Lovely dinner in romantic setting
It was a beautiful evening with delicious food. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and we either liked or loved every course. The decadent duck main was a particular standout for me, which they customized to my cheese preferences, and the touch of picking out my own knife was clever. Having the delicious bites at the bar with a drink before dinner began was also a fun and unique way to be welcomed! Our server was warm and well-informed yet professional - the service and atmosphere were classy without feeling stuffy. There was not a sommelier informing us of the wines (at least not introduced as such), but our server was knowledgeable and it did not detract from our experience. We would absolutely return and recommend to others!

Very good drinks, very kind staff and wonderfull dishes. Valet parking at the door. I enjoyed very much. A place you must go in DC

This is my favorite DC restaurant but it is one of my favorite of any city. The food and service could not be better. Truly stellar!

We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The first seven courses were fantastic, with that caviar bite being one of the best things I've had. But it fell apart on the mains, with the lamb chop being very ordinary and unevenly cooked. Servicer is fantastic, as can be imagined for any Michelin-starred place. Desert was petit fours-like, I was hoping for something a bit more upscale. By and large, this was great but just sort of petered out at the end. Drink pours are very generous, you certainly don't lack for wine! The vibe and atmosphere is really superb as well. If I had to do it over again I would have ordered off the menu. Two tasting menus with wine paring is just over $1,150 with tax.
Be the first to ReplyNice flavors and artistry, but...
Nice flavors and artistry, but BEWARE- absolutely paltry serving sizes, both appetizers AND entrees (such as only 2, yes, that's right, you heard me, TWO lobster ravioli with a small piece of sauced tail meat, served as an entree) , and disproportionately expensive ($600 for 2 people, including $100 wine). Riding a bit, on their michelin star coat tails.

Incredible food and service. Had the a la carte menu and enjoyed everything, especially the tuna raviolo and branzino.
Be the first to ReplyOnce in a lifetime experience
I have been trying to come here for years on DC trips and finally made it happen. I have plenty of words to describe what I ate, but none of them do it justice. I had a tiny cherry tomato appetizer that was really an eggplant parmesan. I had another that was a tiny caccio e pepe. A tiny pear with goat cheese and seeds. A tiny carbon crusted gnocchi type past with caviar. A tiny branzino crudo tart. I had wagyu beef cheek ravioli in an aged balsamic sauce. I had branzino crusted with lentils and caviar. I had 8 tiny desserts as one big presentation. I had an amazing cocktail (Piedmonte) followed by a great glass of Barbaresco. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. I cannot say enough. This is a special place to have a special meal, but it is expensive and worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThey cancelled our Valentine's Day reservation with no explanation
This is a first. Waited until their calendar was open and was thrilled to get a table for Valentine's Day only to get an email after Christmas saying "sorry to inform you I must reschedule or cancel your reservation" without any explanation. Seriously?
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Service...Overpriced Undersized Food
The anticipation had been building. A dinner reservation at Fiola! Arrived on time and was sat immediately. Wait staff could not have been more attentive, more knowledgeable and more welcoming. The menu prices are paralyzing. Chose the antipasto which the waiter insisted we should order individually, not shared. For $50 it included four architecturally beautiful, but unremarkable options. The tuna cervice was less than 2 oz and it too was in the $40 range but comes with imported seawater. The gnocchi was six pillows floating in a sauce, $50.. Thank goodness for the $ 10 they charge for bread. You get the picture. Summary, micro portions (especially for an Italian restaurant where normally the intent is "mangia". Nothing special about the atmosphere. Overall, the actual experience didn't come close to living up to the anticipation.

When my husband and I visit Washington DC, we like to try different restaurants, but Fiola was our favorite during our last visit a few years ago, and we couldnโt resist returning. Itโs the very epitome of refined luxury, yet the atmosphere is relaxed and congenial. We found ourselves chatting with the other diners near us as well as enjoying the charming team. Service is impeccable. We ordered the 9 course tasting menu and I had the wine pairings. Everything was superb! We were very pleased that Fiola has maintained the same high quality. Itโs definitely worth a splurge.
Be the first to ReplyElegant and Unique Italian Foodie Heaven
This is the third time we have enjoyed Fiola. Every time we come, they make us feel like royalty. From the lovely bar and personable bartender to the waitstaff, the place is all quiet refinement. The dining room is elegant and the wine list has good options at all price points- Italian, American and French wines are all well represented. We enjoyed the nine course tasting menu which was just fabulous. Everything from the little hors dโoeuvres with a complimentary glass of (delicious) Prosecco to the original lemon risotto to the lobster with stuffed squash blossom to the amazing white chocolate and cheese course (a dream!) to the tiramisu served in the shape of Italy, we were delighted and surprised at every turn. Definitely an obligatory stop on the gourmet DC circuit!
Be the first to ReplyTerrific service. Uninspiring flavors.
Service is impeccable. The food was OK. I expected to be wowed by the food in a Michelin starred restaurant, but I was not. The service was unlike anything Iโve ever experienced, and much of the food was experiential, which was fun. But none of the three courses I tried knocked my socks off.

Seafoods were not fresh. I only saw my waiter twice (went over the menu and collected the check). Not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place to celebrate an Anniversary!
Absolutely amazing experience!!! The food and service were both fantastic. We are used to saying food was great and service okay or the opposite-at Fiola, we had the best of both worlds. We did the tasting menu with five items and it was ideal for us. We did just a glass of wine each and it matched me meal well. We were here for a significant wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Anniversary Dinner
Can't thank Fiola's enough for such a wonderful 35th anniversary evening. A 4 hour dinner (try it if you don't understand how it can take that long!) with the 8 course dinner was absolutely perfect. Each course outdid the prior course, and server Mason, manager Guiseppe and sommelier Sa'id could not have been more accommodating and friendly in explaining the entire experience. We chose a bottle of white and red instead of the wine pairing and the selections from Sa'id were impeccable. Complimentary prosecco and anniversary cake in addition to cake for the next morning, multiple thank you cards and a copy of the menu we had just eaten were additional add-ons. Was it a lot of food? Yes, but well worth it! If you have a special occasion to celebrate, you will definitely love the Fiola experience.
