Classy hotel restaurant that’s currently offering outdoor dining service in covid. The staff is very diligent in ensuring everyone is wearing masks and there’s a ton of hand sanitizer. Came here for a small work dinner and it’s a good spot to have an intimate meal or to do some business. You may spot a few celebs since the hotel is a bit out of the way, and offers a good amount of privacy (we saw James Corden).
The food was fresh and high quality. The complimentary bread was warm and I would recommend partaking in the seafood. The Santa Barbara uni was a standout and I liked the salsa that accompanied it. The oysters were also super fresh, and the prawns were standard.
For the main course, I did split the wiener schnitzel (which is apparently a Wolfgang Puck classic) along with the summer truffle pasta that had handmade tagliatelle. The pasta was delicious and creamy, but the wiener schnitzel seemed like any other schnitzel (the only difference being that it’s made with veal). The sides included arugula, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, and some thinly sliced cucumber in a yogurt dill sauce that I liked. For dessert, the hazelnut chocolate bar is small so get a coupe to share. The creme fraiche gelato was delightful and the dessert itself reminds me of a Ferrero Roche with a light chocolate mousse inside.
They have a fully stocked bar and they have some pretty good mocktail options. Service is prompt and professional. If you’re getting dropped off at the hotel entrance, just go straight down the hallway and up the stairs then turn right. Bathrooms are right next to the courtyard on the left hand side (the lighting in the ladies room is quite nice). Overall, it’s a good spot to feel like you’re leaving LA and indulging in a quiet meal.
