It's expensive. It's dark. They sell big pieces of meat. I took my son here as a special treat. I've been to all the other steakhouses when with work colleagues, but rarely do it in my personal life. We started with the bacon steak, which was delicious. My son tried to put rolls in his pocket for later. For dinner, we had a porterhouse for 2, Mac and cheese, and garlic whipped. All outstanding food. We ate leas than half of what hit the table. It was a lot. So was the bill. Especially since I had 3 glasses of tasty red at $25 each. This is not for the faint of heart. Bring a flashlight and a credit card with a high limit, and skip lunch that day.
We have been before when we visited NY and this time was just as good. We went twice and each time was fantastic. I donโt think there is a better steak to be had in the city. Love the bar, love the ambience, we will be back for sure

We were running some errands in the city so stopped here for dinner. We had a great time as usual. Food was good as well. My salmon was a bit off vs the usual so I didn't really enjoy it. The server was nice and helpful. It was busy do wait times were alot but he managed it as best he could. Lobster mash is my fave side and thing there. The cheesecake wasn't the best either. It tasted really really cheesy yes i know it's cheesecake but this flavor was odd.

One of the best steak houses in NYC hands down! The experience overall is amazing, the food is so good and extremely flavorful with great options. They have live music with (ok) signers but a great selection in music choices. I'm all about decor and Mastro's is well decorated and very chic for a perfect elegant night out.I always get the scallops and they never disappoint. My boyfriend got the steak and loved it. We shared the sides and had so much food left over. You will leave Mastro's full but you can't leave without trying the butter cake, it's outstanding!

My family and I also have a great time here.
We came for my Husband's birthday and they were so accommodating to us being that we had a stroller and our baby. Food was excellent, only thing was our crab cake arrived a little cold. Other than that our server was phenomenal and created a birthday experience to remember.

This was my first time ever going to Mastro's and I think I know where I'm going for my birthday. I got the filet mignon with truffle butter mashed potatoes and lobster mac & cheese when I tell you this may have been the best steak I ever had they give Catch steak a run for their money, and I cannot wait to be back. The mashed potatoes were to die for and the Mac and cheese OMG. I don't know who cooks the food but I want to give them a big hug and a lot of love 10 out of 10
If your in the Hilton Midtown area this is not a bad place for dinner. Yes, its a loud NYC midtown steakhouse. But, the food is good. No, its not a Peter Lugar or a Keen's but its a good steakhouse in a good location. The service is not bad at all for a busy restaurant. It has a unique character that I enjoyed. Outside NYC this would be a very good steakhouse but judging by those standards I consider it average.

The atmosphere is very nice , dull lights which brings a romantic side to it. When I went there was a lady singing and playing the piano. She was good. The steak was good, I've had better but the sides made up for it. I really enjoyed their mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. There desserts were also great.

Last night we came to celebrate my friend's birthday and the overall experience was good. However, the French onion soup was way too salty I could not even eat it. The sautรฉed shrimp and the bread was salty as well. They really did overdo it with the salt. Their steak and sides are perfect as always though. I usually order the New York strip when I go there but decided to switch up for porterhouse this time. It was cooked perfectly. Too bad I was already thrown off by the salty food at the beginning that I could not enjoy the steak as much as I should. The warm butter cake was good, service was amazing.

Used to be one of my favourite steakhouses in the city but lately the quality of service dropped dramatically. It's my 3r time in 2022 having dinner at the bar. Bartenders ignored me since the minute I arrived: 20 minutes later i had to distract them from cleaning routine. However , I noticed that they paid attention to 2 men constantly asking if they need anything else. My assumption is that they are focused on male clients more than female: I wish I recorded the video. Despite it, there were at least 6 glasses were broken inside of the bar by personal.Overall, customer service is NOT good. Wish the management to devote some time to train new employees and bartenders and make sure they understand not only how to "clean" table but to "serve" as well BUT !!!! Food is still fantastic !!!

