Laser wolf's salatim is today's wonderful upgrade of the salad bar made popular in the 70s. And what a salad bar it is! 10 great Israeli salads highlighted by hummus and served with wonderful pita. You can have as much of it as you want along with soft serve ice cream at dinner's end which is highlighted with cherry sauce. You can order the salatim and soft serve à la Carte. We also ordered the trout which was the best trout, grilled wonderfully with herbs, that I've ever tasted. Additional sides for us were great tasting wings and the best french fries. We were filled but happy. Our only gripe was the front of the house who seated us in a weird place however we straightened it out. I think a bit of training is required for the seaters. They need to smile more and be more accommodative. But this is only a nit. We highly recommend laser wolf
😍
Great spot, food awesome, service impeccable.
Brian and Olivia who came to the table made our night.
😍
The view is unbeatable.
The food is plentiful and the price is more than fair for the amount of food you get. The salatim (a massive tray of perfect dips and delightful small dishes) is compulsory as is dessert (a beautiful soft serve), then you choose an entree and sides (if you want sides. In hind sight, you don't need them, but they are spectacular if you get them). The salatim was the standout. Each little dish was pure perfection. We could have eaten just that but we opted for the foie gras and the french fries as sides. They aren't just any french fries -- they take two days to make and have the perfect crunch. For entrees, the eggplant came highly regarded so we went with that and were not disappointed. It didn't even taste like eggplant. It was otherworldly. We also had the cauliflower but since we were so full we took that home for lunch the next day. Come very, very hungry because you will leave very, very full.

I don't usually expect a restaurant with great views to
I don't usually expect a restaurant with great views to also have fantastic food - but Laser Wolf has both in spades. An amazing rooftop view looking out at the city. They have a retractable ceiling so you don't have to worry about weather. But if you get a nice day, you get to view the sun setting as you dine on a delicious mix of small plates (salatim) that come with any grill item. All of the small dishes were tasty, but the babaganoush was outstanding. And the hummus was creamy perfection. My husband got the chicken (simply grilled and so juicy), and I got the lamb and beef skewer (ground meat kind of like a long meatball). Both were tasty but his chicken stole the show. We'd come back for it - it was so perfectly cooked. A lovely date night place and a great new restaurant from Michael Solomonov.Note - the meal price includes the Salatim platter and dessert so it's not as pricey as it seems. Dessert was soft serve, tho they have a sorbet for non dairy folks.
🙂
TLDR; Great food, great service, it's hot as heck until it
TLDR; Great food, great service, it's hot as heck until it gets really late on that rooftop, prices are decently high, great views. The low down:It's on the rooftop of a hotel so you have to know to enter the hotel and find the hostesses at the base of the elevator that takes you to the top.The views of Manhattan and the Williamsburg hotel water tower are amazing and this would be a fantastic sunset view if you're lucky enough to snag a res (I myself had to settle for a 9:45PM on a Sunday because it's the only time I could get). All of the people we interacted with from the hostesses to the waitstaff and runners were helpful, attentive, and friendly.Unfortunately, NYC is going thru a heat wave right now and since it's a rooftop, it's not the coolest place to be temperature-wise but since I came so late in the night, there was a decent breeze.I got a red tequila drink that had the word sunrise somewhere in the title + cauliflower dish (which comes with all the fixings and rice and ice cream). The cauliflower was great and so were all the sides, but we could barely finish them (even though they're "all you can eat") so we felt that the price point ($45 per person) was decently high given that the sides were split.Overall, this was a phenomenal experience but I wouldn't come again unless there's a celebratory occasion or an epic date I need to plan.
🙂
The food, the views, the atmosphere 5/5.
The staff is the reason this is a 4. And it's small things, so small. But checking in on your tables, filling water, asking if the table needs another drink. Those are so basic but we didn't get that. The table behind us either. We were given their bill, and them ours. Not huge but attention to detail!!Don't get here a minute before your reservation, the staff will not let you in or go to the bar ahead of time. There are many empty tables so maybe they are short staffed ?

