Biscuit Love (Hillsboro Village) Nashville Reviews from The Last Year

When I heard about this place, I was not ready for the absolute deliciousness I encountered. I was thinking of a Mcd's gross doughy biscuit, not the flakey god-like goodness that I received here...mind blown! The set up is not what New Yorkers are use to, there's an entrance, where u immediately stand in line. When you get to the front, you place your order, pay, and then they seat you. I ordered a Southern Benny, which is an open faced biscuit with shaved ham, 2 eggs over easy and gravy. TRUST ME ITS THE BEST THING YOUVE EVER HAD. My husband got the Princess, with a piece of "hot chicken" on his biscuit, and, to top it all off, the most delicious fresh squeezed OJ that would make Florida jealous. Run, don't walk to this place.

Amazing cheese grits! The staff was very friendly and they kept the coffee coming. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy, and as an Okie, I do know a thing or two about gravy. Their biscuits were on the dense and crispy side; if big fluffy biscuits are your thing, these may not be for you. The denser, crispy biscuits must be a Tennessee thing. They were still tasty.
I've had good meals there in the past but not today.
Wait was about 20 minutes. I ordered the SEC. The biscuit was cold and hard - almost needed a knife to cut it. Definitely not fresh. The sausage was luke warm and the egg on top was cold also. The gravy saved it a bit as it was hot. We spent $140 for five of us. Service was good and servers were pleasant. I won't go back to the Gulch location. Plenty of other good places in Nashville.
Looking for southern biscuit goodness? This is the place
Looking for southern biscuit goodness? This is the place for you. Has the feel of 12 south mixed with a southern diner. There are a myriad of biscuit sandwiches to choose, or you can just have it by itself. Whichever way you choose is delicious. The biscuit is so soft and flaky and so delicious. Then for the east nasty you add a perfectly prepared piece of fried chicken and some of the best gravy you've ever had, and it's a meal you never want to end. Oh and they make doughnut bites from the same dough as their biscuits. Those are as incredible as you might think, especially dipping them in the homemade jam they come with.
This staple was on our list when visiting Nashville.
We picked this location because it seemed less frequented in comparison to the original location so we were hoping to get service quicker. We didn't wait long perhaps 15/20 minutes. The restaurant was well lit with natural lighting throughout which I really appreciated. We ordered: The B-Roll (10/10) - this was delicious. The bun itself was hot and gooey and just pulled apart, the pecan sticky bun sauce was tasty and sweet, while the pecans gave it a nice crunch to the texture. Plain Biscuit (5/5) - We had to try the actual biscuit solo since neither of our dishes consisted. It was flaky and buttery. The jam wasn't needed but it certainly was a nice addition to add a pop of sweetness. Bill Neal's Shrimp and Grits (6.5/10) - the grits were tasty, creamy and smooth. The shrimp were interestingly small, like dime size so I can't account for whether they were seasoned well or not because they were so small and had a very low impact on the dish. There was a gravy on the dish that packed a good amount of flavor with the green onion and mushroom. There was just nothing to make me say I needed to get that dish again. Chicken & B-Waffles (4/10) - the chicken was simply not Korean fried chicken. It was fried chicken in Korean sauce, that's different. Korean fried chicken is super crispy because potato starch is added to its batter and the chicken is fried twice. This second frying also cooks off the excess water in the chicken from the first frying, allowing it to stay extra crispy for a long time, even with a glazed surface. This wasn't that. Additionally, whatever batter was used didn't hold well as half way through the dish, I was picking up pieces of chicken only to find the batter left on the waffle underneath. Secondly, a bubble waffle is tricky to start with because they don't have the texture and fluff of a normal waffle so it's important to get the batter right, this waffle was flavorless. Note: If you're just going for the biscuits and to-shares, it's a 5 star experience. However, I personally like the complete package and if I had to chose I mainly go for the entree's. Based on what we ordered, where one entree was a "customer favorite" and the other a new addition to the menu, I could only give them 3/5 stars.

There's a reason why this place is a must in Nashville, it's so so good!! This location is far less crowded which I loved. Get the grapefruit, it tastes like candy!
Have been here quite a few times.
Food is really good. This time wait/host staff was ridiculously rude. Felt really unwelcome.

