We had seen excellent reviews for The Cookery for a couple of years. It has a 4.8 rating in Open Table and a Michelin “rating.”We went with high expectations. Th octopus appetizer was perfect. The wine was average, but overpriced. The main courses were an extreme disappointment. The Branzino was ok, but fairly tasteless, nothing special. It was accompanied by cold, overcooked, tasteless chopped broccoli rob, which was presented on top of the Bronzino, which naturally got cooled and arrived room temperature to the table. The Bronzino lay atop an unknown creamy starch, also tasteless and cool. The Pork Osso Bucco , on a plate too small, sat on a bland polenta with a dollop of vinegar infused apple sauce that ran into the runny polenta. The atmosphere did not make for a pleasant meal. It is a pub-like ambience, with blaring music. All in all, if you decide to try The Cookery, our recommendation is stick to a drink and an appetizer.
