Amazing vegan Chinese food!
Great vegan Chinese food! The mapo tofu, kung pao style tofu and the bun with fried mushroom was amazing. The bao with โchickenโ was a bit bland. The food came really quickly. The cocktails were great (just a bit smallish, but most NY restaurants give small cocktails). The music is quite loud and the lights are dimmed, but thatโs part of the atmosphere I guess. The service was really good, the staff is very attentive and kind. So we had a great night.
Be the first to Replyunpleasant food, and worse service
I'd like to save others from wasting their money and time here. From the moment we walked in to the restaurant, with uncomfortably loud music blaring, they immediately told us how quickly we had to leave. They assured us the food came very quickly, and indeed it did, within minutes. Unfortunately our drinks only arrived as we were finishing the food, so I only wound up drinking about 1/4 of mine since I was done with the meal. They were grabbing dishes away the moment we took the last bite and we were out less than 30 minutes after arriving, leaving us with an unexpected hour to wander around in the cold before the play we were attending. The dan dan noodles tasted great at first, but after a few bites the amount of salt was absolutely overwhelming and I couldn't eat any more. The crispy eggplant tasted only of oil, and the steamed dumplings were disappointingly bland. I ate just a few bites of each and left hungry, which seemed better than eating the food. It was pretty expensive, and I was extremely sorry to have spent my money there. I wouldn't consider going again.

We thought the food was somewhat tasty, but it was heavily saturated in grease. I felt some of the dishes were overpriced for the amount you received. Especially the vegan duck wrap. $16.95 for two bites in my opinion is extortionate. I didnโt decide to leave a tip as the service was extremely poor. The waiter did a check back at the end which is too late. We felt very rushed and the waiter stormed off when we decided not to tip. For this reason I would not return or recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Vegan Sichuan Restarant in the West Village
The Spicy Moon is an excellent vegan Sichuan restaurant in the West Village. We started off with Vegan Duck Wraps and then had Salt & Pepper Style Tofu and Vegetable Fried Rice. The meal was excellent, We arrived hungry and left full.
Be the first to ReplyMust try Mochi!
Do not leave without eating one of their mochi! so delicious and the best mochi I've ever eaten witha. very thin coating. Everything we ordered was delicious: scallion pancakes, eggrolls, low mein, steamed pork buns and more. So happy to find thia vegan gem. I look forward to going back and trying more menu items. the 4 star is really due to service. it wasn't terrible but it could have been better. it was over 90 degrees out. and we drank all our water before the food arrived. our server walked by several times, never aksed if we needed anything and we waiting so long for a water refill that my daughter grabbed one from the bar area. someone else brought out all the food. They grabbed the empty eggroll plate so quick we didnt get to use the yumyum sauce for our eggrolls that we each placed on our main plate!
Be the first to ReplyQuick, quirky and tasty
Love Szechuan food and Iโm vegan soโฆ our food came out quickly and was very tasty and good value. Particularly enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, dry pot and noodles. Would definitely recommend and return. Deep fried tofu instead of silken would have upped this to 5/5

Amazing food. Favorites include the Zen Cold Sesame Noodle and Mapo Tofu with Beyond Beef. The Cabbage with Dry Peppers and Sichuan Shredded Potato were also tasty and made eating veggies fun. Nice environment, food served quickly.
