A reference for Korean Cuisine ~!
Since we were a large group of a hundred people, we could enjoy most of the dishes in a buffet version. But the quality was never compromised. Many dishes that represent the most were very delicately prepared. The ingredients felt very fresh. Whole grains rice, pork (BoSsam), JabChe, Jellyfish salad, Bulgogi, sweet chicken, fish fillets, and so many more specialty dishes were all and each of them faithful to the flavors. I recommend anyone who seriously wants to discover the authentic Korean gastronomy to visit this place. I think you should always make a reservation in advance, not 100% sure.

We celebrated new years day at this restaurant. The place is clean and well-organized. The service was good while the food was tasty. Galbichim and sujeongkwa were the best.

Okay, I admit. I am spoiled. Growing up with grandparents from North Korea (refugee from North during Korean war) that had a Hotel in North aort of makes you be a culinary snob. So when I go to restraunts, especially Traditional Korean restraunts, I am rather picky.
There have been two restraunts that made me sit down and sigh "this is home..." One is a place in Ahyundong, Seoul. And the other is Yongausan. The course menu for lunch is what I usually get. I used to visit here a lot when I lived in LA. Now I moved away so when I am in SoCal I really try to squeeze in a time to come here.
If you have never had a formal Korean dining, swallow the ticke shock and experience the culture.
One of old but premium Korean restaurant at the heart of the Korean Town
You can never be wrong in this famous place, when it comes to Korean food. Just so good in every way, except the price.

We had the taster menu which I was a bit wary of at first because in many asian restaurants (particularly Chinese) these are for non natives. However this their speciality. Their menus give you the opportunity to try many small dishes. The problem was we were just 2 people and there was way too much food. Formal atmosphere where you can book a small room. Prob best to come in a large group.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of our favorite Korean restaurants. A nice array of dishes served in a more formal style in private rooms. Favorites include the 9-dish pancake, bibimbap, soups and BBQ.

3.5 stars, YongSuSan is truly A-Ok. It's funny because we used to pass by this place all the time, but we never felt the need to give it a whirl. The only reason we did was because of a vendor recommendation. My photographer for my wedding was Korean and he said THE spot for Korean in-laws meeting for the first time is YongSuSan. The hubby and I gave it a test go and we liked the course meal so we booked a room. So your food comes out in courses and the presentation is nice. The servers are also dressed in traditional-style Korean hanboks. The place was cute, and the food was good, not great. So if you ever have to do an awkward meeting of the families, I'd recommend YongSuSan.

Somewhat pricey, but they delivered value. Flavors were true, service was good. Valet did not have entrance fee. We took an infant and a toddler, and your own little room is just great. I would definitely return.