Rooftop bar with a view at the Hoxton.
I was here for an awesome wedding. The food and view were great. The drinks were all yummy. Food was flavorful and savory. Everything was delicious.
5 stars but the service, ambiance and value for the quality and quantity of food puts it at a 5. We came here for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience. Our server Tabatha was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and excited for us to experience the meal. What is incredible is that you get the salatim (including hummus and pita, as long with refills on any you'd like), an entree and dessert, but only pay for the price of the entree (around $50). The entree portions are small, but delicious, and trust me you will gorge yourself on the salatim (again, free refills, a slippery slope) and be quite full by the time the entrees arrive. We ordered the short rib and chicken. Both were extremely flavorful and well cooked (the chicken was some of the juiciest we have had), but the short rib was divine. The meat fell apart (soft interior) with a wonderfully crunchy outside. The dessert was the brown sugar soft serve and mango sorbet. Both were really good and a nice way to end the meal.Overall a really fabulous meal in a really cool enclosed rooftop environment. This is arguably the best priced meal for both portions and quality in NYC. The ambiance is amazing and the service is incredible. Be sure to make a reservation 3 weeks in advance when they open in the morning on Resy.

Lots to unpack here! First of all, the view is amazing! As other reviewers have noted, it is tough in the heat because the whole space is open and there is no air conditioning. If you want to cool off and have them pull the shades, you lose the view. Now onto the food... if you order an entree, the salatim (a platter of various dips) and soft serve dessert are included. We did this and chose the lamb and beef koobideh as well as the chicken. Felt like $44+ dollars a pop was a little steep, but I guess if you factor in the refillable dips, it is more reasonable? The dips were delicious- all flavorful, some surprising! It was fun to try a lot of new and different things. Order the French fries- they live up to the hype. We also had cocktails which were good but not great. Maybe they just got really watered down because it was so hot.

Laser Wolf is hands down one of the hottest restaurants in
Laser Wolf is hands down one of the hottest restaurants in NYC right now and for good reason that it's great. The restaurant is inside the Hoxton hotel on the rooftop, which gives a really sleek environment. When you first arrive at the hotel you have to check in with the host and you can wait in the lobby until they call your name when the table is ready. They lead you up to the elevator where you go to the rooftop where the restaurant is. It's the best rooftop dining experience I've had.Make sure you reserve a dinning table to guarantee you a seat with a view and not the counter. The salatim, which includes the hummus, pita, and the the dips are unlimited and free if everyone in your party gets 1 entree per person. It's worth it and be sure you take advantage and have as much as you can. The salatim overall was amazing. The skewers are pretty steep and expensive however the BBQ short rib is a must and I thought the lamb and beef was just ok.Order the fries they were top notch and crispy You end everything with free dessert, which was a nice addition. The negatives that I waited about 20-30 mins past my reservation time before I was able to get on the elevator upstairs. Even though it's busy they should not have guests waiting past the reservation time and I showed up about an hour before. Also the service here is kind of slow. Had to look for my waiter multiple times to ask for refills of hummus and dips.If they could provided better service that was more attentive, and if I didn't have to wait past my reservation time I would give it 5 stars.Maybe I'll come back and revisit in the future to see if they improved Solid date spot Overall I would give it a 4.3 out of 5 stars
😍
LOVED IT - but may want to take a Lyft as parking is very tight - it's Philly
Excellent Service - Food - Ambience - Michael Solomonov - Thank You. Initially had outside reservations. The host was accommodating and we were able to sit inside. Eddie, our Server was terrific. Super outgoing and knowledgeable of all including wines and considerate of any dietary restrictions. In fact, when the Salatim was placed on the table, another Server patiently explained each item. We had the tuna, eggplant, and cauliflower as main entrees. And, dessert was special. BTW - if you can't have dairy. there is a sorbet option. Yes, it's pricey but was well worth it. And, the music playing added to the fun atmosphere.

