Pizzetta 211 San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent
Great cheese salad with homemade nutts. Very light, tasty with the right quantities. The pizzas were perfect, with a thin dough, perfectly cooked. Really great and tasty like never seen before. Apple pie was so good, with caramelized edges. Small restaurant, smiley and friendly service. To be recommended

We visited this great little pizza spot before going to the Legion of Honor. The menu is small, but there are great choices, including vegetarian options. Staff is friendly. We got there a few minutes before they opened at 11am (it was a weekday) and a short line formed soon thereafter. I think it would be busy on a weekend! There's plenty of outdoor seating, and limited indoor seating. We really enjoyed both pizzas. The farm breakfast pizza was especially good! Would definitely recommend! Crust was delicious.
nice pizza.
delicious actually!!! service is reminiscent of San Wo's - not really flexible, kind of in your face but quirky in a mostly good way. try all of the offerings and sit outside in the fog with and the heat lamp.

Love the ambiance of this place! 3rd time here and have taken ppl visiting sf everytime! Love the seasonal menu so it's new pizzas when I come
I was in town visiting my Aunt and Uncle, and they wanted
I was in town visiting my Aunt and Uncle, and they wanted to treat me to a nice restaurant, so we went to Pizzetta. It looked promising at first: a long line, a simple menu, and good reviews. What could go wrong? When we were seated, we were promptly brought our water and menus. We would order our food when the waiter came around (a younger man with longer blonde hair), and that would be the first sense of friction throughout the night. We ordered the daily special; two were offered that day. However, when the waiter mentioned an artichoke salad, my aunt jumped to order that one. She ordered before the waiter could explain the second one, seemingly a little irritated by her excitement for the first special. He explained the second one as well. We also ordered three pizzas: an anchovy pizza, an egg and bacon pizza, and a lemon/asparagus/speck pizza. This is where our night took a turn. As we waited for our food, things that felt odd began to happen. First, our salad took a while to come out (10-15 mins). And when the salad came out, it was the wrong one meant for another table. We get it, accidents happen, no harm, no foul. But then we waited for our pizza to come out, and it didn't come out for nearly an hour after we ordered. Writing a review about slow service is one thing. But as we waited for our food, I witnessed 4 parties seated around us, both dining indoors and outdoors, be seated after us, order after us, and receive their food before us. At first, I tried to reason why that may be, but it didn't make sense. I saw the same pizzas being ordered and delivered to other tables. Perhaps they wanted to serve those sitting outside who might be colder quicker--understandable. But I saw the other indoor tables receive their food before us. I saw the table across from us even stare at our empty table. It felt like a deliberate choice to serve us so slowly. I'm not sure what we did to deserve it, but I only write this review because maybe when you eat at this restaurant, you'll be wondering what you did to deserve such disrespectful service. And I'll be truthful, the food was really good. Perhaps this is a takeout-only restaurant. However, after the service I received, I don't plan to ever go back, and I plan to make sure none of my friends have to deal with being ignored at a restaurant that is so highly touted. My advice: there's plenty of good food in the city that are happy to serve you and aren't far. Save your money. Save your time.
I'm a pizza connoisseur.
Period. This by far has the best pizza (that I've experienced) in San Francisco. The only drawback is that you can't customize your pie. However that is a small concession for a place to eat a great pizza.

Finally made it back here after a long time away and it's just as good as I remembered. The "Farm Egg, Bacon, Collard Greens, Garlic Confit, Gruyere" was amazing, the salads were great, and the brown butter apple tart was astonishingly good (we think it has some sort of custard in it? Not quite sure what was going on there but wow).
A favorite neighborhood pizza spot.
My wife, sister, and I come here monthly and it is consistently the best!

