😍
Food was amazing! We got this to share with the table.
For appetizers we had calamari & octopus. Octopus was so yummy and flavorful. However the star of the night were the steak & risotto!!! I also got the ravioli but the truffle flavor was a lil too strong for me but overall food and service was 10/10.
😍
We had a fantastic meal at Bottega.
We had a later reservation in the evening and were not surprised to find the restaurant packed. Despite how busy it was, the ambiance was intimate and romantic. We settled on wine recommended by our waiter which was phenomenal - huge fan of the quartino serving which got us through our entire meal. The bread and garlic Parmesan dip was strikingly delicious. We ordered the burrata as our appetizer and we're rewarded with an array of perfectly paired flavors - creamy burrata, citrusy pomegranate caviar, and salty pistachio pesto. I ordered the risotto which featured oxtail and it was simply life changing. My husband ordered the raviolo and thought the same. The portions were generous too. This was such a special dinner experience from start to finish and a must for anyone in the area.
😒
Decent food but we found the service to be slow,
Decent food but we found the service to be slow, indifferent, and a bit cold. It seemed like they were just going through the motions without really caring about the diners. There are a bunch of other restaurants in the area that would have been a better experience.
🙂
Lovely restaurant inside.
Food was okay. The short ribs were delicious the service was really good. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Food is a bit rich as well.
😍
Mouth-watering Italian Cuisine!
If you're visiting Yountville and you love Italian food, Bottega is a must. The last time we visited, two of us shared a couple of pastas (Ricotta Gnocci and Sophia Loren Spaghetti) plus one secondi (Pollo alla Diavola.) Everything was mouth-wateringly delicious!
😒
Unprofessional servers.
Costumer service is very bad. The food was too salty. We asked if we can get it replaced but the server refused. Meh...

Came in for my brothers and I's birthday celebration! Were triplets so its usually pretty funny telling a restaurant thats its all 3 of our birthdays haha, BUT the waitstaff was amazing and brought us the cutest little charcuterie board, full of delicious desserts, some of which I hadn't tried before, but were all super tasty. And the food was even better! We got a variety of everything, and all of it I would recommend if you were to come here. My favorite was an appetizer made of dough and prosciutto, forgot the name. If im ever in Yountville again, i'll be coming back!!
😍

Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere! The calamari is elevated and not your typical fried calamari. My husband had the ravioli and it was perfection! I had the branzino and it was not bad, but I will get pasta if we are ever lucky enough to dine here again. The panna cotta was divine and redeemed a horrible panna cotta we had at the Auberge earlier in our trip. Would definitely return and recommend!!
😍
Been to Bottega every visit to the Napa area.
We have attended harvest parties as well at Michael's house. Everything has always been great. Good drinks and service.

A long, overdue outing with one of my best friends! Girls
A long, overdue outing with one of my best friends! Girls night at #Bottega in Yountville. .Drinks: Negroni Royale & After "Spa" Water. Both had great flavor, light floral notes and not too sweet. .Apps: complimentary bread with garlic and parmesan spread and the burrata. The bread was soft, light, airy and so fresh. The spread was a perfect pairing. The burrata was beautifully decorated with pistachio pesto, tangerines and pomegranate syrup "caviar". .Main Course: ox tail risotto and roasted brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts had a bit too much oil and salt, but was otherwise good. The risotto was creamy and rich - perfect for a cold night like tonight! .Dessert: we ordered their most popular dessert - Zeppole. It was 3 hazelnut cream filled donuts. We also received a trio of complimentary cookies since this was also a belated birthday celebration. .Overall, a great dining experience from start to finish!
😍
Delicious- ordered a wide variety of items and shared
Delicious- ordered a wide variety of items and shared family style. Rich, robust flavors. You will not be disappointed. Great ambiance and service.
Amazing food and service. Michael Chiarrelo was doing the rounds and made a stop. Very personable and humble given the excellent polenta and squid. The branzino was the best I’ve ever had, in Italy or Stateside. A consistent and amazing experience every time we’ve been.
My family of 5 are dinner last night at Bottega and it was the top 3 dinners we have ever had.! There was an initial concern of our seating which was outside and it was too cold so I wanted to eat inside. The manager quickly accommodated us inside making us feel so welcomed with our request! The meal was perfectly spaced out by our delightful server so we were not rushed. But the food—- the food was exquisite! The fresh Burrata was the best we have ever eaten, the grilled octopus was like butter, the coffee agradolce short ribs and polenta… oh my god… and the homemade pasta dishes were to die for. If you are going to be in Yountville, you must eat here! Nice work Michael Chiarello!

