Lavo Italian Restaurant - Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
Best oysters and vibes
I eat the best oysters ever! I have no idea if it was the mood, the vibe, the champagne or the fact that i mixed them with slice of pizza…i just love the place!!!
Good
We had a great night. The ambiance is so good with the city lights. The food is good and the staff is very accomodating especially Naveen, Ganesh!
Disappointing Service and Food
We expected a lot more from this restaurant given the reviews and the general food scene in Vegas. We were sorely disappointed - not only was the service slow, unattentive and disinterested, the food was equally disappointing. We ordered the giant meatball, which from the review, looked fantastic. When we cut into it, we discovered it was dry and cold inside i.e. it was reheated from frozen. Needless to say, we sent it back. We ordered the calamari intead - it was a huge serving (dare I say, American-sized), with a light batter, but unfortunately, far too salty to finish, to the point where I drank 4 glasses of water just to cut the salt. Although we had planned on ordering proper mains, just to make sure we didn't go hungry - we ordered a wood-oven pizza - this was the best part of the meal as the crust was nice and airy and toppings fresh. Overall, between the service and the food, I would not recommend this restaurant, and definitely will not return the next time I'm in Vegas.
Everything from food to ambiance to service was just A1.
They were very accommodating on a busy holiday weekend and extended our reservation time
Party of 5 Went for the unlimited brunch about 130
Party of 5 Went for the unlimited brunch about 130 unfortunately only 3 were on time. They were such sticklers for only sitting complete party which I can understand to an extent. We were finally able to be sat after assuring them the other 2 were minutes away. The service was a bit slow, as we found out later they were closing for renovations few weeks later (as closed by time I've done review) so kitchen was slow as well as light on servers. Beyond control we understood, our waitress did her best although visibly annoyed and overwhelmed. Food was decent, drinks were fine as we had a larger party we just received the champagne to table Overall would possibly try again after renovations are done.

So this was my formal dinner night that I had chose for my bachelorette party. I will say 10/10 for the food. My dinner was absolutely delicious. The Caesar salad was so tasteful, and everything went well on the food aspect.. however, they wouldn't seat us until our full party was there. There was 10 of us total, nine showed up together, we were waiting on one person. Just one. I feel like with the one person they could've just seated us considering it wasn't busy, but we waited. Whenever we got seated, the server came right over Introduced himself was super kind and nice, but that was the only time we ever saw him. Took them forever to take our order. We stopped a different server at least 10 times throughout. They ended up charging us for a few extra salads and we never got them. We got some random salad after we finished our food, and confused of what was going on. We had one interaction with the original server, which was a bummer because he did come up as a nice guy. We had reservations at nine we didn't get our dinner until about 10:30. We kind of got the same thing to eat so it wasn't a huge big mixup of an order. We were waiting for the check forever. We asked two different servers. Finally, they brought us the check and some random dessert plate, which I thought was really kind but at the same time, we were to the point to where we were ready to go as it was approaching midnight. This definitely took some our vegan fun time. It was still a delicious food restaurant, and it was with my girls, but the service definitely was a 1/10. The ambiance is stunning inside and outside. The bathrooms were so clean. Everything about the restaurant would make me go back, but the service definitely needs to do better.
Complete miss
Okay room. (They are shutting down in August to renovate so maybe it will get some character?) Service was excellent. Wine list pretty limited. Now the food. Octopus was hammered - like chewing rubber. Branzino equally overcooked PLUS stuffed with lemons making it taste like … lemon .. white stuff. Spaghetti with meatballs also a miss. (Meatballs were good - sauce was flavourless. Complete miss.
During a recent conference in Las Vegas, a friend and I
During a recent conference in Las Vegas, a friend and I went to Lavo to try the infamous meatball. Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling with activity, waiters were running around haphazardly, the restaurant was not yet packed, we were just arriving before the dinner rush. Our server was moderately attentive, diving in and out amongst multiple parts of the restaurant throughout our dining experience. Our table was in a low lit corner, which was difficult to enter and exit, with only one point of entry for the booth. We did not receive bread or water until having asked three other staff members passing by. The cocktails were not optimal, cute for display, but not as flavorful or strong as expected. The fish was alright, not anything I would go back again for, I was also disappointed with the pairing and sauce, it was nice for presentation, but I would have preferred if the fish was not swimming in the sauce. The meatball, though well prepared for a meatball, was overwhelming. The portion size was so hefty we barely made a dent, and it left us feeling sluggish and stuffed after consuming. We were also served the desert without utensils, we had to wait several extra minutes and request these items from other servers. Overall, I found the restaurant to be opulent in design, but as a customer, I felt a few things could be improved, from the seating arrangement, to the food, to the service.
Very good service.
Very bad food. Palazzo Casino needs to rethink this kitchen. We had a large group with us and out of 8 meals only one item was considered good. The Meatball appetizer was good although pricey. I had the lasagna which was tasteless. I have had better frozen dinners. My partner has the chicken Parmesan. He said it had no taste and was had the texture of rubber. The price on wine was completely ridiculous. $23 a glass for a wine that goes for $18 a bottle in a store. There are better choices all over the place.
Just OK
Ate here with 10 people for a business meal. First off they won't seat anyone until ALL the party shows up. One person was 20 min late and they made us wait at the bar. Thats reason alone not to go back. Second they say 10 of us at a table literally not large enough for 6. It was comical. They said this was the only table available. Service was SLOW. Food was decent. The meatball and garlic bread appetizer was probably the best. Bathroom attendants! ARGH. I won't rush back.
Elegant, well-designed restaurant.
That's where the pros stop. -servers congregate at the end of the bar and yak with each other -food is pricey but tastes about the same as a Marie Calendar's -servers are not attentive or even interested in the customers In my visit I sat at the bar and had the misfortune of the most standoffish bar tender. An arrogant, cocky and completely apathetic kid who spoke with complete disdain. He didn't have time to even refill my water but he had time to yak with the other employees and hug and kiss them. This was a rare case where I left no tip. This shouldn't happen anywhere but it is even worse at an upscale restaurant.