Laser Wolf is a great interpretation of an Israeli "shipud'
Laser Wolf is a great interpretation of an Israeli "shipud' restaurant. In Israel, there are many of these restaurants that upon seating they bring you small plates with more than a dozen salads and pita. You then order grilled meat or fish. Laser Wolf is a venture from Michael Solomonov, an Israeli chef who made his claim to fame in Philadelphia with Zahav, an upscale restaurant with an Israeli influence. After opening a Laser Wolf in Philadelphia, he opened another one on the roof of the Hoxton Hotel in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The restaurant offers great views of midtown and lower Manhattan. There are some creative cocktails in addition to beer and wine. The meal prices are all inclusive. The price for the entree includes a tray of assorted Middle Eastern salads. They include Hummus + Pita, a smoked eggplant salad, a dish of Israeli pickles and olives, matbucha (Turkish tomato salad), green beans with matbucha, a pineapple salad with spices and celery, a spicy cabbage salad, mushroom and kale salad, gigante beans with olives, and pickled tomatoes and cucumbers. The salads have some kick, but are not overly spicy. The entrees include several choices including tuna, chicken, steak, and ground beef & lamb. There also a few entrees for two. My wife had the steak shashlik (skewer). It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ordered the ground beef and lamb. It was delicious. The skewers were accompanied by some tahini, onions caramelized with dates, and a seasoned rice dish. Finally, the meal included a brown sugar flavored soft serve ice cream with sour cherries, pistachios, and crisped rice. The food was outstanding. It reminded me of similar meals in Israel, but the salads were taken to a higher level of flavor. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. Laser Wolf is definitely worth a visit.

All that I can say for this establishment is bravo! I came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Spectacular view of the NYC skyline at night and let's not even mention the food and drinks...amazing from the unlimited salateem, to all of the meat selections and the signature cocktails...out of sight...definitely going back. My fav restaurant.

Good food but cannot get passed the rude hosts "manning the downstairs elevator". Where are we that we need two sets of hosts. I miss the Philly vibes! Honestly, would not recommend until they rethink staffing.

So the chef behind this restaurant is the same chef from Zahav in Philadelphia... the food is out of this world! Easily one of my new top 10 date spots in the area.Usually places with an amazing (honestly 10 out of 10) views don't need to have good food but this place delivers on all fronts including amazing drinks, appetizers, entrees, ambiance, staffing, and price!
Roque was our server and he was very friendly and helpful. The salatim are so good. My favorites were the beans with olives and the pineapple with celery. Unexpected but delicious combo. Hummus and baba ganoush were also great. For skewers we tried the short rib and eggplant and enjoyed both but let me tell you - the short rib is a must-order! It comes with these intensely caramelized pearl onions and amba sauce that pair perfectly with the short rib. We were lucky to get in on a rainy weeknight without a reservation.

We scored a last minute reservation for Sunday dinner, the views are amazing but be prepared - it's HOT up there. I was not aware that the restaurant was open air, so think no AC, some ceiling fans. Definitely bring your sunglasses for sunny summer days. I agree with other reviews, the staff are very friendly. Our server, however, was not attentive. We waited a while for fresh water before taking our own from the bucket nearby. He did not check on us, and we sat there with finished plates for at least twenty minutes before he came by to clean and bring us dessert. He was nice but just not very attentive. Since we'd been to the original laser wolf in philly before we decided to order proteins we hadn't had, so we got the short rib and the brisket. Short rib was the favorite for sure. Come hungry the hummus is some of the best I've ever had and the salatim is delicious. Mains are not big but if you eat too many pita and salatim you'll be stuffed.
🙂
I was definitely taken aback by the pricing structure; the
I was definitely taken aback by the pricing structure; the meal includes "complimentary" appetizers and desserts, but it appears that the cost is hidden in the entrees. After all, for over $40 for grilled meat, I definitely expected more than just one skewer. I saw a review on Google that said that there's a $24 fee for not ordering one grilled item per person, but we ordered two for two so I'm not sure if this is true. No one said anything about it beforehand. I'm still not sure what I think about this overall; in any case, the combination of the food quality and the views definitely made Laser Wolf worth going at least once. + Salatim - 9/10 - This is "included," but I feel compelled to review this because you will be sorely disappointed if you don't like this and end up paying over $50 per person after tax and tip for one skewer. This is actually enormous; I didn't realize how big this was until I asked for takeaway boxes at the end and piled 2 boxes full. The pita is complimentary, so you can indeed ask for extra. (Does that mean we can get extra of the salatim? We did not run out of anything at all, so we didn't ask). The waiter warned us that the cabbage with fennel was very spicy, but we didn't find it particular spicy. Our favorites were the ajvar (an addictive roasted red pepper and eggplant dip), the pineapple with celery (sweet and sour), cabbage with fennel (lightly spicy, sour, and refreshing), and pickled green tomatoes with harissa (lightly spicy and sour). Clearly, there are a lot of sour notes, which I really enjoy. The baba ghanoush and hummus were pretty good, but nothing exceptional. + Lamb & beef koobideh - $48 - 7/10 - This is definitely the best lamb and beef kebab I've had, but I would not say that it is leaps and bounds better than similar preparations. It was very tender and the lamb's gaminess was tempered by the beef. Flavors were on point. I would not get this again though because I don't think I love this flavor combination enough to justify paying $24 (or whatever the cost is not including the salatim + dessert) for it. + Tuna shishlik - $54 - 7/10 - My boyfriend preferred this because it was at least new and interesting; it was very tender as well and lightly grilled, so it was still raw in the middle. Overall, it was good, but hard to justify paying $30 for one skewer. + Brown sugar soft serve with sour cherries, pistachios, and rice crispies - 8/10 - The brown sugar was definitely there, and the soft serve was creamy and not too sweet. The sour cherries were a little too sour for my taste, but still quite good. Loved their rice crispies. The grilled meats also came with flavored rice, which was pretty good, too. Overall, I enjoyed the salatim most, though I do wish we had more optionality so we wouldn't have to drop over $50 per person just to eat here. The views are killer, though, which puts Laser Wolf in the "Would come back with visiting friends" category for me.
🙂
Great views and food! Friendly and fast service! Definitely
Great views and food! Friendly and fast service! Definitely requires a reservation. Great place to come with a group of friends and catch the sunset on the rooftop! Steak kebab and the trout was tasty! Entrees are a bit pricey for the portions. But overall a good experience.