Recommended by a stranger
We were newcomers to Napa and did no advance research. Stopped a woman on the street to ask some questions. Do you know the area? Yes thank goodness. She had lived here for 40 years. What wine tours do you recommend? Where should we eat? She suggested Bottega. I’ve only rarely taken recommendations from strangers but was very happy I followed through on this one. The food was great. We had the Brussel sprout salad and the zucchini lasagna which were both good. But the stand out dish was the braised ribs agro dolce with polenta. Delicious. Many thanks to the happy Napa ambassador.
Unfortunately, the management at Bottega has ruined which use to be one of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley. The GM seems to not care about the customer nor the experience at Bottega which use to be five star. We tried multiple times to reach out to him and he never returned calls or emails. This was extremely disappointing since we really made an effort to try and resolve our issue to no avail. We had held events at the restaurant before and only had positive things to say, but this last experience with the staff was awful. You don't expect one of the premier regions of the world for dinning would have such a lackluster management team in place. I would strongly advise not to host any events at Bottega. The restaurant is clearly only about turning a profit these days and not offering the upscale dining experience that it use too.
Went to Bottega for my birthday. We go every year. Always have Gnocchi and it’s delicious. Friends had calamari, pasta with rabbit and chicken. Everyone enjoyed what they had. Ordered dessert and they always brought a free plate of cookies for my birthday but this time only the dessert we ordered and we paid for it. I was disappointed. A small plate of cookies is special and I’m sure they can afford it. Our bill was $260!
This was our fifth or sixth visit in as many years. It’s been an annual tradition to eat here on our last night in Napa Valley. We also tend to order the same thing every time we go because they are our favorite dishes so why argue with success, right? We have come to find things have changed. The Brussels sprout salad is smaller than it used to be. It used to have hard boiled eggs in it. Ours had none this time. The short rib came with polenta that was gummy, like wallpaper paste. The biggest change was the service. The timing just did not work between courses. There was just too much dead space or time between each course. It made the evening awkward and slow. We got our glass of wine to enjoy with our main course and by the time it came the glass of wine was long gone. It just is not the same as we remember it, and sadly no longer lives up to what we had come to know and love about it.
Bottega is in a charming area of Yountville. It’s a large restaurant with a great patio area with heaters for chilly evenings and nice bar area. We visited this restaurant on our last night in Napa. It did not disappoint. We sat outside in the patio on a beautiful evening. Our table of four shared the wood grilled octopus to start. For dinner I had the Ricotta Gnocchi della Nonna. Little ricotta “pillows” with tomato sauce and pecorino romano. The gnocchi was as light as air. So good! My husband had the Rigatoni al Coniglio. The rigatoni was topped with rabbit and caramelized mushrooms with pancetta and house made ricotta. He loved it! Service was great and we loved the atmosphere. Just make sure to make reservations for this popular restaurant.
🤢
You better eat first before ytou caome here!
The portions are hideously tiny. The appetizers: calamari--maybe one cut-up small squid; octopus-could barely find the one-piece hidden under the arugula. So sad and expensive. I ordered the rabbit after asking the waiter if it was a good size entree of which he assured me it was. Wrong! I found 2 littles pieces of rabbit hiding under a bowl of macaroni!! The sad part was that I convinced another guest to give it a try because you usually don't find rabbit on a menu....and its fun to experiment with new dishes. Today, my friend sent me a you tube video of Elmer Fudd hunting and looking for "wabbits." What is wrong with resturants who serve microscopic portions??? My recommendation is stay away from this crowded restuarant unless you have lots of money to burn and really aren't hungry.

Outstanding New-Style Italian!

