The most unique steakhouse experience
Iโve been to my fair share of steakhouses, but this was my first Korean steakhouse โ what a treat! We all got the Butcherโs Feast and were blown away by the quality and quantity of amazing food. The meat melts in your mouth, and the sides are excellent too. Loved the salad and paella. Also big fans of the stews. To top it all off, the ice cream at the end with miso caramel was to die for. Will definitely be back, if lucky enough to snag a res!

Pure magic! The hype is real and it was not easy to get a table - now we know why. Cote is something else. We went for the Butcherโs Feast and added the Japanese A5 wagyu. All cuts served were so delicious - next level is not enough. We had to close our eyes to fully experience all flavors. We will never forget this food memory.

Delicious. Had three different varieties of steak. Each one melts in your mouth. Server suggested the special house wine that they had that night. I found that it paired perfectly (everyone around us was talking about the wine--reminded me of Italy where the house wine usually beats anything else). Service was a bit bumpy as people were either going on break, etc.--that was the disappointment of the evening for a Michelin restaurant and why 4 instead of 5 stars. But would I go back and recommend--Yes! One of the best steaks I've ever had--Yes!!

We entered without a reservation, were advised of a 30-minute wait at the bar before being allocated a table. The young Sheril from Puerto Rico suggested we enjoy a drink at the bar while we waited. However, she later informed us that no tables would be available at that time.
Be the first to ReplyGreat if youโre going for the ambiance.
Our second visit. First time was sitting outside in the (closed) street during COVID. This was our first time inside. Cote has become very popular and gained a Michelin Star in the interim. The service and ambiance are excellent. There are many servers who are all polite, attentive and helpful. Seating at the tables is strikingly spacious for Manhattan. The bar seemed cramped, crowded and oddly right in the middle of everything (in a bad way, causing an obstruction). The cocktails are fancy and tasted great. The wine is poor. I would say the food is well presented, but the taste is adequate. There are plenty of more authentic and cheaper korean BBQ joints in NJ and Korea town, where the food tastes much better, without the flashy ambiance or popularity of Cote. My advice โฆ go to Cote for the experience, but know there plenty of other choices if you are just looking for tasty food.

Not your typical koreatown restaurant. More like fine dining version of Korean BBQ. Top notch service and high quality beef. Give it a shot if you want to try something different than going to 32nd st.
Be the first to ReplyBest all round Korean food experience.
All round best Korean food experience with outstanding service and a very well rounded selection on their Butcherโs Delight.

Very hard to get a reservation but worth the trouble. Tried their Butcherโs Feast which consists of 4 different cuts of meat of 2 oz each (hangar steak, 45-day dried ribeye, American wagyu & Korean galbi), soup, an egg souffle, a number of Korean pickled sides, and dessert. I added a Japanese A5 Wagyu as supplement. You know the quality of meat is excellent if the only seasoning you need is a sprinkle of salt. All the meats were incredibly tender but the best was of course the A5 Wagyu. Finely marbled and melt in your mouth buttery and rich. I would definitely go back and next time order the A5 and the galbi again. While it is Michelin-rated, atmosphere is laid-back, informal and unstuffy. Pricing is also reasonable compared to other steakhouses in the city. Service is decent and the servers do know how to grill a perfect medium rare in front of you. Liked that the grills are smokeless so you donโt leave the restaurant smelling like a chimney.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Service at Cote Korean Steakhouse
Disheartened by Disappointing Service at Cote Korean Steakhouse. Our family's recent dining experience at Cote Korean Steakhouse was unfortunately overshadowed by subpar service from our waitress, Olivia. Despite the restaurant's reputation for delectable Korean cuisine and a stylish ambiance, Olivia's inattentiveness and lack of culinary knowledge left us feeling disheartened and dissatisfied. From the moment we were seated, Olivia's demeanor was noticeably dismissive. She struggled to explain the Korean food concept, offering vague and unhelpful responses to our inquiries. Her lack of knowledge about the menu was evident, leaving us to navigate the culinary landscape on our own. Throughout our meal, Olivia's presence was sporadic and her interactions with us were curt and unwelcoming. She rarely checked in on us, failing to inquire about our satisfaction or offer drink refills. Her lack of attentiveness extended to the end of our meal, as she simply dropped off the check without any words of gratitude or farewell. While the food and ambiance at Cote Korean Steakhouse were ok, Olivia's service shortcomings left a lasting impression that detracted from the overall experience. We were disappointed that such a reputable establishment would allow such subpar service to go unnoticed.

