Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
This establishment needs no introduction but for a town
This establishment needs no introduction but for a town rife with hospitality that can under deliver due to supply/demand, Bel Air is consistently 11 out of 10, from prompt and thoughtful service with recommendations, speedy food delivery and exceptional food taste and quality. Really the best of the best in Los Angeles. A pleasure as always.
Beautiful setting.
All food was incredibly over-salted. Disappointing for the price (which is exorbitant, but you expect that). The bar is nice but avoid the restaurant.
Not really a fine dining experience when the staff do not
Not really a fine dining experience when the staff do not pick up dirty plates after finishing. They left them there never clearing them. Wait staff seemed not attentive. The bill was $500 for caviar & champagne. C'mon pick up the dirty plates..... Caviar was delicious.

Came here for a graduation lunch and it was the perfect spot. Great service. The bread was terrific. The Shirley temple was great. Truffle fries are a must order. Highly recommend the salmon. The vanilla dessert is a must order. Such a great setting. Highly recommend
So beautiful as a location but the food and service has
So beautiful as a location but the food and service has gone downhill. It's no longer a Wolfgang restaurant and it shows. It's now flavorless hotel food and while the server was nice they seemed overwhelmed. No longer worth the price.
Oversold the restaurant to my friend celebrating his
Oversold the restaurant to my friend celebrating his birthday and was nervous based on the recent reviews. We went on a Wednesday afternoon for a late lunch and couldn't have had a more positive experience. All our food was wonderful and wouldn't think twice about going back. The grounds are lovely - and even got to see three baby ducks. Staff was amazing and took special care of my birthday boy who was over fifty! The food was top notch. He has still been talking about it days later. Nice way to spend a lovely afternoon celebrating a friend and would definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Bel-Air for afternoon tea today! Everything was fantastic- Lucas was a great server!! We even got to meet the talented pastry chef Christophe, what a treat! The food offerings are delish, the setting is lovely. Perfect pre Mother's Day visit!
I used to go to the Hotel Bel-Air for all kinds of special
I used to go to the Hotel Bel-Air for all kinds of special occasions growing up. Graduations (of all levels of school), birthdays etc My husband and I went there not long ago because we were considering getting married there. TBH, the restaurant is different now. The food was okay but not spectacular. The service was fine. The setting will always be second to none. Walking through the grounds is incredibly special.. Go to see the swans .. they are just beautiful. But maybe go for happy hour.. Enjoy!
So sad, end of an era.
*please note this review is ONLY for the restaurant, not the hotel itself.* We had brunch Sunday at the restaurant and unfortunately it was one of the worst meals/experiences we have had in Los Angeles. We LOVE the hotel Bel Air. My parents had their engagement party there! We have had many wonderful stays. Unfortunately, the restaurant for brunch is a disaster. 1) took over 25min and asking 3 times to get a glass of champagne and a mimosa 2) took over 30min (yes, 30min) and asking multiple times to get our first order of coffee 3) we asked to order an omelette, server took the order, and 10min later said there was no way they could make an omelet. At noon. They only offered a frittata and refused to make any other egg dish. Scrambled? Nope. Omelet? Nope. Poached? Nope. If it wasn't on the menu, they couldn't make it. Charge me $100 but don't say you can't make an egg dish for sunday brunch. How is that possible... We are happy to spend $500 for brunch for 4 people. That's luxury LA. But to spend $500, get terrible service, and not be able to order an omelet/scramble at noon on a sunday? That is wild. I cannot imagine a hotel guest paying $2,000 a night and not being able to order an omelet. There are so many wonderful hotel brunches in LA (Maybourne, Penninsula, Sunset Marquis, Pendry, Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hilton, Waldorf, etc). Avoid Hotel Bel Air restaurant at all costs (unfortunately).
My husband and I dine on a weekly basis in many upscale
My husband and I dine on a weekly basis in many upscale restaurants in Los Angeles and never had such a poor experience. We made a reservation agreeing to a $600 set menu and noted that we don't eat shell fish. In my worse dreams I never imagined to be served the same first and second course with out a substitute for the main part of the dish. Even our waiter was shocked. Basically we were served six tiny pieces of asparagus for the first course and raw pickled onions for the second. We were both shocked. As for main course we were told we cant have the fish because of the shell fish included couldn't be changed. I am not sure why did your restaurant even accept our reservation. It would have been so much better had we were told that you can't accommodate the shellfish restriction. We would have gladly booked a different experience. Please understand we aren't looking for a refund. I am looking for an understanding why the Hotel Bel Air chose to ruin our Valentines.