They just opened, and I was able to score an early 5pm
They just opened, and I was able to score an early 5pm dinner on a Saturday by setting Resy alerts. It's located on top of a hotel, so you take an elevator up from the lobby where you enter with a view of the kitchen and bar area. Due to bad luck, it was 90 degrees that day and our server graciously moved our seats since I noticed that a few empty tables in front of the kitchen/bar were empty and under ceiling fans. Alas, that didn't help much with the heat but the views were great. More kudos to the chefs that day since there was no AC and they were working the grills! As mentioned, unless you get the items specifically mentioned under a la carte, you only really order the protein to be grilled. I loved everything included in the Salatim, and there is definitely more hummus than you think when you see it. The pita bread was warm and soft, and if I had an expandable stomach, I would have asked for a second one. We got the trout and short ribs which were both delicious. Trout is mostly deboned (it's hard to do a full debone so I found one or two super small bones). Short ribs were tender and delicious with the caramelized pearl onions. Dessert was a vanilla soft serve with sour cherries and pistachio crumb bits. Lot of food by the end, but all super good and a great finish to a hot summer's day.

My friend scored a Friday afternoon reservation here and
My friend scored a Friday afternoon reservation here and the experience as a whole was incredibly worth it.Loves:+ Amazing views of the Manhattan skyline+ Sunset time is the best time+ Good cocktails (the prettiest one is the Sunrise Sunset)+ Lovely staff (shoutout to Richie who shared his big 3 with us!)+ Delicious food (loved the chicken shislik and the ajvar which is a roasted red pepper sauce)As a note about how dining works here, it's meant to be community style with the salatim (ie. the lil dippings and snacks you eat with pita) and then you get mains (eg. chicken, beef etc) to accompany it. I would say three portions for four people is a good amount but there is still a surcharge of like $20 if you skip on the fourth main. Overall it's a bit pricey at about $48pp but given how hard it is to get reservations and the ambiance of the place, it's worth the experience when you want to treat yourself.
🙂
Altogether a really delicious, pricey, fun, wonderful
Altogether a really delicious, pricey, fun, wonderful experience! We made a reservation for 10PM on a Friday night (the only reservation we could get). I will say, our host experience was a little weird -- we initially showed up early to see if we could wait at the bar as walk-ins, and the host was very weird about it and told us no. So I'm not sure what the policy is on walk-ins here? We then returned at our reservation time and were told that our table was not ready and the bar was too full for us to wait there. I don't really know where he expected us to wait, we were there at the time of our reservation and he offered no suggestions or help. We asked if we could please go up and wait regardless. When we got up, the bar was definitely not full, and we were seated pretty promptly. So I don't really know what the host was talking about but he didn't do the best job of communicating! I feel like we probably just could have gone up earlier in the first place...so next time I might be a little more insistent that I'd like to chill at the bar.We sat down and got a bottle of wine and ordered 3 dishes from the grill -- the trout, the lamb & beef koobideh, and the shawarma-spiced cauliflower -- as well as 2 a la carte items, the foie gras and the date-harissa wings. The salatim came out first and were delightful. The hummus is honestly some of the best I've ever had, it tasted so fresh! I also think there is no experience quite as wonderful as opening up a steaming pita. As I sit and write this review I am eating leftover pita and hummus on my couch and it's still 10/10. We then got the foie gras and the wings. I was not impressed with the foie gras, which was oversalted and weirdly