@J E on 10/24/2022
I have to say, this was easily the BEST dining experience I had on this particular trip to Napa! We’ve eaten at many restaurants in our trips here, and the food here would make the top 3! I’ll start with the “issues” first: - The place was packed and it was a Wednesday night! - The parking lot was dark as hell, which made it VERY difficult and dangerous to walk through (and avoid tripping over edging, etc) on the way in. But when we left, there appeared to be lights on that weren’t on earlier. This MUST be fixed! - It’s incredibly LOUD in the dining room! The bar is adjacent to the main dining room and people enjoying their drinks and conversation, yelling, laughing (quite obnoxiously) can be VERY LOUD! Which makes it difficult to enjoy a nice, cozy dinner for two. On to the rest of the visit… Their menu is excellently prepared and loaded with interesting and uniquely prepared items. The chef has an interesting use of his tomato water, it’s in his bloody mary and used at a way to boil pasta and it definitely imparts interesting and unique flavors! I started with their Bloody Mary and it was definitely not the norm… it was a water-based style, rather than the thick, mealy, tomato-based style. Flavor was somewhat subdued, but still decent. Their wine list is excellent, so I moved on to utilizing the “by-the-glass” List afterwards. There were so many delicious items on the menu, that we decided to just order several items and split everything. Our server was great, very friendly and helpful and he not only explained interesting things we needed to know (such as the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren being made for Sophia Loren’s 80th birthday). He also split everything in the service of each course for us. Additionally, he paced everything apart perfectly, so we had time to sit, dine, talk, and enjoy our night out without feeling rushed. We started with their Insalatina di Cavoletti di Bruxelles which was very nicely done! The brussel spouts were very finely shredded and the vinaigrette was perfectly added! Next course was the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren, which was my favorite dish from this entire trip to Napa! The tomato water did such an excellent job making the perfectly al dente pasta have a hint of interesting flavor and the perfectly pureed sauce was outstanding! It’s also a beautifully-plated dish!! Next up was another pasta dish, the Tagliarini Bolognese al Centro, which was a very hearty, rich dish packed with great, meaty flavors! The pasta was perfectly prepared and mixed in with the rich, meaty sauce! Finally, the main dish was their Pollo alla Diavola, which had excellent spice and perfect cooking temperature!! The white meat was moist and soaked in the flavor of the marinade nicely, but the dark meat was incredibly-marinated and tasty!!! I absolutely loved this preparation and the flavors!! I know it’s not the “thing” to do to order chicken at a nice restaurant, but in this case, Get The Chicken!!! For our final course, we ended with their affogato and their assortment of fresh-made gelato and both were nicely done. The pistachio gelato was excellent! Definitely highly suggest stopping in for dinner when visiting, this experience was outstanding!
😍
Our first time here and we were not disappointed! I orders
Our first time here and we were not disappointed! I orders the ricotta gnocchi and they were just the most delicate delicious pasta ever entering my mouth! (I wish I had some right now! ). My hubby had the Sophia Lauren pasta and he loved his! Bothe we're amazing- oh we started with the heirloom tomato and burrata salad - muah!! It was so beautifully delicious!! I think the best we ever had!! Can't wait to return to Napa for this delicious dinner again!! Outside seating and reservations are recommended.
🙂
Bottega is not just a destination place, it's an experience
Bottega is not just a destination place, it's an experience of great food and great service. Fun staff made it more enjoyable as oppose to a serious atmosphere that tends to be stuffy in some places.Appetizer of calamari was enough for about 2 hungry folks or 4 just to enjoy a sampler. I guess it was about right lololol Main course for me was the sea bass fish, lightly coated and gently sautéed leaving the head on... no worries there, it presented well and was very light. I can't recall if I had capers on it, but it was tasty. Fresh artisan bread with a spread was too strong for me.. I asked for butter in the end to soften the taste. Maybe I had too much instead of a moderate amount. Can't recall the spread but although good, it was too strong.Fabulous drinks kept coming. Everyone enjoyed a variety of mixed cocktails. We opted out of the dessert and went to Bouchon bakery just to have more variety and something different. I'm sure the offered dessert would have been good, but we opted out.Clean, not noisy, cozy atmosphere. I would go back a 5th time but make sure Cioppino is on the menu for lunch.. my favorite

