We were travelling from the UK to NY.C to meet our daughter who lives in Toronto. We have wanted to go to Hunt and Fish since before COVID and managed to book a table weeks before when reservations opened. The Good - The restaurant looks great, has a fab ambience and the Food is excellent. The quality and cookery of the food is excellent! The Bad - we were shown to a table in an annexe of the restaurant by the Toilets with no atmosphere where there were 4 tables. There was no explanation other than the restaurant was full! The service was non existent and the diners on the 4 tables were ignored. We met a lot of other diners on there way to/from the WC! The red wine was corked but no staff to complain to. The Ugly - I showed my disapproval by not giving a tip on a $400 check where we ( 3 of us) were in/out of the restaurant on a Saturday night within 1 1/4 hours of arriving. The waitress told the manager that we didn’t tip and he came over. My wife explained the issue and he was non plused. As we left another one of the Managers asked for our feed back and she was a lot more apologetic but tried the explain the room had a nice chandelier and we should have complained! My advice to anyone visiting this restaurant is to challenge them if they show you to the annex and refuse to eat there! It is quite scandalous and a “Rip off”. If one is paying $150_$200 per head you want the whole experience! Russell Nathan
