Super poor celebration dinner
6 of my family had a meal yesterday to celebrate my sons Graduation from Chelsea. The meal had a rushed feel to it. Orders taken in haste and then the wrong dish being delivered. Staff rushing past our table - my chair was knocked on at least 8 occasions. Manager never smiled once and there was a general lack of welcome unlike my experience at Ivy Cobham and Ivy Guildford. My wife and I chose the prawn and smoked salmon burger as it sounded exotic and unusual - big mistake! A truly ghastly dish with a mashed fried prawn and salmon patty. Very poor and not well cooked. My wife had mentioned our Graduation at booking and to our surprise he got a happy birthday desert with candle!! All in all a really poor experience! Place was full so maybe I’m missing something. Thought you should know as it’s put us off the Ivy chain.
Lack of awareness of the dangers of cross-contamination to people who are allergic to certain foods. Don't bother going.
Unbelievably rude waiter who we had to complain about. My main concern is that when asked if anyone on the table had allergies, and I said fish and seafood, and then ordered my food, I was told I couldn't have the arancini as part of a starter and I couldn't have chips with a salad because they are cooked in the same oil as the fish. Surely in a restaurant that purports to be up-market, you should have better awareness of cross-contamination in your kitchen? When I asked for substitutes - ie boiled potatoes, I was told they didn't do stuff like that. I suggested he should bring this to the Chef's attention and was told that "they don't care; they're not interested" We also had to wait over 45 minutes for bread, olives and arancini for starters, and another overly long wait for a main course. Not somewhere that I will rush back to - a very disappointing experience.

I Had a delicious Sunday lunch Roast Beef & all the trimmings Buzzy Atmosphere, service excellent staff are always helpful. & charming Lovely bar to have cocktail before or after lunch. A beautiful garden which also has a bar in the summer.
Great meal in an unique decor and ambience
When you step into the Ivy , take a few seconds to enjoy the decor and setting … simply amazing and well designed . Menu offers good choice of English favourites. I had the shepherds pie and was happy with my choice. There are also good value meals . Service is good , efficient and helpful. Choice of drinks and cocktails is excellent too- very creative.
In a green setting....
After booking online... arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled time, but no problems, friendly welcome with a smile, a table outside in the middle of the garden and greenery. An aperitif, a fish & chips, always with a smile. Everything was perfect, the place and the food. I recommend this restaurant, a very pleasant little stop away from the noise of the street.
Meh afternoon tea.
Booked a fancy afternoon tea experience. It was fine, but the food was underwhelming and not very good. Only 1 type of tea offered per person. Atmosphere was sort of 1940s British Colonial India with garish, old looking wallpaper and crowded tables. Fancy for that era but felt dated and fake. Very very expensive for what we got.

Kings Road joy
Thank you to the Ivy Chelsea Garden. We started with cocktails at the bar, followed by a very enjoyable lunch in the main dining room. The food was excellent and although the restaurant was extremely busy the staff were very attentive. A special thank you to the charming Lavinia for her polite and helpful service and for ensuring we had a memorable lunch.
Wonderful Service
We took our daughter out to celebrate her Birthday and we had the most enjoyable evening . We were greeted by a professional and attentive server called Pascal. The food,drinks and atmosphere was superb along with the service! Thank you Pascal!
A botanical paradise in the heart of London
Lovely restaurant, simple but carefully prepared food, in one of the most beautiful and chic areas of London. We had lunch in the outdoor garden, a real spectacle!
Disappointed
Booked the Ivy Chelsea Garden for my partner's birthday surprise. Waited a while in the lobby to get booked in, there was a large group of women booking a table. Finally shown to our table and given menus, even though I'd already booked champagne afternoon tea and this had been confirmed once we sat down. Then waited about 10 minutes and someone bought some water. Waited another 10-15 minutes and no order was taken and not greeted and order not taken so my partner asked a menebr of staff, lots of staff standing around. Eventually order taken and told server we'd like champagne afternoon tea, 10 minutes later the afternoon tea arrived but with no champagne and eventually a server asked us if we'd ordered champagne and begrudgingly bought our champagne. Certainly not the service I'd have expected when I'd paid a total of £108 for two afternoon teas. Disappointed to be quite honest.
Great Food and Great Staff
This was the second time being welcomed in this beautiful establishment. Just like last time we are met with kind, professional, and hospitable people. Today we had the pleasure to be catered by Yassine, who went above and beyond to make everything to our liking with a big smile on his face. Yassine is a very well mannered, positive and professional person. And we hope to comeback soon and his hospitality.
Disappointing and frustrating
Very mediocre. Rang up especially to get table in garden and was given terrace instead without being informed tables were only request. Very disappointed as a special occasion and I had booked early. I also asked for a quiet table on the side but got a table in the main thoroughfare. Food disappointing - waiters nice.
Excellent food with great atmosphere in smart surroundings
Lovely restaurant sat Alfresco outside with heaters and had a lovely meal from starters salmon and my favourite was the plaice main meal . Staff were excellent and so was the manager on getting us the wine and nothing was too much trouble do excellent service ! It was such a lovely evening visiting this restaurant after having gone to the Chelsea flower show and so would definatly visit more often !