Food- food is ALWAYS delicious here! We had the crispy chicken and the seafood alfredo! Super flavorful! We also received a complementary chocolate cake for our anniversary. Service- the server was friendly. Always smiling! Very helpful. She made recommendations. Ambiance- it's quite dark in the restaurant. It was busy- different types of people- from couples to groups of girls celebrating a bachelorette party. Because it was busy- the noise level was moderate. The bathroom is clean! The restaurant vibe is cool and trendy.
Great food. Great service.
Food was incredible. Order the meat balls. They are so worth it. The house salad dressing is a must. The twenty layer peanut butter cake was the perfect finish. Ask for Anthony to serve you.

The ambiance was very similar to any other Italian place; dim lights and some music playing in the background. The food lacked a bit of seasoning but otherwise it was a great meal. The service was phenomenal. We were celebrating a birthday and our server brought our a free dessert that wasn't on the menu.
We came here for an early Mother's Day dinner, hard pass.
We were seated in a very odd corner of the restaurant in very uncomfortable chairs. Service felt very forced, meaning I felt like the waiter tried to push every single high priced item our way. I've never felt like this before. I personally skipped an entree because nothing seemed appealing and I was turned off. I will say I did enjoy the meatballs and salad.
Great place for dinner and so good music
Very nice restaurant, the ambiance was very appealing, the wait staff was very attentive to our table. The food was amazing. The Crispy Chicken “Dominick” was delicious. The servings were well above what is served at other restaurants.
It was ok
Ive been a few times and i hate how you never get sat at the correct time. There is always a wait to be seated here. My food (spag carb) was highly average. Hardly any bacon/pancetta, way too creamy and no pepper. My partner loved his chicken parmigiana. I mainly brought him to try the oreo zepolle and it didnt dissapoint its so delicious. Service was ok, nothing outstanding they done their job. Atmosphere was fine, and didnt wait too long for any courses.
Sat at the bar.
...bartender forget to put in our order not once but twice...she offered us a free meal...over an hour later the food never arrived and we walked out
excellent service
We had the most wonderful service from Kayla (from Chicago) and Andre (actually from Las Vegas!) at our dinner. Food was great and they made the dinner with their professional service and knowledge. One item to note is there is zero dress code, we actually took what they said to be true, business casual. We were one of the few tables not in cargo shorts, flip flops and t-shirts. So wear whatever you want, it doesn't matter. Too bad, would have made the evening much more classy.....
Yum
We had a large party for dinner. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. We ordered appetizers and shared some meals. Portions are large. The garlic bread could have fed 2 tables. The chicken parmigiana and spaghetti and meatballs were excellent as was the lobster special. We also shared awesome desserts (strawberry tiramisu was out of the world) and a few bottles of wine. We were able to keep the bill at about $70 per person including tip. This was our favorite meal during our trip.

