Mercato Mayfair London Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing setting and great food options
Loved this place! So many options and something for everyone. I am amazed by the converted cathedral/church to this street food market place. One of my favorite spots for lunch with friends in London.
Stupid Water Bottle Policy
We had our bags searched at the door and water bottles confiscated due to what we were told was an environmental sustainability policy. This forced us to buy drinks inside which were in plastic containers and upon leaving we then had to buy more water bottles to replace the initial bottles. When I asked the rude staff on the door to explain their ridiculous policy they literally laughed at me saying the plastic served inside was biodegradable. It isn’t. So if this is their policy then please bring your water inside in a paper cup and see what they have to say about that.
It's worth having something
Very curious market in London. An old church converted into a market. Super pretty. There are several restaurants upstairs, one of them Spanish. It's worth going even if it's just to have a drink.
Top location - food mediocre at best ;-(
The location is unique and definitely worth a visit! But you should leave it at a drink - the food is average at best and, considering the quality, overpriced even by London standards!
Do not recommend
I visited Mercato Metropolitano and was thoroughly disappointed. The place was packed to the brim with people, making it impossible to move around comfortably. The lack of proper ventilation made it feel suffocating, and the excessively loud music only added to the chaos. To top it off, I was shocked to find out that they don't allow peopleto bring their own water bottles. As a Catholic, I found it incredibly disrespectful that images related to biblical passages are still displayed while people are drinking, eating, and partying. I won't be returning anytime soon.
Restaurant is always great fun
This Mayfair restaurant serves Italian-style cuisine, The Italian-style food appeals to local residents and international guests in London. Marcato Metropolitano is a great spot in Mayfair for lunch and dinner. This restaurant is one of the most popular Italian sites in London. We loved visiting Mercato Metropolitano for lunch. The restaurant 's lunch was great fun.
Amazing
Certainly one of the best food courts in London! As much for the breathtaking setting as for the quality of the dishes offered by the different corners.
Original and accessible
In this church in the center of London you can eat delicious dishes for an affordable price. It's not expensive and the quality is good, a plate of pasta costs about £15. There are many other dishes to eat such as pizza, Asian dishes, sweets, etc. The place is very nice and although it is not particularly comfortable, at least you can sit and eat in a different place with special views.

Great ambiance and a wide selection of food and drinks from different vendors. We had the homemade pasta which was absolutely delicious
Lovely market in central London
I come here very often, very central place, lovely atmosphere, loads of stands where to choose from! Definitely recommended
Very busy on a Saturday night but good vibe! The pasta
Very busy on a Saturday night but good vibe! The pasta place we tried was good. Can't be scared of crowds if you come here. Lots of options here.
Fabulous food hall
Went following a meeting with colleagues bases purely on an online recommendation. Impressive entrance. Lovely atmosphere. Obviously popular as constant stream of people coming and going. Good choice of both food and drink over 3 floors (basement and balcony). All very reasonably priced. Quick service. Will certainly be returning on my next visit to London
Crowded market
This old church converted into a market with different restaurants and cuisines on three floors is busy and crowded on a weekend. I went to the ground floor, like a dungeon where I found a sushi bar. I ordered a tuna sashimi and it was good. There were different kinds of food from pasta to Malaysian randang with rice on the second floor. There's a wine bar for those who like to sip a glass of wine or hard drink.
Yes, Make a Visit
Outside the well dressed groups of ladies pushing to front of lines like they own the place, Mercato is great. Used 5 of the food and drink options and all were very good. Place is packed on weekends so get there earlier than usual dinner hours. The structure is what makes this place paired with variety of food options.
Horrible service, overpriced, family unfriendly - DO NOT GO
One of the worst overpriced places in London. Poor capacity control resulting in absolutely no place to sit especially as I went with a young family. We landed up sitting on top of some cupboards in the corner to eat. The staff were not happy about this and brought security to tell us to get off with absolutely no suggestion of where else I could sit with my kids who by this point were hungry and had already started eating. Staff were totally unhelpful and just said we had to find a table (when they could clearly see there was none and would not even offer to help us find one). Never ever ever go there with young children - even if you paid me I would not go there again. Better quality food available elsewhere in London (it is a big city after all!) with far politer staff and better service!
Found this place accidentally while we were waiting in line
Found this place accidentally while we were waiting in line next door at the Mayfair Chippy... Saw lots of people going in and out and since we had time to kill, decided to each walk over and grab a drink... liked what we found so much we came back the next night for the full experience! Two stories of food and drink booths, music and shops... a great place to spend some time and fill your belly!
Spanish restaurant ruins the place!
Its the first time I face this much rude behavior in a restaurant. The waitress in spanish restaurant at 2.nd floor shouted at me, she was never polite and kind , and never welcomed us. She disrespected us and she lied to the guard like we swear out (I didnt). Why a waitress see herself as superior than customer? I just want to see smiling face from a waitress and she hasnt! You pay for nothing! Never ever!
Historic Church turned
Historic Church turned Foodhall=GastroSanctification Heaven Yes!! A bustling sanctuary with local vibe and mix/match tables, quieter enclaves can be found in the wine cellars below. Upstairs alter views yielded a steaming bowl of sinfully soaked mussels, fresh oysters mignonette, and a righteously grilled sirloin that proved good steak can find its redemption in London.
It was an interesting experience to see a church turned
It was an interesting experience to see a church turned into a food hall. If you like crowds and the challenge to find seats, then this place is perfect. We weren't too impressed with the Malaysian Street Food. On our way out, we had match near the main entrance. The first security guard at the door didn't check our bags. However, we noticed that this other security guard was checking bags and asking people to throw out their outside drinks. Interesting.
What an amazing place to grab a bite and a drink!! It was
What an amazing place to grab a bite and a drink!! It was absolutely stunning with a wide assortment of food stalls and mini bars.
This is the absolute coolest establishment I've ever been
This is the absolute coolest establishment I've ever been to HANDS DOWN. If you are in Mayfair you need to go. They have every food you could imagine and the aesthetic of the church is awesome. The wine crypt downstairs is great and they even have a rooftop seating area. Tried the pasta spot, ice cream, and bao buns.
This place is so rich in history and so many food places!
This place is so rich in history and so many food places! It was an old church turned in to cutest space! It was bustling and busy! Such a good place for dates and groups of you just pop into London! I loved it! German beer Thai food and right next door the best fish and chips. Everyone working seems to be friendly enough and quick with service. There's even a bar with a long table down in the tomb/crypt! I totally recommend this place!!
The food an ambiance were five star, but im docking a point
The food an ambiance were five star, but im docking a point for this (and maybe it's just a british thing and i have no idea)... they started clearing people out long before it closed. First you had to leave the terrace (which is lovely and somewhat hidden above the 2nd floor), so we took our food downstairs. Then they said everyone had to leave the second floor. By the time we got gelato downstairs, they were warning people there. It was an odd experience. I didn't understand why it didn't just close at closing time. All that said, if youre going early enough, I definitely recommend the experience. So many choices and seating areas.
Excellent food and incredible ambience.
Lots of great options, we had pasta and wine and gelato and all of it was great! There is even a rooftop where you can get drinks but it's usually busy especially in the summer. My only issue with this place is that since it's an old church and it's busy it gets very hot in the summer.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