Nice spot
Great location on Kings Road. The garden area is delightful, and the food maintains the high standards of other Ivy restaurants. The service was decent, and the overall atmosphere was lively. A nice spot for lunch.
Lunch on the King's Road
Just called in on the off chance they may have a table for two. We were shown straight to a table, The restaurant was extremely busy but the service we received was excellent We really enjoyed our meal .
A wonderful setting and usual Ivy high quality food
A lovely day for a pre Chelsea Flower Show lunch. Great to see them taking part in Chelsea in Bloom . We arrived early but we were seated in a bar area and had cocktails. It is a huge establishment we were lucky to be seated in an outdoor area as it was a sunny day. Very busy but friendly staff and great food. Starters then main course arrive when still on table, but that was fine. Had sea bass that was lovely and then frozen berries with ice cream served on smoking/dry ice and a warm white chocolate sauce. A lovely meal thank you.
Noisy and cramped.
Food was good but didn't enjoy eating here at all. Tables are crammed together and small. I couldn't talk to my wife sat opposite me due to noise levels and the people sat either side of me being so close. Struggled to here waiter. Starter and main course came at same time for my wife? Need to reduce number of tables to make it a nicer experience.

Excellent food in a characterful up market venue. Staff were all excellent and couldn’t do more to be accommodating and friendly. Menu selection was not extensive but reasonable, all food and drink ordered were exceptionally presented and delicious. Noise levels were vibrant and bubbly but not overwhelming like in some venues - we could actually hold a decent conversation. A highly memorable experience for all the right reasons, we will be coming back.
Very unsatisfactory experience
Service was very poor. Food cold and came out at different times. Made mistakes with our order and were unpleasant when we mentioned the mix ups. When we followed up with a very quiet mention of our feedback we were dismissed. All very poor.
Simply spectacular garden restaurant
I just love love love this place! Amazingly friendly staff, beautiful decor & the most stunning outside dinning area. The food was ok but who goes here for the food - it’s all about the experience Big bravo !
Unpleasant experience
My wife and I requested a table in the garden, but it wasn't available, so we were seated on the terrace instead. The setting was pleasant, but unfortunately, our table was positioned between two pathways used by the waitstaff to serve food. We were constantly collided by the waiters which led to an unpleasant dining experience. The service was unprofessional, the waitress at end of the dinner asked us to order something else otherwise they would have brought the bill…obviously they needed the table for other customers we understand it but there is surely a better way to manage the situation instead of being simply rude. We paid 208 pounds in two so the bill was a first class bill but the service was not in compliance with it. While the food was satisfactory, our expectations for a delightful evening with excellent cuisine were not met.

Private event with a client company, excellent food and well organized. Great location for business people to access. Would consider using them for events.

Great atmosphere in this buzzy place. The gardens are great to eat in and the service is very good. I particularly want to say what an excellent waiter Bryan Kasombo is. He tended to our every need and was charming, professional and attentive. This is the perfect place to come and celebrate a birthday with friends. Great atmosphere.
We won’t be back
Terrible experience. The Ivy used to be a fairly decent brand. Now, you’re shown curtly to the world’s smallest table, where they cram you in like sardines. I felt we were dining with the couple next to us, it was awkward, nearly bumping elbows with them. (I’m 5ft3 and 9stone- not a big person). The coffee took 25minutes to come and was cold. Breakfast was okay (although to say you had a choice of pastries is laughable, there were two the size of small matchboxes) and my god the service was abysmal and ambience shocking. Saw a family up and leave as they waited so long, despite at least ten or so staff milling about and avoiding eye contact with the patrons as best they could.

Consistent good value
We came to dine at lunch with the Spring Special Menu. Great Value for £27.50 for three courses with a glass of wine. The choices are a selection from the normal menu. This represents a phenomenal deal although only available for a few days in April. This is my third visit to this restaurant and the food is always of a high standard. I find it difficult to not have the Shepherd's Pie - with a side of peas. The service was a bit slow but that is fine if you are looking for a leisurely lunch.