The grounds and atmosphere of this restaurant were amazing - just beautiful. The food was delicious, and Jonathan our server was quite nice, but only fairly attentive. The only reason our visit was not 5 stars was the length of time it took to order - then the kitchen never received the order!! Good thing we were not in a hurry at all, a group of 7 great friends. BUT - over an hour after placing the order we knew something was up. They made up for their mistake with a couple bottles of wine and several appetizers to tide us over. That was appropriate. However any other group may have walked out much sooner. Overall the meal was very nice, and as I said, a beautiful location! P.S. Don’t take Trinity Rd as a short route from Sonoma! That was an experience for sure!
😍
The food was great and I loved the ambiance, but what
The food was great and I loved the ambiance, but what really sold me on this restaurant was the service provided by Just-in-time! We came on a Sunday so it was really busy but the attentiveness of our server and the time he spent despite his full section, going through the menu from cocktails to entrees to wine pairings, and then to dessert, really made the time spent here worth every penny. Thanks for the experience, Justin!!
🙂
I have decided to try this place from my friend's
I have decided to try this place from my friend's recommendation. It's located in such a cute little area and the restaurant itself is just gorgeous. We made a reservation and got a table in the back, nice little area but eventually my friend and I had to ask for another table since it smelled bad there. Our server reluctant to moved us though. We moved to a covered area and it was better. My friend ordered Sauvignon Blanc and I order 'After Spa Water' which we both LOVE those . Followed by truffle fried which was huge and I got Ricotta gnocchi dells nonna while my friend got Risotta del Giomo. Both were tasty but mine was little too cheesy. Oh I forgot to mention that we order Burrata Caprese as well..... it was delicious. While everything was going so well, something was kinda bother us. After appetizer was served not too long, entrees arrived right away then our server brought a dessert menu!!!!! We haven't really finished anything yet. Then he came by and asked if we want any dessert.... It's been less than an hour (which we have 2 hours period for the reservation) my friend lost it and asked him..... if he needed a table ( which they were not that busy!!) he said no. So she went to asked the hostess and she said no we were fine. There it went .... From first impression, went to furious but we still tried to made the most of of it.Hopefully next time we have another server who has better service mind.
🙂
Really fantastic dinner.
We had an amazing waiter who was super attentive the entire night and gave us the recommendation to get the gnocchi in between our apps and entrees... best thing we ate all night. My branzino was good, but I'd say that the chicken was the best entree we got. The lava cake was subpar, but their gelatos and sorbets were great. Overall would 100% come back, but there are better restaurants in Yountville.
🤢
We used to go here a lot and loved it every time.
This was the first time since the start of the pandemic and it has slipped. I know a lot of places are having trouble keeping staff, but it took 20 minutes to even get a waiter to us, and when we finally got the food, there was at least 20 minutes between courses. The 2nd course would arrive before the busboy had cleared the dishes from the first course! We could tell the waiters and busboys all had a large area to cover, so I can't blame them entirely -- there just wasn't enough staff. If that were the only problem, I would be more sympathetic, but the food wasn't the same. In the past, we would always be blown away by unusual ingredients, getting something we've never had before and always very fresh. That's all changed. What we got wasn't bad, but pretty mediocre. The zucchini lasagna tasted like it was made 2-3 days ago and just warmed up from the fridge -- not what I would expect from Bottega. The desserts were just ho-hum. Nothing special. The whole experience was very disappointing to what we remembered. Hopefully the old Bottega will come back soon.
The restaurant was full, initially they seated us by a door way however when we asked to me moved they moved us to a better table. Service was very good, the food was good and the wine recommendation was amazing. We had a good experience.
🤮
I went there for lunch with my friends.
My server was rushed and not nice . I got appetizers first and 2 minutes later I got my main course. I ate only 2 bites !! Our server give us the dessert menu. I went to asked hostess. Do you need our table? Why our server was rushed us? We feel uncomfortable and please improve your service!!! I make reservations from open table. They said 1hours 45 minutes for 2 people . But there rushed before 1 hours. Even the restaurant was empty!!!
😍
Friendly waiter and good service.
I had the gnocchi and ohh my goodness they just melt in your mouth. Perfection! As for dessert, can't go wrong with theirhazelnut donuts! Loved the outdoor seating so comfortable and so relaxing.
😍
Wow, really a great dinner.
Low calorie it is not! Each plate was fantastic. Go with close friends or family who will want to let you share tastes! We could jot decide whos was the best. The short rib was so great, cooked to perfection. The bolonaise was just fantastic and a ready choice at this high end place, loved the fennel on it. The rabbit with mushroom pasta was so rich and tasty! Appetisers were delicicious. The tomatoes with the burrata were very fresh, vibrant heirloom and delicious. The pizza dough fried and covered with prochuto, marscapone and pecorino was amazing. The service was really great. Knowledgeable and friendly, no snootiness here. Try the tiramisu, different take but decadant.
🙂
This isn't usually my scene, but we came here for a special
This isn't usually my scene, but we came here for a special birthday dinner. We had a large party of 6 and ordered everything from appetizers, drinks, dinner and even some dessert. The team did a great job at making the birthday girl feel special, all of our drinks came with a "Happy Birthday Maria" on a super thin wafer. I swear we were the absolute last guest in the restaurant and we never felt rushed. Our waiter even helped us with our "card roulette" game and kindly didn't pick my card, lol. This was a great place to spend the evening with friends!