A five star restaurant at its finest! This place has an unbeatable ambiance especially outside up top in the outdoor terrace dining area. Picture in the evening the view of the strip while enjoying a nice glass of cabernet indulging in delicious Italian food. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the staff was so attentive. I believe this place is perfect for an amazing unforgettable date night no doubt.
Food is amazing.
LINGUINE MARECHIARA had more seafood than any dish I have ever had. Service was top notch.

Will nickel and dime you over everything and try to sneak whatever they can into the check to get extra gratuity. Offered us a choice of tap water or water that costs $9 a bottle with 0 communication of extra pricing and kept refilling without so much as a simple confirmation. Ended up paying $54 for WATER not to mention the $25 charge for a 2-year-old eating fruit and an "accidental" Caesar salad charge for another $25. When we complained we got gaslit and told "Sorry you feel that way but you consumed it so we thought you were okay with the charge" Great decor though!

Very quickly my wife and I learned why this place is 3 1/2 stars on y'all everything that people say is true. Manager is a complete degenerate, moron, who has zero urgency or understanding of customer service and for a high end restaurant that is absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place there are so many nice restaurants around that will combine good food in good serviceservice at Lavo is absolutely unacceptable
Food was fresh and delicious.
Such a pretty environment with great service. Charred octopus was a 10/10 could've done without the beans though.
Food was good.
Server had very little patience. Was there on a Saturday for brunch and there is no "party" or "dancing on the tables" as advertised. When I made the reservation, I was asked if there was a special occasion we were celebrating and I responded that it was mom's 82nd birthday. I let them know again about her birthday when we showed up for our reservation. They did NOTHING special for her, not even wish her a happy birthday. Very, very disappointed.
Below average food for above average prices.
This is a beautiful restaurant. Service was below average. Food was also below average. Too crowded on Friday evening meant unreasonably lengthy dinner. Never received dessert we ordered so we cancelled it and left. No excuse for that especially when 1 meatball is $31 and garlic bread is $20. Multiple better choices for Italian at the Venetian for far less money.
Don't get the chicken marsala.
Ambiance was good. staff was nice. Spaghetti was great. They at least removed it from the check.
Not a good dining experience
It started off OK, it’s a nice room, good energy, maybe a bit loud. My friend has a pizza, the Angry Maria. It wasn’t just spicy it was burn your lips hot with chile oil. I ordered the lasagna which I always enjoy at a good Italian restaurant. It was terribly dry, warm not hot, and no sign of cheese. I had to request extra tomato sauce just to eat it. It didn’t help much. They were nice enough to take it off the bill. We asked the waitress for a dessert menu and that’s when things fell apart. She brought us the check. We told here we were interested in dessert so we got the dessert menu. We ordered an expresso (double), a coffee and a gelato dessert. First came the hazelnut log dessert we did not order. We sent it back never to dessert again. Then a like warm single espresso arrived with lukewarm coffee. We asked the waitress to correct the situation. We eventually got a hot coffee but no expresso and no gelatin. The frustration mounted so we finally asked for a check. I will never go back. The couple at the take next to us had an even worse experience and they just got up and left. Find another place for Italian food in LV.
Terrible experience
We went to have a special night. Our reservation was for 8:30. It was not crowded but we were not seated until after 9:00. We had to ask for the bread three times before finally getting some at 9:30. Appetizers were delicious. However the main meals were awful. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Pasta dish was also overdone-tasted like it had been thrown into the microwave to reheat. Very disappointing meal.
We were moved to another table so our food came out cold.
Maureen our server made sure for us to get fresh food. It was a great fix. We had a fantastic time thank you Lavo!

Late night cravings and a chill vibe! Definitely can be shared but I ate it solo - Tried the margherita pizza and crème brûlée cheesecake. All the staff I interacted with were friendly too!
Lavo Italian Restaurant on The Strip hit the spot.
I ordered the carbonara, asparagus and spaghetti and basil. All excellent choices. I would have ordered more, like the giant meatball, if we weren't in a hurry to get to The Sphere. I'd book reservations as it fills up.
Very good food
Nice restaurant. The food was really good and they give you good portions. We ended up waiting over a half hour from our reservation time but they gave us 1 free round of drinks for waiting so was fine. It’s a busy place and gets loud during dinner but we were fine with it. Highly recommend going here.
