Tropicana Atlantic City Reviews from The Last Year
All the fun in one place
Awesome place for any taste. From the casino to the shows there's always something to do. The restaurants are plenty, even for the most difficult to please can find something good here. The casino has hundreds of games to fit anyone's taste. I would recommend Tropicana highly.
The DROPACANA, The DUMPACANA
Hotel is Sadly run down. Carpets in the room have Alot of unknown stains. Bathroom and shower area have leftover hairs. Windows have makeup prints. JUST OLD AND SAD. Elevators dirty. But for $40 what do you expect. If i came here to stay again, I would Really have to think about it..

Dirty not worth the money!!!
My room was not clean. The bathroom had hair in it on the vanity. The head board had white stuff on it. The desk is nasty underneath the glass. I clean up as best I can with my own cleaning supplies. I was in a no smoking room and when I turned on the vent in the bathroom all I smell was smoke. For the price of the room it wasn’t worth the money.
Horrible treatment at front desk
I am emailing from my room at Tropicana in Atlantic City. When I arrived in the lobby, probably around 8:45pm, I got on line at the front desk. There were probably 12 people in front of me and only two people checking them in....slowly. It took me approximately 50 minutes to get to the front of the line, but when one of the ladies had their guest walk away, the representative turned around and walked into the back room. She never returned! The other lady did the same exact thing, which literally left absolutely nobody at the front desk. There was absolutely nobody there for five minutes. At that point there were at least 25 people behind me, all getting upset. When the second lady came out from the back office, she waved me up, and as I approached another woman wearing a "manager" name tag walked out as well. While I was clearly upset, I was never disrespectful or rude, but I said to her, "Where did you go? You just walked away and left nobody here while we all waited." The manager told me, in a very dismissive tone, "She was only gone for 5 minutes. She had to take care of something personal." The manager proceeded to check me in and although the room was paid for by a another party for business travel, she wanted my personal credit card. I asked if it was just for a hold that would be released shortly after checkout, and she indicated that the charge would be $189, and $150 would be refunded after checkout, but the remaining $39 would remain as a "resort fee". Although I indicated that entity paying was going to be paying for everything, but she just told me that I had to pay and there was nothing that she could do. I have absolutely NEVER been treated so poorly. I am a professional and Tropicana is in the hospitality business. There was absolutely NOTHING welcoming at the front desk. My very reasonable "complaint" was met with defensiveness, excuses, and outright dismissed. It took everything in me to remain composed, which I did, but I was absolutely visibly upset. I cannot believe how poor this experience was and I assure you, I attend a large amount of conferences due to my line of work, some of which I am involved in the planning of... and I also frequent Atlantic City from time-to-time personally. I cannot begin to tell you how poorly I rate Tropicana and Caesar's at this point. This was a horribly experience and the manager should absolutely be disciplined for being so rude and dismissive. To blame the company and dismiss a guest that was upset, just amazing.

There was literally nobody at the front desk for five minutes, while all the guests stood helpless and ignored. At that point there were at least 25 people behind me, all getting upset. This could all be verified by video, if possible. When the second lady came back out from the back office, she waved me up. As I approached her, another woman wearing a "manager" name tag walked out as well (I forgot her name). While I was clearly upset, I very certain and intentionally not disrespectful or rude. I said to her, "Where did you go? Why would you just walked away and leave nobody here while we all waited." The manager said to me, in a extremely dismissive tone, "She was only gone for five minutes. She had to take care of something personal." The manager proceeded to check me in and although the room was paid for by another entity, as I am conducting business with them tomorrow, she requested my personal credit card. I asked if my card was simply being used for a "hold" that would be released after checkout, and she indicated that the charge to my card would be $189, and $150 of that would be refunded after checkout. She further explained that the remaining $39 would remain on my credit card as a "resort fee". I tried to explain to her that another entity had agreed to pay for the room in its entirety. She dismissed my claim and told me "there's nothing I can could do", and I was required to place this on my personal credit card. This is going to further inconvenience me and the other entity, as I am going to have to get reimbursed (which requires more paperwork for all of us). She didn't offer any resolution to this. I called guest relations when I got to the room and waited for an answer for 18 minutes (timer on my cell phone). The guest relations associate told me that she needed to get authorization by emailing management. She called me back in my room an hour later and told me the front desk management emailed her back and said that they would not be refunding the resort fee. I have absolutely NEVER been treated so poorly. As a service professional, I do not ever treat someone so dismissively...and as the head of an organization I would not stand for someone treating someone this way. Tropicana is a hospitality business and there was absolutely NOTHING welcoming or hospitable at the front desk or by management. My very reasonable complaint about a lack of staffing and having to personally pay for a report fee when the room was being paid for by another entity, was simply met with defensiveness, as well as excuses to justify the inconvenience, and outright dismissal of any consideration on how to "make it right". While I was clearly upset, I most assuredly remain composed. I was not, and I am still NOT, looking for food or room vouchers. I was looking for an apology and to not have a "resort fee" charged to my personal account. Maybe customer service should have recognize the failure of customer service and "waived" this fee. I can't imagine not getting the $39 will push Tropicana or Caesar's into bankruptcy!
