La Goulue Palm Beach Reviews from The Last Year
IT'S INACCEPTABLE
Manager was very rude and ironic.
They have to learn more about customer service. And by the way they charge us $20 for a bottle of water that nobody even drank.

I've dined here quite a few times and have loved it each time. From lunch at the bar to a sit down multi course dinner in the restaurant. Food is excellent! Service always on point. I recommend.

Overpriced French food, and unfortunately not worth the price tag. Very fancy atmosphere (thanks to location being in Palm Beach). Ambiance is lack-luster, decor and colors seem boring and outdated. The bar is full service so we sat there, and were happy with the nice (and fast) bartenders. The food itself left something to be longed for (even more so once the bill came). We ordered the cheese soufflé (Gruyère and parmesan cheese, white truffle oil), steak tartare, escargot (with garlic-herb butter), steamed mussels (with white wine cream sauce) and French fries, filet mignon and the hot molten lava cake (with ice cream). I'm not sure what I was expecting out of the "award-winning signature" cheese soufflé, but it did not "WOW" me. Presentation was beautiful, technique was perfect, but flavor wasn't there for me. Also, $28 for a bowl of cheese and random garden salad, is ridiculous. Escargot was de-shelled, but again was lacking any real flavor. Steak tartare did not have the best presentation, instead of being red/pink, it was brown and was not appealing-looking. Dish needed more salt, and an extra French baguette. The filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and was tender and juicy. Mussels were soft (almost too soft), and unfortunately were presented in a small bowl, where it was hard to get any of them at the bottom. All of the food was just OK. Large selection of wine, but priced at $20-30 for a glass is outrageous. For $450, not including a tip, I won't be quick to return.
Wonderful brunch on Saturday.
Went early, 11:30. Cheese soufflé was the best I ever had. Very nice menu and hard to decide. I'm definitely going back. I can't wait to try dinner. Also, the young man who served us was totally professional (so rare these days - NO "are you guys ready to order?"). Attentive but not overbearing. Perfect! I wish I had gotten his name. Nice table cloths and beautiful glassware and china. Not many restaurants like this around anymore.
Trendy.
Nice interior and atmosphere. Expensive. ($23 for martini and $23 for a glass of wine and over $200 for two people). Valet parking. Had to open all my mussels and make a soup out of them as they were packed in a little bowl with sauce hidden on bottom. Food just OK and equivalent to most any other strip mall French bistro other than the West Coast oysters. Quality and service OK but not worth it. If you drive a Bentley or better, and wear monogrammed Espadrilles, this is the place for you.
Beautiful place for lunch or dinner.
I had the chicken cordon bleu. It was some of the best chicken I have had very nice flavor and not overcooked. The staff is all very professional and make it a wonderful experience for you.
Bad Food for Obscene Prices
Beautiful place, but horrible food that is grossly overpriced. My experience was on Christmas day, and the food was similar to a banquet hall. The turkey roulade was dry and tasteless. The venison was tough and unappetizing. The total cost for 3 was almost $700. I don’t mind paying for a special meal, but this was not even close to special. Never again.
Great ambience, good food , nice wine list, attentive
Great ambience, good food , nice wine list, attentive service. Well worth a visit. Comparable to a nice comfortable bistro in NYC, but not a destination restaurant
I enjoyed our evening here a lot.
The restaurant captures the ambiance of a fine Parisian establishment, except the noise level from patrons was high. The Catch-22 effect is that we all have to shout because it's so noisy. Once our table had amped up our volume, we didn't notice anymore. Our server was very professional but made recommendations so firmly that you felt you were making a mistake to order what you wanted instead. But she was charming, on the ball, and looked after us well. The Tuna Tartare was excellent but surprisingly had no toast. My wife's escargot was very nice, she did have toast which had to be sent back because it was so burnt. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and really tender. My wife's trout was huge and really tasty. We shared an excellent creme brulee and finished up with an excellent espresso. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll put it back on the top of our restaurant bucket list.
Very nice French atmosphere
We liked the look as we passed and stopped. They treated us excellently and we ate very well. Recommendable. It's not cheap, but the food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Great snack lunch. Will return for dinner
Just wanted a light late lunch. Table service was closing. Directed to bar where we had some onion soup and ahi tuna. WOW!. Bar service was great. Both dishes were exceptional. Very best onion soup we've ever had. Needed a knife to cut the cheese that covered the bowl . The tuna dish was quite large and had seasonings and little crunchies that perked up the sometimes wallowing tuna. Highly recommend
Fabulous traditional French bistro menu.
Every dish we had was incredible. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is Palm Beach. Upscale fun. Of course people are going to get turned away if they show up to this restaurant in shorts. It is not appropriate to dine at a fine restaurant in flip-flops and shorts. People need to get a clue.. we loved this experience and will return when in Palm Beach.
Absolument Délicieux
Excellent food and service. The restaurant has an environment of a typical French restaurant and it is located in a charming corner of Palm Beach. The staff is very well trained and cordial. If you are visiting the restaurant, I recommend that you taste the spécialité de la maison: Le Soufflé Au Fromage. Also, don’t miss the Escargots de Bourgogne, Confit du Canard, and the Branzino En Crouteau Four A Bois. Finish the dinner with the Crème Brûlée or Profiteroles. Violà!
Great place for a special evening out
We had wonderful dinner with excellent service. Highly recommend the scallops for an entree. The soufflé was good, but our expectations may have been too high. Overall a great experience.
Great Sunday Brunch
Darling spot on County Road in Palm Beach. Brunch was excellent. The selection was very good:breakfast on the front of the menu and lunch on the back. Wine was pricey. Service was excellent. Food was very good but a bit too salty for me. Expensive.
Vicyssise is not to be missed!
Lovely experience. Staeted with champagne and la vie en rose cocktail which was a tad sweet for my taste, but im in the minority im sure as i dont have a sweet tooth. We had the soufflé with Sierra. salad. But best of all was the vicycoisse soup. Don't miss it!
Not Going Back
Neither the food nor the service was worth the price. Maker's Mark "Neat" @ $35+? Seriously? Was the regular chef on vacation? No idea. Tuna Appetizer was good. We will not go back.
Excellence in Palm Beach
Exquisite from start to finish. Fantastically garlicky escargot. Enjoyed the NY strip steak with pleny of bearnaise. Duck confit got good reviews. Highlight: tarte tatin . Fine, pleasant, speedy service. Complementary valet parking. Tables are somewhat close together, so you may get a chance to make some new friends.
