Wonderful tapas
Decided to try The Swan as it was conveniently located for a meet up with friends. What a great choice it turned out to be. Friendly welcome and great service. The tapas were wonderful, so tasty. The only problem is it’s too far away from where we live to come weekly!
Be the first to ReplyDouble booked our booth
Outside booth booked online 4 days in advance. Arrived for 3pm lunch to celebrate two birthdays. Was told by waitress booth was double booked but she would check it out with the manager. 15 mins later no sign of either. We went looking for either and waitress had forgotten all about us and was serving coffee to another table. Eventually had manager's attention. Zero apology or offer of free drink for inconvenience just told "anything is fixable". Seated in booth 45 mins late. Food and service then good. Received email yesterday saying sorry we had cancelled our booking! Shan't be frequenting restaurant again. Have supported restaurant since it opened and prior to that when it was a traditional pub for 35+ yrs.

Exceptional drinks and tapas meal with a mate from Hinchley Wood. Croquettes of blue cheese/spinach, shrimps main, squid main and Patatas Bravas - absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and very nice service inside.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tapas portions and lovely staff
We popped in for a little lunch and just 3 tapas each x 3 was a veritable feast. Ella was great on suggestions to share and the local beers spot on. A great meet with friends and a fair price.
Be the first to ReplyAverage Service.
I recently visited, stood at the bar for 5+ minutes whilst no one acknowledged me. Staff were walking past sipping their own drinks. One staff member was arguing with a couple sitting at the bar. Once I eventually was served I asked if there was anywhere solo to sit for one quick drink only to be told “I’m not on reservations”. Very unhelpful. Bar member then said I could sit at one table for 30 minutes only for a disgruntled staff member to come over and get moody with me for sitting at said table. I explained I was only sitting where I was asked to and would happily move! Another member of staff then came over as I had been there a short while and showed me his watch and said I had to move in 10 mins.. (when I thought I still had plenty of time). The lady eventually found me a table but I must say by then I was happy to go. Staff were pretty unhelpful, visibly frustrated during the busy shift and on the whole rude. Shame as the setting is very nice and the food looked great.

I stood at the bar waiting to be served. The only person not being served and was completely ignored. I got someone’s attention eventually as they were standing straight in front of me and still not acknowledging me. I asked why I was being ignored as the female member of staff stood there sipping her drink and getting in the way of the male member who’s attention I got. I was told we are busy (no sign of that at the bar!) No apology at all was just very rude.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday celebration meal
We visited this gorgeous restaurant yesterday for my birthday with my husband. We ordered 10 different tapas and they were brought out over two hours at different intervals which was perfect. The service was prompt and friendly and our drinks were brought over when our glasses were finished. We also stayed the night in a lovely room which was really comfy, warm and a great shower. We will definitely come again to eat and stay. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant and rooms.

Exceptional Tapas, in the late afternoon in this venue. The Potato Bravas were exceptional and the Fish fritters were fantastic. Highly enjoyable grub.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Tapas
Have been wanting to visit here for a while so had an overnight stay on our way back from Windsor. Stayed in one of the rooms in a converted barn just behind the Swann Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything you could need. The bed was comfy and the shower room was well done out. We had booked a table for 8:30pm so had a couple of drinks first. I was expecting a separate bar and dining area but it appeared you could either dine or just have a drink in the one main bar area which was nice as it felt alot more casual. The staff were lovely and friendly and as for the food, well both my partner and I agreed that it was the best meal we'd had for some time. We chose four tapas dishes each which came out intermittently as they were cooked. The croquettes were particularly scrumptious. We didn't receive one of our dishes and when we mentioned this to our server she was very apologetic and offered us free deserts to make up for it. This was great customer service but we declined as we were so stuffed anyway. Our meal, along with a tasty bottle of red wine came to just over £90. We were more than happy to pay this based on the quality of the food and service. If this place was closer we would be regular customers. Would definetly recommend and will definetly be back!
Be the first to ReplyNice tapas dinner and good service
I had only ever had drinks here before but a friend and I came for dinner and had a really nice time. Our waiter was lovely and attentive and the menu had a range of interesting tapas. The flavours were unusual and there was a good selection of vegetarian dishes. We plan to come back.

Kept bringing other tables food to us then took part of our order to another table. Asked for the food at the same time but came apart. Shared a £26 paella which was supposed to be for 2 people and it was a very mean dish. Not a good portion. We were still hungry after. Lots of very young staff who seemed a bit lost. The service wasn’t great and very average food which is a shame as it’s a lovely spot. Won’t be returning
Be the first to ReplyFantastic
We booked the accommodation here for a night after the races, what a great place room was modern, comfortable spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious We also had food and drinks in the pub the staff were friendly, the food was fantastic we had paella to share and the chocolate pot and sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely reccomend and we will be back
Be the first to Reply!!!Best Restaurant for miles!!!
We had such a lovely time at the Swan Inn. Food was incredible - even full up we couldn’t stop eating it was that delicious! Large selection of wine and cocktails available - I recommend the Sangria Cava Pitcher for a hot day ;) Service was wonderful - food came at perfect intervals - had a gorgeous waitress, Inez I believe, who was really helpful, bubbly and kind - we all agreed that we haven’t had such a great service experience in a restaurant before. What a memorable evening! Can’t recommend the Swan Inn enough.
Be the first to ReplyTremendous Tapas
Just spent a great Friday night at the Swan sharing a selection of tapas with friends. Very imaginative menu, brilliant dishes cooked/prepared to perfection. the atmosphere was wonderful and all the staff were brilliant. Great place for a special occasion or a casual catch up with friends or family. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyThis place needs an over-haul
Lunch booked outside but had to move inside due to loud building working noise and dust. Granted not the restaurant's fault but we suffered a rude waiter and a complete lack of service throughout. At one point, towards the end of our meal with all plates left in front of us for 30 mins or more, all the "staff" seemed to have disappeared. By this time we were the only folk in the place. The lavatory's urinal was blocked and the hot air dryer was broken. Food acceptable but very expensive.

