Rosemary's East New York Reviews from The Last Year
My husband & I were in the mood for some good Italian food
My husband & I were in the mood for some good Italian food & was recommended to visit this restaurant since we've never been here. We enjoyed the food & it hit the spot with every bite! The Rigatoni alla vodka is made to perfection & the whipped Burrata is so good. The atmosphere is spacious & lively which was great to be in. But we were mostly waiting for our waiter. First to take the order then to place our mains & also waited about 28 minutes for the check after asking for it a few times. We weren't in a hurry but didn't like the waiting around part. Could have been the area we were seated which was separate from the main seating area. Other than that, Everything else was great!

Service was ok, Food was expensive, poor portion size and taste was inferior. Ambiance started ok, we were seated by a cold drafty window which got crowded and headache level noise. The chairs were UN padded hard metal not suited for even an outdoor patio. My chicken Milanese was dried out, tasteless and appeared to be reheated after sitting for a day. The pasta portion was small and gloppy. Some type of salad was not as interesting tasting as was its description. The pizza while overpriced was ok. I would have returned my chicken but didn't want to embarrass the couple with us that recommended the place. Ps: prices on yelp pictures are misleading Picture shows Milanese for $15. Was actually $26.
I recently went here because there were available
I recently went here because there were available reservations, unlike the west location. The interior is extremely similar to the other location and the service was great. The rigatoni alla vodka wasn't nearly as good as I remembered it being at the other location. The pasta seemed slightly undercooked. We got the bolognese which wasn't anything memorable. The standout was easily the stinger (hot honey) pizza. We finished with the tiramisu which had the consistency of a pudding and was pretty good. Maybe it was just an off night but I greatly preferred my dinner at the west location.

Meh food, but a fun vibe! Would probably return just for drinks and apps, or to try a new pasta.

Came here for an early lunch and was immediately seated in this beautiful restaurant. They have full bar including espresso so I ordered an oat milk latte which was superb and my friend loved her freshly squeezed OJ. I had to order the vodka rigatoni which was the star of the show but the everything bagel with lox pizza was not only unique but also really delicious with fresh salmon and just the perfect amount of capers and whipped cream cheese topping. For dessert we got the bombolinis which came with a whipped chocolate cream (I wish it was lemon) but it was still delicious nonetheless. I will be dreaming about that pasta and will be coming back for it!
Perfect for big groups
The only reason why this went from 5 to 4 stars was the hostess: she was unfriendly (barely even acknowledged us when we entered) and would not seat us until the third person was there. Besides that, things went uphill once we were seated. Both waitresses were refreshingly friendly and attentive. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced for NYC. Would return.
We loved our dinner at Rosemary's last night! Our server
We loved our dinner at Rosemary's last night! Our server was so nice and attentive - one of the best waitresses that I'd had in a while. I can't remember her name but she had awesome curly hair. She ruled! The food was SO good! We loved the margarita pizza, the pastas, the burrata, the focaccia and the mushrooms. Not a single bad dish. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

