Looking at the reviews, I can say one thing: the people who rave about seem to need to justify the ridiculous amounts they have spent. Our family loves quality - places, for example, like the Wolseley in London which manage to be an "institution" and still deliver high quality and fantastic service. Harry's bar managed to do neither and still charged about 10 times as much.
We went in the height of summer - it was relatively empty. The carpets were worn, the loos disgustingly dirty, the staff had dirty crumpled uniforms on - wasn't sure if that was the "charm" - but there are plenty of restaurants like that all over Europe that don't look worn - this looked decidedly worn.
The prices for simple pasta dishes were north of 50 euros - the Bellini when it did come was WARM and sour. Absolutely disgusting.
Our family of five - three small kids eating not much and my husband and I with just main courses racked up a bill north of 300 Euros. It was eye-watering. The service was passable but it looked like a lot of people were milling about doing nothing.
Certainly a restaurant trading on their past glory. There are better views from the terraces of several hotels rather than this place.
I have had better Venetian food in our local italian restaurant in Chelsea which is (and I only discovered this recently) entirely owned and operated by Portuguese!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! TOURIST TRAP!
