We really had a nice time at Spago's.
The ambiance of the restaurant, the staff and food is excellent. If you want to splurge on a fabulous evening, definitely make a reservation at Spago.
Spago was terrific. Many restaurants have great food but Spago has also amazing management. It was such a pleasure to meet Derrin Abac. He is not only a superb general manager (you can feel this at every level including the kitchen and the servers) but an incredible expert on wines. He helped guide us through than the various selections and it and it was a terrific bonus. He is a high level sommelier and it really shows. We will be going back soon.

I had been to Spago in LA a few years back but this experience blew that one out of the water. I am a Wolfgang Puck loyalist so when I saw he had a restaurant in Maui there was no question that was where I'd be spending my 29th birthday. Located within the Four Seasons, it has views from every seat that overlook the water making for a simply a beautiful view amongst great food. I'll start with service - it was absolutely stellar. With COVID, I've done my best to give restaurants a lot of grace as they are likely working understaffed but this couldn't have been more different than the new normal we've been experiencing. All our servers were super attentive and eager to talk us through all our questions. Our waters were never empty and we were steered to get the perfect meal. For our app we got the bolognese. I was super against this because we eat so much pasta living in Little Italy and I wanted seafood being by the water but our waitress insisted we try it and WOW. The best bolognese we've had since we moved to the west coast in November. The noodle was paper thin and the meat was made from wagyu beef. With good quality products to start, you just really can't go wrong. They also split the dish for us so that we each had a personal plate and we weren't having to fight for bites. The little things really make a difference. For our entrees we went with the salmon and curry. Once again so good and so fresh. I was really into the lobster bisque lisauce that the salmon was floating in and loved that the curry was playful with the three chutneys allowing each bite to be a little different. We finished with the special chocolate caramel torte served with coconut ice cream - this item HAS to be added to the menu. It might have been our best bite all night which is really saying a lot.

The ambiance was heavenly, but I got food poisoning from my dinner. I appreciate they respected my request for a "table with a view" and gave me the best table in the house. However, I got food poisoning from the Seared Rare Ahi Tuna. For that reason, I regret going here. Please do not spend $150/person to get food poisoning.

We recently went to Spago as part of our 30th Anniversary celebration. The food was good, but not really up to what you'd expect from a Wolfgang Puck establishment. The server was attentive, but not as helpful as we experienced at a couple of other spots. The tomato basil soup was actually the highlight of the night.

Amazing meal! Stayed at the Four Seasons and went twice for dinner. We had a late reservation the first night after sunset and requested outdoor seating. They offer an amazing kamaaina discount that you must take advantage of if you are local. We decided on the lobster and New York steak to share. While we were waiting, we were offered bread and butter to start - Maui onion focaccia and French bread. The focaccia is to die for! It's impossible to stop eating...or we were just hungry! Service was a bit slow and we had to wait a bit for the entrees to come. We didn't get any appetizers so complementary bread and refills were appreciated. The lobster is nicely served as they remove the meat from the shell so you don't have to do any work. It comes with jasmine rice and is topped with a bit of peppers for spice, shoyu, and some steamed veggies. So yummy and had a nice amount of meat! The steak was very tender and cooked to perfection. The portions are very generous and it was enough to fill us up for the meal. We told them we were celebrating a birthday and they gave us free birthday cookies to celebrate to end the meal. The cookies are also SO good! We were too stuffed to eat it at the table, but enjoyed it back in our room. The day after, we decided to dine there again as their discount is very generous. We were on a bit of a time crunch as our flight was that day and service was slow at the bar. We ordered the chicken and pork chop entrees - it took about 50 minutes for the food to come. I would have been okay if we didn't have a flight to catch so this is my only feedback on things to improve on. We were offered bread while we were waiting and that focaccia is definitely something worth coming for too! Finally our food arrived - the chicken was juicy and tender and came on a bed of mashed potatoes. I loved this dish. Again, the portions are very very generous and worth the price. The pork chops were also tender and came with a sweet potato mash. This dish is a bit on the sweeter side as it's topped with papaya sauce as well. I preferred the chicken but the pork chop was very well cooked and executed too - just a little too sweet for my liking.I would highly recommend dining here if you're in Maui for a nice dinner. Prices are on the higher side, but the view from outside is great and the food is excellent. Can't wait to dine here again.
.. food was ok. Dinner at Duo downstairs is better. Truffles were not very fragrant. Ahi cones had too much sauce and too many flavors going on. Eggplant side was good but huge, do not expect your server to let you know that you are ordering too much. Pasta could use a little salt as well, I would recommend that the chefs taste the food coming out of the kitchen. Our group ordered 3 orders of beet salads, the ahi tuna poke cones, 2 sides of the eggplant, a seafood risotto, the seafood curry, and 4 1/2 orders of the black truffled housemade pasta ... entirely too much food. I also blame myself for ordering too much, just wish that I was informed that the eggplant was served family style, the poke had a lot of sauce and other ingredients, the beet salad was also served family style, and 1 order of the pasta was filling enough for 1 adult.
This might have been the best birthday dinner of my life! We had a beautiful table outside overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed a fabulous meal, sunset, whales and a crescent moon! Our waiter Peter was awesome! What a wonderful night! Thank you!
😍
This is my third Spago treat.
Beverly Hulls, Las Vegas and now Maui. Absolutely wonderful. I had the salmon and my husband the NY strip. We started with the ahi tuna poke cones which are a party in your mouth! We each had a desert..mine the "birds nest" of crispy something with Ice cream and a warm cookie...melted in my mouth! A true experience and another Spago did not disappoint!!
🤮
Worst Fine Dining Experince EVER!
Horrible service, staff, and food. We even had to pre-pay for Valentine's Day Dinner. Not worth it! This was the worst fine dining experience we have ever had. It took over a 1/2 hour to get our drinks. Water was not re-filled and the waiter even forgot our appetizers. By the time we got our main course, we were parched and starving. The portions were so small a mouse would starve. Extremely disappointed to say the least. And the fact we had to pre-pay for this crappy experience makes it even worse.
😒
Disappointed to have to leave this review.
I am a fan of Spago and have dined here multiple times and more than I can count at Spago Las Vegas. This time here was sub par. On the plus side, the bread was good, and the black truffle pasta excellent. The wine list was lacking at least on whites. Had macadamia mahi mahi which was overdone but tasted fine, but on a bed of overly sweet off putting purple yam base. Wiener schnitzel ok- but poor execution of cuke side (dry and not flavorful) and beets. Desert menu not enticing. Again, no comparison to Spago LV on food, although service was just fine. Won't return this year. Maybe next.

