*** Overall Rating: 4/5 Food Rating: 4/5 Service Rating: 3/5 Ambiance Rating: 4/5 I came in for an early and light dinner. Dishes I had: 1. Pasta Bolognese2. Chocolate BudinoBeverage: 1. Golden Pear KombuchaThe Pasta Bolognese was a real - and pleasant - surprise. Overall, this dish is usually made the same or at least similar everywhere I've ever had it. Not here! The dish felt very novel to me and the ingredients combined together created a very interesting take on this classic Italian dish. I wouldn't call myself a foodie but I was impressed! Not sure how I feel about the nuts mixed in though... that might just be a personal thing. The Chocolate Budino, also, was a surprise to me! I've had so many Chocolate desserts such as cakes and sufflés but none of them have ever tasted as different as this one. Different in a good way! Very rich but the whipped cream balanced it out (which is why they provide so much of it, I think). What I was left thinking after tasting just a tiny portion of the menu is that this restaurant excels in taking classics and making them unique to the restaurant - creating a surprise for your tastebuds. Kombucha was not great. Might just be because I'm not big on Kombucha in general but I wish they had some more decent non-alcoholic beverages. Service: This part let me down a bit. When I came in (on my own), there were lots of staff but it seemed no one wanted to approach me and when I sat down, I wasn't assigned a server. I had to flag them down after several minutes of them not looking my way at all. The same experience all throughout. It seems they get a lot of orders online so they don't focus that much on people who dine in but I don't think that should be the trade-off they make. I may have come in alone but this experience will determine whether I come back with friends or not. And that's where the real value is, to me at least. I hope they can work on that. All the interactions I had with them were friendly, just not attentive. That makes all the difference. Ambiance: Apart from Lincoln Blvd being one on the ugliest boulevards I've seen in LA, this place is pretty nice! Not exactly fancy, more on the casual side. The decor inside is simplistic but modern and trendy. I found it funny that they were playing a Greek song (thanks Shazam) when I came in... They could definitely improve cleaning! The table was a bit sticky and bits of collected dust in various areas! *** You're experience here will really vary depending on what you want. If you want chill vibes, surprisingly good food, and simple surroundings with friends - you may have hit the jackpot. If you want something upscale and very attentive service with a huge variety of food, this might not make the cut for you.
