Went as a belated Christmas present to Ivy Asia St Paul’s. Service was a little slow, especially for drinks, however it did not have too much impact on the overall experience. Food was lovely and generous portions for the price - sushi and large plates were a stand out. Overall, not nearly as expensive as we expected and would certainly visit again
🤮
Lovely food. Rude staff!
Food was delicious and we aren’t people to complain but the service was awful!! I was taking my partner out for his birthday meal and I’m 8 months pregnant so we ran exactly 15 minutes behind and I did call the restaurant to let them know, never mind having to wait a bit once entering the restaurant. They had told us they gave away the table after being 16 minutes late and only have a chefs table available but being heavily pregnant this just wouldn’t work. The front of house staff were so unaccommodating and rude, when we walked upstairs plenty of tables were available and we were seated on a regular table for two. Our waiter was extremely rude from the get go, just by his general attitude and when it came to paying which I was reluctant to do to be honest because of how bad the service was, the waiter took the receipt and scrunched it into a ball and threw it on the table (?!!) we won’t be back for a special meal anytime soon, especially as it was the last meal as a two for us. I’ve been to a few nice restaurants in my time and will be choosing to avoid the Ivy Asia moving forward. The staff think their something special when they are just simply rude…
🤮
Came for my anniversary and can’t even talk to my boy

No the music is so loud I can’t even talk to my partner, they are “wanna be posh” but in reality they are not and the music is sooooo annoying, came to celebrate my anniversary but can’t almost talk to my partner it is hugely annoying, I really wish that changed as it is an alright place.
😍
As Asian as it gets. Loud, bright, delicious food and inclusive for couples, friends and large gatherings.

Visited for a business dinner and had the opportunity to try nearly every item on the menu and the group consensus on best dishes were: crispy duck, pork belly, wagyu steak and dynamite shrimps among the starters and the clay pot and aubergine dishes were fabulous options among the vegetarian main courses. The aubergine main course is honestly a must have. Never had anything like it before. Overall the ambience is amazing. Incredible sound and light. Service is quick and food delicious.
🤮
Service is terrible and dishonest.

I never wrote a review before. But this restaurant make me sick. We came to London to get our visa to China, and just walked by this restaurant near St Paul's. We asked if there is a table for two. The front desk waiter looked us with casual but still smart dresses, thinking we were not worth for them to take in and gave us a table for 1 hour later ,and asked us to wait downstair without any sittings . We asked if we can wait at the bar. The waiter tried to call upstairs , but no answer, so he has to let us go upstairs. When we went to the bar, which was empty and got two drinks, we saw there were still plenty of table empty. So we asked if we can have a table. The waitress upstair gave us a table immediatly. So obviously the downstair waiter just wanted to put off us for an hour waiting to let us go. To be honest, the food is OK, but much more display than the taste. the restaurant is selling the location and decor, but lack the spirit of service and taste, which the restaurant is all about.
Came to Ivy Asia to celebrate Valentines Day with my love. We had an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we entered we felt like royalty. What a beautiful decor!! 😍 Not to mention the exceptional service and food. Thank you Ivy! We were not disappointed.
😍
Beautiful and unforgettable
Such a beautiful restaurant and the food is truly amazing. Such a memorable experience, so much so, it will be our 'go to' restaurant' when visiting Manchester. Cannot wait to return
😍
Excellent food, amazing decor.

We visited here for a birthday celebration and was wowed by the inside decor. We sat by the window that overlooked St Pauls. We shared a number of plates which were all delicious and fresh. I can’t wait to visit again and try more from the menu.
just want to say i was enjoying my mother’s day much until a fellow customer dressed like most hideous green outfit moane because i took too long in the toilet seriously i was 3 minute max thank u for u runing my day !!!
😍
Wonderful food and cocktails
I visited with a friend on a Friday evening after work. What a great evening! Stunning decor, imaginative cocktails, and mist importantly delicious food. We had a selection of dishes which were all tasty and well presented. I will definitely visit again.
😍
Upscale and trendy 5 stars
High end, very cool place. Had to make reservations weeks in advance but worth it! The food, drinks, and vibes were outstanding. Upscale Asian cusine but very approachable for a novice in Asian food.
Business lunch for 20 people in a private room. Great service but everyone commented the food was average. Real shame….
Everything was amazing. Whole experience, food, service and drinks on point. Thanks so much Ivy. We will be back.