Lovely location and wonderful food as always, we love eating at the Ivy, this one is probably one of our favourites, the staff and always so friendly and welcoming, we can't wait to come back!
NOT SOLO DINER FRIENDLY
Beautiful venue in a great prime location. However, the venue is NOT friendly to solo dinners. I attended the venue looking forward to treating myself to a steak tartare and queried whether I could be seated at the tables outside the venue, however the restaurant host advised the seating outside was not used for customers but a display. I was told I could find my own seat at the bar counter. For a venue, that is marketed as high calibre I found it affronting that none of the other staff standing at the front entrance or the host to offer to show me to a seat and make sure I was welcomed with a menu and water, pretty standard practice at even entry level restaurants. Further when I went to the bar counter myself, the seats available for solo diners were in positions either at the end of the bar in a tight space against the wall so you don't have a good view of the bartenders at work, again it's pretty common for solo diners to want to be able to watch and appreciate either chefs or bartenders preparing orders, as part of the restaurant atmosphere. Further the other available seats were not prepared for customers as the counter top was covered by trays of glasses, so it would be awkward to take a seat without a waiter there to clear the counter immediately. I unfortunately ended up leaving the venue, as ultimately I felt very unwelcomed by the staff who were rather cold and pretentious towards me. I would politely suggest further training to ensure the Chelsea staff understand how to provide warm hospitality to ensure patrons are made to feel welcome as occurs in most of the other premium hotels and restaurants I have dined at. Further it may also help to have staff from the Ivy at Soho provide some mentorship, as I've previously dined there and found the staff quite delightful!
Usual very high standard at THE IVY
This was to be a surprise birthday gathering for Grandad David. From the welcome at reception to leaving the atmosphere was fantastic. In the main we were looked after by Pascal (Zizou) who left no stone unturned in ensuring we had a great time. Like the rest of the staff he was extremely attentive and served our food in a very professional manner. We were a party of (5) including our 11year old twin granddaughters Gabriella and Sophia who also commented on the quality of the food and service.

I don't know if I would choose it again!
The space prepares you for something very good! But the food is just average. We went for brunch. Our pancakes seemed ready not made at that moment. It is a shame that such a nice place in a very good area does not have the same match in food. The rest of the dishes we tried were just good. The staff is kind and helpful.

We came into the restaurant for a lunch to celebrate my mum and dad's birthday. We were served by Laxinia who was so lovely and helpful throughout the whole lunch. She provided lovely insight into the drinks and food which would suit and to our surprise when we ordered our teas/coffee she brought out some lovely cakes with candles for a Happy Birthday song! It really was very special, the ambiance of the restaurant was truly beautiful and a great experience from start to finish...definately visit again!!

Ambience is a state of art and breaths taking if you are looking for a classical style with a strong garden flavor. Staff are well dressed and professional. I had pancake and scrambled egg with salmon. Both dishes are extraordinary. Coffee was superb!!

Obviously this has to get a five star review.
The Ivy is one of the most sought after high end restaurant chain in the British Isles. For starters, SALTED SOURDOUGH. This has to be the best sourdough I have ever consumed in my 15 years of sour dough loving life. I enjoyed the loaf so much I tried to get the recipe for my self but you just can't replicate it! Or maybe that's my baking skills at play.

Came in for a solo lunch when I was walking around the neighborhood. I didn't have a reservation, but they were able to get me seated right away even though it was really busy inside. The decor is gorgeous inside and the cute little table I was seated at had a view of everything. My server was quick and efficient bringing water, taking my order and dropping my food. The fish and chips was excellent! The batter had so much flavor and the fish was cooked perfectly. My drink came with a cotton candy cloud on top and little jelly balls in it and was really good even with it being on the sweeter side. Overall it was a really pleasant lunch experience! Excited to try some of the other locations next trip.

If you happen to be in Chelsea on a sunny afternoon, I recommend you drop in for high tea. Excellent service and fascinating creations make for a special occasion. Specialties include a chocolate mousse cake that looks like a potted plant and a mango smoothie. The house afternoon tea blend was fabulous. The outdoor garden provides a beautiful and quiet setting to enjoy your tea, crumpets, and finger sandwiches.

The ambiance is wonderful and the wait service was spectacular. TheCream Tea is a fabulous deal if you just want a quick tea. You get tea and scones only. Perfect if you have been eating too much during your travels. I made a reservation for one in the garden and I was told they were not seating the garden due to the weather, however they sat numerous groups in the garden immediately after I was sat, that was very disappointing since I had a reservation. I believe it was because I was by myself, who knows. I just know it felt rude.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
