Perfect date night spot! Service and atmosphere were top notch! The food is Amazing! From the starter to dessert, every bite was delicious. Our waiter even saved the day by fetching me a cozy cardigan when it got a bit chilly--talk about above and beyond! Can't wait to come back!

My steak was on point and the service from Abdul was stellar but once I went up to the dessert room and they stuck me next to a broom closet behind the bathroom that smelled horrible, my whole experience was ruined. When we told the dessert room hostesses about the smell they didn't even really seem to care. On top of everything that occurred I found it funny/hypocritical that I got a reminder when confirming my reservation about the dress code, however, in the Florentine room, there was a person with their hair in a messy bun, wearing a jean jacket and shorts, and the person sitting next to them was wearing crocs. What happened to the dress code? Is that only for certain people, in my opinion Bern's is not worth the money. Berns used to care about quality of standards when it came to food, service and the experience but that seems to have gone out the window.

The dining room we were in had a little too many statues for my taste, but there were other dining rooms in the restaurant that looked better. My husband loved the room we were in though, so I guess that part is subjective. Porterhouse was great. The regular aged Delmonico (not the 100 day aged one) was cooked medium rare instead of medium as I ordered it, and a little fatty for my taste, but actually the leftovers the next day tasted better. Go figure. The dessert room and the kitchen/wine room tour are not to miss and made for the 5 star review. The preparation of the banana foster in front of you is well worth the money.

After a 2 month long awaited reservation for this much anticipated and legendary high end restaurant, it fell short on expectations. Since my husband and son ordered the larger portions of the delmonico and chateaubriand, I decided to order the snapper. I figured, I'll get to dabble on 3 of their main entree dishes. My poor snapper was so overcooked, even the mashed potatoes that my rubbery snapper was resting on, had crusted over. Our server wanted to know if I would like another snapper cooked up in the kitchen. I was so disappointed, that I was open to any fish entree at chef's choice - I figured, maybe snapper wasn't their strong dish. Either way, I was open to the "surprise me" approach. Our server came back to the table to let me know that the chef agrees that my snapper was overcooked and he would like to try again with the same dish. The manager came to our table and offered to bring my dish personally. All of these small gestures are kind but are also expected of any reputable restaurant. Here's where it fell short of standing above and beyond...my dish came out towards the end of our main dining, so our party of 7 just watched and waited while I dined by myself, feeling rushed since we still had the kitchen, wine and dessert tours ahead of us. There was absolutely no compensation whatsoever on our bill, not even a dessert giftcard to use upstairs, or a "come back next time and tap water on us" voucher. I paid the bill accordingly with their 12% service fee and an additional generous tip since the server wasn't at fault. If Berns expects classiness with service fees, dress codes, and high prices, then I expect proper etiquette from Berns. Do right for your wrong.

Great steaks, great ambience and great service. Our dinners were fantastic. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the tour afterwards was spectacular. Dessert upstairs really put us over the top. If you're in the mood for a great steakhouse, this is the place to go.

We then went to the dessert room and had ice cream because the thought of putting another morsel in my mouth was ridiculous!! Start to finish certainly and experience!!!
Seems to be headed downhill
We have been coming here every five years to celebrate our anniversary. Tonight was extra special to celebrate two birthdays as well. The service was fantastic, and our server was attentive to our requests. The onion soup was tasty but a bit overboard on the salt. The salads were average. Our Steaks were cooked to perfection, although the Delmonico steak had a little too much grizzle. The glazed carrots were overcooked and limp. The tour of the kitchen was interesting, but the wine cellar tour could have been more upbeat as the steward seemed annoyed.

Also, everything entree wise was over salted a bit (and I LOVE SALT, so for me to say that is saying something). my brain actually hurt with the "tour thru the kitchen". My group was in stilettos and open toed sandals, like walking right past an expo line. There was a big puddle by the coffee station. The ex restaurant exec in me is screaming, wow this is not only a potential insurance claim and health code violation nightmare, but wow it's gotta be super invasive for the million staff they have working. Dessert was very good. Love the private dessert rooms. Would I go back? Meh. Maybe? There are lots of better restaurants that have just of good a steak with better presentation for same or less $$. But the dessert room was definitely a thing to do.

