La Pecora Bianca Bryant Park New York Reviews from The Last Year

We were visiting NY for a few days with our daughter and found this gem of a restaurant searching on Yelp. We ordered from their pasta list and were extremely satisfied with the 3 different entrees we chose. I really don't think you could go wrong ordering any of their pasta. I would also highly recommend their Tiramisu for dessert. It could feed 4 people and so delicious!! All staff were extremely nice. We will definitely go back on our next trip and will recommend to all we know going to NY city in the future.

Good pasta open late in NYC! The appetizer was amazing, the pasta was ok. More expensive than other but better pasta restaurants in NYC. Doesn't come close to East Village staples but it's good for what it is. Our server was absolutely a gem and really elevated the experience for us!
I am so happy I chose this place for dinner.
I've had it on my list for over a year, and I'm thrilled I finally made it. I made reservations two weeks in advance and went with a group of friends. We were 12 minutes late due to traffic in the rain, but the hostess was lovely and immediately seated us. I absolutely loved the interior of this restaurant. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived, but I was definitely blown away. The warm lighting creates an intimate yet sociable atmosphere, with ample space between guests. Our waiter was amazing and attentive. I asked for suggestions on what to order because I'm so indecisive. He provided great recommendations and was very supportive in describing the flavors. He even shared the story behind the restaurant's name and was very kind throughout our meal. I went with the rigatoni, as the hostess mentioned it was the most popular dish. The pasta is made in-house, cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. I opted to add burrata and parmesan to my dish. We also tried the cacio e pepe balls, meatballs, and tiramisu. Everything was great, down to the drinks. I am already planning to return, this time with my partner. I want to try the chicken Milanese or the lamb ragu.
Excellent all around! My entire family of seven loved it!
Excellent all around! My entire family of seven loved it! The ambiance is magical, and the staff made us feel like family.
Spectacular! Ambiance: super nice.
Larger restaurant than expected. Very crowded (I went with a party of 6 on a Wednesday evening) with tight seating. Service: excellent as expected. Food and drink: so good. I don't even know where to start. I always get the scallops if it's on the menu, and I have no regrets ordering the scallops here. The only disappointment I can think of is they don't have beer on tap. But a can + cold glass gets pretty close. This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've tried in the United States.
Disappointed When you have a gold standard of how Italian
Disappointed When you have a gold standard of how Italian food should taste, and you live with an Italian who likes to cook, you have a pretty good idea of when you are at a great restaurant or maybe just so-so. I typically am in the Broadway region of New York when I come to visit, so am always interested in finding a nice place to have dinner. La Pecora Bianca was easy to make reservations in, and it was nice to have a spacious place to sit downstairs where it was easier to have a conversation. All of the wait staff were 100% five stars.. When we sat up the bar to have a drink while waiting for our table to open, we had a menu in front of us that was not currently being offered, so I was a bit disappointed when we were seated and I was handed a different menu with that item not on it. There were also no specials, which seems odd if there is a professional chef on premises. Either lack of imagination or lack of interest.? I ordered the scallops, which surprisingly came appetizer-sized compared to the other food ordered, and other scallop dishes I have ordered at other restaurants. They were served on some kind of a pesto that resembled the taste of bland lettuce from a food processor. The scallops were also, sorry to say, overcooked and under seasoned. The pasta dish that my partner ordered did not offer anything interesting in the presentation, and was rather lukewarm. The sauce was ...sauce, Again, I have a gold standard of fresh Italian dining where I live in Massachusetts.(bNapoli), so I expect more than mediocre in the Big City. With all of the charm of the waitstaff, I was definitely expecting better food..
I was walking by Bryant Park and happened upon this
I was walking by Bryant Park and happened upon this charming establishment! I realize it a "chain" but you realize why there are so many locations once you go here!!! The service was excellent, timely, and thoughtful. I went with a group of 4 people. We started with the vodka pizza, the sauce was divine and the crust was perfectly cooked. The burrata was flavorful and the stone fruit (peach) was so tasty! The entrees were delicious! I had the Gramigna, which has just the right amount of spice for someone who loves all things spicy! The pasta was cooked el dente and the flavors were exceptional My friends had the branzino which I also tried and found to be cooked well, seasoned to perfection, and served with the most delicious greens And the bolognese was no exception to all this! Finally we were stuffed but decided to split the tiramisu and boy were we glad! The sheep logo of the restaurant is stamped on the tiramisu and it was big enough for 4, maybe 6 people to share. It was creamy and not overly sweet! All in all I would go here again and again!!
Food was ok.
..cocktails and dessert were very good. It's right across the street from Bryant Park. We started with the crispy provolone, could have used some more seasoning, and a Paper Plane (bourbon, aperol, nonino served in a martini glass). I had the Pappardelle (lamb ragu, ricotta salata) - big fat pasta. We finished with the chocolate hazelnut budino (like hard chocolate mousse with hazelnut wafers on top).

