Incredible Special Occasion Meal
We had a wonderful time at Yeni. The food was amazing as was the service and cocktails. It was expensive, but defiantly worth it. Alongside 9 courses we had hot fresh bread, an amuse bouche and coffee on the house. Defiantly an unforgettable experience.
Be the first to ReplyEvery dish a winner
We were made very welcome from the instant we arrived & throughout the meal, the service was great. The food was amazing - we tried almost the whole menu - 7 of the 8 shared plates & one main (scallops - excellent) plus bread between the 4 of us. Couldn't choose a favourite dish - all delicious. Even my husband who isn't a fan of aubergine loved the manti dumplings. The desserts are for sharing & we chose the Turkish rice pudding (sutlac) with berries which was yummy - very different from the rice pudding I hated as a child. Will definitely be back next time we're in London.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely worth a visit
Great restaurant, an interesting menu of Turkish food with a twist and plates designed to share. Serves are generous and staff are helpful. We ate upstairs in the newly opened area and it was lovely, cosy and with a really nice atmosphere. Recommend for an upmarket but casual meal in soho.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible Service!! Will Not Return!!
Honestly, the food was OK but the Service was well below par! Frankly very poor! The restaurant insists to squash all A La Carte diners upstairs, in cramped tiny tables and I sat in a table for two and my chair kept getting kicked Every Single Time a waiter walked past! Honestly I wanted to Get Out of that Restaurant as Fast As possible last night ! I will Not Return as the food was nothing special and the waiters looked at me with disdain when I didnโt order more than a glass of wine!!
Be the first to ReplyYou shouldnโt have dinner in Yeni !
I never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. I booked a table of 6 for the salon, and when we arrived they told us that we must have the set menu which was ยฃ69 without wine or any drink. We asked for โa la carteโ menu and they rejected our request because theoretically I booked for this set menu. I did not specify for any type of booking, the app just says. โSalonโ, but they have a โhiddenโ message on the bottom of the app explaining this. Imagine how impossible is to find it, that they have a printed copy of the message to show you at the restaurant ( they should have received a lot of complaints to have that printed... On top of that, as they did not want us to consume a cheaper menu, they threatened us with charging us ยฃ35/person if we left. The excuse? A โnon-showโโฆ quite funny! We ended up having dinner there because we could not leave. Were we trapped? Anyway, they preferred to to make the most money 1 day, than to make a good experience for a customer who will come back again and again. Thanks for stealing us, Yeni. XX
Be the first to ReplyExtraordinary Turkish food
extraordinary. this word describes the whole experience. Great turkish food. we had the set menu to taste as more plates as we could. you should definetely have the "manti with fermented yogurt" and the lamb. If you are in Soho it is a must! Thank you for your hospitality
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food and felt rushed
We had dinner at the first floor room that offers a la carte options. The menu was quite short with only a few starters and "mains" (which were also like starter portions) but more importantly, were not flavourful at all. The aubergine dish for example was bland with 10% aubergine and 90% yogurt. We were a group of four, but only had 90 minutes table time. Even though table time limit is very common in London, it is usually 2 hours for a group of 4 , 90 minutes is way too short. It was extremely annoying to be rushed through the whole dinner, constantly asking us if they can clear the plates while we still had food on them, and while many tables were actually empty! Overall, I would not recommend this place at all.
Be the first to ReplyNew Upstairs Tapa Menu, Continuing Innovation
We visited Yeni a year later, and the restaurant has opened an upstairs to complement its small first floor. It was still packed and still unique in its modern reimagination of Turkish food. We spent just over 90 minutes there, which went by too quickly. Our first visit we did an entire tasting menu and spend some three hours. The owner-chef is remarkable. Everything fresh, subtle, complex, balanced, delightful, and new.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, sharing plate experience
We had a really great meal at Yeni! Weโd recommend going for the Sharing Menu which is a great way to try multiple plates on the menu, and is good value for the price you pay. Our favourite courses were the Aubergine, Prawn and the Manti dishes, but they were all truly great. The staff were really attentive, and although the time limit had been communicated politely in advance, we didnโt feel rushed and enjoyed our meal at a fairly leisurely pace. Will definitely be going back!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed with the food, portions and prices- Nothing close to a Turkish food
Such a big disappointment Food was OK but not for the price Service was ok but not for the price paid. I never thought that beetroot would cost 16 quid I never thought that a piece of aubergine topped with bluecheese would cost 20 quid And wines starts at 40+ quid. This is not a Turkish restaurant so donโt be fooled with its origin. It was going to be OK if they half the prices and double the sizes.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but poor and slow service
Yeni food is really good, the scallops I found were excellent and super tasty. The lamb was slightly dry, while the aubergine main was incredible. Now on to the service which is true real problem here. The 4 of us sat down at 8:30 PM and we managed to order only at 9:10, it was 9:30 when drinks finally arrived. Then very slowly we started to get the dishes. At 11 PM we were still waiting for one of the mains. The overall service quality is poor: itโs a one person โshowโ in the dining room, a senior head waiter taking all the orders and poring the wine. There were 3 more waiters that keep walking around without really understanding each tables needs and help with e.g water or bringing the necessary cutlery. None of them seem to really care and we saw them standing for a long time near the chef as the food was not ready and they had โnothing to doโ whilst we had run out of water and wine.. So you can go for the food as it is delicious, but on a Saturday eve you might not find the best service. I canโt comment on what it would be on other nights though.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional and underpriced for the quality
Exceptional across the board. Let the restaurant choose my dishes and I was blown away. Beautiful food and amazing flavor. Grateful to have found this place!
