Pampered excellence
Cosseted away in the back room we spent several delightful hours here on a cold, rainy midweek evening. Service and food ( we did the tasting menu) were innovative and beautifully done. Kudos to the chef and staff for creating this little gem.

The Musket Room is amazing. The food is really delicious. The wines are great. Everything was delicious. Such an incredible evening.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing tasting menu
Another one of my favorite tasting menus. Such attention to detail with flavor and presentation. Really liked the foie gras, halibut, venison, caviar and pudding. Beautiful experience.

Be the first to ReplyDisappointing!
Disappointed! Starting with the cocktails, unimpressive, weak, too much ice in the smallest possible glass. Appetizers- pate was average, bread and butter was boring (and not everyone likes anchovies), lamb tartare was interesting but the portion was so small it was pitiful. Mains- we had the duck and salmon. Duck was average, I had better duck in my local not Michelin star restaurants, the salmon was good. Dessert- we didnโt find anything attractive so we did not order dessert. Service was ok, didnโt find the staff friendly and helpful. Bartender was not personable, it was more important to her to chit chat with the staff than to look after the only two people at the bar! Overall - not worth it! We would not recommend and wonโt be coming back!
Be the first to ReplyTasteless menu
This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. 1st was amazing and I recommended it to others. This time was completely different experience and I donโt think I want to come back. The service was very good but not great. The waiters were attentive and add water and changed plates and silverware appropriately but if they saw food left on the plates asked if we liked it or not. So the food choices for this tasting menu were not the best and presented in very plain ways. Out of 7 courses 3 were raw products mix of seafood and different meat. 1 st corse oysters raw. Table of 4 had only 1 person who eats raw oysters. They were delicious though. 2nd course was tartar out of lamb with distinguished taste of nut mag flavor. Very simple dish with questionable flavor. None of us liked it. 3rd course was the best (mouse of cauliflower, potato and caviar) with amazing flavor and texture that was Michelin dish only out of 7. 4th was kind of dry small bird, very simple presentation. Than was pork stake almost raw, cold with big pieces of fat and connective tissues, over salted sauce. Even desert was not good with strong flavor of peanut butter and totally burned peace of slice of toast on top of it. Unbelievable, tasteless dinner. Drinks made with cheap liquor that gave me headaches as soon as we left the place with unpleasant aftertaste of cheap tequila. I hope the chef reads reviews and makes some changes. People come to Michelin restaurants for great surprises in food and drinks. This was absolutely nothing good about food.
Be the first to ReplyClever tricks, average food
Wanted to dine here for a few years. The menu looked solid (but didn't really excite). They drowned the fish dish in a completely overpowering sauce. Service was below par, as the restaurant's trick with the wine pairing is to serve the next wine immediately after the last dish is finished. This was done throughout the meal, often leaving 10-15 minute gaps between wine pour and food pairing. It's a pairing. If you leave wine on the table, with nothing else, it will get drunk. This was particularly distressing for the main meat course. They poured a wonderful 2001 Chateau Beaucastel, 15 minutes before the dish arrived. It was gone by the time it arrived. We politely asked about a drop more, and were told it would be $60 for a 3 oz pour. We were made to feel like we had done something wrong. Unpleasant experience. We will not be back.
Be the first to ReplySuper smart hang out, great food
Sat here at the bar for drinks and food, with a friend. Superb staff, friendly. Drinks selection awesome. Shared the breads and the chicken main. Beautifully served and cooked, we gobbled it all.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive for the experience
Although there are many positives to this restaurant, the overall experience was disappointing since the entre portions were miniscule and after we finished our meal we went for additional food. We are not huge eaters and often do not finish our meals. Not here! ON the plus side, the service was excellent and the food quality was superior. Despite this we could not recommend the restaurant because the price did not justify the value.
Be the first to ReplyShould get another star!
Amazing experience, food was excellent and service was not only great but it actually seemed like the service team was enjoying what they were doing. Much better than some two stars I have visited. Very happy with the dinner and the experience.