Absolutely delicious food, incredible flavors that just left you in awe. Amazing service! Awesome vibe. Truly loved it and one of our best dinners ever

Bartender was excellent but, unfortunately, the experience plummeted from there. We had a 10:30 reservation and weโre invited to stand at the bar. A manager came over and said they were behind siento some kind of grill problem earlier in the evening. Okay, no problem. We smelled trouble when they sent out complimentary appetizers. We finally left at 11:15 since there was no indication when or if our table would be ready. Mainly disappointed because we had looked forward to the visit, and Iโm sure they wouldnโt have hesitated to charge $50 per person fee had we no showed. Also, crazy loud and really terrible music
Be the first to ReplyDinner in New York City, NY
Came here last Saturday eveningโitโs so hard to get reservations here but luckily managed to get one for an early 5pm dinner, cabana (outside) table for two! We arrived a few minutes late but had called ahead to notify themโwe were seated indoor by the bar which turned out better than outside in the hot weather. Food was good and service here is too notch! We ordered the A5 Miyazaki Prefecture Ribeye for each person ($34 per ounce)โit just melts in your mouth, so tender and delicious, but expensive. The Kimchi Wagyu Paella was okay. Normally I love Galbi but their COTE Galbi was a bit chewy and lots of fat, however, the seasoning was good. Cocktails were great as well! Service was A+!! Our server Carlos was awesomeโhe was so attentive and friendly! Would recommend this place if youโre able to secure reservations.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent from start to finish!
Just an all around great experience. Food, service and ambiance make this a must visit while in town. It was the first of many visits to come. I always like to try new spots when I visit NYC, this is the kind of restaurant that will stop me from visiting new spots, thatโs how good everything was!

We enjoyed our time at Cote. The service was excellent, and the food and beverages were outstanding. We sampled several different steak cuts, all of which were flavorful, tender, and fresh!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Butcherโs Feast dinner โ just wish they offered more thorough guidance
Dinner at 1* Cote last Tues night (at 10:30 pm!) was wonderful. We both did the Butcherโs Feast of four cuts of USDA Prime and American Wagyu along with all the traditional Korean sides and accoutrements. At just $68 per person, itโs a steal. I am not normally a fan of fermented and pickled, but the combination of many fermented and pickled sides with the beef was delicious. The Hirsch Pinot Noir suggested by the sommelier was also a fantastic complement. My only complaint was that there wasnโt enough guidance for how to best combine the various sides as per traditional Korean culture. The servers were incredibly friendly and tried to be helpful, but their suggestions were rushed and less clear than I would have liked. Iโd definitely return. A revelation of new flavor combinations.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a joke!
lets just say, we went their with a group of nine, service was mediocre at best, seats were incredibly uncomfortable (basically picnic tables) over crowded to noisy to hear the person on the other side of you. Steak (the draw we thought) didnt hold a candle to any of the big steakhouses in NY and the serving size was tiny. All of us were hungry as we didnt eact a lot expecting a great meal. The portions were so small and service so slow it was more torture than pleasure. As for sides, there was hardly any other food in terms of substance, just tiny little side dishes. The first course Oysters honestly tasted fishy! The cocktails were very good, but super expensive and in the end. The bill for 9 was an unbelievable $5,075 (yes we drank a lot but really!) outrageous. Call me old fashioned but youโre not supposed to leave hungry! Several of us went down the block for a slice of pizza. ! Definetly not going back!
Be the first to ReplyUtterly Fantastic
Their Japanese A5 wagyu is the real deal - Iโve found nothing else close outside of Japan. Appetizers sides are good to very good and the staff makes it a wonderful experience - working in teams to create a special outing
Be the first to ReplyBest Japanese Waygu outside of Japan
1. We ordered various cuts of the Japanese steaks 2. Steak and Eggs 3. Korean Bacon 4. Waygu Paella WOW, just wowโฆ next level deliciousness!!! Kimchi took me back to N. Korea! Highly recommend any of the Japanese cuts! I really have not tasted this level of meat since my last trip to Japan. The staff is extremely fun, friendly and knowledgeable in each cut! This is an amazing place and I canโt recommend it enough! Thank you to our team (Luke and Anna) for making our first time COTE experience AWESOME!
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite restaurant. Full stop.
It's a meal so nice, I had to have it twice... in one visit to the city. H-o-l-y-c-o-w. If you're a meat lover of any kind, you owe it to yourself to come here. My friends and I decided to go swanky and ordered the expensive butcher board option. The servers, bussers, and runners all do a fantastic job working in tandem to grill your meats for you, always to utter perfection. But the true mark of a good restaurant, for me anyway, is when it gets me to adore foods I wouldn't ordinarily eat, which is absolutely the case for the cabbage salad and kimchi, which I devoured. If you have a few extra dollars lying around, the last 2 courses of waygu (Japanese A5 and a "dessert meat" variety) will make you dizzy they're so good!

