Copine Seattle Reviews from The Last Year
Just a heads up this review is coming from a retired chef
Just a heads up this review is coming from a retired chef of 42 years. Here we go: 1. Amuse bouche was a panba cotta with a ginger mousse, way too overpowering on the ginger, the chevre was good but nothing special. Rolls were just rolls, how about some fresh herbs or sourdough base? 2. Wife had king salmon terrine, raw salmon wrapped in nori i do belive with cream cheese? Sorry no fine dining establishment should ever have cream cheese. No flavor and waitress said had smoke didnt taste any. 2. White asparagus veloute was alright, i think they poured way too much and wasnt anything special. 3. Shrimp and grits was alright, not really sure why they decided that for that type of dining? Corn flake crusted? 4. Sablefish was probably my favorite due to it was cooked perfectly. 5. Burrata was pretty bland and presentation looked like a bad poached egg with very little if at all liquid in the center. Cucumber wasnt the best choice for garnish. 6. Semi freddo tasted way too sweet with overly sweetened blood orange sauce. Also texture seemed like tgey just pulled out from freezer. 7. Waitress was just bland like tge food no personality but nice. Overall for 700$ which we ordered extra courses and 3 drinks and coffee, wasnt anything to write home about. Average presentation and value wasnt there for the price. Sorry wife took pictures i will have her send later.
We were on a roll alllll the way up to dessert; it felt too
We were on a roll alllll the way up to dessert; it felt too good to be true til that point. The service here is excellent - as many have noted in their reviews, it walks the line between casual and truly fine dining very well (attentive but not overly so). At this price point I would appreciate a somewhat slower pace for courses, as well as an attempt to pour beverage refills on occasion (once the bottles hit the table, we were on our own), but overall, we lacked for nothing. As far as the food goes, it is precise, focused, delicious and playful - at least on the savory front. The amuse bouche was a fun take on game day food in honor of the Super Bowl (refined chips and dip, and pigs in a blanket - nom). The foie gras terrine is well worth the supplement - I mean, just look at the technique on display in the photo for this post. It was almost too pretty to eat. Such a beautifully composed dish; the flavors were so harmonious (the brightness of the garnishes, paired with the richness of the foie gras... I'm going to be thinking about that dish for quite some time). The sweetbread supplement was also well worth the addition - I love offal; my companion does not usually love it, but even he was won over. The lamb was perfectly prepared; I was not a fan of the raw carrot garnish, but that was my one nit. The stumbling block of the meal was dessert. I appreciated that it was not overly sweet, however: the vanishingly tiny discs of black sesame panna cotta tasted not at all of sesame - the only item on the plate that gave any hint of that flavor was the black crisp/garnish on top of the raspberry ice cream. For something billed as "black sesame" on the menu, it was disappointingly bland/lacked that signature nutty flavor. The matcha cake was surprisingly stodgy. The only element that I enjoyed was the raspberry ice cream (that was delicious!). I would return to Copine - the environment is relaxing, adult conversation can be had by all (awww the bliss of a quiet dining room), and the majority of the food is quite good. Next time I would choose the cheese course over the sweet dessert option, however.
Amazing quality of the three course meal - unfortunately
Amazing quality of the three course meal - unfortunately far too high priced to justify it. Feel like restaurant has constructed a business model that supports limited staff only being open three days a week. That should be commended during/after a pandemic, however that keeps meal price extremely high making it hard to justify coming here. How about being open 5 nights a week with slightly lower prices. Regardless food exceptional.
The service was excellent.
The ambiance is OK for talking. A few of the courses were good. Several of them were very lack luster. My partner and I got opposite dishes off the tasting menu. For every course one of us felt disappointed or not pleased. For the price point I would not go back. Way over priced. Altura is like $35 more and 4 times better. Or go to Spinasse which is cheaper and also 3 times better.
Underwhelming for the first time
Copine is one of our favorite restaurants and we typically give our visits 5 star ratings. This meal was not up to the usual standard and did not earn the price we paid. We had the four course option. The fois gras tart had way too much pastry and micro greens and way too little fois gras custard. It tasted like eating a piece of pie crust. The agnolotti were good, but the beef-based broth was harsh and (in my opinion) poorly paired with the lamb filling. The halibut with lobster mushrooms was simply strange. The fish was well cooked but non-descript and the the lobster mushrooms (clearly intended to drive most of the flavor) tasted like they had been boiled - bland, and lacking texture. The taste was more like canned artichoke than elevated mushroom. The desert was simply ok. Again this was our first non-great experience and we will likely go back soon. But, I hope things get back to normal soon.

1st customer, excellent services by primary server as well as others who complimented the overall services. Our dinner (set menu of 3) from appetizers/ starter to our desserts/after dinner beverages were delicious, well presented and very satisfying. Thank you, hope to return soon
Lovely spot for a fancy dinner.
Food was divine and we enjoyed paired wine. Waiter gave us a tip that you can walk in and sit at the bar if you forgot the reservation and have a pretty good chance for sitting in.

The food was solid but overall not very memorable or exciting. It was a nice ambience and service was good but agree with previous reviews that it was probably not worth the price tag given much better alternatives in Seattle.
Indescribable Experience
It is truly impossible to describe the experience of dining at this exquisite restaurant and being privileged to partake of the chef's unique and delicious cuisine. One simply has to go and see and taste for oneself! The welcoming atmosphere, excellent sevice and beverage service only add to make this perhaps the best restaurant in Western Washington! No surprise that they have received so many prestigious awards! Bravo to the chef and all the staff. We thank you for perfect evening!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was spectacular! We each ordered different courses, and added the pre-entree, as well as the wine pairing. Yes - it's expensive, but if you research your restaurants before you go - there should be no surprises here. Each and EVERY dish was constructed beautifully and the flavors were so fun and inventive. The salmon was the BEST I've ever had; it literally tasted like they caught it minutes before bringing it to me. The sommelier was in her game and easily subbed my wines for versions that were more accommodating to my specific pallet - which was very much appreciated! And her knowledge of each and every one was so fun to hear And learn about. And I'm SOOOOO glad I bought a jar of their smoked cherries!!!! They were worth driving the hour and 15 minutes to the restaurant for those alone! Can't wait to make a Manhattan with them! We will definitely be back! You will definitely be full when you leave here!

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

Give the best answerConcierge change fulfillment time
I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

Give the best answerApp
This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