Be the first to ReplyWonderful first tasting menu experience for our son!
We decided to take our 15 year old for his proper tasting menu experience in order to reward him for getting all A's. I thought The Musket Room would be a perfect opportunity to introduce him to the wonders of a longer tasting menu and not as stuffy as Per Se or Daniel. It was the perfect choice! The restaurant was so gracious to our son, the bartender made him several non alcoholic drinks to go with his dinner and they even wrote "Congratulations" on his dessert! The food was wonderful. We all agreed the caviar starter was the best followed by the quail. The restaurant itself is very cozy and staff friendly but not in your face. We all had a lovely evening and look forward to returning. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Christmas Eve Dinner
Dined here on Christmas Eve for their special Feast of the Seven Fishes menu. The food, wine, and service were all outstanding. We began with warm, tasty wassail (perfect for a cold evening) and everything only got better from there. The servers were attentive, and the wine pairings with the dishes were spot-on. The crochetta, the razor clams, and vitello tonnato were standouts. We also added chestnut raviolo which was incredibly flavorful and worth the additional charge. The restaurant certainly deserves its Michelin star. Because it was a special holiday menu, we can't comment on the regular menu, but we would expect the service and food to be just as good. We are now definitely keen to come back and try the regular menu.
Be the first to ReplySo Disappointing
After reading the stellar NY Times review my wife and I immediately made a reservation. The space was cozy and cute, the staff friendly and efficient, but the food was a huge let down. Only the scallop and quail courses were remotely tasty or interesting. The beef was tough and stringy, and the fois gras course tasted like an apple pie. The wine list was a total rip off with less than 5% of the offerings less than $100. Dessert was all show, not tasty or well conceived. After paying $400 for 2 and feeling fleeced and hungry, we walked out and compared notes with a party of 4 who also felt this place to be a huge disappointment. We wonโt be back and you should skip it!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing, not good service, not good food
I donโt know what happened but the food is no longer good! Bad cocktails. Not fresh fish. The meat wasnโt good quality (although meat cooked medium rare had to be good quality tk be good). The fig desert was just ok. Service was like in a diner. This place used to be good. Now theyโre cutting a lot of corners. We came to celebrate, but left hungry and unhappy with a $500 bill for 3 people. Bad choice. So disappointed!

Be the first to ReplyPerfect anniversary meal
We definitely made the right choice to celebrate our 20th anniversary at the Musket Room. We were seated in their garden, surrounded by herbs. The staff were, to a person, friendly, welcoming and informative, even answering some questions about Lebanese wine that I'd been wondering about for two decades. We had the omnivore and vegan tasting menus, which were both excellent. Highlights were the asparagus dish (a bean soup, I think) and the lamb. They also suggested some solid wine pairings. It was the kind of meal and experience that we'll remember for a very long time.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable tasting menu
It was an enjoyable diner with the omnivore tasting menu. With a lot of allergies, they were able to accommodate our son with the same menu or alternative. The caviar amuse bouche was delicious , sweetbread was well cooked. The beef tartare was excellent. I was able to feel all the taste of the spring peas with carb and sea urchin. Dessert was very good. I wanted the lamb to be little juicy . Finally we had an outstanding Lebanese red blend.
Be the first to ReplyDisrespectful employee at a Michelin star restaurant. Never again!
We arrived at this Restaurant and were guided to a table less tha 20 inches away from another table. The couple in that table moved their table a little bit fron ours to get some privacy. We did the same, we are over 65 and my husband has his inmune system compromised. We were immediately nagged by an employee called Adam in a very disrespectful way and when I complained about his attitude he said in a very arrogant attitude that if we didnโt liked it we could leave. That behavior is definitely one you donโt expect from a Michelin star restaurant. By the way the food was also terrible. The worst Peking duck I have had in my life! What a complete disappointment! Michelin should reconsider the star they gave to this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyWorst place
I had been here before and liked it , so I was close and decided to go with a friend. We arrived at around5:30 pm when the restaurant was fairly empty so we expected to be seated. However , since we didnโt have a reservation the host seated us at the bar - according to him everything was reserved - , but when we left the restaurant - about an hour later - there were some tables empty - so it wasnโt true that berthing was reserved and he couldโve actually seat us.