We got a great table at the front part of the terrace overlooking the sea, the sunset and open view of plenty of whales breaching.
Service was really good.
Best part of the meal was the ahi tuna cones as appetizer. The seared rare ahi and the macadamia crusted mahi mahi were tasty, but we had better during our 2 weeks in Hawaii.
Kids meal was $15, pretty good for a high end restaurant.
Desserts were delicious, particularly the basque cheesecake that looked and tasted like the traditional cheesecake from San Sebastián.
Extensive wine list.
Overall expensive, bot sure if worth it.

Really looking forward to Wolfgang Puck’s signature restaurant in Wailea. Complete letdown.
Wine was stale.
Both entrees were luke warm.
Music was borderline distracting and not Hawaiian
Skipped dessert so we could make a fast escape.
Service was amazing.. I suspect largely due to the Four Seasons hotel
Consider Roy Yamaguchi‘s Humble Kitchin at the Marriott as an alternative.
This was our favorite meal while staying in the Wailea area. Beautiful property & amazing meal. The Ahi Tuna cones were phenomenal. I ordered the pineapple coconut red curry with prawns and it was absolutely perfect.
😍
Had the most beautiful Valentine's Day dinner here.
I was a little hesitant about a set course meal but everything was superb. The dishes itself were perfect proportions and beautifully presented. Servers were all so kind and knowledgeable and explained every dish passionately! I love their wine selections, I now found my new fave Cabernet. My date and I both agreed this was the best and most memorable dinners we've had. They also seated us with the most breathtaking view and had the chance to watch the sunset. I couldn't ask for a more perfect dining experience than here in Spago Maui. Can't wait to come back.
😍

What a fantastic experience! Everything was completely delicious and perfectly seasoned and portioned. we ordered the Butterfish on top of crispy rice, the green salad, the chicken, and the mahi mahi. Also, a side of the glazed eggplant. For dessert we got the sorbet/ ice cream and cookies to take home. I am already searching for a time to return-it was such a delight.I honestly don't have photos of the food it was so good!

Any dining or hotel stay at Four Seasons is at an exceptional standard. The restaurant service and attention to detail beginning from the receptionist to the wait staff was dreamy. As you walk to your table, the friendly staff greet you until you're seated, and later receive a sneak peak into their daily fresh menu and popular dish recommendations. Every item was finely cooked with flavors bursting in your mouth. The wagu pasta was so comforting and they split it at no additional charge. We had a view of the ocean and the sound of water fountain. Every penny spent here is worth it!

My friend surprised me and took me for dinner here for my birthday here while staying in Wailea at the Marriott When we arrived we were asked to wait just a few minutes. We were seated and our servers Andy and Tim were amazing. This was by far the best service in any restaurant we have ever had. Attentive and extremely knowledgeable. Andy explained the menu thoroughly. The food was excellent, We shared a pasta wagyu bolognas as an appetizer and order a Tomahawk steak as a main ( 3 pounds good for two) . The wine recommended by Andy was so tasty ( Napa cabernet sauvignon) . And foe the best part was the dessert chocolate souffle sweets with coffee . We enjoyed enjoyed all of them . Everything was fresh and delicious.
Enjoyed our dinner here; ate at the bar. Bartender was fun and shared good stories. Full menu was offered at the bar.

