Archer & Goat New York Reviews from The Last Year
Lovely restaurant in a great spot!
Booked in advance for lunch and asked if we could be seated outside given how hot it was on the day. Service was great, not rushed, just as we like it. Calamari starter to share, it was enough for two, and the chef certainly knew how to cook squid. The seafood pasta was filling, the prawns were huge. Lovely restaurant in a great spot.
Worth a visit.
Lovely place in a great location. It sits right on the edge of Bryant Park, with indoor and outdoor seating among trees and dappled sunlight. The food on the other hand, is a little hit and miss. Iโd booked earlier in the day (my first in New York) because it was around the corner from my hotel. The staff were lovely, and accommodated me when I asked to sit outside but the food service was pretty standard. Outside is quite dark because thereโs no lighting at one end - itโs not a problem, but it can be difficult to see the food properly. The jumbo lump crab cake ($19.50/ยฃ15.50) - salad leaves, halved cherry tomatoes, and then the crab cake, was absolutely drowned in a thick honey and mustard dressing that overpowered it. After a disappointing start, the main was much better. A Thai duck salad - duck leg and breast, with mango, papaya, peppers, onions, peanuts, and a large cracker holding it all together. It was undeniably tasty, and an absolutely massive portion. I had a really delicious cocktail too, called Smoking Pineapple. Fruity, smokey and spicy - really good. All things considered, Iโd recommend a visit, especially on a sunny day or warm evening - itโs hard to argue with the location and atmosphere of this place.
Our friend is ultra VIP here, so we enjoyed a delicious
Our friend is ultra VIP here, so we enjoyed a delicious array of tasty brunch dishes. Creativity-wise, A&G is better than 95% of the boring, overpriced egg brunch spots south of 125th St--but don't tell the plebs that. - Chicken Vindaloo Arepas: Spiced, seasoned and flavorful. Don't skip these. - Langostino & Saffron Pappardelle: Off the dinner menu but available for brunch too. If you like your noodz long, thick and slurpy, get this. - A&G Hot Chicken Sandwich & French Fries: The sauce was a bit too sour-sweet for me, but some people love that flavor profile. Those people will likely love this. Also, pickled strawberries. See what I mean about creativity? - Breakfast Arepas: Classic yet new--hanger steak, cilantro hollandaise and poached organic eggs but with so much more flavor than Euro-leaning restaurants. I'd eat this every day if I could. - Skillet Lamb Hash: More pulled lamb than ground lamb, but mixed with those potatoes, peppers and onions, and you'll be baaaaah-ing with pleasure. Libation-wise, you'll find some unique mocktail AND cocktail creations to suit every palate. The Fig mocktail, for instance, was warm and sweet without being overpowering, while the Guava Mocktail brought the tangy ginger on, and the Hibiscus Ginger mocktail nicely balanced tang with floral notes. South Asian-LatAm fusion FTW!
Heavenly!!
It was a gorgeous day so a beautiful experience on the outdoor patio, with loads of trees and flowers. The service was excellent. I had the ravioli, and I can't remember a better lunch in years -- not too rich and just so many great flavors. It was a unique experience. And, actually, the total cost was less than I expected. I can't wait to come back again. BTW, the outdoor patio gets very busy on lovely days like today, so either go early or be patient. Any wait is worth it!
Good restaurant in a beautiful location near the park
Sitting outside when the weather is nice is wonderful! Nice tables and cloth napkins, even outside, good service. Light dishes like salads are pretty good and reasonably priced. We recommend the quinoa salad or tuna salad.
Jewel of Bryant Park Indeed
We stumbled upon this restaurant as we looked for lunch, and we loved the tented area of the restaurant. It was a spring day, sunny, however a little chilly, so having the available sunlight pour in through the tented area was very welcoming. Attentive greeting and service (with no reservation), we had prosecco to start, then Cobb Salad and charcuterie, and just relaxed and people watched a little. We looked around to see impeccably dressed 'Ladies Who Lunch' around us and we felt in an definite atmosphere - not touristy, but of the area. A definite high point in our culinary adventures in NY, and we would return.
Perfect
Fantastic, everything perfect, expensive bill but in line with the place, precise service, fast, excellent food quality, recommended
Great neighborhood restaurant with good cocktails.
Food is good and service is excellent.
It was fine.
I loved the FOH staff. They really went out of their way to accommodate us. Service was fast, pleasant, and efficient. But the food was only OK. And at these prices it should be excellent. Or at least really good. I had the lamb hash for brunch. Everyone tried it and thought it was meh. I figured I'd still get the yummy lamb taste regardless of whether the meat was shredded. I was wrong. It would probably be better as a "pulled lamb sandwich." The brussel sprouts were really good. But they were nearly the same price as an entree. I don't see a reason to return except for the fact that the bar vibe seemed cool.
Very nice place and service! They have a really cute patio
Very nice place and service! They have a really cute patio in the back, The food was also amazing, My only issue was the portions! Small amounts!
I really like the vibe of this place but honestly the food
I really like the vibe of this place but honestly the food and service can be spotty. They seem to be at their best during brunch hours so I would recommend checking it out then. The Brussel sprouts are delicious and I would highly suggest them as an app!
Food was great, I had the Skillet Lamb Hash.
I was definitely pleased with my dish. I went on a Sunday and had a reservation. Service was so-so, but it was a busy Sunday since the weather was nice!
Family restaurant
Very pleasant atmosphere and nice place on Bryan Park. Very good dishes and impeccable service. Good value for money for New York
Bryant Park Grill
Best Happy Hour cocktails!! Itโ was conveniently located in the middle of Bryant Park. Lovely atmosphere ! Carlos the bartender is so friendly, personable and makes us fantastic at his craft!!!
Great food, great service.
My first visit I ate at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and the drinks perfect. On our second visit the back dinosaur area with its open kitchen was a pleasant surprise.
Really good vibe, r&b music, bar menu & cocktails.
The bar is my favorite spot to enjoy new food/drink delights.
This may be my new favorite place and I haven't even tried
This may be my new favorite place and I haven't even tried the back garden seating yet! With only a handful of tables (including 2 high tops across from the bar), ceiling fixtures in the patterns of the owner's zodiac signs, and a staff that either was or felt like family, the atmosphere is intimate and upbeat. Food was delicious with unique combos paying homage to the owners' Latin American and South Asian backgrounds, portions were generous, and the whole experience was welcoming and just fun. Can't wait to go back with friends so we can try more things! Sorry we dug into everything too fast to take pictures! Almost forgot to mention nearly everything was gluten free (except the burger bun and date cake) - had no issues and I'm extremely sensitive.
Start by saying everyone was sooo nice.
I was frustrated before I got here, however the bartender and the manager made sure I left with a smile. The food is great as well as the drinks. Definitely a hidden GEM.
Beautiful view
I always go back to the restaurant for lunch on the weekend I'm in NYC. The view is beautiful, the atmosphere super pleasant, excellent service and food. I recommend making a reservation.
Delicious and comfortable
We were able to get into Bryant Park Grill after ice-skating. We sat in the "outside" area and it was so beautiful. The employees were so nice and friendly, really made us feel at home. The food was soooo great! I got the avocado, tomato, cucumber appetizer and it was fresh and vibrant. My friend got the chicken ceasar salad and it was very big and very tasty. Thank you for such a great lunch!