Then , at the bar we ordered some food and we were told each plate would take about 30 Minutes so the barman asked us if we wanted
To have some appetizers or bread to which we responded no and we ordered some drinks.
About 45 minutes later, the food hasnโt arrived so we asked how much more time it would take , the answer of the barman was that he hadnโt placed the order because we told him we o my wanted the drinks!!! Ahhh??? We never did !!!
The guy is clearly not suited for that kind of job. We asked for the Bill and left quite upset . This is not the service you would expect from this kind of restaurant .
A place worth going back to!
Came here to have brunch with my friend on a weekend. We were interested in the tasting menu and at the time of booking I did not realize that it was for dinner only. We came here for the caviar on the tasting menu and the restaurant staff was very kind of offer caviar to us for $98. It came with a mid-size jar and was amazing! We spread the caviar with what-looks-like jam and cream cheese on toasted bread. Oh, heaven!
With tasting menu out of the window but my friend and I chose to have the 3 course prix-fix brunch. We both made the same choices.
First came the hamachi tartare. We both liked it. Very refreshing but I think a bit of horseradish and sesame oil would really bring this dish up to the next level.
Next came the duck confit. This dish was nice but I will have to say this is not what I expected. When I order duck confit I was expecting a full piece of meat. Of course this is only a prix-fix brunch and the piece would be smaller but what was offered was kind of a pulled duck meat. It tastes great nevertheless. I love the saltiness and the fat. The fat does not taste greasy. It actually tastes aromatic. A bit of starch to really soak up the fat would have been truly heavenly.
Finally we had the desert -- carrot, cream cheese and pecan. I am not a desert person but I loved, loved, loved this dish. The carrot was cooked and brought a savory flavor. All these ingredients combined together made a truly unforgettable dish.
The service was good. My friend and I would love to come back for the dinner tasting menu.
Nice Vibe, but Food Could be Better
The service and vibe were great, however we expected more of the food. The chicken was okay, nothing special. It verged on being slightly over cooked. The salad and bread courses were adequate, nothing special here either. This was my second visit here. The first, many years ago, was equally unsatisfying.
Be the first to Reply"Disappointing Birthday Dinner"
Food was generally excellent, except that the sweetbreads were way too salty. Service was excellent but couldn't understand the server who was supposed to be explaining what we were being served. Drinks were mainly ice. Totally forgot about my birthday.
Be the first to ReplyNot a Michelin Star experience (unfortunately)
I would have to agree with some of the other reviews which say that this is a confusing place. If it weren't billed as a Michelin star restaurant with a bill premium to match, I don't think I'd have a criticism. Unfortunately the atmosphere and lack of attention to detail just left me feeling a bit cheated of the Michelin star experience I had booked.
I've been to other Michelin star restaurants and I was quite surprised when we arrived that the details you come to expect were lacking. No place to even hang your coats let alone someone offering to take them. The "greenhouse" outdoor seating were literally just greenhouses you could buy in B&Q with cheap metal garden furniture to match. We didn't stay in there for long and instead asked for an inside seat which they also had as an option for us.
However, the menu was carefully put together with delicious and unusual flavours. The wine pairings were the true star of the show and the sommelier was extremely knowledgable and helpful.
Overall I would have to unfortunately say that I was left underwhelmed by the experience. Had I not been wanting a Michelin star experience it would have been a different story but I would struggle to recommend this restaurant to anyone considering the price.
New York gem with artful presentation, delicious food and great service
I was looking for restaurants with delicious food, beautiful presentation and unusual menu. I found this place through Michelin star app. Reservation was easy to make on line. The place is casual with outdoor garden and tables around it and inside wood furniture. Beautiful and clean. Service was excellent. But the food and drinks were amazing. We had tasting menu and we enjoyed every dish that was presented like piece of art. I will definitely come back to Musket Room to taste different dishes.
