Sala Thai New York Reviews from The Last Year
Thai food is excellent.
Very tasty. We reserved a table to celebrate nearby Columbia University Class Day 2024. Many of the tables were filled with Columbia families likewise celebrating

Been looking for good thai in NYC and this place delivers!! I've had the green curry and the pad kea mow and both were soo delicious. Spicy in the best way. There's always a line for this place so make a reservation!
Food was delicious, and I loved that they offered
Food was delicious, and I loved that they offered traditional Thai cuisine. I got to try dishes I've never heard of.
Went on a Sunday evening with some friends.
Tasty food and loved all the seasonal specials!! Classic Thai dishes you expect with some more unique dishes (we tried the taro puff appetizer). Good cocktails, great vibe inside. A bit loud but the inside is pretty big and they can seat a lot of people.
I've been here twice now and the first time I got a pad
I've been here twice now and the first time I got a pad Thai and Tom Yum soup which was pretty good. My most recent visit was with a girlfriend in which we had a reservation. Reservations aren't hard to get but the restaurant does get quite buzzy during dinner rush hour. My girlfriend and I shared the following: - Gai Hor Bai Touy - this is basically ground chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. It was fine, good to try but wouldn't be rushing to order this again. - Taro Samosas - this was the better app and it was still crispy and warm when they brought it out - Pad Sew Ew - I felt their version was too sweet so not favorite in the city - Green Curry - I generally love green curry but did find theirs a bit ... sadly bland. Service is friendly and fast. I would be back if I'm in the area but definitely isn't a place I'll go out of the way for. It's definitely a nice restaurant to catch up with friends and has a nice atmosphere inside. They also have outdoor seating.
Best restaurant Amazing, friendly, professional hostess
Best restaurant Amazing, friendly, professional hostess that understands walk ins customers and never lose the business. Food was amazing Highly recommend
Got the Pad Thai, super yummy.
I added chicken to my order, and there wasn't a ton in there. Other than that, quick service and reliable.
The food was very good, enjoyed everything we ordered.
No complaints regarding the service.
Step into a dazzling Siam setting right here on the Upper
Step into a dazzling Siam setting right here on the Upper West Side! Whether you're a Thai cuisine enthusiast or new to the flavors of Thailand, Sala Thai is your go-to neighborhood spot for an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant boasts a captivating interior with a welcoming bar up front and a charming dining room upstairs. Adorned with gold light fixtures, comfortable leather chairs, and vibrant murals on the walls, every corner exudes warmth and elegance. Sala Thai offers a perfect blend of ambiance and cuisine for a relaxed yet delightful evening. We tried the lemongrass chicken, it was a nice presentation and the chicken is so flavorful. The Chilean Sea Bass in Aromatic Coconut Milk is also very good. A divine creation of pan-roasted sea bass, bunashimeji mushrooms, and asparagus served with a luscious coconut bisque. I was also blown away by golden puff, It was perfectly seasoned, this spot offers a perfect blend of ambience and cuisine for a relaxed yet delightful evening. Featured - Prawn Papaya Salad - Crepe Dumpling - Kang Kao Peuak - Gai yang - Chilean Sea Bass - Golden Puff - Kao Tom mud - Mango sunrise - Bluefly Lemonade
every single time that I've ordered takeou, they've sent me
every single time that I've ordered takeou, they've sent me the wrong food. every single time. I won't ever order food from here again.
Hidden gem in the Upper West Side
Sala Thai has consistently been the best Thai restaurant in Manhattan for me for the past 4 years. They recently expanded their seating as well which has been so nice given it's a tad easier to get a table (but still advise booking several days in advance!) Their Kee Mao is the best I've ever had, especially with the pork. They are serious about flavor and spice - medium spicy can be hot for the uninitiated!
Decent Thai restaurant in Upper West side
I enjoyed the food overall. Nothing was outstanding in particular. We ordered the Penang curry with tofu which was over fried. The ginger pork dish was very tasty. I didnโt particularly care for the chicken salad. The pad Thai was standard. Service was decent. You have to make a reservation as the place is pretty busy.
Delicious, highly recommend.
Delicious! The lunch special was so good. Soup, dumplings and then a main course. Service was top notch by Jane. Busy popular place. Will definitely be back!