My friends and I had a very nice time.
I love the atmosphere of the Tropicana. Great restaurants. Friendly staff. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Casino is clean.
If I could give it zero stars I would.
First, when arrived they stated my reservation was canceled. They texted me asking how was my check-in. But did not tell me my reservation was canceled. Second when the rude check-in lady "found" us a room, (she said they were all booked. In April sure) she put us next to the service elevator. The room was disgusting with dirty towels on the bathroom floor, garbage cans overflowing with trash, the bed looked like someone was just lying in it, room needed vaccuming and there was urine on the toilet. Calling the front desk is a nightmare and not very practical. Spoke with someone finally after 5 minutes on hold, who stated housekeeping would come up to clean the room and we would be given a $50 meal credit. Housekeeping arrived 45 minutes later stating her shift was over and we were going to have to ask for another room. The second call to the front desk, this time it took 10 minutes. At this point, I just wanted my money back. We go back down to check-in and ask for a refund. The guy was really nice. He "found" another room and was to be an "upgrade" but was the same room that I booked, it was better than the first. All this happened at approximately midnight after a 3-hour drive. We ended up staying anyway due to a much-needed getaway. We were unable to use our meal credit because (can't make this mess up) it was not transferred to the new room. I decided screw it. All they said to us was "Sorry for the inconvenience" what kind of S*$T is that.
Absolutely wonderful
Beautiful room. Very nice and comfy and clean. The food was great the room service was excellent. I really had a great time here in AC. I will be visiting Tropicana again. Hopefully my friends will join me and my husband next time. Again it was great and relaxing.
I don't care your mother died are u paying extra for the upgrade
Let me put this out there my mother died and I was explaining to the manager the room smelled like smoke andi did not want my card charged her response white older lady I don't care your mother died focus on the room at that moment I wanted to snap I held my composure the rooms are old and outdated and they charge for the air conditioner to be turned on I will never go to this property ever only plus was the farm restaurant great breakfast this place is flooded with homeless people cigarettes smoke and the place is a dump for me to spend 2 hours to teach the manager who said my mother did not matter your job will one day u are incompetent uneducated worthless piece of nothing I never in my life wrote a review but I wanted to share mention death the response not my business because you are black
Major improvements--you want a room in the Havanna Tower
After a not-so-great stay in the West Tower back in late 2016, I was a little hesitant to stay here again, but as my wife and I were meeting my sister and her husband at the Trop, I made a two-night reservation for the Havanna Tower. The two stays were practically night and day. First, the rate (for a Wednesday and Thursday stay), only averaged about $90 per night (including taxes and resort fees). We had paid almost $250 on the prior visit. Second, the room was SOOO much nicer. Our room was properly furnished with a comfortable king-size bed, a large dresser, a desk, two end tables and chairs. The bathroom was large in also had a lot of storage. I would have liked a little more pressure from the shower, but this issue is common in plenty of hotels. We had one minor issue. The safe would not work. The Trop sent a security person shortly after we asked, and that one problem was quickly fixed. I'm not sure when we'll come back to Atlantic City, but I would stay at the Trop again, as long as I got a room in the Havanna Tower.
Biz at the Trop!
An awesome stay! We initially had a room issue where we started up in a smoking room. Went to the check in desk and the rep was more than willing to provide us with a non-smoking room. And it was faster than the kiosk check in! All's well that ends well...