The ambiance of the place is fantastic, and the food is excellent. The rigatoni pasta was delightful and highly recommended.
Outstanding Italian restaurant near Bryant Park.
The pastas are all made in-house and delicious. Ordered roasted cauliflower, which was perfect to share and ok. Squid ink pasta with shrimp for main - good but a little salty. Wines are a bit pricey and ambience is a bit boisterous but worth it. All around fun times. Service - attentive.

I met a friend at La Pecora Bianca near Bryant Park for dinner and drinks last night. I haven't had pasta in a long time so I'm happy I broke the pasta fast here! I ordered the Garganelli which had roasted wild mushrooms, arugula pesto, garlic, pecorino on top. It was so delicious! The restaurant itself is small and elegant with a comfortable, energetic vibe. Service was attentive, but not overly so. 5pm on a Tuesday and they filled up quick with a mix of locals getting out of work and tourists looking for something not geared to tourists. Prices were reasonable and my Aperol Spritz refreshing. I'd definitely go back.

I recently dined at La Pecora Bianca and had a wonderful experience. The pasta with chicken was absolutely delicious, with a sauce that was both flavorful and I loved the cheese on top. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and have and enjoyable meal with friends. The service was excellent and the waitress was very attentive. I highly recommend La Pecora Bianca and look forward to returning!!

The food is delicious!! This was our favorite spot during our visit to NYC! The service is normal wait staff, nothing too special about it. The lighting is very romantic and moody is the back of the restaurant. I will definitely be back here!

Came here on a recommendation same as most of my eats in New York. Was with a colleague and we had an 8pm reso, quite hungry. Sat in the back half of the restaurant, tables are pretty close together so you're kinda in the next tables conversation and it was a little hard to hear each other. Started with the roasted cauliflower and farro salad. It was really good, especially the salad which frankly could've been my whole meal. Had the garganelli, pasta, it was a little too al dente for me but still enjoyable.
Beautiful place!! Amazing food, came for a birthday dinner!
Beautiful place!! Amazing food, came for a birthday dinner! had an amazing time with friends and the waiter was the nicest!! Not to mention the pasta was simply the best, super creamy, super filling and very flavorful!!

This location is large! We could roll our double stroller in and parked it at our table without obstructing the way. Aside from the main dining room, they also have a library downstairs. The restaurant wasn't full on Memorial Day and we had no issues changing our reservation for a 30 min later start. In fact, there was no one at the library at all. Everything we ordered was spectacular. The truffle honey paired so well with the whipped ricotta, giving it an additional dimension of flavour. They also offered us another round of toast without extra charge. The Brussels sprouts stole the show for us - the combination of rosemary honey, lemon, chili flakes worked perfectly. The house made pastas were al dente and we intentionally chose one with white sauce and another with red sauce, for variety. Highly recommend!

Had the garganelli very tasty, garlicky, burrata is not needed and intense flavor. It could get overwhelming as it has strong flavors. Busy place, recommend getting early and the service is not very fast. Decoration is pretty, nice ambiance. Expensive but in line with NY prices.
Fast service for a table for 2.
I had an aperol spritz and the Gramigna pasta was very delicious - not too spicy and a lot of flavor! The restaurant is very beautifully decorated but can get packed at peak dinner hours so I'd recommend going early. Would go back in the near future!
The best for homemade pasta and atmosphere.
No reservations and was able to walk in and get a table with very little wait.