Pleasant mid afternoon food - for two others, and drinks. Didn’t eat myself, but the food that was served up, appeared very nice, and by all accounts was so. Drinks were all good, also, and the service was good throughout.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Evening!
Friends and I had a lovely evening, with fabulous and tasty food. Ella could not have looked after us any better than she did! Her check ins with us were perfectly timed and her recommendations, were absolutely bang on! Ella, don't forget our conversation about Churros!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Birthday Lunch
Normally we come for tapas but today we decided to try the suckling lamb leg with white bean stew as a main for 2. Absolutely delicious. Spanish food at its best. Yes it is expensive compared to other Spanish restaurants but the distinctive menu and top quality ingredients elevate it to a special occasion restaurant, not your average tapas/sangria local. Although it is good for that as well! Service was friendly and engaging with the children, who love the churros con chocolate.
Be the first to Reply. it should not be a tappas stick to traditional
roast chicken dinner was disgusting had 2 bottles of wine at £25 a bottle from wine list then they ran out brought us an alternative our fault we should have asked the price it turned out to be £37 a bottle we also asked for a portion of chips for one of the children they couldn't do as it was not on their I pad a bad day and a rip off
Be the first to ReplyExcellent addition to the Pizarro empire!
We booked this as a package including bed and breakfast. The meal was excellent, as usual, and the staff really friendly and efficient. The stand in Manager, Huw, (who is normally based at Pizarros in Bermondsey St, London) went out of his way to look after the customers. A great place to visit in Surrey for brilliant Spanish food.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing overpriced dinner
We have been long time frequenters of Pizarro in Bermondsey and here in Esher but won’t be returning soon based on last night’s meal. The large plate of Jamon was about 1/3 of the size it was back in the summer! It worked out at 2 strips of jamón each for 5 of us which at £27 was ridiculous despite the rising cost of living. To be fair the fish and chips were excellent but when we asked for another one they’d run out and this was at 7pm. Our mainseafood noodles was revolting- hence the need to request another fish and chips! Such a shame as this used to be outstanding. Maybe Jose has spread himself a bit too thinly recently with his deals with BA and the Royal Academy. Let’s hope this doesn’t go the way of Jamie’s kitchen and gets back on track again soon.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing evening ,
2 couples booked this in advance for a special 60th birthday celebration including an overnight stay. Our table was booked for 8.30pm but was able to sit from 5pm we had tapas to start which was over priced £7 for 1 scotch egg ! We picked a main meal at 8.30pm to be told 2 of our choices we sold out ! Considering this was a 60th Birthday celebration we ended up with a Burger which came with salted crisps. The waiting staff were very attentive but when clearing plates and glasses even took them with food and drink still not completely finished without asking . We had a jug of sangria which lasted 1 person all evening and because of this they went to take it away as thought we had had enough .
We expected to have a lovely relaxing evening in an up market gastro pub; unfortunately that was not our experience.
Our room was very comfortable but not as advertised “ King Double “ . We were expecting a king size bed but apparently this is the size of the room. It’s was also advertised as having USB charging points but there are none in the room . They did reduce the room cost by £10 for the inconvenience.
Breakfast was included which we enjoyed but can’t understand why my breakfast poached eggs which I asked to have separate were swamped in Olive oil .
4 of us spent nearly £600 in total for a very disappointing experience. Unlikely to visit again.
When all is said and done it is a pub and you are paying fine dining prices with out the experience.
Total washout, huge disappointment
Our disabled son loves Spanish food and tapas so for a special treat for his 28th Birthday we booked the Jose Pizarro restaurant at The Swan in Esher. I booked well in advance and made it very clear that our son uses a large power wheelchair. I was told that although the main front entrance had a step and was not accessible, there was a side entrance which only had a very small threshold which would be fine and the staff would be on hand to assist. I was also told that the restaurant did NOT have a disabled toilet. As our son was keen to try the restaurant for his Birthday we decided to continue with the booking. We arrived on time but found the small threshold was in fact quite high and our son's wheelchair could not get over it. I asked about a ramp but I was told there was not one, a member of staff produced a thin ceramic tile which he suggested might act as a ramp but the combined weight of the wheelchair and our son would have smashed the tile. As we could not gain access to the building we had to leave, we didn't even get to try any of the food. What a total waste of time and a massive disappointment. We did notice that the place was pretty empty and lacked atmosphere, although it was a Tuesday evening. Luckily for us we drove a short distance into Claygate and found the wonderful Averna Italian restaurant which was accessible and the menu far more comprehensive and far better value. The staff there were fantastic and so our son had a good Birthday - but no thanks to the pitiful Jose Pizarro. We intend to report their lack of facilities to the local council.
Be the first to ReplyGood wine, friendly service but overall disappointing
We went for a Valentines Day meal. The atmosphere was good; the staff were friendly but we would have preferred them to wear masks.
We had a glass of the Cava and a bottle of the Mo Salinas Tinto which were excellent.
The prawn fritters were excellent.
But our choices for main course were both unavailable (at 7pm) Prawns in garlic and Beefburger. The only meat dish available was lamb scewer with chick pea and spinach stew. (mostly chick pea and not much spinach!) The lamb was just ok but tough in parts. We were asked whether we would like the potato runny, medium or well-done but were not given the choice on the meat.
Perfect
Wonderful food , friendly service, great wine and good company .
We have eaten here a few times and the food has always been perfect - what to choose? Everything!
Best to go with a group of at least 4 so you can try everything