cooked. Also, for the price it was just not a lot. I feel like I can go to any French restaurant and order a whole thing of foie gras for way less money. The wings, however, are a MUST. They are so sticky, sweet, and savory. I literally wanted to tear them out of my friends' hands and eat them myself. Our waiter had recommended the whole charred trout, and that was definitely the favorite. It was so smoky and well-spiced, and it was cooked PERFECTLY. It was very tender and delicious. I also loved the charred skin. The lamb/beef koobideh was very good, but also I felt not a lot of meat for the price of $48. I recognize that the price of the meat includes the salatim etc, but if you're here with a big party, there's like 5 little balls of meat. That being said, the flavor was great! The cauliflower was very good, and super interesting. I love that they have such great vegetarian options, but again, it is $45 for a head of cauliflower with spices and I felt a little silly. We ended with dessert, which was this brown sugar ice cream. It was a little too sweet for me, but my partner absolutely loved it. The cripsy bits on the top are great and I love the pistachio. Their pricing system is also a little frustrating, because we really only wanted 2 entrees for the 3 of us, but were told that there would be a $24 fee for the third person because of the salatim (sides) and dessert. Don't get me wrong, the salatim are dope, but I wish everything was a little less expensive. I definitely understand that you don't want people to come in and only eat the sides, but we did not need 3 entrees between the 3 of us. That being said, for the price, the whole experience was wonderful. Our service was GREAT once we were actually upstairs -- our waiter, Scott, was wonderful, attentive, and friendly. He clearly really cared about making sure we had a good experience, and he was super knowledgeable about the food. His trout rec was phenomenal and ended up being our favorite thing from the grill. He always somehow knew to come by when we needed things and was so so fun to talk to. We didn't get to enjoy the view too much because it was such a foggy night that the entire skyline disappeared, but I still totally loved the experience -- the great service from Scott, the excellent food, the nice vibes of the restaurant, and the fun unlimited salatim made for a super fun meal. I would definitely recommend!
😍
I had such a great time at Laser Wolf.
A friend of mine booked the reservation before they were even open for the public and a few weeks later here we were. The moment we got off the elevator, we were met with warm smiles and friendly staff members. Our party was sat at the end of the hall where we had a wonderful view of the NY skyline. We were a party of 4 and we knew we wanted to get as many items as possible. The beautiful thing about Laser Wolf is that the menu is designed to be shared. We started off with a few cocktails and the Salatim. The hummus was so good! Easily the tastiest hummus I've ever had. To continue the journey, we ordered the French fries, Foie Gras and Lamb-Beef Koobideh. As we continued our evening, we asked the server to give us a few recommendations on what to order next and he was happy to give us his insights. We got the Chicken Shishlik, Whole Trout and the Shawarma Spiced Cauliflower. All of these were delicious but the Whole Trout was definitely the standout dish for me. Fish dishes are usually not my go to but I must say I am so happy we ordered it. As we wrapped up our meal, we got a bottle of the Mount Hermon rosé and bantered the night away. Laser Wolf exceeded my expectations and I'm looking forward to my next visit. The view + the food + the service made this spot one of my new favorite restaurants in the city.
😍
So happy this restaurant is worth the hype.
I highly recommend the cauliflower as one of the mains. You've never had anything like it. Views are great (I live in the neighborhood but being higher up makes that sunset even more spectacular). Service on all fronts was on point (hosts bartenders servers and bussers). Will return!