I was very impressed with this restaurant! It has a beautiful, warm, inviting ambience as soon as you walk into the restaurant. My friends and I came here for pizza, pasta, and cocktails. I am usually not a fan of aperol spritz, but it was delicious and beautiful. The pastas were perfectly cooked, the sauces were not heavy, and the pizza was solid. We ordered the rigatone alla vodka, linguine con gamberi, and the cacio e pepe pizza. I would recommend all of these, but with how good everything was I'm sure you won't go wrong with whatever you choose. The staff was very friendly and I would definitely come here again.
It was a cold and dreary night but me and my significant
It was a cold and dreary night but me and my significant other wanted to have a nice date night on a Saturday evening. Throughout the night we people watched and recounted the endless tales of vanderpump rules. Service was wonderful and entertaining as we listened in on conversations at the bar. Heads up, nothing is labeled correctly but I'm using some key words that you'll find on the menu. We started off with some cocktails. All of them were strong but still good I thought. My SO drank hers a bit slower than me. She's about half my size and I'm a 220lb male and she was feeling effects about half her drink in. I drank two glasses and felt happy with my order. Everything was about equal in quality here. First, ordered the winter salad and calamari. Winter salad was a tasty starter but a bit dry. We ordered more of the dressing which turned out to be a turmeric vinaigrette. Delicious dressing and a top notch starter w the extra stuff. The calamari was good but the sauce was too heavy/ rich we found. We ended up dipping the calamari in the turmeric vinaigrette which we found to be more acidic, light, and complementary. We were feeling pasta tonight. My SO's choice was the vodka pasta. Pretty much capped out what a vodka sauce is capable of tasting like. The noodles had the perfect bite in my book. I prefer my pasta al dente. My SO not as much. She still enjoyed the meal. I chose the verde pasta. Delicious hen of the woods mushrooms as well as portabellas. Kind of an exotic mushroom in the restaurant industry. There was a base of chimichurri as well. We definitely preferred the vodka pasta to the verde because of the vodkas greater intensity and richness as well as the noodles. The noodles were sort of like slippery/ flat dumpling (if you're from the mid-Atlantic). As nostalgic as they are, I might've preferred something else for this sauce which was also simply not as flavorful. However, this pasta was a good contrast to the vodka pasta. Still pretty happy with it. We finished off with the tiramisu and una tazita which were both pretty satisfying treats to end the night. I might've preferred more cake and less whipped cream in the tiramisu but it was still satisfying for its purpose.
My first time here, and it will be my last.
Although the restaurant was pretty and the food was OK, the service was strange to say the least, and lackluster at worst. We asked to change tables since we were sitting in a drafty spot. The waiter, Christopher L. (name on receipt) was surprised that we asked him to help us move our cocktails over. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO ASK. Another member of the waitstaff decorously gave us fresh water and glasses in a very pleasant manner. I wished she had been taking care of us, as she effortlessly pulled off what might have been an awkward maneuvre. Another passing waiter carrying a bread basket kindly asked us if we would like anything, and I asked if we might have some bread. He very nicely told us that bread is not served unless requested. So much for the gracious experience of pre-pandemic days. Someone else (manager?) very courteously brought us a complimentary foccaccia. The appetizer and mains were each served by different people. This was strange to me, but maybe this is the way things are done now? Something about this felt disjointed and confusing. No one took away my empty drink glass; no one asked us if we wanted another round (which I actually wanted); no one came over to ask us how our food was. A menu suggestion, since I unknowingly ordered badly: a big melty lump of burrata cheese is NOT an appropriate topping for a Margherita pizza. Stop being trendy and go with tried-and-true good ole mozzarella. One last thing: my 2 leftover slices were smashed and squooshed, face-to-face, into a too-small leftovers container. HOW HARD IS IT TO HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE?! EDIT: They actually had the nerve to text me the next morning thanking me for dining there. I should NOT have to provide my phone number in order to give you my money; my mistake for not saying NO to having my personal information in their corporate database.
Wanted to have dinner with my girlfriends so we made
Wanted to have dinner with my girlfriends so we made reservations for 8:45PM on a Friday night. Wow it was packed! So glad we had this booked, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten a table. The ambiance is lovely and everything was well lit. It was a bit on the louder side and we could easily hear conversations happening around us. We were greeted after around 5 minutes. I don't blame him because it was so crowded. We started off with a bottle of wine and a mocktail for myself. I wasn't the biggest fan of this, but that's okay. We ordered a few apps: the meatballs, Brussel sprouts, bruschetta, and calamari. I loved everything but the meatballs, they tasted similar to dumpling filling in a way, I think because of the pork. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't get this again. I ordered the bolognese for myself. I thought this was delicious and filling! The pasta noodles tasted fresh and had a nice texture to it. My friends also loved their dishes as well as they ordered the rigatoni. We wanted to order dessert, but the server brought our check out as the restaurant was closing. Maybe another time if I'm back in the area!
Wedding dinner for 12!
We visited Rosemarys for our wedding dinner on the day of our micro-wedding in the city. Originally we had planned to eat in another restaurant and as the wedding party grew in number, that particular restaurant became greedy with menus and prices and deposits! So with one month to go I had to find a new restaurant worthy of being ‘the’ meal and also within reasonable distance of the rooftop bar we’d booked. Rosemarys east did not disappoint. I could easily book a table for 12 people online, I was in contact with them about moving the time and it was done with no fuss and with such a friendly and fast response. Upon arrival we had drinks in the bar and then we were seated for our meal in the centre of the restaurant. We absolutely loved it - the food and drinks were delicious. Focaccia was 👌🏻. There was a slight mix up with some starters but that issue was quickly rectified with no fuss. The portions were very generous and we were very pleased with the meal. All staff were really friendly too. We’ll be returning to a Rosemarys when we next visit NYC. 🍝 Thanks for helping to make our day truly awesome!! Thanks again guys!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