If your ever in New York try Cote steak house. Our chef explained the menue clearly and gave good recommendations. We followed his advice from the start.the food just kept coming. Watching him cook the steak infront of us was a high point. At one point we all went quiet watching and enjoying the food. It has to be good food to shut us up for once. Would visit again if we get the chance
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but not as good as we had hoped, and a very stressed dinner
My son wanted to visit Cote when we came to New York, he is very fond of both Korean food and steaks, so Cote, with a Michelin Star, sounded great. Since we were only 2 we had to select the first seating at 17:00, but that was okay since we anyway were a bit jet-lagged and wanted to have an early night. We both took the Steak Omakase, I also selected the wine-paring. The first thing I noticed was that the price of the Omakase had increased, it was $180 when I booked the table a month earlier, and now if was $225. The different steaks were okay, but not fantastic, all but one were only seasoned with salt and pepper (I think pepper, it was in a small bowl on the table). As expected the Japanese Wagyu was clearly the best steak. We got a lot of sides, but we would have needed some help from the cook about which side that worked best with which steak. We did not feel very well take care of, as you would expect in this kind of restaurant. The wine-paring was okay, but not as good as I had hoped. Overall the dinner was very stressed. Normally when you eat in a restaurant with a Michelin star you get plenty of time between each dish, and there is no rush at all and plenty of time to talk. At Cote each new steak-dish was finished very quickly and it felt like they just wanted us to finish as quickly as possible. We ate a 10 course dinner in about 1h 20min. Normally I would have expected this kind of dinner to take at least 2h, preferably 3h.
Be the first to ReplyMouth watering Korean BBQ
One of the best meals we had in NYC. Mouth watering Michelin Korean BBQ particularly for the beef in various cuts with superb service, well thought out wine list and buzzing atmosphere. Also very kid and family friendly. Definitely book this when in NYC
Be the first to ReplyBest NY Korean BBQ experience
Cote dropped several balls. But so high was the quality and taste of the food that it's still a 5-star for me. We are regulars at little Korea restaurants given our love of high quality beef and variety of banchan. Cote bested some really high competition. Too bad reservations are apparently so hard to get. So despite booking a month in advance, our table was 30-45 mins late. The room is cavernous and loud with many tables all loudly talking and sharing the food. Fair enough. We were offered a nice booth and a friendly waitress gave us an intro to the menu and process. We ordered a variety of meats and were not disappointed. The banchan was varied and top class. Asking for seconds and thirds was easy (when we could get the attention of our server). They were good about cooking the food and we delighted in every bite. I wished I was much hungrier. The drinks were good too. We are excited to make cote a regular part of our NY repertoire.

Amazing experience! The food was delicious but the service was even more incredible. Special thanks to Erin, that made our birthday celebration unforgettable. Weโll definitely come back and recommend to all of our friends in Panama!
