Full Disclosure: I am not a Foodie (I am a comfort-food-eating, meat-and-potatoes guy who does not like to see more plate than food). Feel free to skip past this review if you are not the same. My wife and I were traveling with a couple who like haute cuisine, and it was their turn to pick the eatery. We supped in the fancier dining room (not the tavern) and it was quite elegant. Our five-course meal started with a celery root mousse and granola concoction that was puzzling, at best. It was followed by the beet tartare, gnocchi and polenta courses which were all very good. I opted for the duck for my main course which was again, very good, but it was only one slice on a disproportionately large plate. The cheese cake dessert was delicious, but my wife said her chocolate mousse was too intense. Overall, I would give high marks for the staff (very nice and attentive), the food tasted very good (even for provincial like me); and, to my surprise, I was not hungry when I left. Was it worth over $250 per person including drinks (no wine)? Clearly, I am not a Foodie.