Came here on a weekday for pi day! You do a checkin with the host outside in front of the tree to put down your name and number of guests. Off to the side, there is a counter with 4 bar stools where you can wait at. We were seated where they do have heat lamps. Service here is definitely iffy. Our host wasn't very friendly when we arrived, we weren't given any water for a while and my root beer was forgotten until I mentioned it. Our pizzas arrived in a timely manner and it was hot. * Farm Egg, Ham, Asparagus, Gruyere-Mornay $19.00 * Lamb Sausage, Spring Onion, Garlic Confit, Mint, Tzatziki $19.00 * Mushroom, Pistachio Pesto, Green Garlic, Fava Green, Parmigiana $19.00 * Panna Cotta with huckleberries $8.00 * Complimentary key lime pie Our favorites were the farm egg and the lamb sausage. Looking forward to coming back here again for the food but maybe when we're less hungry.
Food was good but service was a bit slow.
The pizzas were very well made and had very creative toppings. Outdoor seating was nice!

Amazing gourmet pizza! If you're up for crispy and flavorful pizza, this is the place! Four of us came for a Sun dinner and they were full but no constant lines. Their menu was relatively limited, a few salad & cheese options and individual sized pizzas. We shared one salad and four pizza. The salad was tasty but portion was small. The pizza was definitely no joke! My personal favorite was the seasonal farm egg-ham-asparagus pizza, the ingredients came together perfectly and you can't find it in any other places. They have larger outdoor space than indoor. Overall not a big place, but chill and cozy.
The pizza is lovely and very new California cuisine.
The servers here and the draconian rules about what side of the tree one must stand on aren't the most inviting however. Hence 4 stars.

Let me start by saying I think the food at Pizetta is amazing. The seasonal salads always impress as do the weekly and every day pizza selections. Now to the not so great. In repeated visits the staff gives a way less friendly attitude. If you walk up and wait at their outdoor podium you may very well be told to stand on the other side of the tree to be helped. If you want to order take out, fidget getting the seasonal salad. I was flat out told that they do not like doing to go orders and they think it takes away from the experience. So pizza only. Ok if you don't want to do to go, don't do it but I really don't need a lecture. And not to sound harsh but that seems to be their general mode of communication. Last evening we walked over to have dinner, there was wait so I waited at the podium until someone came out. I was the only one waiting there. I was immediately told to stand and wait on the other side. Ok so I wait and how long is the wait for a table of two I ask. The reply is 20. 20 minutes? No twenty people. That really doesn't help someone know the wait. So we decided to go up the street get a couple of drinks and stop back a bit later to order a couple of to go pizzas. When we returned and waited at the correct spot the man who came out told us they were sold out on to go pizzas did we want a table. I asked if there were still pizza available for dine in and got another lecture...NO we count the dough, we have a certain and some saved for staff dinner and he went on and on... anyhow his confusing answer at first is the only reason I asked about dine in... I actually went and dined inside a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening. It was fairly slow there and I got a table inside. Service was perfunctory, but I got to hear staff complaining about having to serve a table of French people that had just arrived. Again the whole vibe is we are special, we don't really like the customer and you should feel blessed being allowed to eat out food. As I say the food is really great. the venue itself is really nice. But it really seems that the attitude of staff either comes from the top down or the owner and managers are oblivious... I really wish they could just be a little nicer cuz I do love the food and the environment, it's just not worth it to me to have the attitude

Service here is horrible, basically ruined my stress-free weekend period. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

So after living in the neighborhood for a few years I can confirm that many local folks have had similar experiences, and it's especially true if you have kids. This place just might be the unfriendliest place in The Richmond.
To begin with, there was a wait to be seated.
Not a problem in itself as this is standard at many businesses. However, what followed was poor communication, abrupt and rude service and being left to sit in the cold for forty minutes whilst other later-arriving groups 'jumped' us for a table. The male waiter in particular was short, rude and made us (and other guests we had bonded with waiting in the cold) feel like an unwelcome inconvenience. If it weren't for the lack of choice in the neighbourhood I would've gone elsewhere. The food was good, arrived warm and order right second time of service. However, was not worth the wait or the 'hype' so to speak. I would only visit here off-peak in the hope the service is better but wouldn't make a trip from San Francisco where there are plenty of other options in my respectful opinion.