We went here for an anniversary dinner and it was spectacular. Even better was we were able to grab a spot at the front bar close to opening without a reservation This place is also huge. So huge that you may be asked to go for a tour of the restaurant and the back of house which includes seeing part of their incredible wine collection. We each ordered the filet mignon, which was delicious but we didn't expect how much extra food it came with. Soup, baked potato and even a salad before the main course. Usually, at most other steak restaurants, all extra sides/apps like these are usually an additional cost but not here! But considering the amount of food we each had, we might order for 1 next time. Especially since we also ordered a half lobster on the side that was huge! Even after all of this, there's a dessert room upstairs that had its own separate experience. You might not be hungry enough for dessert, but you will be after joining the tour after dinner What's the dessert room like? Well this review is already long enough so let's keep it as a surprise for now

Really an experience in Florida culinary. Very expensive but different from every place we have been in USA (even Michellin starred) We will come back sure everytime we come to Tampa.

Disappointed
I just had the worst experience at Berns. This has been a place that held such a special place in my heart as this is where I got engaged 20 years ago. Tonight was a very important night for my husband and I and there was a discrepancy in the reservation by one person which they would not accommodate. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to make a simple accommodation was astonishing. This is a close in my chapter of celebrating special occasions at this institution. As a tampa native it is so sad
The complete gastro experience
We have been looking forward to trying Bern's Steak House for several years now and finally got in there! My wife and two daughters loved the ambiance of the old school setting. Valet was responsive. Bartender was awesome and familiar with Monkey 47, which was great for my wife and I. Our steaks were great and Justin, our waiter, was very attentive. Loved the dessert experience upstairs too! Every bite of everything we tried was fantastic. And the wine list will not disappoint, especially if you like Bourdeaux - which we found no shortage of. Look forward to coming again.

All around wonderful experience. The food was amazing, service was excellent, and ambiance is great. My favorite restaurant in Tampa with one of the best steaks you will ever taste. Highly recommend wine room & kitchen tour. Don’t miss the dessert room upstairs.
Berns...not what it used to be
We were last here before tonight 25 years ago. Celebrating 50th anniversary we wanted to commemorate it somewhere special and came to Berns. Our waiter Sung was topnotch, actually the highlight of our meal. It wasn't his fault that our entire meal was so highly salted that we couldn't eat it. The manager had our meal recooked. By then we were there for 2 hrs and the second serving was still quite salty but not as bad as the first so we decided to take the food to go, as we have a 130 lb dog at home who's nickname is garbage pail as he'll eat anything! To our surprise the mngr did comp our check although we would have prefered our food to be edible and much less seasoned. We decided to make up for the dinner disappointment by going to the desert room, because dessert makes everything better! We so looked forward to the excitement of having the bananas foster prepared tableside! We waited around 30 minutes wondering what could possibly be taking so long. We noticed at the end of the long dark hallway leading from where we were seated flames. I commented to my spouse that they're probably preparing someones bananas foster and that we would probably be next and just then saw the server distinguish the flame so we figured it wouldn't be much longer. About 10 minutes later we noticed our server coming from the same area of where we had seen the flames and she was carrying something in each hand. She quickly placed 2 dishes of extremely melted ice cream that looked almost like 2 bowls of milk onto our table and jarted to leave when my spouse said to her "You told me that you couldn't prepare the dish in our booth but would do it right here where we could watch it all" The server sharply responded "Sorry that you misunderstood" and walked away!!! Such attitude in her tone. Firstly, how dare she dismiss us especially when she was wrong in EVERY way and secondly how dare she have the gaul to serve us a completely melted dessert that she had let sit for 10 minutes after it was prepared. Did she think just because we're elderly that we wouldn't notice or wouldn't complain? Her service performance and attitude were beyond our worse experience. Thirdly, she robbed us of the experience that we so looked forward to!!!! Upset beyond words, I couldn't get out of there fast enough and stopped at the desk to pay for my spouses cappuccino but the woman at the desk said she'd take care of it. I ran out of there in tears! The worse dinner/restaurant experience we've had in all our 50 years together. We drove an hour on our special night with great anticipation of the memories we would create tonight...the entire night was a complete waste and after driving an hour then being there 3 hours we left hungry, disappointed and mad!! My spouse tried to salvage the evening by stopping at Dairy Queen on the way home. Berns Steakhouse extremely disappointing.😢

