Amazing food, service, and experience! Highly recommend
Amazing food, service, and experience! Highly recommend this place to anyone. We went early enough to bring our teenage boys and they loved it.

Three of us arrived at 4:50 on a Friday for happy hour which starts at 5pm Monday through Friday. The bar was full but the lounge area had plenty of seating when we arrived but filled up quickly as it got closer to 5pm. We waited til 5 and a waitress Justine approached us and took our drink and dumplings order. Their happy hour features $15 tiny martini flights and $1 dumplings. There is no minimum for dumplings you can order. The drinks came out quickly on these cute little trees and the dumplings right after on plates. The tricky part is the tables are in between the little couches so you either eat on your lap or at one of the tables in the middle. We ate on our laps which was fine. The chicken gyoza and pork potstickers were delicious!! We ordered another flight and more dumplings and despite it being very busy Justine was very attentive. Would definitely come again and make sure you get there before 5pm to secure a spot.
Frankly the food is sub-par for what you would expect.
It was delicious but the steak was cooked in this heavy, Panda Express tasting sauce and was overdone. The dumplings were dry. The Pad Thai was dry. The restaurant is beautiful but so loud and dark--I guess that is what you get in NYC. The ambience is great at least. The service is extremely fast and there was a crew of at least 4 waiters constantly clearing our plates. I felt like I had to wolf down my food before they took my plate away. The dessert was spectacular--got some orange mousse thing and it was insanely good.

Went to check out the happy hour on my way home which consists of $1 dumplings and $15 martini flights. First mistake was going on a Friday evening. Don't do it. The restaurant opens at 5 pm, I pulled up at 5:10, the bar was already full but there were a few empty seats in the lounge area. There was a guy outside, security/doorman yet he failed to open the door for me. This was the 1st instance of poor service. I ordered an espresso martini at the bar. It was average 6/10, not worth $22 during happy hour. I found a seat in the lounge. There were allegedly 2 servers working who never seemed to be around. You literally had to flag them down to receive service. I happened to be sharing a table with a couple who got the attention of a male server. He took their order and never acknowledged me until I stopped him to ask a question. 2nd instance of poor service. At that point I refused to order with him bc his lack of acknowledgement meant he didn't deserve my tip. I went to the bar to place my food order since I had my card on file there. The bartender said he wouldn't be able to place my food order despite me never having a server come to take my order at the lounge table. Mind you I asked the server if it would be ok for me to order at the bar where my tab was open and he confirmed it would not be a problem. 3rd instance of poor service. No one knows what's going on or how to streamline things. At that point I should've paid for my drink and left but I gave it a 5 min grace period. I wanted to try the dumplings to get a full experience. Finally a female server came over bc the bartender sent her to take my order. I ordered the pork and chicken dumplings and edamame. The dumplings were good for a $1 each but nothing special. The edamame was basic. I couldn't finish the edamame so I asked for them to be wrapped to go considering I paid for it. The busboy went to ask the general manager, (his name escapes me) if it would be ok. I took this opportunity to express my dissatisfaction with the service to the manager and suggested the need for improvement. He was polite and listened to me however, he did nothing to rectify the numerous instances of poor service and I was not allowed to take the food I paid for home. There's nowhere on the website or happy hour flyer indicating food to go would not be allowed. At this point I was over it and beyond ready to leave. $67 later and a feeling of pure annoyance was not worth 'happy hour'. 2/10 do not recommend.
Had the most delightful dining experience here! A friend
Had the most delightful dining experience here! A friend and I came for their happy hour deal which was incredibly worth it. We got a $15 Tiny Martini Flight and got the Manhattan, Lychee Martini, and Taotini, which were surprisingly a little strong. My favorite was the Taotini - sweet with a slight tang! My friend really enjoyed the Lychee Martini which I think TAO is known for. The dumplings were delicious and such a steal at $1 per dumpling! Between the two of us, we each had a total of 3 pan fried chicken gyozas and 3 pork potstickers. While the dumplings didn't taste super authentic, they were nonetheless crispy and flavorful. I was really surprised by how packed each dumpling was. We even ordered 3 more chicken gyozas later on just because of how good they were! Highly recommend going early. We got there a little after 5 and the downstairs bar was already filled so we went and sat at the empty bar upstairs. By the time we left around 6:30, both bars and most of the general dining tables were filled. The servers were very kind and upbeat. The inside is absolutely beautiful too. Really worth the trip!