Took a lot for me to even write a review as this is the first yelp review I have ever made but because I was so disappointed by the service and management I felt It was necessary. I got the "new" veggie bowl that was $15. For the money I paid I got 1 biscuit, 1 egg, and sauce with very few zucchini pieces. As It is supposed to come with peppers, feta cheese, etc. I do not eat meat and this meal wouldn't have filled me up even a 1/4th of the way. As much as I didn't want to I took the food back and the Manager was SO unprofessional. She was short, didn't give me the time or day, or offer an apology(not that I even expected one) but as a Manager you try and make up for the dissatisfaction... my first time trying Biscuit Love and I at least know now I will never be coming back.
Delightful Morning Dive
Amazing flavors, crazy high prices, small portions, delightful service, simple refreshing atmosphere, predictable menu with just a couple surprises, and accommodating enough for our group of eight dropping in for Sunday brunch. Noticed an odd lack, at these prices, of gluten and dairy free options, unusual menu with biscuit or none dividing most entrees, we did fine but my buddy realized too late his nine dollar drop of oatmeal had granola on it which with his dire allergy to pistachio demanded a polite request for a replacement. I was thankful how nice and easy another nut free portion showed up. It's rich and creamy however needs some gold leaf at the price point, like my kid sized shrimp and grits. All our dishes were at best half the amount for my Indiana food expectations. At least this restaurant has their system down to a refined science, we started in line outside but it moved along quickly. They set us up indoors, felt special to time the rush well enough to all sit together. Our orders appeared quickly, my brown sugar oat milk coffee latte was the only budget friendly item on our table. Easy to drink and well balanced, on the sweet side as most brown sugar drinks are, went so well with the bonuts: incredible mascarpone topped dream cakes diet sized and ideally dipped in rich blueberry sauce. Those were easily the breakfast winner. My shrimp was sparingly added to my small dish, fine southern cooking meets Nashville real estate. The others did combos of biscuits and gravy, hot chicken, and scrambled eggs. Our white boy thought the hot chicken was way too hot, blessed me to take over, and I loved it! A nice sized bird dipped in the red sauce ripe to match Hattie B's, a solid fix for any morning, others must have thought so too with theirs as it all disappeared quickly. There's little to fault this popular morning appetite fix, good rewards program to help the prices, super good staff, and hot spot location.

Came for brunch on Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised that the wait was not as long as we thought it would be and the line moved quite fast. I got the egg plate and we got the B-roll to share. Both of those were amazing and definitely hit the spot! You should definitely come here if you're looking for an awesome brunch spot!
Great atmosphere and great food!!
The Egg plate that I ordered and the East Nasty that my wife had were excellent! We also ate the Bonuts as well”dessert.” First time here but definitely not my last!
Really good!
Visited here one morning for breakfast whilst visiting Nashville and having heard recommendations for this place. There was a large line, but don’t let that put you off, it went down quickly, and the ordering process was efficient, we were seated within a few minutes out on the patio. We opted for the Biscuit Donuts (Bonuts) to start topped with lemon cream and a blueberry sauce, these were really good! We then opted for the Biscuits topped with Nashville Chicken along with Biscuits topped with the famous Sausage Gravy. Both options were good, but the star of the show was the Nashville Hot Chicken, which was so tasty, tender, and juicy. Sadly, the sausage gravy wasn’t the warmest, but we still enjoyed the flavor. We love biscuits, but we were disappointed by the biscuits here – despite the entire restaurant being based around biscuits. These biscuits are trying to be different, more modern and are more like a flaky puff pastry than a normal doughy cakey biscuit you would know. Although we enjoyed them, we both said that we would have preferred an actual normal biscuit, and you shouldn’t try to change what works!
Not that great from the wait
The chicken was so delicious but this place is called biscuit love so you’d think the biscuits would be light and fluffy and perfect just like grandmas but you would be wrong. They were hard and tough to chew so my experience was not a good one! This place is all hype! Staff was nice but food was just ok. Wouldn’t go here again.
Did not live up to expectations.
The woman who took our order looked bored and wasn’t especially friendly. The piece of chicken on my biscuit was tough and half of it was inedible. The biscuit itself had great buttery flavor, but was not flaky and soft like I hoped. Coffee was very good, but no one offered a refill. Maybe refills on regular coffee aren’t free? My daughter ordered the bubble waffle, but didn’t like their house syrup and they didn’t have any regular maple syrup. All in all I don’t get the hype. It was average at best, and for the price I’d rate it as poor.
