious.
I ordered: Spicy Chicken Tenders, Brisket Sandwich and the Ground Beef Hamburger.
Out of all three that I ate (though my table ordered much more), the chicken tenders were surprisingly the best. They were perfectly spiced, the texture was delicious and the sauce was a bonus hit. It might have been the best chicken tenders I've ever had.
Service and Ambiance:
Our waiter was very kind and friendly. We did not wait a long time for the food. The waiter always made sure we had enough water :)
It was a polished restaurant and had a very comfortable atmosphere.
Bottom Line:
It's absolutely worth your while when in NYC. Make a reservation online!
Delicious Final Meal in NY
Our waiter was knowledgeable and recommended lovely dishes. The meat portions were on the slightly smaller side, but delicious nonetheless.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Experience!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with a large group. The food was excellent, and in particular, I enjoyed the lamb chops!