We stayed at Caesar's a few weeks ago and had taken a walk
We stayed at Caesar's a few weeks ago and had taken a walk on the boardwalk during the day to the Tropicana. We liked that it seemed more lively and decided to book a Saturday night at the Tropicana. We were in line with the front desk but were then advised to use the self kiosk check ins. We got off the line, waited 20 mins for the kiosk only for the kiosk to say that we needed to see someone at the front desk. While we got back in line, a hotel worker named Michelle asked if we had a reservation and asked for my id. I provided it to her and she disappeared. Several minutes later she returned and was mumbling about no rooms being left and that maybe she can work something out for us but that she'd probably get fired but that she didn't care since she was ready to retire. She talked in circles. Finally I asked for my id back and she walked away. After another 15 mins, we were finally able to speak to Someone at front desk who told us they didn't have any more rooms available despite us having a reservation. We received no compensation for the downgrade in accommodations. The front desk person handed us our keys and yelled "next" without giving any directions to the room or the parking voucher. The room was very standard. The walk to the room was dirty as was the room. There was garbage from the last guests, hair all over the bathroom, and fluids on the wall. After just getting settled into the room, high schoolers that were there for a wrestling tournament repeatedly ran back and forth violently pounding on our door. Despite being reported, the problem persisted all night. I did not feel safe here. The accommodations were sub par and then food/nightlife was underwhelming. Caesars offered a much better experience.
Came to AC to visit some casinos for the weekend.
This one absolutely was in my top favorites that I will definitely visit again. The staff was friendly as soon as you entered and gave friendly directions and suggestions. The members department to sign up for rewards was super awesome and inviting, and so were all the amazing waitresses in the casino. Can't wait to return!
This place is really really in need of renovations.
Bathrooms are falling apart. The TV is like 32 inches. The rooms are old. The Lobby to the shops are nice but these rooms need help
We went to the Tropicana for the YCADA cheer competition
We went to the Tropicana for the YCADA cheer competition weekend. We booked our stay in September - for 2 queen beds as there are 5 of us in my family. We arrived Saturday, Feb 24th. We were asked again what type of room, I said 2 queen beds, non-smoking. We get to our room and it's 1 king. We ask for a new room - told there are none. We asked for a cot - we are told we need to pay $50 for it, even though they screwed up our room. We ask to have the second night taken off our room as we will not be staying Sunday night as well with this room. I am now being charged for both nights. When I called this morning to speak with someone else I was told reservations don't matter. It's a first come first serve type of service with a room. So booking 6 months in advance did jack crap. You'd think Caesars has enough money - apparently they don't - they will not give me back the money for the room. The room had paint chipping off the walls, the AC didn't work. WORST experience ever. If I could give zero stars I truly would.
They destroyed the once nice wooden poker room so they
They destroyed the once nice wooden poker room so they could install even more slots to rob the customers with the worst rate of return in AC. Put Boss cheated us twice in one day at the craps table and other tables. Horrible place to gamble. I haven't been back since. Don't gamble here
My family and I of 5 were given the smallest room possible
My family and I of 5 were given the smallest room possible there was only one bed. It stunk of smoke in our room and they said they couldn't do anything about it. The palm is the best part of this place the food was good. The price gouging was horrible they were trying to charge $800 a night. There was a guy passed out on the elevator floor outside the elevator, the security wasn't trying to move him just wake him up. It was stoping foot traffic, because of that we had to take the stairs and we were on the 20th floor. The shower door wouldn't close and the bathroom room is all wet
Stayed with family five.
I use to come here when I was young. While pleased with the indoor pool annoying it's closed multiple days in the week. Room.service wouldn't let me ask for more than two extra details and there's no such thing as a firm pillow. The fridge worked and overall we enjoyed our stay but was a bit annoying to go so far to the hotel room and once getting scolded going to convenience store next to my tower because kids can't go in casino yet my shower is in the casino there's no winning with this. While my room was compepd the rooms are very inexpensive. The poker game here is a complete snoozefest low stakes 1/2NL
I was only here for an overnight stay so the convenience to
I was only here for an overnight stay so the convenience to casino, restaurant and shows were great. My big concern is the ventilation of the hotel. I could smell smoke in my non-smoking room and while on the casino floor it was hard to get away from it.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Appointment
I was waiting on the transfer for name but it hasn’t happened yet and my reservation is tonight , will it be an issue that is hasn’t changed into my name yet
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Just got scammed!
Thats unfortunate but you can always get your money back if they cancel the reservation.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