Before anyone says anything, yes, I realize I am out of my depth at this place. We met some family friends here for a late lunch. Party of 8 please. We all did the 3 course lunch. I had the lettuce rolls, crying tiger hanger steak and banana pudding. Everything was top notch. Steak was perfect medium. Hot pink center and juice running in the plate. Banana pudding was excellent. Not grandma's recipe but really really good. Service was 5 star.
This happy hour deal is honestly kinda hard to beat.
It's a very upscale restaurant, so these prices for a happy hour was fantastic! The martini flight was $15 for 3 martinis, I will say the martinis were kinda small and not all that strong. But they were so ridiculously tasty. Especially the espresso and litchi ones - so so delicious The dumplings were all also great - pretty cool value because they're $1 per dumpling so you can try all the different ones. The edamame is just $5 and you get SO much edemame - yummy edemame too! Definitely go early because the happy hour space gets stupidly crowded, we went around 6 on a Thursday and barely had place to stand. The vibe upstairs is fancy and well decorated though, so overall enjoyable experience!!
Amazing experience.
Great food and excellent service. Drinks were delicious and the staff was super friendly. I'll definitely be bringing my family back here. Located in heart of NYC, this place boasts many accolades including a great space and a wonderful ambience.
Great Experience
The food, atmosphere and service was fantastic, loved it all from the decor to the fast service. The food was great, will be back
Abundant and very tasty dishes. Charming place
Excellent place, suggestive, in line with the prices of other American restaurants. Oriental cuisine and hearty dishes.
Very poor service
Some of the worst service I’ve experienced. It began with the hostess who was curt and borderline rude. It continued with the bartender, who seemed like he had more important things to do than help customers. And the waiter had to pay reminded several times. Really poor overall. Avoid
Super rad spot near Central Park.
..great mood, music and lighting with extra tasty items. Highly recommend the salmon and edamame Had an amazing waitress, on the ball, checked in and was fast and efficient. Couldn't have been better. We had non alcoholic drinks, the fojito strawberry was soooo good!.

Went her for my girls birthday I couldn't tell you how happy I was with our server customer service top tier the food was great and the portion size was pretty decent I'd come back again for special occasions I visit pao I'm now a fan of Tao
Delicious food! Amazing ambience.
I enjoyed the bar area while we waited for our table which didn't take long at all. We had a great time we ate at this location 3 times during our 7 day stay.

Had a fantastic girls' night at Tao! The Thai sweet and spicy shrimp stole the show, and the pad Thai and fried rice were delightful. Ending on a sweet note with the fortune cookie dessert and mousse was the perfect finish to a tasty experience. Come here if you want a more ambiance vibe - it's worth it!