Be the first to ReplyLove on a Plate
One of the finest dining experiences of my life. The food is a journey of taste and imagination. We decided on the three sides and a main: perfect for two people. From the aubergine main to the beetroot (slow cooked, it tasted almost of beef) to the amazing rice dessert with the lightest candy floss youโve ever tasted and the not to be missed pistachio ice cream, itโs like Love on a plate. You must go.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but rushed service
The food was lovely, Turkish sharing plates is a wonderful idea and a great way to try the cuisine with others. However, we felt rushed to eat quickly and leave. I was aware of the time limit on the table for two people, however, we were asked many times if we were done with various plates on our table (we were not) and then towards the end we were told that we needed to go and were given the bill. I'd like to note it was 5 minutes over the time, and we weren't seated immediately. I had ordered a mint tea with my desert, which didn't come right away, and then it was steaming hot...so wondered how you expected me to enjoy it in such a rush. I topped up a small cup with cold water so drank some and then I asked the waiter for some cold water so I could drink it quicker, he forgot and then remembered but by that time we were getting up to leave. I am not sure if we were particularly slow eaters/chatting too much or if it was a case of we would have been gone in about 5-10 mins later than the time the staff wanted us to leave. The food was great and also the wine which was one I haven't tried before, the staff were also really nice with recommending etc. so the aspect of rushing just spoiled it a little.
Be the first to ReplyINCREDIBLE!
If you have not tried Yeni yet then you are missing out. What an amazing lunch shared with friends and family. Tucked away off the main street is this amazing little restaurant. The food was incredible and service was amazing. We will most definitely be back again.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect tasting menu
Me and my colleagues visited Yeni London, and really enjoyed 10-course tastung menu. It was as if we were on a culinary journey in Anatolia. I will go there again for another special occasion.
Be the first to ReplySuper tastes, great service for a meal with friends
Simple decor. This is all about the food (and wine!)
In advance of our arrival, communication with the restaurant was excellent.
The tasting menu was stunning. The artichokes.......!
Friendly attentive staff. Really nice "buzz* to the place. Many thanks.
Good food, poor service
Good food, if quite expensive. We had the tasting menu and our waiter did not take allergies seriously. Despite telling him I had a nut allergy, I was served four dishes which contained nuts and told to eat around them. There was also not the option to substitute meat with a vegetarian dish. Expected better service, considering the steep price of the meal. All the other dishes were delicious.
Be the first to ReplySimple and tasty
Small menu but very tasty all the plates we tried. I could say that it is a little bit overpriced for the amount of the plate but hey. Michelin star and Soho

Amazing food with great creativity! You would never guess the ingredients and match the taste just after eating a bite. Big congratulations to chef Civan and his very friendly team who gave us an opportunity to experience the well know Turkish food with great sense of taste and creativity. We had chef's tasting menu and it was incredibly full-filling with great Anatolian full-body red wine. We will be back and discover more.
Be the first to ReplyExciting Food!
Yeni really does offer something different and exciting to what you'd expect from a Turkish restaurant. There is a very clever waft of the experimental that makes for a great dining experience. We opted for the tasting menu which we are so pleased with...it was a sensation each dish exquisite. Not often you go to a restaurant and talk about the tasting journey you've experienced afterward - the dishes here haunt you for a while after (in a very good way!). It is expensive, but it's worth it especially if you want something a bit special it left our taste buds singing!
Be the first to ReplyWay overpriced, tiny portions
5 of us visited for a long awaited get together, upon reading the offering, it looked pretty good. But when asking the waiter on recommendations of how much to order, based on it saying 'sharing platter', we were advised to order 3 or 4 EACH ๐ณ, this would've brought it up to around ยฃ50-ยฃ60 per head... without drinks!!
Despite the taste actually being pretty good, the portion sizes vs cost simply didn't stack up.
Sorry Yeni, but you're not THAT good! Of all the places to choose in Soho,I wouldn't recommend this place at all... only a 2 star because it actually tasted good... but that was it
Small portions and expensive
The menu offers sharing plates . One would expect these be big enough to share but they are only small starter size . It was suggested we had 3 each which would be about ยฃ50 each . The 2 courgette flowers on the plate were very tasty ,the dumplings slightly disappointing and the aubergine dish also nice but the small portion . A full meal for 2 with the expensive wine would give little change from ยฃ200 . Front of house and service was good . I agree with Jay Rayners review which I suggest you read
Be the first to ReplyIntimate setting, spectacular Turkish food, a total delight
This was the best Turkish food I have ever eaten, including in Istanbul and Ankara, devised by a master chef, Civan Er. He balances savory, spicy, sour, sweet, and peppery in dishes that are just the right size. If you want, you can sop up the sauces with the delicious bread, but then you not be able to sample as many of the remarkable - and different - dishes. Most of these are cooked on a wood stove right next to the dining area, if you like, you can watch the chef and sous chef work. We were especially impressed by the aubergine dishes, but the lamb was as tender and flavorful as I've ever experienced, too. The only warning is that because the place is small, they can only give you two hours to eat to make way for the next guests. This can create a little pressure if you order (as we did) the tasting menu, so arrive on time. But in summary: this review is a rave, because this place deserves one.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, terrible attitude
The food in itself was quite yummy. However, the manager made the dinner experience extremely unpleasant. Weโd booked an early reservation and were well aware of the two hour time limit. The manager however reminded us as we walked in, then 10 minutes later, then 30 minutes later. He reminded us at least 5 times during the dinner, although we were already eating quickly and it was clear we would be done before the time was up. He brought us the check before our desserts had even been brought out, 20 minutes before our time was up.
The service charge is included in the price of each dish, so itโs not even possible to remove it.
The portion sizes are also RIDICULOUSLY small for the price. They are quite literally laughable.
