P.J. Clarke's Lincoln Square New York Reviews from The Last Year
Sumptuously fabulous!
We just finished dinner. Our waiter Matthew was superb! So kind and so helpful! The food was fresh, hot and outstanding! The cheesecake was delicious! Kirsten the manager stopped by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I just canโt say enough good things about our dinner! Thank you P. J. Clarkes! We love you!
Overall, just so so.
The staff were helpful, but the overall product disappointing. This was a pre-concert supper, so early in the evening. The restaurant was busy and pretty noisy. The Prosecco was pretty ordinary. But the whisky sours good. The fried calamari a little soggy. My salmon was overlooked and the cheesy potatoes that accompanied it were solid, but the steak looked very good. It was ok, but not what we remembered.
Have had better food in high school cafeterias
Wow has this become a horrible dirty smelly bar with mediocre food. It's such a shame. We came here before going to the New York philharmonic and have the worst culinary experience we've ever had in the neighborhood.
We enjoyed a fun time
We were enjoying a good hamburger and fish and chips in a friendly, family atmosphere. In general the experience was good, we did not find it expensive and the service was fast and very attentive.
Good for pre theatre food
This was recommended to us by a New Yorker . When we arrived we were sat in a seat against the full length glazed doors which I suspect are open in the nicer months, however in December it was really cold, I sat with my scarf on. We had shirt rib beef stew and fish and chips, both dishes were very tasty. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the drinks were reasonably priced.
Serviceable, but not really memorable
Went here for the location since we were seeing a show at Lincoln Center. I think this place has been here forever, and I expected a little more personality, but it really is sort of a jacked up Applebee's. Service was OK, but our server was slow with the drinks and often forgot her device to take our orders right after she asked what we wanted. Burgers were not cooked to order, but decent enough. It just seems really expensive for what it is, even buy NYC standards.
Dirty!
A light meal before walking across the square to the Met Opera was spoiled by the dirty environment (see photo). There was a 1/2" thick layer of dust on the fan immediately over the table, that looked as if it would fall onto our plates or ourselves. We were promptly moved to an adjacent table, but then on lookin up found that the the overhead fixture was also coated in dust, albeit less thick. The serving staff were very obliging, but gave the impression that this was not unusual. The food was tasty, but not exceptional

We arrived on a Saturday right before brunch was about to end. We were able to order housemade honey and biscuit (two) and the Clarke burgers. Our server was very attentive. She filled up our tap water and asked how everything was. It started to get packed for dinner time. Great ambiance! I would go again and try their other food.
Good food, service and it's very clean.
We were a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon and were seated in about twenty minutes
food is not that good.
crab sandwich is just ok but Reuben sandwich just horrible fat and hard meat even bite.
Very enjoyable restaurant just across from Lincoln Center.
Lots of windows in this pub style restaurant. Very good burgers and a delicious Lobster roll sandwich. Great atmosphere and friendly wait staff.

The. Burger was very good. Fries were wonderful, thin, crunchy outside and soft inside. Nice place to sit. Staff was friendly. Will definitely go back & sit by the window and people watch and delight in a delicious juicy cheeseburger.

I so glad I decided to go to this location despite the 3 star review. The staff was great and my experience was on point. I wish the burger was seasoned but that wouldn't stop me from coming again.
Food was outstanding.
Akeel who was at the oyster station made the night special with great conversation while he was working away. Burger was great, two steaks came out perfect and the oysters and clams were fresh and on point. Cocktails were also perfect and service was fast despite being busy. Highly recommend.

A very convenient or must go spot before attending any shows in Lincoln center. A Francy Diner vibe with typical red gingham tablecloth. Very yummy juice burger with skinny fries. They also have some healthy options in case not everyone wants to order burger and fries. Mocktail option for people do not want to have alcohols. Service was slow pre show hours, but if you tell your server that you will need to catch the show, they will make it happen! Reservation recommended if you want to eat before any shows.
Good food
The food is very delicious, the service is good. For my taste it is quite noisy, the place is small and the tables are too close to each other.
Excellent Food and Service!
An absolutely beautiful night here! The food was delicious. Our server Daniela could not have been better! Every staff member is helpful and very friendly. If you order dessert order just one. Itโs enough to satisfy 2 or more people.
Perfection on a plate .
An amazing restaurant, the food was exceptional and the service out of this world. Our server Nayum was so attentive and friendly we honestly think he was the best server we had during our trip in NYC , would highly recommend this place to anyone .

Stopped in to the bar Monday night, had an awesome time with the bartenders. Thank you so much P.J. Clarke's!

The bartender could not have been less interested in our experience. I ordered food and had to get up and find my own set up. I asked for one from the person who delivered the food, and they looked at me like I was crazy did not return. Will hit The Smith next time.
Delightfully close to Lincoln Center
The menu is inviting and service is swell. I loved my brussels sprouts and salad with delicious salmon. The only flaw was the noise level which made conversation difficult.
Restaurant By Met Opera
This location gives you a chance to mingle with classical music and opera lovers, performers, and crew. Just don't count on a great meal. I'd say fairly ordinary and overpriced. Maybe a drink or two at the bar would be better.
Restaurant near Lincoln Center
Food was ok but overpriced. VERY VERY loud. So loud I could barely speak to my wife. When one goes out in NY there aren't that many "quiet" places. It's New York. But this place was ridiculous. Also the kitchen messed up my wife's order. To the restaurant's credit they made up for it. Kudos to the waiter and manager for that.