Fantastic meal and overall experience. Highly recommend. Great experience for a romantic experience. Loved the steak and the oysters as well
Food was average at best.
Walked in on Sunday around 8pm and was seated at a table in the bar area by request. Ambience was nice, staff friendly but the 14 oz Delmonico steak was bland with absolutely no taste. Had to ask the waitress for salt and pepper to get it down the throat. The french onion soup, salad and fried onions were nice added extra bonus but the steak was very disappointing. Not a bad place to visit at least once! $97 total bill with tip excluding drinks and dessert which would be totally worth it if the steak had some tase.
Bucket List time
What can you say? This steakhouse puts all others to shame. The price of the steak includes the french onion soup(delicious), salad, onion rings and baked potato . Anywhere else is plus, plus, plus. The steaks are amazing. Service is top notch. Then the desserts. BAnanas foster to die for. Put this place on your bucket list, and be happy. Just one thing, though, it would be nice if they had a dress code, to complement the fine dining experience. Oh, they do have one? Peccato.
This is my second time going to the restaurant.
My first time I was not able to go to the dessert room. This restaurant does not disappoint their ages stakes are amazing the wait staff is more than awesome.. however the food is just hands down amazing I have had their mac and cheese It's so good I've had their aged Delmonico steak and it does not disappoint, perfectly seasoned and cooked with such delicious flavor. The dessert room is a must,very intimate setting with so many dessert choices, you can't go wrong.

Fantastic as always. Redone bar area is great. 32 ounce porterhouse couldn't be better - haven't had any better steaks anywhere else including some of the best in NYC. Silverado cab and banana tres leches dessert excellent. Plus the usual super professional staff, great bartenders and vibe.
Death, taxes, and a consistent meal at Bern's.
At the recommendation of our server I had the center cut Delmonico Steak. It was cooked to perfection. The Bone Marrow was the best I ever had. Froi Gras was very tasty too. We skipped dessert but thoroughly enjoyed a tour of the kitchen and wine room. For cocktails I had the Bern's Old Fashion. Pro tip - order it on the rocks, it seemed to be a better pour. Five star meal and experience. Kudos to Mr. Russo for being such a good host.

Always fantastic service, food is always on point and they are always consistent with what they serve. Our server last time we went exceeded our expectations. I wish I remembered his name but he had been serving there for over 45 years he said. He really knows how to take care of his customers. My risotto came out cold and he went above and beyond to make it right. He brought me another glass of wine while I waited for the new one to come out. He even walked us over to the dessert room. Can't wait to go back!
The steaks are really good.
The sides are not all that good. The key here is the meat. The steaks are on par with other steak houses in the Tampa area. What I had was a porter house. It's really good. But not better than Charlie's steakhouse.

AMAZING experience! I've been wanting to go to Bern's for years and we finally made it. Everything from the service to the quality and taste of our food was top notch. We did the tour after our meal and saw the kitchen and cellar. It was really neat to learn about their wine collection and how much food goes out of their kitchen on a daily basis. This was an expensive meal but it was totally worth it. Compared to other steakhouses the prices really aren't that bad since sides, salad and soup are included with your entree. This was my first time having a dry aged steak and it was wonderful! If you are looking for a steakhouse, Bern's is THE steakhouse to go to. Just be mindful that you will most likely have to make a reservation several months ahead of time if you want a specific date/time.

All the tables are in semi enclosed private booths that include individual controls for music or to listen to the in house piano player. A phone in the booth is available to call for piano requests. Very cool. The dessert and drink menu is extensive and we were all pleased with our deserts. I had the kind midas (carrot cake), very good. We also had the creme brulee, delicious. Definitely make reservations for dinner or dessert. Highly recommend for the food and experience.

Came here for a bachelor party in which we reserved a private room and had to reach a $4k food and drink minimum. Our private servers took excellent care of us and attended to our every needs. We ordered some appetizers and steaks for the table. One of the appetizers we had was the excellent seafood tower. Very fresh and extremely appetizing and refreshing! Some of the cleanest tasting seafood I've had. When the steaks came out, there was a lot left to be desired. I felt that the steaks lacked seasoning and definitely required the accompanying sauces to really taste the elegance of the restaurant. I feel like if you're going to spend that much money for a higher end steak, the flavor of the meat should stand alone. I was disappointed because I had extremely high expectations for the steak but the flavor let me down. We enjoyed the tour of the kitchen and the cellar. You can tell the tour staff was pretty tired of the same script that they have to repeat several times a day and I can't blame them. It's a pretty neat experience seeing a behind the scenes look at an extremely elegant establishment.

The food as always was wonderful and was served promptly and with flair. One Delmonico and three filet mignons were enjoyed by our group of four. We enjoyed the kitchen and wine cellar tour and the dessert bar was as decadent and outstanding as always. The food was great but the service is what made the night extra special. Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
