Il Capestrano Ristorante Abruzzese Milano Reviews from The Last Year
Unlucky evening?
Capestrano offers cuisine that recalls the Abruzzo region. The place certainly presents itself well (I had dinner in the room on the upper floor, with part of the kitchen open) and with elegance. The service is of reasonable quality: I interacted with young people with certainly a lot of enthusiasm, but still with limited experience, especially considering the atmospheric context in which the type of cuisine is proposed. Chef Giorgia (I think this was her name) is certainly present and competent. On the food: we start with the mini taste (offered) of grass peas which I found pleasant as an entrée. As an appetizer the parmigiana was very good! I really appreciated it, with an excellent parmesan cream! As first courses: tortelli (or ravioli I don't remember as it's not a dish I ordered) with bacon (4 quite large) which I had the opportunity to taste, good but nothing superlative, while the Teramo style guitar, really a disappointment. The meatballs, in my opinion, respect tradition, but the sauce was not received! Very little, tasteless and a little rinsed. For me, a regular in the Abruzzo region, a huge disappointment, as well as for the quality, also for the price: 20 euros for a SMALL portion of a guitar with that quality, are frankly not justifiable. The chef's response was not very convincing and she was also a little piqued and annoyed by the criticism, which was, among other things, posed with a smile and kindness. Two glasses of wine by the glass: a white Pecorino which I didn't have the opportunity to taste while I found my red reserve to be of decent quality (10 euros). A bold proposal that tries to propose the typical cuisine of Abruzzo, adapting it to the LUXURIOUS context of Milan... An appetizer, two first courses and two glasses of wine 80 euros. Ps I leave aside the fact that I was told by phone that we would have "a table in an intimate position in the room downstairs" and instead we were placed in the room upstairs in a position, which they said was intimate, with me looking over the guest the emergency exit! But maybe it's because we arrived at 9pm...
nothing special
very ordinary food. Nothing special. But Massimilano was very good at the service. also quite expensive. not recommended
A true immersion in the culinary tradition of Abruzzo
Very welcoming and refined restaurant, suitable for an evening with the family or as a couple, with truly courteous and helpful staff. The welcome from the chef who is very willing to explain her culinary creations is lovely. The food completely reflects the Abruzzo tradition and for those who don't know it it can be an exceptional discovery of flavours, tastes and particular foods of our beautiful Italy. The foods are truly prepared to regional standards and with superior quality raw materials. Compliments to the chef but also to the staff!!! Goffredo
Always a guarantee
Capestrano never disappoints. All cuts of meat are perfectly cooked on the grill (arrosticini, pork liver sausage, ribs) and go very well with the typical full-bodied Abruzzo wines. Service and bill OK for quality/price in Milan (prices have risen in recent years, but like all places)
Excellent to say the least
Couple's dinner organized a few days before. A little inconspicuous place but which, once discovered, will be truly exceptional. Very nice place, very kind staff and excellent food to say the least. Prices normal for the quality of the products. Absolutely recommended, a must try!!
Good and elegant
Abruzzo cuisine revised in the plating but faithful to tradition. Service quite attentive and place very clean. Prices a little high but appropriate for the context. Excellent roasts and at a good price.
“Real” Abruzzo in Milan
Elegant location, excellent service. Competent staff also on the very well-stocked cellar. Let's talk about the food: delicious! Delicious Abruzzo recipes. Perfect roasts, cured meats and cheeses. Also suitable for business lunches and dinners. Correct price for what was eaten. Must return to taste other delicacies
Hmm.....
I'll start with the room, tastefully furnished, on two floors, soft lights, I honestly didn't expect it. Friendly staff, but a little cold, nevertheless attentive. Ate different dishes, from liver sausage, to ravioli, tagliatelle, aubergine flan, kebabs. As for the grilled PGI Lamb from Parco della Maiella: a disappointment. Not very tasty and above all not cooked well, with pink parts that cannot be seen in lamb. Sin . Heavy desserts, apart from the pick-me-up. In conclusion, even if the price/quality ratio was adequate, I would not return.
Excellent confirmation
Had lunch for 4 last weekend. Renovated restaurant with open kitchen. Excellent particular dishes between antioasti and first courses, perhaps my sausage was not so particular (perhaps even difficult to make so) compared to the aubergine pie or the spaghetti with mutton ragout, the stuffed ravilli or the Abruzzo trifle..... The perfect service is attentive, but without being excessive/asphyxiating. All for 189 euros with two glasses of wine included.
Good restaurant
A good restaurant overall Quality food and beautiful location I recommend increasing the quantity of the first courses, other diners at other tables also complained, but everything was very good Fair price for the good quality of the food

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