I come here all the time, it's like my go to restaurant
I come here all the time, it's like my go to restaurant since I'm always in the area. The food is great, however the customer service I received yesterday was atrocious. I booked a reservation for Valentine's Day in November, only to have the reservation canceled 2 days before Valentines day. I called & was accommodated again, only after being spoken to very rude. Again on Valentines day morning, the reservation was cancelled yet again even after being asked to put a card on file. So once again I had to call and be accommodated, only to get there and see that the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity and then was Seated at the bar even after having a table reservation. Thankfuk for Wanda, the bathroom attendant who remembers me as being a familiar patron, she was able to assist the workers to help me get the table I originally reserved. After this, not too sure about recommending this restaurant to my peers.

Had a spontaneous date night out and decided to check out this steakhouse. Food was great. We ordered filet mignon and 33oz Ribeye- very flavorful and juicy! Also had the mushroom gnocchi and Brussels sprouts- great sides. The best thing about the entire experience was the service! Erin was a wonderful and attentive server and Wanda the attendant was so lovely. I'd come back just to have a chat with Wanda. We will be back. Thanks Mastros!

Dining in Manhattan can be risky business.
Everything from poor service, kitchens that don't care about quality and flat out "clip joints". I've long heard about the legendary service at Mastro's in the Times Square district and we were not disappointed. The food was every bit Mastro's quality - which means 5 star. But what set this apart was the "swarming" of service we received. A true team effort on a very crowded night. Friendly, responsive and thorough. Shrimp cocktail was fabulous- popped when I ate it while having my perfectly poured Belvedere. Bone in filet was like eating butter, the filet was so rich. The famous Mastro's bread basket was out of this world as was the sautรฉed spinach and the Mac and cheese (no lobster). Great table downstairs with a terrific view If you are looking for the perfect steak dinner in Manhattan- come to Mastro's!
You responded to my review as "owner" of Mastros. Perhaps you can do something about the terrible service. The FOH is something that needs a ton of help.

Great Steak and loaded potato! Service was phenomenal, wine list was great, ambiance was spot on, and the food exquisite! There are a lot of steakhouses within this city block, but the one to recommend would be Mastro's over all others!

One of the best dinners I've ever had.
Hands down. Impeccable service. Perfect execution. Rack of lamb was unbelievable tender and fresh. Filet melted in my mouth. The lober bisque was the perfect start for the savory main course.

Where do I really event start? I came here for a birthday
Where do I really event start? I came here for a birthday celebration, and was pleased with each step of the process. Although we arrived late, the hostess honored our reservation. We were able to sit at the bar until our entire party arrived. The food was amazing! I had the filet mignon and add shrimp. The sauce that they used for the sautรฉed shrimp was delicious. The Mac and Cheese was so good! Other sides we ordered included, mashed potatoes, and asparagus.Things to note: The sides are big enough to share with 3-4 people. If dining here with a group, I'd recommend that each person orders a protein, but order 3 sides for the table. I can't wait to come back! Definitely give this place a try.

Disappointing Service....
My sister and I dined at this location this evening celebrating our last vacation day in NYC. While the ambience of the restaurant was nice the service was horrible. We were seated right next to the singer in which the music was overbearing. The lamp on the table was not lit. We had to use the flashlight from our iPhones to read the menu. The waitress' attire was questionable. The front of the dress was extremely low cut... a lot of cleavage on display. Possibly, a nice form of entertainment for some patrons. Yet, for us it was annoying. Ironically, earlier in day we received a voicemail message confirming our reservation and informing us that the restaurant's dress code is business casual. The restaurant should remind the female staff of the dress code. The waitress did not check in to see how everything was going. Though she did run over to ask if I wanted another drink. Actually, I would like to sit in a less noisy area of the restaurant, have adequate lighting at my table and have a waitress who was genuinely concerned about my dining experience. For the price you pay to dine at this restaurant we were expecting exceptional service to compliment the food creating a memorable experience. Not tonight...
