I tried to find a hotel in Las Vegas near the stirp with free parking, no resort fee and, available during my trip. With the rodeo and ASHP in town, it was next to impossible. Trying to limit fees, I ended up here and was happy with my stay. Pro:It is not a huge casino compared to other casinos on the strip. The Sahara has almost everything you need in a Vegas casino. Gambling, places to eat, and bar all in a small compact setting. Free parking. It is relatively easy to enter the parking structure northbound along Las Vegas Blvd. An alternate entrance is behind the casino on Paradise Road sort of under the monorail station. Also, the distance from the parking structure to the check-in desk is not very far. Fortunately, my room overlooked the parking garage and I could visually check my car every day.Nice room. I paid the fee to upgrade to a remodeled room and it was a very nice room. It was very spacious with a large comfortable king bed. Outlets and USB ports are available on both sides of the bed and on the table if you need to do work. The table is very long with a lot of drawers. A big mirror is located next the bed with background lighting. Bathroom is spacious. The shower is big with great pressure. It has a rain shower-head and shower wand.It is walking distance to the Arts Districts which has local restaurants, coffee shops, and microbreweries. It is an easy walk several blocks pass The Strat. I felt safe walking during the day. Not sure how I would feel at night walking back. It is closer than walking to Resorts World.Easy access to the Las Vegas Monorail. From the lobby, it is very easy to access the monorail with the entrance near the lobby bar. It might be faster to walk from the lobby to the monorail station than to the front of the casino on Las Vegas Blvd. If you plan to ride it at least 2 times a day and will be in town for more than 24 hours, I recommend an electronic multiday pass. It is cheaper than an Uber or Lyft going up and down the strip.Con:The north end of the strip is not the most popular end and is far away from many of the popular things to do and see. Highly recommend getting the multiday monorail pass if you are in town for more than 24 hours and plan on visiting different sights along the strip. The entrance to the monorail station is very easy to access from the lobby near the bar and Starbucks. It is a short walk up the escalator and across the skybridge. The Fees. All the hotels have fees now these days for parking, pool, and wi-fi. Sahara has an app for checking in. I thought a sign in the lobby in fine print stated a fee to check in on the app. Overall, I had a good stay here and definitely would stay here again.