Came here for valentines day! They had a box of free chocolates for everyone which was a cute touch. We ordered 2 shrimp appetizers. One of them was shrimp lettuce cups and the other was garlic chili shrimp with fried noodles. I preferred the lettuce cups which were tasty, crispy, and saucy. The other was good as well but the flavor got a little too salty/heavy after a while. For entrees, we got the black pepper filet mignon and the triple pork fried rice. The filet mignon was super tender and cooked well. Paired with the veggies and rice, it was very good. Definitely need rice with it as it can be a little salty. The triple pork fried rice was very good as well, very fragrant and a generous portion. Overall, decent Chinese food but definitely overpriced as you could get the same or similar at a Chinese restaurant for half the price- you are definitely paying for the nice environment.
The RUDEST staff.
We were here celebrating our son's birthday. When we walked in, we thought the decor was neat! However, things immediately got weird. The hostess led us upstairs, where there were many empty tables, and told us where to sit. As we walked to the table, she snapped at me and my younger son for walking the "wrong way" to the table (?!) It was an almost-empty room but apparently she *really* wanted me to walk counter-clockwise around the table and yelled at us to walk in a particular pattern to the table. We should have walked out right then, but I just told my son to do as she asked. When we sat down, it was in the back corner and a glowing iPad was attached to the bar and shining at me so I asked another staff member if we could move over to the next table. There were like 10 empty tables around us, but she acted like I had asked for something ridiculous. She rolled her eyes, scowled, and said we could move over. At this point, my husband suggested leaving because the staff was really putting a damper on our son's bday. But then, the server came up and asked for our order. I selected some sushi rolls for our appetizers. The server said no, we can't just put in appetizers at first. We have to decide everything we want to eat the entire night right away, and order it all at once. The server seemed super irritated that I wanted to order apps first and then order main courses. So we told him we'd just take sushi and drinks and that's it. We planned to go to a different restaurant for our main course. The sushi was good, but staff was so rude, it overshadowed everything else. On the way out, I told a different hostess how bad our experience had been, in hopes that maybe she could pass the message along to management so they can do some additional staff training on politeness and hospitality.
Manager is a big cry baby that hides behind the bouncers.
Goes and hides when he sends the bouncers, has no balls!!!!
Rude AF.
Hostess was rude. Manager was rude. Waiter was rude. Bag of jerks. Good sushi.
Expensive but good portions
We were recommended to go to TAO downtown however this was full so we went to their uptown restaurant for dinner. First impressions were good, welcoming host and impressive decoration with a 16 foot buddha statue and water feature creating a focal point in the restaurant. The prices were expensive which was to be expected given the location of the restaurant however the portions were quite large so at least we left with a full stomach. We out a lot for business and I guess if you are putting it on expenses, (like most of the clientele in here will be doing) it doesn't really matter and the restaurant was full so I guess the prices work for them. Toilets and restaurant were clean and we'd consider eating there again.
My bf and I and his friends went there for a night out.
We loved it. Great Friday night vibe, yummy food, and excellent service. We ordered their grand desert and it was a show stopper. Highly recommend :)
Extremely disappointing experience.
My guest and I were sick almost immediately after eating. I was really looking forward to an outstanding meal but it ended up ruining our weekend plans in the city. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place nor would I ever go back
So overpriced!
We were really looking forward to our meal here and left very disappointed. Upon getting to the restaurant we had to wait a while for our table - which seems silly when you book and pay a deposit to secure your space. The waiting room was cramped and very loud. When we got to our table the restaurant was very loud and dark - ambient but we could barely see or hear anything! The food was average and not at ALL worth nearly $300. The restaurant didn’t even take off the money we’d paid for the deposit. The whole place was just packed with people taking photos for Instagram. It was really quite a sight. People obviously go just to take photos and not actually are bothered about the food. But it’s very off putting when there are flashes going off in your face and you can’t get down the stairs to use the toilet because people are taking photos there. Seriously would not recommend, we felt like we wasted our money,
50th birthday dinner
Tao was amazing. The cocktails were awesome. The vibe was amazing and all the food was delicious. I recommend the short ribs small plate. It melts in your mouth.
Young, vibrant restaurant
This marvelous, super-popular restaurant was a great place to celebrate my mother's birthday. The whole restaurant has preppy Asian-fusion vibes, with cool staff and hip music. The whole crowd was young and vibrant. We checked in for our reservation and had a 10-minute wait in the (loud) bar, but we were then seated at a table upstairs where it was marginally quieter. The menu has a lot of options for everyone, with a variety of dim sum, small plates, and entrees. Food came out relatively quickly after we ordered. The Chilean sea bass was sublime, the red snapper had a deliciously small kick to it, and the eggplant side that came with the red snapper was delicious. I also really liked the duck egg rolls. The one thing I'll say is that the music upstairs got progressively louder throughout the night so that it got harder and harder to hear everyone else at the table.
A family favourite
This place never disappoints consistently good food great atmosphere friendly staff - food can come out slow but just so busy but a family favourite for us - well done!
Far too cold !
Sadly the restaurant was very cold and continued to be despite asking 4 times for the air conditioning to be turned down. So many tables had people sitting around in their coats, because it was so cold. Food was nice but served far too quickly. In and out within an hour, does not make for a memorable evening. Felt like they just wanted to rush every out, so they could get the next lot of customers in. Would not return.
A blast!
This is a packed, noisy, wonderful place. We sat at a round tale with 7 people and shared so many terrific dishes. The service is very competent and friendly and there was NO dish that disappointed. Try the giant fortune cookie for dessert. Enough for everyone--very whimsical.
Good Asian food with decent ambience
The food at the restaurant was very good as the staff who checked us in were outstanding and the lady who served us at the bar while we were waiting was awesome. However the server on the upper floor was less than ideal and his service was subpar. Did not think to check on us at all after the food was served and we had to ask for the manager, Chris, because of it. Hopefully, he will provide some remedial training. Food was great and the bar did a great job with my cocktail, but food service was below average.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal

Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