We visited Spago after having used the restaurant for our rehearsal dinner several years prior. Oh what a change!! The service was absolutely terrible. We felt the waiter almost completely ignored us during our meal. I had to “flag” him down for each glass of wine or for any service we needed. At one point he actually just walked past our table and almost purposely ignored us. However, the food was sufficient but not spectacular. To top off our meal upon exiting the outside portion of the restaurant we had to (and I am not exaggerating) walk around some type of pointy nose hound possibly a Borzoi that was laying in the middle of the aisle of the restaurant. The dog, however, had a bowl of water that had sloshed on the floor. I bet he did not have to ask twice for his Barolo to be refilled. I absolutely hate we used this as the venue for our special wedding ceremony. We will never return and encourage you to do the same.

Impressive experience from start to finish! So good, I went back during my stay

I’m not new to spectacular foodie experiences throughout the world, and admittedly I’m very hard to please when it comes to cuisine because of so. Spago’s Maui impressed me! Starting with the accommodating friendly service, impressive presentation of the delicious food, and that unbeatable view - from the appetizers to the dessert… all nailed it. When you’re in Maui, Spago’s in the Four Season’s is a must. Whether you choose to bar dine or take a table overlooking the ocean you can’t go wrong with either.
My suggestions 👇🏻
🍣 Tuna Poke Cones
🐠 Japanese Hamachi
🍍 Pineapple Coconut Curry (show stopping perfect)
🐔 Pan Roasted Chicken (trust me on this one, never would I reco ordering 🐔 at a seafood restaurant, this will be the BEST you’ve ever had)
🐟 Smoked Marlin, heart of palm on a garbanzo purée, a gift from Spago’s visiting chef was a work of art
🥖 Maui Onion Focaccia with Hawaiian salted butter is worth the carbs and gluten!
🧁 German Chocolate Soufflé was everything you’d expect and more
The meal was so good I choose to revisit at a bar dine before catching my late flight.
Yes I’m been to Mama’s, yes I’ve been to just about every other food truck to Michelin stars in Paris and beyond, this place is not to be missed. Mahalo you chef(s)

The food, view, and service were all deserving of 5 stars, but let's talk about the food! You know there speciality is seafood, and for good reason, it's some of the best quality you'll find in the world and I'll share with you my favorites. What you may miss is the most underrated dish there...* Pan Roasted Puna Chicken, and I would have also if it wouldn't have been for the bartender telling me about it. I was told there put goat cheese and butter under the skin, right then I went against my gut and decided chicken at a seafood specialty restaurant. WOW! This should be the only way chicken is ever made from now on.* You'll see may people talk about the Bigeye Poke cones, order that, the reviews are right, it's amazing. Note, I asked to remove the tobiko.* Japanese Hamachi is exactly what you'll hope for and more.* One of my favorite dishes is coconut curry anything, and Chef Peleg Miron created a perfectly seasoned, balanced and prepared Pineapple Coconut Red Curry seafood dish which is now now is my favorite way to enjoy curry.Start A little bonus was a gift from visiting Spago's corporate executive chef Tetsu Yahagi...* Smoked Marlin, heart of palm on a garbanzo purée. Incredible! Wish that was on the regular menu! * Another don't miss is the crispy Maui Onion focaccia with Hawaiian salted butter. It's worth all the carbs.* They even included a work of art surprise dessert from Spago's corporate executive pastry Chef Kamel Guachida of a large chocolate macaron and candle to make my birthday wish. Which is sure to come true after this experience! Our table was perfectly placed with a view of the ocean, perfectly! On my last day I decided to have a quick bite at the bar, the poke and hamachi and Chef Miron brought me their soufflé of the day...* German Chocolate, hmm WOW. My long flight home to the 9th island was filled with sweet good memories.

Lynn, Areg (exec Sous chef from LA), and Tetsu Yahagi (corp chef) made our dining experience amazing last night. We had a tasting menu with a wine/cocktail pairing. Everything was amazing from the specially made local fish dish by Tetsu the wagyu entree and the amazing macaroon chocolate banana dessert paired with a twist on an old fashion. Lynn did a fantastic job explaining the pairings and was very knowledgeable about each wine. We have enjoyed tasting menus from a number highly rated restaurants and our experience at Spago is right up there with the best of them! Lynn, Tetsu and Areg made a point to make our meal special and it really showed.

ONE OF THE BEST MEALS WE EVER HAD ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
We were a party of five with reservations. We have eaten at other Spago restaurants in the past, but nothing compares to the meal we had here. The smoked Octopus was the best I have ever had as well as the Lobster Ceviche. Everyone else's food was superb as well and the deserts were out of this world. Incredible service with knowledgeable well trained staff. See attached pitures.