Lots of theatre , electric atmosphere , fab service , delicious food , duck curry was amazing , check out the floor ! a must visit Tq
🙂
Delicious food & good service … dodgy stomach
I must admit, the food was lovely. And service was great. The waiter was very attentive and helped us to understand the menu and recommended some Greta dishes to us. Our visit was relatively faultless, but I was quite ill the day night and day following our visit, and a family member I visited with was also unwell. Dodgy stomach, plenty of toilet trips.. if you know what I mean. The food was spicy, so I cannot be sure it wasn’t just an after effect of that, however the third member of our party didn’t eat the pork char siu (which myself and the other party member who became unwell did) and she did not have any issues. Therefore I feel the pork, despite being delicious, might not be a great choice for those who are prone to a dodgy tummy or anything of that sort. I wouldn’t let this put you off the venue as everything else was up so scratch and exceeded our expectations, however I would just remember that due to the fact it is Asian food (much of which is spicy), you might be spending a few hours of your evening nursing a dodgy tummy if your susceptible that…🤣 Defo give this place a go if you like fusion food, good views, great service & new experiences. For those trying to budget or who have evening plans… I would not recommend… your evening might be best sat with a hot water bottle and some water (salty food!)
🙂
Superb food - service needs improvement
When we arrived, they seated us next to the DJ booth where the music was way too loud. We asked to be moved. They told us to return to the bar and wait for 15 minutes for another table to become available. That’s fine. We asked if we could put in our order to save time, but they said we cannot order until we are seated. That seemed a bit strange. Food was truly excellent. Delicious with delicate flavours. The decor was interesting and I personally like the sensory overload. The problem in the restaraunt was the service. They seemed to be short of staff as we could never find a server when we wanted one. Also the staff were not well trained in understanding the differences in the Sake’s. This is a Japanese restaraunt with an extensive Sake list. The waiter got the order wrong and brought us the wrong sake with a similar sounding name. Even to pay the bill took forever. It would be a shame for the restaraunt to lose customers due to poor service.
This review refers to Ivy Asia St Paul’s The food was its normal high standard and the service was prompt. But checking in was oh so slow and the tables are just too close together. As a result it was too noisy to have any decent conversation. A shame really. Could easily be awesome but it’s simply too busy and too noisy.
😒
Good but turn down the music!
Decided to try this place out and have some observations. The decor is out of this world. Especially at night time. The floor do light up and what an entrance The music is however way too loud and therefore you can’t have a decent conversation or quite frankly any conversation at all. Madness The view is superb as St Paul’s was all lit up. The food is a fusion of Japanese and therefore sushi and sashimi galore. Extremely fresh and very very good. Lots of options to choose from the menu. It is definitely an experience but not sure if ever return due to the noise
Amazing experience. Service was amazing. We were late and felt awful and they made us feel so relaxed and not stressed. Fares was the best server!!!!! Literally every request was no problem!
🤮
A disappointing experience!
At the Ivy Asia Mayfair - We (3 of us) were seated at a tiny table, which might just be ok for two people, but not for three people. Especially, as the food was served in a multitude of plates and bowls and buckets for condiments and the table was covered in wine glasses, water glasses, a water bottle, chop stick stands, soy sauce bowls and large cocktails. It was ridiculously impossible to find enough room for everything and to eat comfortably. We were told that food would arrive as it was ready, however, this doesn't work when you advertise on your menu items under main dishes and side dishes. We received our main dishes and then had to chase and wait 15 minutes for our rice and vegetables, whilst our main dishes went cold. The final straw was receiving our crispy duck with pancakes, and tiny buckets of sliced spring onion and sliced cucumber and sauce, when we were eating our main courses. There was nowhere to put anything and our tiny plates were covered in bits of food. We had to request fresh plates on which to roll our pancakes. None of the servers tried to help clear away dishes to make space. Finally, whilst the food was tasty, all the pieces (slices of steak, chunks of chicken, spears of broccoli) were enormous and very hard to eat with chopsticks alone. We were all happy to use chopsticks but would like food to be served in such a way that it can be eaten easily. We were not provided with any cutlery, and no spoons for serving the rice, which meant that all three of us were using our chopsticks to put rice onto our plates - a bit gross. The whole experience did not match the £250 price tag!