I was very disappointed in the service and the food at the Bryant park location. I walked in at 530 for our 545 reservation with my client. They sat us promptly and the waiter came over and asked us if we would like to order. We said give is five minutes as we did not want to be rushed and wanted to catch up. It was so loud i could barely here her talk. We then decided on two appetizers and wanted to wait to put in our entrees. The server said she recommended putting our order in at once as the kitchen gets backed up. We asked to wait and she agreed. Five minutes after we got our appetizers the server came over and asked if we decided on our entrees. We put in our order and asked if it would not come out so quick as we were just starting to eat our appetizers. I ordered the branzino and my client ordered the rigatoni ala vodka with burrata. I kid you knot five minutes after we ordered the entrees came out. I had asked four times for a wedge of lemon for my branzino. I finally got the lemon after I was 1/4 into the dinner. My branzino was overcooked and cold. My clients pasta was cold and undercooked. I have to say that this restaurant has the nerve to charge those ridiculous prices with horrible food and crappy service. I do not recommend any one wasting their money. DISAPPOINTING.
Food/Drinks: The food was pretty decent but had some issues.
From the pizza to the calamari to even the different plates of pasta, the flavor was evident, and we can see why people frequent here. Although the pizza had a nice crust and was flavorful, the actual pizza was slightly soggy. The calamari was nicely fried but I feel as though most of the flavor I got was the batter, and the kinds of pasta were decent. Service: Service was pretty slow, and we had to flag down multiple servers. We were seated for about 2.5 hours, which is a pretty long time for dinner. The majority of the time was spent waiting. Ambiance: The place is beautiful, and the decor is wonderful. I thought the ambiance was also very nice.

Went to La Pecora Bianca months ago on a trip to NY for a friend's birthday dinner. And was having a hard time remembering the name of the restaurant. After some searching finally found it and I'm so glad to have so I can go back and recommend it to others because I have been dreaming about the pasta and tiramisu there. We made a reservation as recommended, and were seated and served promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant was great. The servers were all friendly, they even helped us with recommendations for things to do in the area. The menu items were a bit pricey however, for the portion sizes and taste/flavor I felt they were worth it.
Absolutely mouth watering.
The pizza, the pasta and especially the appetizers. Yum. Great location! Wonderful atmosphere.
This is my third time at LPB and it is consistently amazing.
The vodka sauce is out of this world, it's rich but it's perfect. The pizzas are somewhere between Neapolitan and ny style, all are good. I've had the vodka, marg, and mushroom and would recommend any or all if you want! The burrata pesto appetizer is a must, truly. Great service. Always happy there.

A cute spot in Bryant Park for brunch! The ambience is super photo worthy. We stopped by before the St. Patrick's parade. Attentive staff and delicious food! The chocolate croissant was so flaky and paired well with a mimosa. The egg and arugula sandwich was delicious. The cappuccinos our table for were also a perfect way to start the day.
I've always wanted to try La Pecora Bianca and am so glad
I've always wanted to try La Pecora Bianca and am so glad that I finally did. They have a few locs around Manhattan and are super popular. I can see why! The pasta is absolutely incredible. I ordered the gramigna pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe and it was decadent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and all of the ingredients worked so well together. You can add burrata to any pasta for $7 which is a must, and I devoured the entire bowl. It's a cute vibe for brunch and you can enjoy all of the brunchy drinks like cocktails and ice coffee. If you aren't feeling the lunch route there are some breakfast items like eggs and French toast. Service was speedy and we didn't have an issue getting a table for Sunday brunch without a reservation. I'll definitely be back!
Came back here for lunch and still bustling.
It was a little loud for a business lunch but worked out alright. Negroni: I tried both the sbagliato (which was surprisingly good and somewhat refreshing due to the prosecco) and the mezcal which I did like better and would get again. I think the white vermouth really rounded out the flavor. Negronis are so particular in flavor but I feel like most people could enjoy these Cocktails. The Zucchini fritters were good again and got the calamari as well which was good and crispy (comes with a tomato and a creamier sauce). I got the scallops + cauliflower dish which was delicious. The golden raisins and the sauce together completed the 4 scallops.

