Connolly's New York Reviews from The Last Year

I went here for a midday lunch break with a friend and it was delicious! We sat on the second floor since it was slightly cooler than the bottom floor on an 80 degree day. Service was quick which we appreciated since we had a time limit. It's a nice pub atmosphere for a quick escape from midtown crowds. And it didn't hurt that the food was sooo good. I got the Godzilla Burger from the specials menu. It was cooked medium well to my liking, and the mushrooms and avocado added great taste. My friend had the Shepard's pie and enjoyed it...the presentation was great too!

If you find yourself in the mid-town area and looking for a bite to eat that's not one of the big chain restaurants in Times Square, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Service was good... and quick! Food was tasty! I loved the atmosphere. Prices were incredibly reasonable considering the area. For appetizers we ordered the soft pretzels and beer cheese.... Those were very good! For my entree I ordered the chicken pot pie. It was probably the best chicken pot pie I've ever had! Highly recommend!! If you're looking for a great place to grab a meal, I can't recommend this place enough!

Week days not so great ! Delicious food !
Great shepherds pie and chicken pot pie.
Drinks are reasonable and they have happy hour.

So, picture this: you're at Grand Central Station, minding your own business, when a group of police officers starts raving about this hidden gem called Connolly Pub and Restaurant. Now, if anyone knows their way around the city and their food, it's these folks who practically live and breathe the streets, right? Curiosity piqued, we decided to embark on this culinary adventure. And let me tell you, it was a decision we didn't regret. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated at the bar by the one and only Lorraine (fingers crossed we got the name right). Let me just say, she's not just a bartender; she's a comedic genius disguised as a purveyor of drinks. With her wit and charm, she made our dining experience unforgettable. As for the food, well, let's just say Connolly Pub knows how to whip up a burger that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance. The Gaelic Burger, in particular, was a masterpiece. Juicy, flavorful, and downright delicious. My boyfriend even declared it as one of the top five burgers of his entire existence - and trust me, that's high praise coming from him. But beyond the food and drinks, it's the overall experience that truly sets Connolly Pub apart. From the lively atmosphere to the impeccable service, this place has earned its spot at the top of the list of "Must See's and Eats" in NYC. So, whether you're a seasoned New Yorker or just passing through, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Connolly Pub and Restaurant. Your taste buds - and your funny bone - will thank you. Cheers to that!
I cannot comment on the drinks.
I cannot really comment on the ambiance. What I can comment on is the service and our meal that afternoon and the service. Their chili stuffed potato skin was filling, comforting, and so good! It's a meal in itself, but it served as our appetizer. I don't see it on the menu anymore. I ordered their Harp Beer Battered Fish and Chips while he ordered the Guiness Grilled Rib Steak. Their fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The fish wasn't greasy. They were huge pieces of fish fried perfectly. It paired so well w/ the coleslaw and the tanginess from the tartar sauce. The leftovers did create a bit of grease, but it was to be expected. I still enjoyed it that night! I was thirsty and must have had 4 Diet Coke refills. Our server was quick and checked on us a few times. I really appreciate the fact that I did not have to ask for a refill of my soda. I wasn't so sure about the steak, but he finished it and said it was good. Mmmm, I'm thinking about the fish and chips and potato skins right now!
Nice place.
Casual dining and good food. The service was great. The shepherds pie was delicious.

Excellent food and service! Will be back for another wonderful traditional Irish breakfast when we come back to NYC!
Irish music, good food, Guinness and a shandy.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Everything that makes a great St Patrick's Day dinner before the play.
A surprisingly quiet place for an impromptu Sunday brunch.
I had the seared ahi tuna appetizer-plenty big for a light meal-and it was tasty and well prepared. The service was prompt and pleasant. No complaints at all!