Food was excellent, service very underwhelming. It started well with the waiter introducing himself and going off to get some tap water. Ordered 2 G&Ts for which he recommended ‘an Asian gin’ but then took ages to return to take food order, taking orders first from a table of four who were seated after us. Starters were lovely and portions v good size. Friend’s main course and sides arrived after a nice gap, but my main course followed a good 10 minutes later by which time I had encouraged my friend to get on with hers. We ordered another G&T each which took ages and arrived just as we finished our main courses. Funnily enough they couldn’t visit our table enough when they needed it back, necessitating us drinking our second drinks v quickly. Bearing in mind we sat down at 4:45pm not sure how they cope at peak times of 8pm. As with most Ivy concessions these days, it’s s bit of s triumph of Insta Perfection over reality. Diluting their brand may yet backfire
😍
Beautiful restaurant, great food, excellent service
Absolutely love the decor and the look, that floor is the best. Upstairs staff were fantastic and looked after us so well. Love the presentation of the dishes and the food is fab, so fun. wanted to try the silver shell, loved it, the other dishes were great. Ethan was our waiter and he was excellent, so efficient, friendly and kind, really made our celebration special. All the other staff were so nice too, and brought everything very swiftly but we never felt hurried. Such a lovely evening. We'll be back soon.
😍
Amazing food and fun atmosphere
10/10 food which tasted incredible, birthday occasions which was the highlight and a perfect place for this. Amazing atmosphere, fun quirky glamorous Wasn’t too keen on the service as every plate we ate got taken away from us striegt after finishing the last mouthful which creates the rushed feeling but apart from that the staff where fun and friendly
This place defies description. It's loud, colourful, vibrant and very hip and chic. The food is amazing and the decor with it's outrageously colourful flooring, ceiling and faux plants (at least I think they were faux) adds to the whole experience. The food was awesome and my wife being a vegetarian was not a problem at all. I had the grilled salmon for mains and since i was still hungry ordered a Maki roll. The food was outstanding and the ambience definitely upped the fun quotient. There are several locations for the Ivy Asia chain and we dined at the one near St. Paul's Cathedral. I would definitely go to any of the locations for a meal again on my next trip to London!
My wife and I with 2 friends lunched here on Thursday 28th July. We had been here before but they hadn't, so we were worried what their reaction would be. No need to worry! As soon as we walked into the reception area we could smell the food, and discern that the atmosphere was pretty much banging. The decor is sumptuous and the staff looked very elegant in their waistcoats. The menu was not to long, simple to understand and staff very knowledgeable if you had a query. They were very hot on asking if there were any allergies and could tell which menu items to avoid. Had a bottle of champagne, a bottle of white wine and numerous small courses with main courses and dessert. The food was great, beautifully cooked, presented and you could taste the individual flavours. My dessert was an enormous cheese cake. That just about slayed me....although I managed to find room for a robust after lunch coffee . The bill was just about £370. Sounds a lot of money for a lunch. But I thought it was a fair amount for a great location with a view of St Pauls, great atmosphere, super food and excellent service. Quick mention for our waiter, Nicole. You were excellent, polite, knowledgeable, and made our afternoon a real pleasure. We loved you! I have seen concerns about the size of portions. Mmmmm, I agree to a small extent. There were 4 of us and we found it awkward to split dishes that had servings of 3 or 5 items for the 4 of us. Our fault for ordering them as it says on the menu how many items there are to each plate. I would liked to have seen a way that you could order more to ensure all diners in the party had a chance to eat a whole piece on each plate.
😍
The best of Asia in London!
The decor is a feast for the eyes and everything on the menu that we ordered was spectacular! Service amazing! Drinks options are spectacular and their presentation - mind blowing!!
good food but too loud music and staff were rude and miserable. I gave them a £150 voucher which they lost then found , no apologies. I wont be going back
We liked it here. The food was nice, the service was good, the drinks were nice, the saxophone was loud - and nice. The desert was nice, and we liked it. Yummy
Service was amazing, very classy place and staff very helpful. Toilets were very nice and fancy, but the food was the best. Amazing sushi rolls and duck massaman curry, and the desserts were exceptional. Will hopefully be back. Amazing views also. Decor is unreal.
We went as a family for lunch after my eldest's graduation. The tone was set pretty much when we arrived. I don't expect a welcoming committee, with flowers being strewn at our feet as we walk to our table. I appreciate simple things like a 'hello' or 'welcome', having eye to eye contact with the receptionist and not feeling like our arrival was a major inconvenience to whatever she was looking at on the computer screen. A muffled phone call, collecting four menus, shuffling behind the desk and then her walking off into the restaurant without 'let me take you to your table' - all without eye contact or talking to us. Not a positive start. Once inside, the decor is impressive and it's lovely having St Paul's right across the street. It's not often you get the chance to dine directly opposite such an iconic building. The food was good, not outstanding. We had a variety of starters, pork belly, lamb cutlets & a lunch stack. All good, all tasty but not anything different to restaurants where the expectation levels - or prices - aren't as high. There are a couple of stations in the restaurant where staff can submit your order on their computer system and naturally staff tend to gather there. I get that happens but what isn't so acceptable is having to listen them have a moan about other customers or a waiter chatting up a colleague. You might think my expectation levels were too high, but given the simple things The Ivy Asia fell down on, I don't think they are; it's just the standards I experienced from them were too low.
