Il Melograno New York Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent!
Excellent Italian food place in Hells Kitchen. Excellent atention. Warm place and excellent food. Worth a visit
Simply wonderful
Really lovely small restaurant, nice atmosphere, stunning food, great attention to detail. I had the swordfish which I would definitely recommend.
Siculu Talianu pi veru
An exceptional Italian restaurant that has some authentic Sicilian spรฉcialitรฉs. I started with ยซ Maccu ยป , a winter Sicilian dish that is a purรฉe made from dried fava beans. Topped with wild fennel , that is almost impossible to find in America! My main course was fresh pappadelle in a tomato and fennel sausage ragรน from the ownerโs Nonna. Excellent and authentico !
Terrific Sicilian Spot
Itโs hard to give helpful advice about a restaurant when you liked everything about the place. The restaurant is intimate and attractive, but not imposingly fancy. The service was attentive, helpful, and friendly. We felt comfortable immediately. The food was authentic: good quality and in ample portions. A wide variety of different pastas and flavors from which to choose. (The artichoke cake appetizer was quite popular.) If we lived in New York, Il Melograno would be a regular haunt.

This was my first time here and what a cute little gem of a place. The beau recommended it and he wasn't wrong. Went after work for dinner and while fairly small it was busy for the early hour. We chatted with our neighbors who were off to see a show so it does draw a pre theater crowd. It's dim and cozy and we had the front corner table which I loved. The Caesar salad was fresh and above average. We shared pastas (see pics) and enjoyed them both very much. Spring for the tiramisu which was a little disappointing but you can't win them all. I don't love a tiramisu prepared in single servings but that's just me. Check it out!
Quaint and Excellent Sicilian Restaurant
This is a small Sicilian restaurant in Hell's Kitchen but definitely worth a visit. We had a wonderful meal here of roasted beets, a tasty arugula salad and three superb pasta dishes. The wait staff were excellent. We had gone here a number of years ago and loved it. It was every bit as good as we remembered. Great place to go pre-theater. Highly recommend.

WOW. WOW. WOW. One of the most incredible meals I've ever had. My wife & I are foodies to the extent that we plan vacations around food in certain cities. And this was one of best meals I've ever had. Relaxed ambience in a non-pretentious setting. Amazing service. Great prices for NYC. And the food...the food. Incredible. Homemade pastas. Flavor combinations that are out of this world. Creamy, cheesy pastas. Fresh seafood dishes. House made pestos. The beet salad was one of the best apps I've ever had...and I don't like beets. If you're in the city, near Hell's Kitchen, do yourself a favor & eat here. And ask for Leuminn as your service. Top-notch service!
fantastic Italian cuisine
Il Melograno hits the mark with its fantastic Italian cuisine, especially the handmade pasta. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more pleasant. The cozy, rustic ambiance adds to the charm, making it a great spot for any casual meal or special occasion.
Place is small and quaint but food is delicious.
Beef carpaccio was seasoned perfectly. Pasta sauce 100% delicious. Not watery or creamy it was perfect.
Came here last night pre show O was going to with friends.
I got the Baruta di pollo. The dish came with 2 large pounded chicken breast's that were cooked well but were a bit salty for me. The dish also had about 7 broccoli and over 20 carrot slices. It was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. It's also a great value. The service was prompt and on point .
Christmas time in the city
We had an appetizer and dinner. Service was exceptional. Our selections were a mix from the menu and the specials. Everything was perfection.

Food, service and ambience was fantastic! Cannot wait to return to this neighborhood gem!
Faultless
Found this restaurant on Google and managed to prebook. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. It was cosy and great for couples. We had bruscetta to start and shared it - there was 4 slices. For Main, I had pork in apricot preserve with shallots and mash, and my other half had chicken. The portion sizes were good, and the food was delicious. Not had a meal that good in a while. The service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Super delicious Italian food
We found this little Italian gem on Tripadvisor. Super cozy little Italian osteria with good service. We got burrata with tomatoes, as well as bruschetta with tomato for the lining, together with a bowl of beautiful green olives. The main course was pappadelle with ragรน, tortellini with veal and a sauce of butter and sage, as well as tasty pork on the shank with a good sauce, plus a good Italian red wine Nero n'avola from Sicily ๐ท๐๐ฎ๐น. We finished with ice cream dessert and tiramisu. Super good and homemade with and a good service.
Quaint Italian restaurant with great service.
My wifeโs pesto shrimp dish was fantastic and the veal ravioli I had was okay but thought it could have had more flavour, similar to the Caesar salad. Maybe just a personal preference. Service was excellent!

Came across this restaurant on Yelp as we are staying at the Michaelangelo Hotel on 51st St. The food is amazing! He and I chose to share a few things to broaden what we could eat. First of all, we chose a bottle of Primativo wine. Very delicious! We started with the Burrata salad. Really, really good! That and the bread would have been a nice light meal for me. Their bread comes with oil mixed with sun dried tomatoes. Yum, so flavorful! I ordered the Orecchiette with Sausage & Broccoli Rabe and he ordered the salmon, which we split. OMG! The flavors were so good! The orecchiette pasta was cooked perfectly as was the salmon. Portions are very good! The restaurant is small & I think reservations are best. Some of the two-top tables are very small! They mistakenly put us at a larger table but graciously allowed us to remain when they realized it was only two of us. Thank goodness as I'm not sure how they would have fit everything on that small table. I highly recommend this awesome Italian restaurant and hope to return the next time we are in NYC!
Food is always fresh I had the salmon with cauliflower
Food is always fresh I had the salmon with cauliflower purรฉe and asparagus for dessert the Tiramisu. I was very hungry forgot to take the picture.

We found Il Melograno by accident--we had plans to go to a nearby restaurant that happened to be closed. It started as the "this will be fine" choice, but was a great meal and a nice surprise. Unique item was the artichoke cake (similar in texture to a crab cake).