*** It seems like this spot gets a bad rap.
*** Its current below 4-star rating is absurd imo. Guests are affable, friendly, some celebrities. Staff is genteel, attentive and quite pleasant. Ambiance is bright, airy & quite comfortable. So as far as service goes definitely ... 5-stars Smoked salmon benedict on point ... 5-stars Blueberry pancakes were superb ... 5-stars Espresso and french press coffee ... 4-stars I fail to see why many yelpers hating on this. It would seem that it is mostly due to prices? Sure, it is pricey here... hello, this is in Bel Air. The typical breakfast entree costs ~$40 here. If that's not to your liking then just do not go. *** Otherwise it's a great spot for brunch. ***
5 stars for the ambiance hence why we chose this place to
5 stars for the ambiance hence why we chose this place to discuss luxury realestate however very average below with the mussels we ordered. 3.5 for the service. 2 for the food which was a disappointment. The bread was $18 and fresh The Diet Coke was $9 a bottle so my expectations were a bit high not to mention the $20 parking fee with a validation. Very high ticketed lunch meeting. Our salad had more flavor than the main dish and the presentation was beautiful. Much to my disappointment the mussels were in a very bland sauce. I could smell the aroma of the saffron but I wasn't getting any flavor from the sauce. Very watered down. They didn't have spoons and took away my fork much too soon without giving me new utensils from taking away the salad. I am sorry but I was disappointed and expected a lot more since I was entertaining a client.
Egregiously overpriced for what you get
Two of us each ordered the Turbot. For a $70 main course, this small, overcooked/dry and oversalted piece white fish with a small swirl of sauce was so very disappointing. There are multiple excellent restaurants in Los Angeels- but Hotel Bel Air is not one of them.
Today, my family and I dined at the restaurant at Hotel
Today, my family and I dined at the restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air for the first time. Let's begin with the customer service. Our first impression was positive as we were warmly greeted upon arrival and given the option of sitting inside or outside, which we appreciated. While the food was good, it didn't quite reach the level of spectacular. I ordered the black truffle pasta, which I found to be a bit too buttery and in need of more flavor. On the other hand, the cucumber drink with tequila was absolutely amazing and I can understand why it's a specialty of the house. We requested the lobster pasta to be made with shrimp instead, but unfortunately, it was lacking in shrimp. However, none of these issues were as bothersome as the valet attendants informing my husband about a minimum tip. They explicitly told him that a $20 tip was the minimum. Although spending $800 on dinner means that $20 wouldn't make a significant difference, it's the principle of the matter. I would prefer if they simply charged $20 for valet and allowed us to tip as we see fit, rather than dictating the minimum amount. Would I recommend this place? Well, if you happen to be passing by and want to grab a meal, then sure. However, overall, it's nothing particularly special.
My wife and I couldn't make it back to Los Angeles this
My wife and I couldn't make it back to Los Angeles this year for the Holidays since we live in Europe and we decided to gift her sisters and Mom afternoon tea at The Restaurant. I've had dinners here with friends and for meetings in the past and have always had a great experience. My experience arranging tea for my wife's family was very smooth and the team at The Restaurant was extremely accommodating given some last minute changes. My wife's family said tea service was excellent, champagne list was good and overall they enjoyed some relaxing holiday time together in a very nice setting. I would strongly recommend The Restaurant for tea service or dinner and thanks again for their team for helping to accommodate everything!
We took our family to the Hotel Bel Air restaurant for what
We took our family to the Hotel Bel Air restaurant for what was supposed to be our Holiday Brunch last Sunday afternoon. Expensive? Very! However, there were so many people with their dogs in tow, it was as if we were attending the American Kennel Dog Show! Even more disgusting, some of the many dogs were allowed to sit at the table next to us and eat off a plate while the alleged owner stupidly looked around for privileged praise. Worse, and as we were leaving, some of the dogs were defecating on the grass adjacent to the swan pond! Owner's looked at us as if to say "what are you staring at!" After we got home, my wife found our daughter's legs were ravaged with flee bites! Never again!
Birthday and anniversary
We booked for our anniversary and my husband’s birthday what can i say it was amazing the service is exceptional and food gorgeous after we finished our meal we moved to their bar and cocktails were very good.
I visited the Bel Air Hotel for my birthday on Saturday,
I visited the Bel Air Hotel for my birthday on Saturday, and I must say that our server, Juan, was exceptional. He went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. Providing fantastic menu recommendations, he was incredibly hospitable. Our orders included Huevos Rancheros, a pastry basket, and French press coffee, all of which were delightful. Juan surprised us with a dessert, crème brûlée. It's a must have from their dessert menu! I have to say the seasonal spice muffin from the pastry basket was my favorite. If you're seeking fine dining and an incredible ambiance, I highly recommend the Bel Air Hotel. I'll surely return. Thank you, Juan, for your outstanding service!
We wanted the Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air to be something
We wanted the Restaurant at Hotel Bel-Air to be something other than a nice hotel restaurant in a fancy hotel, but at the end of the day that is all it really is. The food was all good and presented well but $15-$20 per item overpriced which is hard to justify when the food isn't incredibly special. Service was good but not the memorable service you expect at these price points. The ambience was great however and it was fun to walk around the resort afterwards. Do I feel like I need to rush back? No. Was it fine for what it was? Yes.
It’s fine.

Great Experience
This is a cozy and elegant restaurant, with a minimalist decor. The service was impeccable, attentive, and professional, without being intrusive or pretentious. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the wine pairings. The whole experience was a treat that I will never forget. Restaurant is not cheap, but it is worth every penny for the quality and exclusivity of the food and service. It is a place to celebrate a special occasion, or to treat yourself to a once-in-a-lifetime meal. This is one of the best restaurants in the area, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves fine dining.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