😍
Met and exceeded my expectations!
I was taken here for my 60th birthday meal and the food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. Didn't feel hurried to order, or complete my meal and every dish blew my tastebuds away. Spices weren't overpowering and allowed the flavours and nuances to creep through every mouthful.
I can't wait to get back here for another meal!
I was expecting pretentious... but it was far from that!
Truly a great place to eat!
😍
Yes it’s a bit pretentious but the food and service was very good for us.
Clearly a very popular and it was packed out for our mid week lunchtime visit. The key piece of advice I can give as most negative reviews seem to come from people who arrived after the 15 minute grace period from the booking time and found their table had been given away is arrive early. We played it safe and arrived 20 minutes early but were still shown to our table straight away.
Interesting fusion of Asian cuisines and we had a mixture of Korean and Japanese dishes with a couple of our party going for the lunchtime set menu. I went for the prawn curry and I have to say it was very good indeed.
Could not fault the service levels from the young lad that was looking after our table and he even sorted out a soft drink for us that wasn’t on the menu. We stayed away from the expensive alcohol and the bill came to around £40 a head which wasn’t outrageous for what we had and the St Pauls location.
Very interesting decor and despite being plastic the cherry tree is a very striking centrepiece. The guy who eyeballs you in the gents toilet was a bit off putting at first but I did at least get to practice my rudimentary Japanese greetings.
🙂
Great meal - much better than I thought it would be
I was meeting up with a former colleague for a catch up dinner & as both of us have enjoyed eating at the Ivy grills we thought it would be a nice change to eat at one of their new Ivy Asia restaurants and it was very good. The restaurant which is on of 1st floor overlooking St Paul's Cathedral is huge and the décor is designed to reflect Asia with dragons, Samurai warriors (one in the gents) and pagodas etc scattered around the room with wall paper to match. We chose a selection of dishes to share including prawn tempura, popcorn shrimp (like popcorn chicken but with shrimp & just as tasteless) Korean pork dumplings (excellent) roasted sea bass & slow cooked pork belly (again both excellent) with side bowls of the kimichi egg fried rice. We probably ordered a bit too much including the wine (2 bottles of the excellent viognier) but it was one of those evening. We decided to share a dessert of the passionfruit doughnuts which was superb. A lovely meal & I will definitely go back to an Ivy Asia restaurant. Although we were eating early (around 5:30 pm) the restaurant was full. The service was very good throughout & our server was friendly, helpful in explaining the dishes & her suggestions on what & how to order but also very professional
We were a party of five and the restaurant didn't disappoint in terms of theatre, service and food. the choices (some of which we asked for help with!) were well matched and appetites all sated. My only criticism was the lack of policing of a neighbouring teen / young adult private party who seemed to ignore all other guests in their quest to get walloped.
Having an amazing lunch at the Ivy in Saint Pauls… amazing service, great food, great ambience and lovely food… special thanks to Alexandra, leftharios and yanira for making our experience fantastic.
😒
Good experience but too loud!
We were looking forward to coming here for sometime (three cancellations due to lockdowns over two years!)…we finally made it! The restaurant is stunning and unique and certainly has the swanky wow factor on arrival. The staff were generally attentive throughout the meal. The prices of the food and cocktails is pretty standard for this cuisine / restaurant type in London. The food itself was nice with good flavours but hot dishes came out cold.
The biggest bug bear was how loud it was in the restaurant. It may have been where we were sitting in close proximity to the DJ but I couldn’t even hear myself think let alone have a decent conversation without shouting everything.
Overall it was a good experience but I wouldn’t necessarily rush back.
Absolutely amazing place! The food is out of this world, you do need to order quite a few dishes to make it a main meal and no it’s not cheap , but in our opinion it’s worth every penny. We have been twice in the last 6 months, yes you need to book well in advance and yes you need to be on time, but it’s a high end restuarant, that’s the norm! It’s worth leaving space for dessert too, as they are amazing ! We love this place, everything about it, the staff , the food , it’s our favourite !