Always one of my favorite spots! Their cauliflower (yup I said cauliflower and no I'm not a vegetarian or vegan) but their cauliflower appetizer is the best cauliflower I have ever had. It's always a non-negotiable to order it. I love their beets as well and I don't really like beets tbh lol. Their branzino is flaky and delicious! I always love their Brussels sprouts. Of course their pastas are divine as well. I always eat here when I come back to NY
Great food, great service, relaxed atmosphere.
I have eaten at the Bryant Park location several times and it never disappoints. I highly recommend!
Good wholesome Italian
Came here late tonight and to our surprise, it was still open after 10.30pm. We had some pappadelle and tagliatelle both with a raging and meat and sausage. It was very tasty with some fried Brussels sprouts in a lovely sauce. The red wine by the glass was a great bonus. The staff were superb.
Amazing pasta!
The service and food was very good, they have a excelent pasta menu’s and it tasted amazing. It is the best pasta i have ever tasted! Wow
Didn't love it.
Only good thing was Drinks. Most of our table agreed that food was mediocre and especially for the price. Midtown one is better
Overall, this restaurant is, at best, mediocre.
The food is very plain, bordering on bland. The ambiance upstairs seems nice, but we had reservations at 6pm when it was quite busy so we were stuck in the far less fashionable basement. The ambience is unfortunately similar to a 1980's suburban basement down there. We had the beet salad and fried provolone to start. Both were fine, nothing special, but passable. Then we split a vodka sauce pizza and rigatoni. The crust of the pizza was good, but the sauce didn't really work well on the pizza at all. It seemed nearly identical to the vodka pasta sauce I get at Trader Joe's, slapped on a decent pizza crust. That was quite a disappointment. Similarly, the rigatoni was very bland and under-seasoned, like a pasta I'd make at home with sauce from a jar. None of the food was bad, but nothing was particularly good either. The one exception was the tiramisu we ordered for dessert. This was very large and quite tasty, but hardly made up for the rest of the meal. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unless nothing else is available in the area. It was a very underwhelming meal.
great lunch spot in midtown.
service was good. the place is new and pretty. forgot to take pics of the food (was starving) but it was amazing. definitely coming back
GREAT ITALIAN
This place was SO GOOD. The best Italian food outside of Italy I’ve had in a while. Everyone should try it :))) we had the rigatoni, tagliatelle and the garganelli pasta with the toscana salad. 10/10 on all the food.
Amazing bar, fantastic food.
It's a must in NYC. Order the Cacio e Pepe appetizer! Does not disappoint.
Food and service were fantastic.
Prices are very fair, not too expensive and the restaurant has nice outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely recommend for a fun night out or date night.
Good place for a early dinner & drink with friends.
Excellent food, pleasant environment, good service. We sat inside where it was noisy, but not too bad. Probably better to go early.
Over booked and had to wait a considerable time for our table.
We waited 25 minutes for our table after the agreed booking time. We were offered a table outside but it was a cold night and not where we had booked. It took a further 30 minutes to get our food. Little attention in service.
Good location, but service was just okay.
I visited the La Pecora Bianca on Columbus Avenue, as it is close to the New York Historical Society. We were a group of eight, and we tend to spend well, but the manager and wait staff seemed distressed by having a party "so large.". We had just come from an exhibition at the historical society and wanted to have drinks, snacks, and to talk about the exhibit. The place was just a little more than half-full, but were seated at a table for 8 in a covered outside area, as all the empty tables inside had apparently been reserved. (We did not have a reservation). After about 10 minutes, were asked by the manager to move into two parties of 4 --and not sit together. He claimed this was a policy of the restaurant to not seat a party so large at a single table sue to fire safety and separated us. It was disappointing, but we agreed. When the waiter arrived, he announced that the kitchen would close in 15 minute and we had to order immediately. It was a Sunday at about 3 p .m. and the kitchen actually closes at 10pm. (It turns out his shift was ending and he wanted us to rush). Little things like this -- not being able to sit together, being given false information, being rushed -- made it a just-okay experience. We did not order food, but had drinks and wine. Overall, they do not seem prepared for drops-ins and seemed overwhelmed by a part of 8 --so if you really want to eat here, I'd call ahead. By the way -- a party of 8 is a good thing.