It should have been 5 stars, but ….

@Jens on 07/29/2022
I would have loved giving 5 stars, but … three things that pulls down to 3 stars. Firstly, when the very nice waiter wanted to start presenting the menu. I asked if he could come back in a few min, but he just continued. I had to interrupt and ask again “can you PLEASE come back in 2 minutes”. Please pay attention to your guests!! Secondly I have a severe allergy, no-one asked us if we had any allergies. This is very serious miss, and should be corrected. Thirdly - I think it is extremely unethical NOT to inform that the daily special risotto will be 100+% more expensive than the normal one in the menu. The normal risotto is prized to mid 20ies USD. We never got the price presented for the daily special. And got a shock when we saw the bill… 55USD for a Risotto . It should be a really good risotto to defend that price - but the thing is , my wife didn’t enjoy it either. Beside this, I liked the atmosphere, I enjoyed my dishes, and I had one of my best ice cream experiences when we had dessert . I will definitely be back.
😍
Wonderful finale to our weekend in Napa
This restaurant is truly beautiful. Seating and ambiance is comfortable yet elegant. We had an amazing short rib over polenta, a Faust Cabernet with a generous pour and THE MOST delicious fried puffed filled pastries with apple butter for dessert. This restaurant has earned it's reputation for a reason. Worth a visit!
The positive reviews are probably paid/fake ones. Food is not more than average and service is chaotic. We arrived at 11:55, had our orders made by 12:05. The server brought my appetizer but never brought my wife’s appetizer. At 12:40 we complained, told them to bring the main courses and 10 minutes later they told us the kitchen had also had problems with our main courses. We had arrived early and had planned to leave early for our tasting appointment but had this terrible lunch experience.
😍
Beautiful cocktails & best pasta
We dined here for a special occasion and we’re seated in the outdoor dining area as requested. (Unfortunately there was a very large and loud party seated right next to us, we could hardly hear each other during the meal). The drink menu offered some interesting and beautifully presented cocktails. We tried a number of items from the menu, but the tomato water pasta was by far our favorite.
🤮
Worst experience in a very long time.
Had a horrible experience. My husband and I have been traveling all around the Northern California area for over a week now and have many fabulous meals. This was the one bad apple. The waitress and overall service was worst I have had in a long time. It took ten minutes just to have someone approach the table and bring water. The restaurant was not busy at the time. After a long wait the waitress came to the table to take our order. Bread was served shortly after which we were delighted about until we got the check. We were billed for it without asking. Then we waited 25 minutes. No one checked on us. Two tables that ordered after us had their food and were almost finished. After complaining to the seating attendant a woman came and refilled our waters. The waitress came and apologized but did not ask us if we needed anything, my iced tea was long past consumed. The salad and appetizer were then brought at the same time. The appetizer was excellent. Then no one cleared our plates. The next course was delivered. We did not get new plates or silverware so we ate the meal on dirty plates. No one checked on us. The meal was extremely dissatisfying. Complained to management who nodded is head and pretended to care. Entered this place expecting the meal of a lifetime but left enraged wanting to tell the world to go somewhere else, anywhere else.
😍
Michael Chiarello Restaurant
Excellent Michael Chiarello restaurant with a romantic interior with beautiful decor. Excellent Italian food. Highly recommend.

WORST ITALIAN FOOD I have ever had!!!
1/5 by 👻
@BMY on 06/17/2022
It took almost an hour between appetizers and main course. then the food came out either too salty or not made right. Steak was well done when we asked for medium. The manager agreed. What was worst was the manager offered to remake the dishes, the kitchen retaliated by putting vinegar in the pasta, making is so sour. We just left. The food was the worst I have ever had. server was nice though. I will never go back to this restaurant.
I have been to this restaurant on 4 previous occasions. Unfortunately it keeps getting worse and worse. The price gets higher and the quality of the food and service continues to decline. We had been there in Sept. of 2021, the food and service were both bad but we chalked it up to Covid. After all that’s everyone’s excuse. This time we reserved one of their private rooms for a party of 11. It was a disaster and the worst of all the meals we had in Napa-by far. They put us in a room not even attached to the restaurant. No atmosphere, no personality and view of a brick wall. It was like an over sized closet. They charged us an additional $300 for this ridiculous room. If that wasn’t bad enough the food was more like at 2 star “want to be” Italian restaurant. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The server barely spoke a word. Never again. This restaurant lost 11 repeat customers. The sad part is the management at Bottega could not care less.
